We were able to order the special rolls so we got the kamakazi, old crony and Bangkok special with gyoza. Incredible deal for 2 people. Staff was friendly and wearing masks. We could dine in. Went for my first time and won't be back. Thanks n a Saturday night they only had one server and turned people away. We sat in the bar area and had stellar service, but looked like the restaurant side was lacking. We could see into the kitchen and they had at least 5 people working back there, but one bartender and one server? The chef seemed all over the place walking back and forth between areas. We ordered one roll, yakisoba bowl, ramen and kids chicken nuggets. Sadly, the chicken nuggets were the best thing on the table. The yakisoba was colorful and pretty, but the steak was more like ground beef. The ramen had oil across the top of the cloudy broth, the egg yolk was hard, noodles not cooked enough and still in a clump, and the meat was dry even in the broth. We accidentally got served a kids chicken Samaria bowl and that was pretty good too. The order and time of items coming out is beyond me... first the yakisoba, then ramen, then roll and last the kids meal. Seemed completely backwards. The restaurant had booming thumping music as if it were a night club. If it sounded that bad in the bar side, I can't imagine eating in the restaurant side. There is so much potential in this place but it seems as if the chef need some direction and they desperately need wait staff. I wouldn't bother going back. I can get a noodle bowl for 1/2 the price and 1/3 of the wait time at Teriyaki Madness or Tepenyaki. Kudos to the bartender. read more

I called to order at 3:23pm exactly I was told that the wait would be about an hour so I waited, an hour and 40 minutes went by so I called to see what was going on the girl on the phone said "your order is sitting right here I will send a driver out to deliver it" that was exactly at 5:03. We've been here a handful of times. Service is slow. It good just slow. Food is good. Once and in awhile there is a miscommunication. For example, I dont eat jalapenos. I find them in my rolls the hard way. Today, we have been sitting here for 40 mins. Drinks are empty, it really is the only place you can count on to get your meal before your appetizers. Friday night, a busy night at Himiko, but since the remodel that's just a matter of waiting for a bit at the front bar. So, what a surprise when we're seated, after starting with a grapefruit beer (yummy), at the sushi bar, and within minutes our appetizer orders are in front of us, and our sushi chef has taken our first order(yes all you can eat). Well the food delivery was much improved, as we've sat through the dismal performance since the remodel. With that said, an hour later we were full to content, ending with a Quail Egg Shooter. The worst sushi I have ever had in a restaurant. A terribly bizarre atmosphere. If you're not from Elko and have an appreciation for sushi stay far away from this place. The rice in my roll was mushy and opaque. Similar to the nasty sushi that you get in a grocery store that's been sitting all day. Went for lunch and they are blasting free Pandora with commercials. BLASTING!! My guess was it was the Toni Braxton 1993 station. You had to yell above the music. Eventually hubby and I just gave up talking and laughed at the absurdity of it all. Our hot tea was luke warm. They forgot to give me my Miso soup. Everything sucked so bad I told them to forget about it. Hubby and I both agreed we should have just stayed home. The three of us were very disappointed especially after working on a fire for two weeks and having camp food. The restaurant itself was clean and had a great atmosphere. This is our second time here, the first time we really enjoyed the food. This time the customer service and the food was awful! We ordered gyoza, two sushi rolls, and fries with blue cheese dip. We waited 30 minutes before getting the water we order to drink and then another 15 minutes before the food minus the gyoza came out. I reminded her server that we didn't get the gyoza and he said we had to wait on the kitchen. We finished our food, never got a refill on water and still didn't get any gyoza. I reminded the server again, after a 10 minute wait I just asked him to cancel it and to bring us our check. The check included the gyoza that we did not get. I mentioned it to the server and took the ticket and took another 10 minutes before bringing us the corrected ticket. No apologize or anything, we will not be returning! read more

You'll have to remember that you're in Elko. Someone who knows about Japanese food set up the menu. Yakisoba, Udon, and Curry Tonkatsu are good. Sushi is hybrid style, not necessarily authentic. Overall, I am a fan and come here fairly regularly. I do wish they had more beers on tap. read more

As we walked in, it was a total bar atmosphere, since we are dining in, we were ushered to the dining room at the back which was a pleasant surprise. It was dinner time, tables already filing up. Gets pretty cramped once it's crowded and you're almost bumping elbows with the diners surrounding you, but during off hours you could comfortably lose an afternoon in here. So I arrived at himiko around 11:05, 5 mins after the posted opening. As I walked in the front door there was no one there so I waited. I then wandered aimlessly for a bit trying to be patient for someone to seat me. I then walked to the back and asked if they were even open? The sushi chef said yes but then just walked to the back. I then walked back to the front in hopes of meeting a hostess but still no one. 15 mins into this ordeal I then walk back to the sushi bar area and spoke to who I think is the bartender and asked if the sushi bar is open for seating? She replys "no" but kindly stops what she is doing to seat me. I promptly get my order in to the sushi bar. Being LITERALLY the only person in the whole restaurant I figured i would be in and out....instead I waited and watched 4 sushi chefs behind the counter mill around and take 45 mins to finally get my order of 3 handrolls out to the table. That left me 10 mins to eat before I had to get back to my class at 12 pm. The Hamachi I ordered was not cleaned properly due to multiple scales I had to take out of my mouth and might not have been the freshest because of a really fishy taste. The rolls are VERY good...BUT... They do not maximize their space. There is a party room the could open up when they are busy, assuming no one has booked it that night. The waitstaff lacks common sense; we had to ask to be put on a list since the hostess did not consider making one herself. The miso soup was luke warm, we never got our edamame, and they didn't have all the ingredients for the dessert we wanted. Frankly, a new name and location did not change the fact this is still the same old Kubuki with the same old staff. If the rolls weren't so good, we wouldn't return. FYI: We went on a Wednesday night, I would hate to see it on a weekend or during a festival. Oh, and when I went to redeem my Yelp voucher, they had no clue what it was! HOLY COW!!! $26 All you can eat lunch??? $31 for dinner??? ABSURD! My family went here for the first time and were blown away by the sushi prices. This is Elko, not New York City. We did not order sushi so my review is for the other dishes. I would never go here for sushi because of the ridiculous pricing. We ordered off the entree menu and got teriyaki chicken bowls, seafood teriyaki and another seafood dish. All of our meals were good and good portions, priced accordingly. My meal was luke warm. I also got an oyster shooter which was bland and had paprika and cayenne around the rim of the glass. It wasn't very good and had no vinegar at all in the mix to give it that burst of bitterness that one would expect from a shooter. Service from our waiter was OK but it took a while for our food to come out while others around us who came in after us were being served. One thing I didn't like was having to pay on the waiter's iPad while he hovered over us to get his iPad back. I like having a paper check so I can look over the items, make sure it's correct and calculate my own tip instead of having to rush through the check, hit a button for a pre-calculated tip, all while the server is waiting for his iPad.
