Good tasting BBQ in a area not known for BBQ. Didn't know what to expect out of the food but I was pleased with what we ordered. We ordered a meat platter with brisket, turkey and pulled pork. Everything was tasteful but the cornbread made the meal even better. The pork was vinegar based so that could not be to your liking. The owner was there and made sure I had a great experience with minimal issues. The one thing they didn't have was desserts. They had them advertised on the menu but didn't have any in stock due to the baker now showing up with the stock. I've never been to the restaurant before but today I ordered through UberEATS. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised, I ordered the fried catfish, collard greens & the corn muffin. The collard greens could've used more seasoning, but it still tasted pretty good. I thought the catfish was well seasoned & fried perfectly. The corn muffin was Delicious! I should've ordered more than one. Next time I think I will try the crab cakes. Since my last review I ordered 2 more times including today. In all my years of life, I thought I had seen it all with the bulletproof glass of Harold's Chicken Shack in Chicago. Step in Sully's Seafood & Subs, and you will find the world's first seafood takeout, liquor store, and check cashing place! Walking in, I didn't know what to expect and was excited to try some Baltimore fried seafood. Lined on the top of the wall are food specials, stacked neatly behind an impenetrable wall of bulletproof glass are lottery ticket scratchcards, refrigerators full of beer and pop and a video poker machine next to chairs for waiting. I ordered jumbo shrimp and a basket of shrimp since I wanted something crispy and seafood. They took my order and repeated through the loud mic that sounded similar to a Drive Thru microphone. As I sat down, I noticed how peculiar Sully's was since there were signs declaring 1% Payroll is the lowest in the state of Maryland. Apparently, I was also in a check cash shop and the liquor behind the counter justified all of the bulletproof glass considering the neighborhood. Another sign read, "Just bring your finger - No ID required after first check cash." Wonderful, in case you ever lose your ID, your fingerprints would be enough to get your checks cashed. I don't know anyone who likes to get fingerprinted, but to each their own! The food eventually arrived and I found the jumbo shrimp to be not so jumbo and without much flavor although it was crunch. The shrimp basket redeems Sully's in my eyes since there were plenty of pieces of shrimp and it had a good taste. The fries are cooked with the skin still on them so they were also very good. Stopped in Sully's for spur of the moment lunch last week. I probably should not have...cuz now everytime i have to go up Belair Rd, i'll have to refrain from stopping in and getting some of that fried cajun tilapia. YUM YUM. This is my first time ordering and will probably be my last. My order took an hour to arrive, but the restaurant is 8 minutes away. My order was not correct. My sandwich was dry and did not include the toppings I requested. I used Eat 24 for the order. After getting the food I checked to make I placed the order correctly, and I did. My catfish was nothing but bread and catfish. Where are my toppings? I specifically added cheese (and paid extra) mayo, tomatoes, and fried onions. I didn't receive any of these toppings. I waited an hour for a very disappointed meal. My daughter and fiancé felt the same. The order was not correct. Well I wanted to see why this place received such good reviews and honestly I am on a boarder line here. The cheese steak sub was not that great, it was OK. The bread was not fresh so I ate only the steak. The sub was cut in a way where you could not handle it with your hands. The rest of my items were sides. The fries (sweet potatoe and regular) very soggy. The cornbread was so undercooked it was raw. The best they had was the Mac and cheese and the potatoe salad. Everyone who rated this place low has no tastebuds. We got the rib dinner and wings in sweet and sassy sauce. Both were amazing. Since we had it delivered, we got the ribs with the honey bbq sauce on the side. They gave us a hefty portion in a tupperware, which I'm stoked about because it was delicious and now I have some leftover. We chose the mac and cheese and collards for our sides. mmmmm. Used groupon to try this place out. Definitely worth it! Food tasted great and was nice and hot by the time we picked it up (called in our order about 15 mins prior to picking it up)! Customer service over the phone and in store was good and upon picking up our food, the worker opened up our plates so we could see the food before he packed it up for us. I found Sully's on Groupon and took a chance. I'm so glad I did! The owner himself waited on my colleague and I. He smiled, talked to us, and gave us excellent customer service. We both got the Seafood Platter. It came with a crabcake, fried shrimp, fish, and two sides. The crabcake did not disappoint. It was pure meat. The shrimp were large. We both chose the blackened tilapia. Not only did it look and taste fresh, the seasoning was perfect. I chose potato salad and greens for my sides and both were good. My colleague chose the macaroni and cheese and said it was very good. She also got a slice of the homemade yellow chocolate cake. She said that was delicious to. My mouth is watering as I write this review. I devoured every bit and don't have any leftovers! Sully's will definitely see me again. They have something on the menu for everyone. read more

