4 stars for kind service! We got two rolls, salad and two soups as well as a kids hibachi. For some reason, the food took a lot longer than we expected and our kids were ready to go. Hence, the two stars off. We also got there a few minutes after they opened. Jason and Jasmine were so sweet and helpful. I'm not sure if the rolls we got, but they were delicious! It was clean and spacious inside. High chairs are barely clean and this one was! Restrooms clean as well.

I've been here a few times. Once for lunch and twice for dinner. Are they my first choice for sushi prob not but they are solid. Nothing to write home about and open on Xmas In case you want an alternative to Chinese food so one extra star for that. The yellowtail poppers were great. The presentation on specialty roles is nice. And nobody has even been sick from this place as far as I know.

Delicious sushi for an absolutely unbeatable price! My wife and I stopped in here for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised. The wedding staff was kind and offered great conversation. The ginger salad had a delicious creamy dressing and the sushi was very good! Value for money this is truly unbelievable!

This establishment is located near the 417 exit on Aloma. There is a parking lot available for all the shops there. I came here to meet up with a friend for lunch. The place is deceptively big with plenty of seating. The lunch specials they have are very reasonable and include a soup or salad. I ordered hot tea and the sashimi platter with a salad. The hot tea came with the cutest tea pot and cup and stayed hot throughout. The salad is what you'd expect and the ginger dressing was good. The platter was filling and as mentioned before reasonably priced for lunch. The plating was beautiful. While I didn't get any other rolls other than the California that came with the platter, I think next time I may just offer some rolls. The sushi was good but it didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked compared to some other sushi experiences. That being said, the service was quick and efficient and the person I ate lunch with really enjoyed the rolls she got. Will go back to give them another shot for sushi and/or try some of their other non-sushi plates.

I've had Koi Sushi in my bookmarks for a while now and have finally had an opportunity to stop in for a bite. We arrived about an hour before closing time and were welcomed with open arms. It wasn't too busy so we were able to choose from several open tables. The restaurant is not too large but big enough to provide a relaxed dining experience. Our server Hayden was very friendly and was prompt with bringing our drinks. After placing our orders it took about 20 minutes for our meals to arrive. Nancy and I both ordered our own seaweed salad appetizer ($5.50 each). They provide the perfect quantity for the price too, no filler here. Nancy chose the Hollywood Roll ($5.95) and the Tampa Roll ($5.50), which were both delicious. I chose two of the higher priced rolls, the House Special ($13.50) and the Lover Tuna Roll ($10.95), which were excellent. If you don't mind spending the extra money, I recommend ordering at least one of the chefs special rolls; they are on point, especially the fried ones. We washed our meals down with an ice cold yuengling for only $4, not bad. Be sure to check in on Yelp when arriving, first time customers receive a 15% discount off their check, can't be at that deal!! I saved almost $8 on our dinner ;) Thank you Koi Management! We were in and out in less than an hour, pretty amazing with only one chef on duty and several other tables arriving after us. All-in-all, if you're looking for great sushi in a relaxed setting with friendly staff, I highly recommend checking out Koi Sushi.

    chicken teriyaki lunch bento box

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and was seated right away--no wait, which was a nice start. The miso soup was actually really good: flavorful and filled with seaweed and tofu. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn't live up to that first impression. The chicken teriyaki tasted more like plain boiled/stir fried chicken breast with a light sauce than actual teriyaki. The gyoza filling was pretty bland, and even the dipping sauce didn't help much. The California rolls were small and just okay, not much to say there. That said, the service was great. The staff was attentive and very kind, which definitely made the experience better. I'd give the food 1 star, but the excellent service earns it a second.

When I'm in the area of UCF, I'm constantly looking for good options for food. I've found a few, and was happy to add Koi as another. Priced very well, the fish was fresh, the roll wasn't overwhelmed with rice, and the presentation was good. While my tasting was limited, I will surely return for more.

