Came in on a Wednesday night to it busy but not crowded. Sat right away and server was fast and got our orders in regular way instead of through QR code Everything was delicious and would come back again

I'm a big fan of ramen and always enjoy trying new restaurants, so I was excited to stumble upon Hinodeya in Newark. Located on a busy corner street, the restaurant has its own parking lot, which is convenient. We were a party of three and arrived before the dinner rush, so we were seated right away. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately and were able to choose where we wanted to sit. The restaurant is very clean, with dim lighting and a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. It's definitely a nice place to unwind and enjoy a meal. We ordered the Karaage Orange, Spicy Miso Ramen, Clam Ramen, and Spicy Butter Miso Ramen. Our food arrived fairly quickly, with about a 10-minute wait. Unfortunately, I really wanted to love the ramen, but it fell short of my expectations. The broth was quite bland and lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for. The portions also felt on the smaller side, with not a lot of meat or other ingredients in the bowls. Considering the price, I didn't feel the quality and portion size quite justified the cost. I may come back in the future and try something different--perhaps another dish will change my mind. For now, though, I'll probably pass. I'm glad I gave it a try, but I've had better ramen elsewhere.

Very friendly staff. They were courteous to everyone who tried getting on the list or were waiting to be seated. The space is small and a little cramped but you have enough for you and whoever else you come with(depending on availability). I enjoyed the quality of the ramen, where this one is lighter and tasty. Some places make it thicker and harder to digest but even with my small appetite I ate a good amount! Will come back again.

HAMAGURI "Clam" Ramen

The HAMAGURI "Clam" Ramen is definitely a huge standout on the menu! A light but punchy broth. So flavorful and tastes super clammy (in a good way). They even have a cold version during the summer. How refreshing!! We also really loved the appetizers here. I love how reasonably priced everything was. I recommend the Umami Brussel Sprouts and Takowasa especially.

HINODEYA "House" Ramen

We came here with some friends, the decor looked nice inside. You can tell they've definitely used an interior designer for the store. We were led to our seats and once we were given the menu, we started studying it meticulously. I got the HINODEYA "House" Ramen, my wife got the Beef Bowl "Gyudon", and our friend got a ramen with katsu in it. They asked me if I wanted my ramen mild, medium or hot in spiciness. I went with the medium option. I enjoyed my ramen. The broth was well made but I didn't notice much difference between the wheat noodle they've used versus normal noodle used in other shops. The portion was not big for its price and I was about 80% full from the bowl. When I tasted a bite of my wife's beef bowl, boy was I disappointed. They added way too much sauce and honestly I can't say this dish is good. The beef wasn't cut in the traditional way in how a gyudon should be and it turned out a little bit thicker which is a little weird for me. I would compared it to a Yoshinoya and the irony is that I actually like the beef bowl from Yoshinoya better at half the price? lol. Our friend shared a little bit of her katsu with us and we thought it was way too dry. Perhaps it's been sitting at the heat lamp for way too long... Overall, what I feel about Hinodeya is that they've definitely have some unique ideas in their dishes but the execution and consistency still needs to be worked on. I noticed that there were 4 different spicy level and I was a little curious as to what they were. It wasn't until I asked the waiter that they explained them to us. I was a little puzzled because this seems to be what they wanted to push but we just weren't told to us in our visit until way later... It's a 50/50 whether I'll come back or not. I think there are definitely improvements for a good ramen spot that people would crowd upon in the bay area for sure.

New fried gyoza w spicy sauce (8.00)

House ramen never misses, excellent broth to sip on upon arrival. The spicy tan tan ramen was heavy, good but would probably prefer not to have spice in my broth next time. The new fried gyoza had a nice crunch to it, but the sauce was a bit heavy, and would prefer the original gyoza next time. Great post workout meal! Appropriate attentive service. You can order traditionally via waiter/menu, or just scan the QR code on the table to minimize interactions. I like how they add new seasonal items on the menu and have a lot of options on the QR menu to accommodate various customer preferences. Note to self: the ramen bowl itself is filling enough, we had trouble finishing with 2 extra apps.

Good ramen spot! Located in a small lot with limited parking but local streets nearby. The restaurant is a little small but it looks like they're currently doing some construction. The restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere. We ordered two spicy miso ramen and fried oysters. Our ramen came out first and I got spicy level 4 and my husband got 3. It wasn't spicy in our opinions but it was delicious nonetheless. Came with two slices of chashu and plenty of noodles. Wouldn't say it was anything extraordinary but a good ramen overall. The fried oysters were amazing and came with a Donkatsu tasting sauce. Not worth $11 though. It was piping hot and came with 5 small pieces. Overall, decent ramen spot. Think for the area it's good but definitely better spots out there. Service was good as well.

This is a big milestone.. as this is my ramen review #100!! I'm officially an obsessed Ramen Sheriff! I should've had way more since I was in Japan for a month, but I was just too busy enjoying myself. Sorry not sorry =P Now that I'm back home instead of walking 20k miles a day in the streets of Tokyo, I'm back to journaling the ramen bowls here. I really liked the wheat noodles here, this was the star. Very chewy and al dente. The broth for the house ramen was very nice, flavorful light dashi, really enjoyed it. The noodles and soup are done well in Hinodeya. My taste in ramen has evolved to lighter broths, so I appreciate the flavorful but light dashi broth here rather than the typical heavy tonkatsu broths they do here around the bay. The toppings however could be better. The chasu was tougher than I'd like, and the soft boiled egg was overcooked on the bottom. They both lacked flavor and could have more umami as well. My fiance got the clam ramen and they were pretty generous with the clams, but he thought it was okay. Service was very good. I was a little weary since the QR code to order asked for tip in the beginning of your order, which was weird. But it was great that they pulled through. Food came out instantly, minutes of ordering, and they were very prompt with requests. Ambiance was loud since it's a small restaurant. Especially when there are families with little ones. Overall, good/fine place for a casual ramen eatery. Nothing to rave about but decent to satisfy your ramen cravings, especially for light broths or clams.

