Wow, I am SO impressed! I just recently "discovered" Hinode, and I have unabashedly ordered takeout a few times. I have yet to be disappointed by a roll ordered from here. Hinode serves up quality fish and fun rolls for a neat(read: low) price. Raw fish lovers look no further! Honestly this little gem serves fresher fish than some of the long-standing Orlando sushi institutions closer to downtown. You can't go wrong with an OMG roll. The mango in it is not overpowering at all, it's almost like a fruity after-note. The George roll is good too, and the salmon toro nigiri is pretty good too. read more

WOW, just wow... except for finding a parking space, Hinode has it all going on. The sushi is fresh, creative, and presented in a delightful manner. We each started with Miso Soup; and, while my wife and our daughter had the Green Tea, I had the house Warm Sake. We ordered That One Roll, which is as difficult to eat as it is tasty! The Super Volcano Roll wasn't nearly as hot as we feared; and, it was very good. The Fruit Duty Roll was a favorite of all three of us; and, the Naruto Sashimi Roll was okay; but, wrapped in cucumber, which none of us really like (later the waiter said they can do Soy Wrap alternatively.) Our daughter was the only one with enough room for dessert, ordering Tempura Cheesecake, which was very good... served with a scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream (they were out of vanilla.) Andrew R was a bit blase; but, became more animated when I had a chance to talk with him about some of the rolls, etc. while settling the tab (the ladies had gone to wash up after eating.) We had such a good time, the gratuity was close to 25%. Really can't wait to come back! I sincerely thanked a Facebook friend, and former work colleague for turning us on to Hinode! read more

Food & Service wasn't bad, just unimpressive. Server had an attitude. Definitely not my first choice for a romantic /fine dining restaurant, just a better option than Tijuana Flats next door. Felt like a hole in a wall Chinese takeout place, turned sushi. Atmosphere was sub par for a date, there were loud families with kids seated right next to us. That aside, it felt like the tables were too close together to begin with. As a self-proclaimed sushi snob connoisseur, I can name 5 sushi restaurants better than this one. Sushi pop, Edoboy, Kadence, Kabooki, Mikado, all come before this place in service, food, and atmosphere. Domu & Tori Tori also really great non-sushi, Japanese restaurants/bars. These are all within a 45 min drive of this restaurant and worth the time and gas/spent. What's crazy is that I felt like my money is better spent in gas driving, than it would be compromise on what sushi should be. read more

We came here after finding out that sushi pop was closed on Mondays, and I'm sure glad we gave this place a shot! From the road it looks like a generic hole in the wall sushi place, but this place is a cut above the rest. Environment was nice, peaceful, and it wasn't too busy. The staff was courteous and helpful. For dinner I got Zarigani roll. What makes this roll is the white fish on top that is seared with a torch, it gives the role a sweet smoky flavor. It was easily one of the best rolls I've had in a long time. My only issue is that the rolls are not as large as I would like given the price, but honestly, the price is kinda justified given the quality. Love love looooveeee this place! My favorite roll ever is the Kokona! They nailed the flavor profiles perfectly. I do miss when they had sliced almonds on it, but it's still delicious without. Also love the Supaishi Hamachi, Roll on Fire, and even something as simple as Spicy California, eel, and a plain avocado roll. They just know how to flavor their rolls and make them into perfect bites! Oh and their choya soda is an amazing alcohol drink too ;) read more

First time ever trying this place and I was so excited, unfortunately I was very let down. Checked the reviews before going of course and the reviews were all 5/5 pretty much I was like awesome maybe I've found a hidden gem in Oviedo! Walked in and the place was packed, thought that was a great sign. Asked to be seated and was told there is no where to sit inside I have to sit outside. Waitress took her sweet time to greet us, got our order in quickly something tells me she wouldn't be outside much to check back on us. She brought drinks and appetizer we had a spring roll 2 for $5 they were delicious but it isn't too hard to mess them up they are only deep fried. I ordered the chicken, white rice, veggies, and a side of noodles they have two different options of noodles "little noodles" and "thicker noodles" no clue what that meant! Went with the "thicker noodles" waitress did not come back until the food was ready about 25 mins later. Gave us my food and I so wish I could've taken a picture of it, I thought it was a joke. The plate was HUGE for no reason, they give you the littlest side of rice and big portions of veggies and chicken, the "thicker noodles" were DISGUSTING they looked inedible they were huge noodles, soggy, with little to absolutely no taste.. it was so gross I tasted it unfortunately to give it a try and sent it back right away. The hibachi meal I received was not good I would not go back to order it. Bland, cold, and just overall no taste. Also our waitress gave me my dinner and did not offer the white yum yum sauce so I had to eat my meal without it.. that's literally the best part about hibachi is the yum yum sauce. Also I ate my entire meal without a refill of my drink because she never checked in on me. Overall horrible experience, do not listen to these yelp reviews it's all lies, waitress was not attentive, food was not good and I will not be back. A waste of money. read more

This place has opened recently and replaced another sushi bar which was horrible. I have never had sashimi so thick That I had to bite them into half. They serve with generously and use big chunk of fish not just a tiny layer. The server was professional and attentive. He was an amazing guy and he threw something at the side for us as well. This is a pretty decent sushi place in the area. I usually would have to travel a lot further to get some good sushi, but so glad that I have one close to home now. Their fish is quite fresh and they have unique rolls to choose from. I do feel their rolls is a little smaller, but just gives you the opportunity to try other rolls. They do offer traditional rolls and hot items from the kitchen as well such as hibachi and noodle dishes. Service seems a bit slow, but could still be running the kinks out. This is such a great place for sushi lovers. I'm not super big into sushi but they do have a great shrimp tempura bento box. They have really good sweet potato sushi rolls, sounds weird but seriously the best thing ever. If you have a gluten allergy this is not a good place for you to eat at. They're very generous with portions! The dishes are always so fancy and they take a lot of time to make them pretty. Today they gave us a yummy dish to try for free which was very nice. We had been here once before, but we heard they had gotten new management. We got the titan roll and the paradise roll. They were both amazing! We also got a chicken udon bowl. My husband really liked it. I thought it was okay. But I'm more picky than him. The service was great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I think we may have found our new sushi spot. I only wish they had some type of happy hour special. The place by our old house, kept us coming back because they had great specials from 4:00-6:30 every day. Their version of the surf and turf which is called Roll On Fire was a favorite and it's pretty cool to see how they torch the fillet on top of the roll. They really put effort in the making and it goes to show in taste and quality. Don't forget to try their array of different sauces as well, they are delicious and plenty variety for all different taste.