This is a solid choice for sushi in Oveido! It's a little less formal than other spots, but the sushi was fresh and tasty, and the prices were great (insider tip: Check in on Yelp and you MIGHT get a 15% off to use!) The menu is huge! We came on Friday evening and it was pretty dead, surprisingly. But it was later in the evening and this area seems rather quiet. It's located in a little strip mall so parking was a breeze. We ordered squid, tuna, and smoked salmon sashimi. We also ordered the Sweet Heart Roll, Fire Island Roll, then decided we needed one last night cap and finished off with the Dynamite roll. Really tasty! Our waiter was very attentive and on top of his game! Friendly, too. I would definitely come back here, especially for a casual sushi lunch or dinner. If you're looking for something a little more fancy, other places may fit the bill better, but I recommend Koi as a solid option when in the area and needing a quick sushi fix.

Great food and awesome service! We had the bento box and 2 kinds of sushi. Also tried the apple/pear/lychee sake, and it was delicious! Will be back!

Krab Special Roll Chef Spl. A little stingy on the scallop (on top) and eel sauce.

I'm always looking for fresh sushi places. Decided to give this little spot a try. It's in a shopping/restaurant area that gets pretty congested. So glad I didn't give up looking for a spot to park! The restaurant itself wasn't busy at all. Not sure why this hidden gem wasn't packed. The cucumber salad I ordered was quite the beautiful presentation (see picture). It was equally as delicious as it looked. My Krab Special Roll was pretty tasty too! A complaint would be that a majority of their rolls have cream cheese in them. Not my favorite item for a sushi roll. Also, a little stingy with the scallop topping and surrounding sauces. Other than that, it's a legit lunch spot!

Wow! I am so glad I found this place! Staff were incredible- Very friendly and great customer service. The food was very fresh and they had lots of different options of sushi rolls and they also have hibachi! I only had the sushi, sashimi as appetizer, and seaweed salad but I will be back to try the hibachi! I love that they didn't load the rolls with so much rice the way some other places do! I was able to taste the great quality fish!! And the prices are great too!! I highly recommend.

We came here because the other sushi place in Oviedo was closed. So happy we did. We had 4 rolls - Tigar, Butterfly, forest, and crazy roll. Our most favorite was the Tigar but they were all exceptional. Very little rice which I love. Nice sauces and excellent service. Will definitely return.

The restaurant is on the smaller side (about 6-7 tables) with additional bar seating, which adds to the cozy, authentic feel. The Vibe: Small, intimate, and focused--this is the kind of place where you know the food is the star. One small note: I didn't see any beer options--just soft drinks and teas. Not a dealbreaker, but I do usually enjoy a beer with ramen, so it was a bit of a miss for me. What We Ordered: * Cucumber Salad * Chicken Karaage * Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen * Spicy Miso Ramen Standout Bites: The cucumber salad was incredibly fresh with the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and salty. The chicken karaage was exactly what you want--crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. Perfect crunch, perfect bite. Then came the ramen... Both the spicy tonkotsu and spicy miso broths were rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The noodles had that ideal chewy texture, and the pork was thinly sliced, tender, and full of flavor. Rich broth, chewy noodles, melt-in-your-mouth pork. Overall: This is hands down the best ramen I've had since visiting Japan, which says a lot. We left already planning our next visit. Pro tip: Arrive early for lunch--seating is limited and fills up quickly.

If you're looking for a cozy, reliable sushi spot with consistently fresh flavors, **Sushi Kawa**…read moreis one of those places that quietly earns a spot on your regular rotation. Tucked into Winter Park, this spot has a more **intimate, laid-back vibe** compared to the bigger, busier sushi restaurants in the Orlando area -- and honestly, that's part of its charm. It's not overly flashy, but it feels comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for when you just want good sushi without the chaos. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels relaxed. It's a great place for a casual dinner, a low-key date night, or even a solo meal when you're craving something fresh and satisfying. Now let's get into the food -- because that's what keeps people coming back. The **sushi here is consistently fresh and well-prepared**. The fish tastes clean, the rice is seasoned just right, and everything is presented simply but nicely. It's one of those places where you can tell they focus on doing the basics really well. Their **roll selection** offers a nice balance of classic options and specialty rolls, so whether you're a traditional sushi lover or someone who likes a little creativity, there's something for you. Nothing feels overcomplicated -- just solid, flavorful rolls that hit the spot every time. If you're starting off, the **miso soup** is warm and comforting -- simple but exactly what you want. And if you're exploring beyond sushi, they also have a variety of **Japanese entrées and appetizers** that round out the menu nicely. Service is another highlight. The staff are **friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming**, making the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. You never feel rushed, which adds to that relaxed dining experience. Portions are fair, prices are reasonable, and overall it's a great value for the quality you're getting. **Final thoughts:** Fresh, clean, and consistently good sushi Cozy, relaxed atmosphere Friendly and attentive service Great balance of classic and specialty rolls Perfect for a chill, no-fuss sushi night Sushi Kawa may not be the flashiest spot in town, but it delivers where it matters most -- quality, consistency, and a comfortable experience. Definitely a hidden gem in Winter Park that's worth coming back to.

