And I'm telling you now, it's closing by the end of July! There's another one nearby, and that one closes in August!! Maybe you don't think of fish as a fast food. But what they do here they do pretty well. The fish are great big pieces of tender, almost creamy white fish, in a pretty thick crunchy batter. The shrimp are quite large, in the same batter. The fries are generous and hot crispy waffle fries. The beverages are self serve. The flavors are good. The seafood and batter and cooking oil are all fresh. They have maybe six different sauces to choose from, they're all pretty flavorful, but with this batter, you have to go with the malt vinegar. It's a perfect match! This place is on Ritchie Highway, halfway between I-695 and I-895. I'll miss this place. If you can get here during the rest of July, you're lucky. Beggars can't be choosers this is the only Long John's Silvers in the area. The food came out fresh, hot and flavorful. I am pretty sure I will be back here in the future. It took a few minutes to cook up everything but the fish and chicken was awesome. Fries had a nice crunch to them and I got some cheese sauce to dip them in that made them liven better. The place was clean, music wasn't overly lounge and things were pretty good for a last minute lunch. read more

Wow. This had to be the worst Long John Silver's dining experience I have ever had. The restaurant itself was a little rundown. That wouldn't normally be a dealbreaker. But the food was practically inedible. The Hush puppies were way too crisp on the outside and dry on the inside the chicken tasted funny And the fries as well. Found this location looking for one closer to home than the one found by my job. I absolutely love Long John's Silver but have always had to travel for it. I called to find that they opened at 10am and showed up around 10:30am. The fixed our 12 piece fish family meal upon order ensuring it was fresh and piping hot! The restaurant was clean and the staff was very polite. I failed to get pictures but will post some next time I'll definitely be stopping by here again very soon. So I haven't been to a Long Johns Silvers in over 10 years! Seeing this one along my drive I was so excited and confused at the same time! I didn't know they still had them around. I made a drive thru run so I could order a bunch of stuff and try it all while I was traveling. First thing there was to notice was the lady that was on the intercom. She didn't greet me, just started with what do you want to order....alright well hello to you! Once I was ready to make my order she took down all I asked for and asked did I want any sauce, that was nice! Once I get to the window I preceded to say hi and how's your day going and she doesn't even look at me or reply hi back, so I said it again. The second time she replied and was real short with me. Customer service is so important to me and I feel like every restaurant should let their employees know it means so much! When I opened my meal, it looked pretty good! The fries were cold, the chicken was not good in my opinion but the fish and the two shrimp were great! The hush puppies which is the main reason I loved LJS forever ago was because of them. They were ok this time. Tasted like they possibly had been sitting. I would recommend ordering a fish meal or a fish meal with shrimp since those two were the best things! The funny thing to me that I truly don't remember from the last time I went to a LJS was the sides. They only had onion rings, fries, Cole slaw or hush puppies. I was wishing they had green beans or something healthy to go with all my fried food lol. All in all I was excited but they really need to work on the customer service and serving hot food! Stopped in today for reasons that could only be described as "unfathomable." The staff was rude as hell, which I've come to expect from fast food places in general. The food was hot, but instead of the coleslaw I asked for, I was given nasty, soggy fries. Of course, I wasn't going back in to deal with their rude staff to fix the issue, so I ended up throwing those away. The real kicker, though, was the fact that the place was out of cocktail sauce. A SEAFOOD place being out of cocktail is inexcusable. Check out the size of my son's chicken plank, though! That's some value! read more

The location is very clean, nice upbeat 80s music at a good volume make for great nostalgia, the food came out hot as it was prepared to order. The manager obviously cares and works hard to serve customers giving us a few extra hush puppies since my wife and I split a large plate. Food was on point. If you're looking for Long John's this is where it's at in bmore. Kiosks are only good for Taco Bell orders, have to order at the counter for LJS. read more

