First of all the service was excellent. Our server was very nice and apologitic. The all you can eat sushi was good except for the pot sticker, frozen in the middle. 2 of our diner ordered bowl and did not get their food for an hour. There were many conversations with the waiter and the manager never came out to talk to us. They gave us a 15% discount because of our waiter but over an hour waiting for food when other people were getting their food is unacceptable.

It's been awhile since I've updated my review and since then, some things have changed! All you can eat sushi is back at Himiko and I couldn't be more excited about it! Upon entering the staff may try to seat you at a table but no worries, if you're there for sushi, you can ask to be seated at the Sushi bar. We asked to sit at the bar for lunch and virtually nobody was there! I like going when it's a bit slower because my food comes out faster. At Himiko, you order sushi only from the man/woman behind the bar. Any drinks and appetizers, or any other kind of food will be placed with, and come from your server. Since my last review, they've also come under new management and I believe it has been for the better so far. My mussels weren't cold this time, and we didn't wait hardly any time for the appetizers to come. My only complaint is that most sushi restaurants will offer "lunch sushi" where 'long rolls' and 'hand rolls' are separated from the 'dinner rolls' and lunch wouldn't include the dinner rolls and the price is cheaper. That's what Himiko needs. A cheaper lunch sushi option. Otherwise, as always, Himiko is the best sushi in Elko. Don't risk the food poisoning at the other place.

Martha and Irish are my favorite sushi's chefs. They put passion and creativity into their work. Thank you!

The food is good, they were short staffed so it was a bit of a wait. That's not why I dropped a star, unlike some very rude people that don't want to understand the problem of being short staffed, my complaint was with the chefs choice sashimi. Generally with 12 pieces you would get 2 of 6 kinds of fish, or even 3 of 4 kinds. This was 4 of 3 kinds. I just rather have a little more variety. The Banana Island was really good and unique.

Flavor was fine but the amount of fish to jalapeño was lacking. Also the rice was a bit dry and crunchy. The have started to do AYCE for $40. A bit too steep for me but at $16 a roll it wouldn't take much to hit the mark.

Visiting Elko, check this place out, really good sushi. Apparently reservations may be necessary. Group of 6 in front of us need to wait an hour, our group of 4 was small enough to get a table just in time. The sushi was great! Service was great, food arrived fresh and fast! I liked the Chef Special, what you want inspired by the chef and Gotta Have it. I enjoyed spicy tuna in the Chef Special, I believe that was the finest spicy tuna sushi I have enjoyed recently! Gotta have it had a lot of ingredients I like. My friends recommended this place and now I see why!

Pretty good sized menu and so were the portions. I went for the chicken katsu and choose fried rice to go with it. Chicken was a little overcooked but tasty nonetheless. Fried rice was great. The wife went with the vegetable and tofu teppanyaki and really enjoyed it also. We shared an order of pot stickers they were the hit of the meal. Loved them and could have another another round but we full up from our entrees. No ambience to speak of but the service was quick and the owner seemed to know every other customer which says a lot! This was one of the last few restaurants we had yet to try since moving to Elko, and it delivered a satisfying surprise. The Food I opted for the tofu and vegetables over noodles with their signature Teppanyaki sauce. The vegetables were cooked just right--tender with a bit of bite--and the tofu was impressively seasoned. My husband had the chicken entrée with rice and vegetables, both generous and flavorful. Each dish came with what they called "egg rolls," though they were actually spring rolls--crispy, light, and a pleasant addition. The Service Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was attentive and kind, though we couldn't catch her name--no name tag in sight. If management reads this, please pass along our thanks to the young woman working the evening shift on September 23rd --she made our visit smooth and welcoming. Teppanyaki has earned its place among Elko's favorites, and with a few tweaks, it can continue to shine even brighter.

Each time we've visited, we placed our order, paid, and then were told after the fact that they were out of key ingredients--an unacceptable and avoidable issue that speaks to poor management and customer service. Most recently, on Thursday, June 5th, we walked in and specifically asked the cashier if they were out of any food before ordering. She assured us everything was available, so I ordered a tofu bowl with noodles and vegetables, and my husband ordered a spicy chicken bowl. After paying, we sat down to wait, only to be approached by a staff member informing us that they were out of spicy tofu--despite confirming its availability beforehand. When I was asked if I'd like to substitute it with chicken, I explained that I am a vegetarian, making the substitution impossible. After three failed attempts to dine here, we've lost any confidence in this establishment's ability to serve customers reliably. Teriyaki Madness needs to address their inventory issues and ensure honest communication with patrons. Until then, we won't be giving them another chance. I would appreciate it if management or corporate could reach out to discuss this situation further. Thank you.

