Placed an order online today about 12:15pm and it said it would be ready for pick up at 12:56pm. I arrived about 12:45pm. It's not a large place. You can sit in and eat but, my order was for carryout. When I arrived I was greeted. My order was ready. I couldn't pass up the desserts in the display case. So before I left i ordered a slice of strawberry cheesecake and a slice of oreo cheesecake. The food i ordered was Turkey Wings with gravy on the side with rice Collard greens Mac and cheese Smothered Pork Chops with rice Cabbage Potato salad 4 cornbread muffins. Let me tell you....... We were visiting family in the area and wanted some home-cooked food--and Georgia Peach did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted, which set the tone for a pleasant experience. My husband and I both ordered the fried catfish platter, while our son chose the ribs and our daughter went with the fried chicken wings. The food was flavorful, well-seasoned, and felt like it came straight from someone's Southern kitchen. We placed our order to-go and were impressed that it was ready in just 10 minutes. I especially appreciated how the meals were packed--each item carefully wrapped in aluminum foil, which kept everything warm and leak-free (a big win for me since I don't like my food to mix). One note for future visitors: if you're ordering fish, you'll need to place that order directly with the cashier. We moved to the area ~2 years ago from Atlanta so when I was checking on my little cousin for Morgan State homecoming I was excited to try a fast- casual soul food spot! It reminded me of This Is It restaurant in Atlanta so we were super excited! For our group of 5 we had 3 orders of catfish, 1 fried chicken and I got whitening! All the fish is fried to order as it should be... it was hot, well-seasoned and good portion sizes! Everyone raved about the catfish and my whitening was everything I was craving. For sides- I had the macaroni & cheese and yams which everyone also ordered, 5/5 in our group agreed and would order again. My sister was the only one that ordered an extra side of greens, she said she liked it but it wasn't the best she has had but she finished the portion so I would say she liked them! the sweet tea wasn't that sweet or strong enough tea flavor and the cornbread was a let down. I will not say it's horrible but it was a miss! The ONLY good thing was the catfish! The sides were trash. So we decided we wanted catfish and where we live it's not to many places close that have catfish that's seasoned and breaded well so we decided on Georgia Peach. We got two catfish platters. We were supposed to have one with mac n cheese and yams, one with greens and yams. Then a side of mac n cheese. We did not get the greens and the platters were light! They have platter trays and Instead of the sides being in the side section they were put in smaller cups. The sides were like 3 bites each. Very disappointing for $22 a piece. In addition to the small sides they were literally flavorless. None of the sides hit my taste buds and got me excited lol. I have eaten at Georgia peach about 3 - 4 times before this since being in MD and I would say it's been hit or miss but it's they have never severed the sides like this and and there has been a bit more food. Ordered delivery. The food was hit or miss. Some items were delicious, while others were just wrong. I never received the potato salad ordered with the Veggie Platter. They were sold out of the leg and thigh smothered chicken, but they were kind enough to swap it out for Turkey Wings. The catfish was extremely salty in some bites. The cornbread was dry and crumbly. All of our veggies were done right, perfectly seasoned and not over cooked. The mac and cheese, let's just say the recipe needs vital improvement. I was in town with the wife for a weekend of Ravens and Commander football from Chicago. Looking online for soul food and had a few choices and decided on Georgia Peach. Their reviews was mostly spot on. The food was prepared well . I thought it was seasoned right and my wife said her food was good too. We had Catfish, Fried Chicken , cabbage , greens , yams and cherry cheesecake . I never had cheesecake layered with actual cake and frosting it was really good. The yams was canned type and the cabbage was cut kind of large if you know what I mean. I'm used to cabbage being chopped up smaller and cooked a little softer but it was still good. I'm very sensitive to salty food and again it was on just right. I can be real critical of soul food because Chicago is the standard if you didn't know it you better ask somebody . The venue is very small, not a lot of space for dine in . The staff was young adults as described in one review however they were friendly, professional and on point. I definitely would return even though it's about 20 minutes from the inner harbor and there was spots in the harbor area for some reason I chose Georgia Peach. I'd go again to support us and especially young folk doing their thing. I only gave 4 stars because there always room for improvement . The first person to ask our order directed us to the register because I ordered fish and she took the entire order. I didn't get that. Maybe move the register to the other end because it's primarily carry out. The gravy on the turkey wings was white and it look like spit. The mac and cheese was cooked too long and dry. The yams had absolutely no flavor. I was HIGHLY disappointed. I have heard all about Georgia Peach and have been waiting to try the food. For Mother's Day we ordered food and went to my mom's house. I had pork chops (which came with rice), potato salad and Mac and cheese. Pork chops were tiny and extremely overcooked, potato salad was different but interesting and the Mac and cheese wasn't "Mac"ing. My friend believes b/c they were busy I should give them a pass. I think not. This meal gets 5/10. There was barely any gravy for the rice. This meal was an absolute disappointment with the highlight being the rice. Me and BF shared so I got Catfish Mac & Cheese and Candid Yams, he got Wings Potato Salad and Collard Green. I got a side of Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens the food was awesome. But I ordered and paid for it online. When I got there gave her my name, she said it was not ready. I waited about 10 minutes and asked again she said it was not ready. Then she asked me for my first name and as soon as I said it another worker said that order had been picked up. Oh!!!! how so. Do they come out call out a name and someone knows the drill, hey you want free food, go to Georgia Peach if they call out a name and if no one answer say it is you, for they know the food is paid for. Now I held my temper did not make a scene nor was I mad disappointed very much so at the staff. Now mind you my order was close to $65.00 may not be a lot to some but that was a lot to me. I did it the easy way order online paid for online printed my receipt and brought with me to Georgia Peach. Another food spot in the Northwood Commons shopping center, and another place I recommend if you do come around here. From what I've tried (Grilled salmon and rice w/collard greens and mac and cheese), it was quite good (especially the mac and cheese). The portions are just right, the salmon and the collard greens were good, and the mac and cheese was phenomenal. The restaurant is also quite clean and modern inside, it doesn't take long to receive your food, and the servers are quite nice. It is pricey, and the lines can be long at times, but otherwise I recommend people to come try this place out. read more

It saddens me to write this review because I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant. I don't like to give bad reviews but I have to give honest reviews. So first, the positives. The sweet potatoes didn't taste like the standard candied sweet potatoes, but they were good. The macaroni and cheese was also very good. Unfortunately the rest of my meal was not enjoyable. I ordered smothered baked chicken, and my chicken was dry, as if it were sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The chicken and the gravy were incredibly salty, almost to the point of being inedible. The greens would have been good, but they were VERY salty as well. I understand that soul food is traditionally well seasoned, but this was on another level. The cornbread tasted like your standard boxed mix. Nothing homemade about it. I went to the Woodlawn location years ago and the food was delicious so imagine my disappointment when finally getting the opportunity to try out the new Northwood location. It's sad to see the food quality go downhill like this....