This place was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. We came at around 12:30pm on a Sunday and we were lucky to be seated right away. The whole place was packed with people. It's a small place, but they were able to position all the tables and chairs so that there's room to move around. Ordering was convenient. We were able to scan the menu at our table and paid quickly remotely. Our food came out on a timely manner. We were able to try the Clam ramen, Hinodeya ramen, and the Tonkatsu. They were all delicious and very much to our liking. Presentation is something i noticed they take pride in. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly, the decorations on the front entrance is what lured us in. The tables all had a tiny lamp that you can turn on and off. All the servers were wearing coordinated attire with the restaurant logo on it. They were all attentive to our needs and constantly filled up our water and took empty dish away when the table started to feel tight/crowded. All Ramen we tried had the WOW bursting with flavors. I highly recommend this place.

Came here for lunch as we were in the area. This would be my 4th Hinodeya. I like how they like to be a small parking lot. The restaurant itself is decently sized with the same color scheme as the others. Around 12:10pm on a Sunday, easy to get a table. QR code to order and pay. Waiters bring out food. I had to ask twice for toddler utensil and also a bowl. HINODEYA "House" Ramen - I got this and shared with my toddler. Plenty of noodles and I loved the toppings. The noodles were cooked just right. SPICY MISO Ramen - My husband got this. He was pretty disappointed as the two pieces of cha Sui was super fatty. Chicken Karaage - Good flavor but the breading was thick. Umami Brussel Sprouts - Good flavor but the Brussels were undercooked. Two unisex bathrooms in the back - clean.

SPICY TANTAN Ramen: lvl 4 spicy, extra menma. The next bowl I had, I added an egg.

Several weeks ago I stopped by here since I was working late and I was hangry. I knew Pho San Jose was most likely packed gauging by the hour, so, ramen will have to do (first world problems). The place was busy, and since it was just me, I sat at the bar. I see the Spicy Tan-tan Ramen is a limited release, so, ofc I'm going to order a bowl. Lvl 4 spicy, forgot the Japanese name for it, extra bamboo shoots, and I start to decompress. A couple minutes later, I'm feeling so much better. The menma wasn't from the fibrous part of the shoot, so that was a bonus. The broth, overall flavour and spiciness lvl: HELL YES! I probably could have been ok with lvl 5, but that would have detracted from the flavour of everything else. The noodles were not too soft or firm, Japanese al dente if you will. The ground pork had this sweetness, umami, and calming effect to it after a stressful day. ngl, it kind of reminded me of the longanisa from Taylor's Sausage in Oakland. I really want to try the other ramen, gyudon and tonkatsu, but the Tan-tan Ramen is limited release ;) When it's no longer available, I'll move on to the other menu items.

I fell in love with hinodeya when I first tried it out in San Jose. I love their restaurants. It's this cozy Japanese style restaurants. This location specifically has an outdoor patio as well so it's pretty spacious. You have two options to order, one via the QR code and/or with the servers. We ordered via the QR code and ordered the edamame sticks for our appetizer. I would say the edamame sticks need a little bit more salt but the consistency was perfect. I think the pot of hot teat they have is also pretty cute and their tea leaves were actually pretty good. I would say their ramen is more on the pricier side but it's definitely a tasty ramen. We ordered the tonkatsu and house ramen. And both ramen was really good. Their broth is probably one of the best broths I've ever had for ramen and their proteins are also made very well. The tonkutsu was cooked perfectly and the pork had great consistency. The servers would check on you multiple times which I appreciate and they definitely paid attention to their tables. They made sure everything was clean, everyone greeted you and over all just an amazing time and great food.

Do they accept reservations?

I don't believe so. We came on an off time so we were just able to walk in. I did see their option of a wait list here on Yelp.

Is this a branch of the Hinodeya in SF or unrelated?

Yes it is! 😁

Upon my arrival the kind host greeted me immediately and allowed me to take a seat. I was unsure of what to order and I had asked the host what to get and he positioned for me to try the coconut miso ramen and lemme tell you it was honestly one of the best bowls of ramen I've had. The broth was incredibly rich and velvety, with the coconut adding a subtle natural sweetness that complemented the deep umami of the miso instead of overpowering it. It created a balanced, layered flavor that was both comforting and surprisingly refined. Every spoonful had depth, and the broth was so good that I found myself wanting to finish every last drop. The noodles had an excellent texture, firm with just the right amount of chew--allowing them to hold onto the broth beautifully. The toppings were fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and blended seamlessly with the overall dish, adding texture and flavor without distracting from the star of the bowl. What impressed me most was how harmonious everything tasted. Fusion flavors can sometimes feel forced, but this ramen was exceptionally well executed. The coconut and miso worked together to create something unique while still respecting the traditional character of ramen. If you're looking for a bowl that's comforting, flavorful, and a little different from the usual tonkotsu or shoyu, I can't recommend the Coconut Miso Ramen at Tadamasa highly enough. It's the kind of meal that stays on your mind long after you've finished eating, and I'll definitely be coming back for it. You ever slapped a lady while giving her the old baloney pony and it made you realize that this is the best thing ever to happen? It's similar to that feeling