The fried fish, chicken, and fries here are always burned. The employees are argumentative. I just had to return the food on my most recent visit. I have been enjoying LJS for 40+ years, but I can't come here anymore. I never see anyone buying LJS here anymore. They seem to come here only for Taco Bell, and who can blame customers from running away when the food is always always burned? The restaurant is always empty when I have been here.. I've tried to get them to change, but to no avail. I think that the employees don't even eat fish, so they don't know what it should taste like. They think that burned is normal. This has been going on for more than a year, so I guess it won't change. I sent a message to the headquarters, and got no response. I am sad to see it go, because it is delicious when done right. Haven't been to a Long John Silver is ages ... probably over 10 years. The Mother in-law had seen commercials for LJS so had that craving. After picking her up from the hair dressers, off to LJS we went. Upon entering I almost fell on my ass as the floor was very slippery. I don't know if it is the type tile they have or what, but I sort-a shuffled to the cash register. There were a total of four employees; one running the drive-up window, one manning the fryers, one making Taco's (this is a combo Taco Bell and LJS) and the fourth was off to the side on her phone, shutting with a friend and I thought she was either going off duty or about to come on duty. Anyway, six or seven minutes went by and I had not been acknowledged yet. Loudly I announced myself and asked who the cashier was. The one off to the side said "I'll be right with you..." Two orders of fish and chips was requested, 11 minutes later I received two orders of chicken and fries. So the order had to be remade. While I was waiting the extra 15 minutes for the second attempt I looked around the establishment. Everywhere I looked was dirty, unstocked (no forks, no malt vinegar packets, and no napkins), and dusty. The track lighting on the ceiling looked like it had;t been cleaned in a looong time. Food arrived, order was correct, so off to Granny's house we went. Fish was meh ... not bad and not good. The coleslaw was a-ok; close to KFC's. I had a good experience here at Long John Silver's but the food here isn't my favorite. I got a combo two fish which came with fries, a drink, and two hush puppies. One good thing was that the fish was a good portion. It was really oily and the taste was so so. The tartar sauce helped enhance it though. The staff at this location was efficient and the place was clean. Overall once again, the food didn't do it for me. read more

Ordered a meal with 6 shrimp and asked for coleslaw instead of fries. Also ordered a meal with 4 shrimp and a chicken piece. What I received was the 6 piece with fries and no coleslaw (I did get a fork for the coleslaw though). My 4 piece with chicken only had 4 shrimp, no chicken. Each order came with 2 hush puppies. Of the 4 hush puppies, 2 of them were rock hard. Also, of the 10 total shrimp we were supposed to receive, we only got 9 and one of them was rock hard as well. The only thing they got right were the drinks. I realize times are hard, but if you can't deliver the products being paid for, you shouldn't be in business. read more

Decided to try this restaurant again today, hoping that my experience would have improved in the 4-1/2 years that have elapsed in the interim. This time I got the fish and chicken combo. The fish was a little better than last time, but the chicken pieces was definitely fried in oil that was overdue for changing... even moreso than my previous visit. I was thinking about maybe getting a larger takeout order to put portions into the freezer for future meals, but I'm glad that I didn't because I wouldn't want to be eating these in the future. Why do they ask if you want sauce if they don't give it to you? I asked for vinager and tartar sauce and got home, but only had tartar sauce in the bag. The cashier at the drive thru stuck the change on top of the dollar bill so when she went to hand it to me the change fell on the ground. She didn't apologize or acknowledge it. Literally the worst food I've had in a long time. A few months ago I went there, the food was excellent and the service was superb, so we thought we would stop there for dinner tonight. It was the worst mistake ever. Not only was the restaurant disgusting (trash bins overflowing, trash and food on the floor), the service was terrible, and the food was even worse. For starters, we had to split our order into two because they were unable to handle a transaction that was more than $20. Then when we got our drinks, they were all disgusting and had a dirty chemical taste. When we got our food, it was just as bad. The chicken was extremely oily and had a bitter, ammonia-like taste. The fries had absolutely no flavor to them and were lukewarm at best. The hush puppies tasted like bland raw dough. The deep-fried Twinkie tasted like nothing but sugar. The soft taco from the adjoined Taco Bell was ice cold and hard as a rock. The food was so disgusting that we didn't finish the meal and threw a good portion of it away. A waste of $26. I'm writing this approximately two and a half hours after eating there and I feel absolutely sick to my stomach. Congratulations, LJS. You probably gave my family food poisoning from your absolutely atrocious slop you call food. read more

Visited on 3/8/2020 shortly after 12 noon. I have not been to a LSJ for a long time and stumbled across this location. Service, while a little slow (several customers walked in at one time and seems they only had five or six on staff at that time), was decent and professional. One staff member was being trained and the team worked well together getting the orders filled as quickly as possible and remained courteous to each other as well as to customers that continued to stop in. Would also add that the restaurant was including bathrooms were relatively clean and decent even in the back where food was being prepared. read more

Stopped here last evening and purchased an L4 meal of 2 LJS fish, reg. fries, reg. cole slaw, 2 hushpuppies and med. pepsi. The food was barely edible. There were no hushpuppies and no utensiles for the coleslaw. What this meal lacked in quality, the employee(s) made up in condiments. $8.67 wasted on garbage. Avoid this LJS at all costs! read more
