I've been wanting to try Wa Sushi for a while and finally got the opportunity on a random Thursday. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised with my experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is nicely decorated and intimate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sushi rolls were tasty and fresh. The service was good but it took a bit to order and receive food. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Great quality sushi that also has a 5 course Omakase option. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's located in a strip mall so pretty unassuming spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It would make a good good place for lunch or night out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you like tuna, they have the Bluefin Tuna Experience which are high quality cuts of premium pieces. Service was friendly and helpful too and highlighted the menu pretty well.

I vetted every single Magical Dining Month menu in Orlando, and I picked the top six to eat at this year. Wa Sushi easily made that list. Very unique items, amazing sounding sushi items, and a fun dessert that you don't see everywhere. Let's begin, shall we? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was really nice. It's very cozy. Dimly lit, a small hallway leading to the sushi bar. And on that sushi bar was a displayed giant tuna head. I was shocked. It was a very cook centerpiece to the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was also very nice. Our server was very nice, from Japan herself, so she helped us pick the best options for us. Food came out at a good pace. We didn't feel hurried or anything. Drinks kept flowing all night. Apps Ninja (spicy tuna, shiso and squid rolled with nori then tempura fried; topped with chili oil, eel sauce, masago, scallion and sesame seed). This was a lot of fun, never had it before. Nice flavor combo with the tuna and the squid, made a little earthy with the shiso, and then made super crispy with the tempura frying. Tako Karaage (Japanese style deep fried marinaded octopus). Another thing I've never had. Nice little chunks of tentacles fried in the super crispy karaage style. Not too chewy, served with a nice, slightly spicy Japanese mayo. Love it. Mains Samurai Roll and Ultimate Tuna Roll (our top 2 best-selling rolls). Two beautiful, contrasting rolls. One roll with very delicious fried eel on top, one with very fresh tuna on top. The best of both worlds of rolls. Solid choice. Nigiri Moriawase (20th Anniversary Dish) (10 pieces of Chef's selection of nigiri) (Upgrade to grand nigiri moriawase). Yes, we upgraded. We asked what the difference was, and it just seemed like a very enjoyable addition of different seafood. Some stand-outs being the toro, of course, the scallop, and the always lovely amberjack. Worth the upgrade. Dessert So a dessert caveat. The MDM menu online says that they have tempura cheesecake on the menu, but they don't. And they won't let you get it, I asked. So don't be fooled. But the two desserts we ended up getting were excellent and I wasn't too butt hurt at all. Matcha Cheesecake (creamy cheesecake infused with premium matcha, perfectly smooth with a light green tea finish). This was insane. It was a warm matcha cheesecake. Ultra creamy, just matcha-y enough, and a nice bite from the crust. This was a great dessert. Matcha crepe cake (Japanese twist on the French classic of paper-thin crepes layered with matcha cream). One of the best desserts I've had in years. So many layers. So much texture play between those layers and the cream. It was so delicate, I would have a hard time believing that it wasn't made in-house. Overall, wow, this little sushi shop in a strip mall really blew my mind. Not only did I love supporting them for participating in Magical Dining, but I also loved my meal, and I can't wait to come back one day.

Pros: This place participated in Magical Dining Month, which I love. Participating takes a lot of effort, but is good for the city, and I support restaurants who support our city. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is very nice. Never would have guessed there was a cozy little sushi bar inside this random strip mall. But it was very cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was very good! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, the food and the sakes. And the food was also very good. Very unique appetizers that you don't see everywhere. Quite the variety of nigiri for the mains. And neat little desserts that seemed made in house. Cons: No real cons. A nice evening. Tips: If you're tired of seeing the same ol nigiri, go for the upgrade to the more seasonal fish. We did, and we did not regret it.

Extremely nice and attentive service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy atmosphere and ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Being seated at the bar, the chefs always made sure we were having a nice time and are food tasted good. My friend and I did the Omakase Lite. I LOVED everything except for the Japanese yam dish on the first course and the dessert of tomato jelly. The consistencies were just odd, it was still fun to try but I wouldn't have ordered them on my own. The omakase lite is 100% worth it. Fresh ingredients, explanation of all the dishes, and they all came out with perfect timing. I make sushi and seafood at home and it's just so nice to be able to relax and be presented with amazing food without having to worry about sourcing, prepping, cooking, and plating. The tuna sashimi second course was delicious, I've never tried such a variety of delicious tuna cuts on one plate. Loved anything that had uni on it. Wagyu nigiri was DELICIOUS. So tender and beefy, I understood why they served it on a different plate than the rest of the nigiri. Plum soda doesn't taste much like plum, little tartness. Loved the smoked soy sauce. By the fourth course, we were both full and take the 4th and 5th course home. If you wanted to, two people could easily split the omakase lite if you also order and appetizer or additional fish on the side. Wa Sushi also did an amazing job of providing substitutes for my lactose intolerance. My favorites of the night were the first course (not the Japanese yam with miso) and the nigiri (especially the wagyu).

    Bluefin tuna!

We went for their 10-year anniversary celebration where they featured bluefin tuna. If you've never had bluefin tuna, it is the wagyu of the sushi world. They had a special on bluefin for their anniversary and we had to stop by. The sushi here is incredibly fresh. We were one of the first three tables of the day and the service was quick and friendly. We even got a free sushi roll for being one of the first 10 tables. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is beautiful but it is a little small so make sure to get there early if you're trying to grab a quick lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm sure as a day goes on it gets packed by the time we were leaving, the restaurant was almost full. It seems like a little hidden gem so if you haven't tried it out you should go check them out before they get too popular.