I had high expectations of this restaurant based on some reviews, but was not impressed. First of all, they did not have the menu item I had ordered using Eat24 so I received a phone call from the restaurant to let me know that they were out of it and questioned if I would like anything in its place. When I had asked for some similar options, the woman on the phone did not seem to want to take the time to help and didn't reply to most of my questions. I ended up ordering something completely different. It arrived on time, but most of the food seemed to be heavily seared/burned. The wings were incredibly spicy and I had a difficult time consuming them. The fries were DRENCHED in oil and looked like they had just been soaked in a glass of water. We could not consume them. I ordered Sully's delivery tonight. They have poor customer service, are seemingly understaffed, unorganized, and charged me for food I did not receive. To begin, the crabcake platters took almost 1 1/2 hours to arrive. After the first 70 min had gone by, I called to get an estimated time. The worker told me "it will be more than an hour we only have one driver". I told him it had already been over an hour and he said "that's all I can tell you, I'm the only one here." When the lukewarm food finally arrived, we were missing our sides, there was another person's credit card receipt taped to our bag and our order ticket did not match the order I placed online. I called the restaurant and was told again curtly "I'm the only one here and it's a Friday". The employee made no effort to offer any further support or explanation. I understand Fridays are busy, but a busy night is not a free pass to dismiss accuracy or customer service. I spent around $60 after fees. I would have gotten better service and accuracy at a fastfood restaurant. I will not order from this establishment again. read more

My first experience wasn't good because it was a Saturday night delivery that took forever and arrived cold. Mercifully, my turkey sandwich was wrapped in foil. I would love to be able to review this company based on the food but that hasn't been possible since no one at Sully's will return my phone calls or order. To set the scene, I would like to set up catering with Sully's. Their website says to call for catering inquiries, which I did 4 times. The answering machine says someone will call back within 48 hours. I called last Tuesday, waited the 48 hours with no call. Called again Thursday and Friday. Friday a female actually answered the phone! Only, she didn't know anything about catering and wasn't able to help me. She said the manager would be in within 10-15 minutes and would call me as soon as they arrived. That was 2pm on Friday. Here is is Monday afternoon (a week since my original call) and I still have not gotten a return call from anyone at Sully's! Maybe the service is better if you are physically going into the location but if you are trying to have a BBQ catered event I wouldn't even bother with this company. Don't advertise catering if you aren't able to even call your customers back. read more

My job had a catered kunch provided by sullys. This makes the second time trying their food. The food was just ok. The pricing is fair. The location is not desirable especially in the evening. As a vegan, I walked into Sully's fully knowing my options were limited but it was breakfast time and I needed something to put on my tummy. The young lady that answered the phone and later took my order was pleasant and more than eager to tell me about the menu offerings. I was here at 11am on a Thursday and thought it was pretty cool that they served all their food offerings that early. So if I just wanted a big side of yams and greens for breakfast I could have so ordered. I opted for just grits on that morning however and went on my way to drive the short 3 blocks to my destination. In that small amount of time, the amount of butter that was put in my grits had managed to completely saturate the paper bag and even leak through. Why there appeared to be a half vat of butter in my small container, I'll never know but it certainly was not needed. If you happen to get the grits from here, steer clear of the butter or ask they keep it to a minimum-anything under a full cup will do. read more

The food is pretty good here...though not always consistent in taste especially the potatoe salad. Some days the potatoe salad is very delicious other days the potatoes don't taste like they have been cooked thoroughly. Most of the staff is friendly and professional with the exception of one Caucasian young lady. She doesn't seem to be as consistent with her guest interactions. I don't really like how they charge a lot more money for such a small cup of tea. Some of the dishes are overpriced but very delicious. I got extremely sick one time when I ate the seafood salad and I had to take time away from frequenting this restaurant. Yes, I was horrified because I could taste the shrimp and tell it was going bad (my stupidity for eating it despite my observation). HOWEVER, the owner strives to breed a team of professionals and I firmly believe this place is worth not giving up on them. I only hope the owner can ask his chef to be a little more vigilant when it comes to determining whether something is ready to be discarded or the potatoe salad consistently tasting the same. Amazing flavor, very nice quality. We ordered the fried catfish and blackened tilapia and both were cooked perfectly and had generous portions. the Mac n cheese was different than we've had before. Instead of the sprinkling of grated cheeses, it seems as though they added cubes of cheese, mixed with the pasta and then faked, resulting in more cheese to pasta ratio-very yummie. the regular fries reminded me of OC Boardwalk fires- vey very good-could have been a little more crisp, but delicious none the less. Sweet potato fries were very good but definitely would have even better with a few extra minutes in the fryer. This was out first visit and will now be a regular option for carry out. I hate giving bad reviews but here it is. Ordered from here using the grub hub app. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad, 5 buffalo wings and cream of crab soup. So it came earlier than expected which was awesome however as I prepared to dive into my food I realized that there was no blue cheese for my wings or Caesar dressing for my chicken CAESAR salad. So I called the restaurant and told them of my dilemma to which I was told that they were backed up with deliveries and they would send some eventually. So next best thing I contacted grub hub who gave me a $5 coupon for my next order. I figured I was never gonna get the dressing so I used some ranch dressing from the fridge. The wings wound up being undercooked and still red near the bone. The buffalo flavor was pretty good though. Wanted to finish them but the risk of food poisoning was not worth the reward. I took a few bites of the salad which tasted like they didn't properly wash the lettuce. Finally the cream of crab soup was delicious. So here's hoping to not getting salmonella or listeria.
