CRAVING... is the best word choice! Whenever I'm out this way, I have to stop here. It's called Cravin Crabs but they have everything!! You can get steamed crabs which are always full and heavy whenever I've gone. They have a variety of sizes and cook them fresh and have never had a bad experience. Prices today for crabs ranged from $39 to $100+ for a dozen but you can also order bushels. But that's not all.... they also sell oysters, shrimp, crawfish, and have ready made crab cakes with actual chunks of crabs meat. You can buy the crab cakes and go home and drop them in the broiler. They are delicious! Another surprise is they have a snowball stand! Didn't get a snowball but will for sure grab one next time. It's not an eat in restaurant. This is a carry out location. They have a decent surface lot but are on the edge of a residential neighborhood so street parking is also available. I use to love Cravin Crab but as of lately, my experience has been terrible! Im sick of the small over priced mushy crabs!! The large crabs are more of a "small size" crab and nowadays their crabs don't have any meat in them! What a waste! Thank God I only got a 1/2 doz!! Check the pic's because I can't make this up! Ordered a dozen Large for $79 from Cravin' Crabs last night. The order came to just under $82 with a roll of paper. They were really small and paper thin, medium at best. Was only able to eat 5 after my 3rd one being so mushy(like they were reheated). I still have 5 of them in the bag they gave me, which I put in my freezer. To say the least, I usually am very happy with crabs there so I don't know what happened. I called them and spoke to a manager with the intention of bringing them back but I was a half hour away and when I got there at 912pm, found they closed at 9. We also enjoyed sweet Gulf shrimp with potatoes and onions and two cons of corn . Our order was called ahead so it would be ready when we arrived. They also sold snowballs. I ordered a dozen of the extra large crabs for my wife to celebrate our anniversary. When I got them home they just didn't look right, too dry. We ate a few and then my wife opened two that smelled like ammonia. I have no doubt that these were reheated crabs. I called and they asked me to bring them back. I told him that these sure did look and taste like reheated crabs and he claimed that they were a fresh shipment, then shock and surprise he couldn't pick up the ammonia smell, probably because he'd been steaming crabs all day and his sense of smell was shot. He asked me what I wanted him to do about the situation, I asked for a refund of half of my cost, but apparently they don't give refunds, you get a choice of new crabs or store credit. Sorry, screw me once, shame on you... I won't go back and will make sure that anyone I know shouldn't go there either. On the way in I passed a guy and he asked if I was bringing them back, I told him what happened and he wasn't too happy since he just bought a dozen of the extra large too. Oh and that extra large deal? This place needs a new ruler, one that reads in inches not centimeters. I had to give them one star, you can't give zero. read more

I have been here on may occasions for the shrimp salad, the carbs are just ok and over priced for the size and density. Today was the final straw. Today They gave me my shrimp salad with dried up food of something else on the side lid. Then, they put the shrimp salad in the bag to go, and once again no napkin, no fork. I had to ask for them. The seasoning is a house blend and felt and tasted more like course sea salt than a finer texture and taste of old bay. The seasoning was caked on way too thick and wasn't good. They put 11 crabs in my bag. I paid for 12. The legs on all but 3 were removed. Ambiance is typical walk-in and up to the counter. I paid 45 dollars for a half dozen of extra large crabs and the size I got was medium at best. I get that its not crab season yet, so instead of advertising that they have all sizes they should just price the crabs at the size they actually are. This was not the first time I ordered large males that looked like small to mediums. But in this batch, 1/3 was lightweight, which I trashed and took as a loss ($70 plus down the drain). Now my drive is longer, but Conrad's in Parkville has never done me wrong. Their mediums males are always heavy and large ($44) and way bigger than Cravin' Crabs large males. Bought soft crabs at what I thought and they cleaned them for me. Brought them home and they cover the bread with legs out. Fabulous and I will definitely be a repeat customer. This business cares more about their EBT customers than hard-working paying customers. Been there twice in the past month, both times waited behind slow & ignorant EBT customers questioning everything they could and weighing crabs before they figured out what they actually wanted... meanwhile my bag of crabs that I'm paying $100 cash for sits on the counter behind the register for 15 minutes!! A pathetic joke! Open another register for EBT so it doesn't affect the customers who actually pay for their seafood. Ordered a dozen large crabs for $76. Majority of them were missing a leg and at least half were unpleasantly light. They measured out to 6 inches point to point but they were extremely light compared to the times I've been before. When I returned and told the staff of the issue the cashiers were not customer friendly at all. She told me there was nothing she could do to circumvent my displeasure and ensure I at least found some value in spending my money there. She then went and got the owner and he opened a crab that was light and she goes on to say "look at all that mustard" as if that is crabmeat. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I though I had a new crab spot but it seems like they didn't really value my patronage. If I could give no stars I would because I'm never coming back to this business that doesn't care about customer service. read more

Bought extra large $109.00 per dozen. Bought a dozen and a half, four ears of steamed corn and two rolls of paper. Folks behind the counter were out of sorts. Probably cause the large plastic buffer made it hard to hear with all the background noise. Crabs came right out on time. I got 18 crabs and four ears of corn. Corn was fine. Crabs in no way were worth what I paid for them. Mediums at best, few were full, well seasoned. Unbelievably disappointing when i have purchased their crabs before in this size and they were as advertised. They do not have a way to send them reviews directly, so this was my only method. There was a 15 min wait which actually turned into a 25 mins for crabs. Everything else was great except for the fact that I was very disappointed with the crabs. I have eaten many many crabs in my life and I will say these are the absolute worse by far! I ordered 1 dozen large females for $70 and 2 ears of corn. I never would imagine that they would be cold, dry, very mushy, most of legs were missing from the shell, they were so light weight I couldn't believe my eyes!! They felt empty! The corn was even the worse and I didn't think corn can be bad like that. It seemed like these were old returned crabs they swapped and tried to recook and it failed. To charge $70 for the quality of the crabs they gave me was absolutely despicable! I called to report my concern and ask for a refund, and the manager who said her name was "Melissa" told me that they do not give refunds. They only can give store credit or cook another batch. I told her I did not see that on my receipt nor was I told that cause most establishments let you know upon purchase. Of course, after tasting these bad crabs, I do not want anything else from them. It's a safety hazard in my opinion. I refuse to pay $70 for the bad quality I received and it's not fair that I have no choice with reconciliation with them. I will dispute this cause it's wrong and I didn't get what I paid for at all! There should always be a quality check when you are charging the amount you are charging. These were not large, they were mixed smalls. And they were bad crabs which is why after a few, I realized that they were too bad to consume as I didn't want to get sick. Nothing was fresh about them. They looked very dark and diseased. They are crabs that you don't sell and throw away. There's no way that they didn't know that they were selling bad crabs. Especially if they made sure that they counted exactly 12 crabs - you definitely had to see the sizes and weight when sorting this. BEWARE of dealing with them please! EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Places like Kent Island Crabs are good choices and ensure that you receive quality and consistently. This company seems to be a hit or miss and a risk. First and last time trying this place. Plus they can't guarantee there quality which you are at risk of losing money cause they say they don't do refunds.