Sushi Kawa - Winter Park…read more Sushi Kawa is a small sushi spot tucked next to Crunch Fitness in Winter Park. The space itself is simple and cozy, with minimal décor and soft lights that create a quiet, relaxed environment. It feels like a very local neighborhood sushi place. From what I could see, there were only two chefs and one server running the place, but the staff was friendly and attentive. We started with miso soup, which unfortunately came out barely lukewarm -- a little disappointing since a hot bowl of miso is usually such a comforting start. The seaweed salad was your typical version you'd expect at most sushi spots. I was a bit sad to see they didn't offer cucumber salad, which is usually one of my favorites to pair with sushi. One appetizer that really stood out was the Tuna Crackers. This dish includes spicy tuna served on crispy fried shrimp chips topped with avocado slices, eel sauce, garlic sauce, masago, and scallions. It was surprisingly delicious with a great crunch and a nice mix of textures and flavors. The Hamachi carpaccio was decent, though it lacked the brightness and flavor I usually expect from this dish. Not bad, just not something I'd rush to order again. The Tuna Tataki, on the other hand, was excellent. The tuna was paired with ponzu sauce, sesame oil, scallions, and masago. Simple but very flavorful -- definitely one of the highlights of the meal. For sushi rolls, we tried the Dark Side of the Rainbow. It had a bit more kick than expected, almost like a surprise heat factor. Unfortunately, the fish didn't taste as fresh as I would've liked, and there was a bit too much sauce on top for my preference. The baked mussels were different from the typical version you see at many sushi restaurants. Instead of a creamy topping baked directly on the shell, they actually chopped and sautéed imitation crab and then placed it back on the shell. Interesting concept, but not quite what I was anticipating. As someone who almost always orders eel at sushi restaurants, I was looking forward to it here, but the eel sauce leaned a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, Sushi Kawa offers decent pricing for basic sushi quality. While the fish may not be the freshest of the fresh, it's still a solid neighborhood spot that's worth trying if you're in the area and looking for something casual and convenient.

Everyone received their starters, the blonde waitress asked if I wanted one as well. When I said yes, she responded with "bro, it's not going to be free," which made the interaction very awkward for everyone at the table since I never even asked for the starter in the first place and was just very unprofessional. Later, one of my friends received shrimp tempura that was translucent, raw, and slimy in the middle. When we politely mentioned it, both the waitress and host repeatedly questioned whether we were sure it was raw. At one point the waitress even asked something along the lines of "so do you want this for free or something?" which felt accusatory and uncomfortable. We're familiar with tempura/sushi dishes in general and understand that something can be fried on the outside but still undercooked inside. The repeated doubt came across as dismissive and a bit condescending. She also said she would "pray" for one of my friends which was a very strange and off-putting comment in that situation. It just felt like she was doubting us and in general it made us feel bad for even bringing it up in the first place. The item did end up being comped, which we appreciated, but that didn't change the interaction we had or the comments that were made. We weren't there trying to get free items, so the assumptions and tone from our server made the whole situation feel uncomfortable and strange. Overall, we did enjoy the food, but the service made the dinner uncomfortable and left us feeling judged rather than welcomed. Since I've had good experiences here in the past, I hope this feedback is taken constructively so future guests have a better experience.