    TAKO KARAAGE

We visited WA sushi on a saturday evening for an early dinner. They seated us immediately, and our server was awesome. I ordered a chirashi and my companion ordered a couple of rolls. We also started with the tako karaage which was really good. It was crispy and correctly cooked. The chirashi was really a generous serving. It had tons of fish on it. I do wish I'd had a little more wasabi, but otherwise it was a perfect dish. Everything was super fresh and served at the perfect temp. This place was so great, and we'll definitely be back. I'd love to try their omakase at some point too.

I went around 810p after finally deciding where to grab dinner, not realizing that they were offering a $40 three course meal. The fried octopus was crispy on the outside with a soft, tender meat inside which I totally enjoyed. The two rolls: samurai and ultimate tuna were filling and so good that I gleefully ate them. My dessert was the fried cheesecake with vanilla ice cream and it topped off my wonderful meal with the perfect level of sweetness and crunch. I cannot recall my servers name but she was very attentive and friendly. The service was wonderful, very A+ for everything.

I stopped into Wa Sushi for lunch and I really had a great lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's in a strip of stores but when you step inside the ambiance is giving very much Japan which was awesome![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sushi was high quality, not fishy at all and it came a pretty decent price off their lunch menu! This set also came with a sea sesame dressing house salad which was tasty. Our server was so sweet, patient and kind. I really appreciated her. If you're looking for some quality sushi, definitely stop in.

Hands down one of my favorite sushi places not only in Casselberry but also Central Florida! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff is amazing, the food is fresh and the restaurant is quaint and homie.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend stopping by. They are closed Sundays, open the rest of the week from 11:30-2:30, they reset and reopen 5:00-9:00. OK I can't finish my nails. It's fine. I'll go in the other room. I'll have to sit in the tile. I just need light. I'm trying to go slow because you know how bad I am a painting, my nails, and I am wearing sandals and.P

FRESH, good quality nigiri/sashimi. I am very particular about where I will eat raw fish. This is the most affordable sushi restaurant I know of that still meets my high standards. It's fresh and has a good texture (buttery, melt in your mouth), not "chewy" or "fishy." Keep in mind that although it's not in the menu, they sometimes have other cuts of the fish available, like Salmon Belly, which I like to order. Their ramen is better than most other ramen spots in central Florida. I like the spicy miso ramen the most. They have great daily specials that change regularly. The lunch deals are very good. Recently, they also started a thing where you roll some dice to determine what other free item or discount you will get. I haven't tried a lot of their rolls yet since I am more of a nigiri/sashimi person but I can vouch for the Inferno Roll (ask to substitute the spicy mayo with their spicy Kobachi sauce instead!). The jalapeño hamachi appetizer is always a good choice. The banana tempura dessert here is classic and you can't go wrong with it. It's satisfying to have the crispy, warm banana with the cold ice cream. They have a unique selection of imported beers and sakes. But I am personally happy with just my gold and RED Funaguchi (kikusui). Good service! Especially, Julian, Kaye, Emma (Emily), and Molly. On weekday lunch times, this isn't really an issue; However, please note this is a small restaurant with limited staff and chefs. It often gets extremely busy and takes a while to get your food. If you don't have a reservation on popular nights, be prepared for a long wait list. Always come here with patience and don't be in a rush!

Great fresh sushi, that really hits the spot. I come here often for their sushi lunch special that has 2 rolls for $15. I get it with the Philly and shrimp tempura roll. I wish they had mor e variety on their lunch menu. The lunch set is a way better band for your buck though. As a whole this place is great but they charge $1 for eel sauce though and they always give the container practically empty.. I even mention it when I place the order iver the phone. The one pictured below is an unused eel sauce that they charged $1 for. Which as you can see it's almost empty. If you're going to charge for eel sauce at least fill it up.

Its been a good 6 months since Ive been here since it further from me but when I saw they had a $2 blue fin tuna sashimi and nigiri special, I knew it was time to return. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is somewhat of a gem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not overly crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Decent pricing. Fresh selection. Enjoyed it like always.

Our server Michelle was very nice and offered good input to our questions about the dishes. We also had the honor to talk with Chef Henry Moso- we had a great conversation about the sushi and he even presented us with a dish. Grateful and delighted! kabooki's quality and execution of the dishes are a work of art! Both times we sat at sushi table and watched all the sushi chefs doing their magic was a great show. We started with the hamachi carpaccio and the beef carpaccio and both were chefs kiss We had the bluefin tasting which was great progression of variety of bluefin. Mauro Truffle, Kona Kampachi, leche de Tigro were tasty unique options. The use of micro greens and flowers was really pretty besides being tasty!! Definitely worth checking out!!

The Coconut Shrimp roll was sweet from the coconut sauce and the coconut added a yummy flavor and texture to the roll, as well. If you like coconut and sweet rolls, you'll love this. The Florida roll was GAS ! I just started getting into spicy food and spicy tuna recently and this was just perfect. The right amount of bite and the spicy tuna on top tasted so good. It seems like they mash it up, which makes it easier to chew than typical raw tuna. A great savory roll and the flavor profile was just right, adding the eel sauce was a nice touch. The Alaska Roll speaks for itself, I mean look at that mountain of crunch I got it both times I went (inadvertently). I think I got it right with the name... I was calling it the volcano roll, but that has mango sauce on it. This one has kani on top and cream cheese inside and probably shrimp tempura. I really loved this roll, like a mountain of flavor every bite. The atmosphere is small with authentic looking Japanese decor and quiet. A nice spot for a week day dinner (might get crowded on the weekend). Really great food though overall. Ate these rolls as leftovers both times and was good the next day

I would come back just to try other items but the three rolls I ordered off the lunch menu were 1. Seared tuna scallion roll (6 pieces and rather small) 2.