Our server was attentive and answered questions regarding the food and beverages, we had a bottle of Chianti most excellent. The atmosphere was fancy enough to feel Special but not pretentious. May 2026 Elko, N…read more Hmmmmm . . . 3.0 stars. Here is why. Arrived a little after 5 pm on a Friday. Two tables were already sitting. The hostess sat us in a separate room from the main dining room. It was hit brightly by the sun and felt like a second thought of leftover dining. Asked if we could sit in main dining room and she obliged. We asked about the menu and took time to review it. After some time we ordered. My husband had the chicken Alfredo and I ordered the PASTA MILANO which is described as: Chicken, Tomatoes, Mushrooms in a Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce over Penne Pasta. Sounds good right? It could have been good. But it was not. First of all, I never got chicken in the dish. The mushrooms were diced and very few in the dish. The only thing they got right was the tomatoes. I called the waitress over and told her that my dish had no chicken in it. She said well do you want some? I smiled and said well that's what the dish was supposed to come with. So I waited. Then I decided to go ahead and start eating my food because seven minutes went by and I still have no chicken. When the dish was originally served,, I asked the waitress for Parmesan cheese. She said we don't have Parmesan cheese, but we have black pepper. Huh???? of course you have Parmesan cheese. I have it on my Caesar salad. I really don't think she knew what Parmesan cheese was. I just shrugged my shoulders and took a bite of my food. Again, great concept. But the food had NO flavor. I added salt and pepper. Still nothing. I took the balsamic vinegar that was on the table and added it to the dish. There, I finally had flavor in my meal. But still no chicken. Finally, another waitress brings out a plate of squiggly worm like meat. She said, did somebody order chicken at this table? I was disgusted. First of all, it was not pleasant to see it look like that. Also, you should've offered to remake my meal, or at least take it back and mix it with the chicken. But to make me wait until my dishes is half gone and then bring over a plate of chicken is a poor decision. The chicken fettuccine had a good flavor. But the chicken was tough. Hard to chew. Not good flavor. I ordered a n/a Heineken. She brought it in a glass to the table. It was already poured so I don't know if I truly got what I ordered. Also the glass was too large for the amount of beer that was in it. Makes it look like it was half a drink. The waitress was kind, but we did not see much of her. She never offered to refill our bread basket. According to the menu, you get two baskets of bread and then if you want more you have to pay. We only got one basket of bread and never offered anymore. I was looking forward to some good pasta, and this restaurant did not deliver. Very disappointed in the service, and most definitely the food. The waitress took five dollars off of our meal, but she never explained why she did it or why she decided to take that amount of money. She never apologized for my dish, not having any protein, she never apologized for any thing. Management needs to teach staff that they can take ownership of the situation. It is OK to say you are sorry that the chicken was not put in your dish. Let's see what we can do to make it right. That would have gone so far. Instead, it left my attitude about this place as tough as the chicken in the fettuccine was.

We were told no reservations were needed. My wife, two of her friends, and I came in, ordered drinks, and had an exceptional meal. The food quality was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We were enjoying ourselves, having conversation after dinner, and had spent around $300 on the meal. Then, unexpectedly, someone other than our great waitress came to the table and told us we needed to leave because there was a reservation for our table at 7:30. This was shocking and incredibly awkward since there were several open tables including the one next to us that was the exact same size as ours. We were not informed of any time limit when seated, and we had been explicitly told earlier that reservations were not required. Being asked to leave after spending that much money--while still sitting and talking--felt rude and unprofessional. What made it worse: we drove by about 30 minutes later (around 8:00 PM), and the table was empty. No one was seated there. Great food does not excuse poor hospitality. If there are time limits or reservations, customers need to be told up front, not pressured out mid-evening after a premium-priced meal. This experience completely overshadowed what would have otherwise been a great night. Unfortunately, because of how this was handled, we won't be returning.
