This might be one of my favorite easy strolls/walks/hikes in OC. I get hot and overheat easily so I love walks with shade. This path is not completely covered but provides enough shade for when I need a quick stop. During the early months of spring the wild grass, trees, and flowers are in bloom filling the pathway with lush green from top to bottom. Many people walk the Juanita Cooke Trail but not as many travel down onto this path. It feels like you're in a forest yet you're next to neighbors and cul-de-sacs. The trail is shared with horses, bikers, and wallet/joggers. Stay on the trail and be vigilant of bikers passing by. We tend to park by the courthouse off Harbor Blvd. Start off on Juanita Cooke Trail and veer off this trail a little after the half mile mark at the water station. We just went here today as a last minute activity and it was the most gorgeous day.

Don't park there. This happened this last week. When I spoke to the cop to report it, he said he's there all the time for smash and grab reports. Unfortunate.

This is a nice little trail! We started out from Euclid & the street sign "Hiltscher Trail" crossing. It connects to Juanita Cooke Trail and also Laguna Park. If you combine all three trails, it makes a nice long walk. We did a little of all three trails and my cell tracker showed we did close to 6 miles roundtrip. Although it doesn't really have any inclines (if you want to count a few going in/out of Bastanchury Rd., but it definitely makes up for it by long distance walking/jogging options What it does offer that most don't is a lot of areas of shade! If your more of an incline person, this trail will disappoint and probably bore you. I myself love inclines, but am open to ones that are flat. If you do the trail to Laguna Park, the one perk is that there are restrooms there. Laguna Park (another review), a cute man made lake that offers fishing, is a nice pit stop to refresh yourself and you can even make it a quick picnic if you wish, before heading back on the trails Although it is a nice neighborhood where it's located, women should always exercise precaution and have a buddy or two to go with. I say this, because of the recent events at Griffith Park and also on the day we went, saw a strange man (that appeared homeless) creped out of nowhere and was glad I was not by myself. It doesn't matter how nice the area is, people do appear out of the wood work of every nook and cranny and you have to be defensive for your own safety now a days. There are horse stalls on some property's along the way, so you get a nice view of the horses and the scent of being on a farm. I loved it! On most warm/hot days always be on the lookout for snakes. I recommend this one to those who love to do long walks and can't do inclines, it's really a nice, quaint little trail in the city of Fullerton. There are some spots (once you familiarize yourself with it) that you can park and start the trail, I don't remember offhand the names of the streets, but its easy to figure out after the first time you go. Happy Trails!

We love this trail and go on it through out the year as much as we can! It's a beautiful wooded path which blooms brightly during the winter months after the rains. My 9 year old son has taken his bike on this path for years! So grateful for this in our neighborhood!

I'm so glad we have this much nature within the city. I really couldn't be around large groups of people today so I chose this nature walk for self care. I'm so going to brag about this in therapy tonight lol it's so beautiful! I love looking at all the different architecture from the backs of peoples houses. A lot of them have gardens and they're so pretty just tranquil once you look at them.

Based on my overall first impression. Loved the peaceful atmosphere, easy trail (at least the first 2 miles) If you're looking to start walking and get into the cardio spirit , I highly recommend you give this a try.

This is an all dirt trail so I wouldn't wear your nicest shoes. It's mostly a flat terrain so it's nice for jog. I see dogs everywhere so this trail is definitely dog-friendly. Not too much shade here but there are lots of trees. The Juanita Cooke trail and the Hiltscher Park connect so you can get lost if you aren't paying attention to the signs, but this is really easy and I would recommend it for runners. It's not challenging at all. I always park at the Fullerton courthouse where there is ample parking. Easy enough for children to walk and for people to take their strollers or bikes because the paths are wide. Lots of nice houses to admire and if you're lucky, you'll see someone riding their horse on the trail.

Very short flat hike, maybe a mile back and forth. Some shade. Found a swing where we started. Peaceful, only one rooster from the neighbors backyards. No water anymore. Good amount of trees to bring hammocks for. One hidden bench to eat on.

I enjoy walking the trail here. I usually pump out a workout on my lunch hour and walk the trail. Although it isn't very long it is a beautiful sight. I enjoy all the trees and wildlife around. There are some beautiful back yards from large homes that border the trail and I enjoy looking at them too!! Some have horses which are out and trotting. Love how the sun shines they the trees!!

I love this place! Fortunately it's close to my house so I bike here at least a few times a week. It's very serene and you forget that you're in Fullerton. The only annoying thing is that many of the people walking like to, illogically, walk right in the middle of the path. Also, people bring their dogs here but I wouldn't recommend it because of the many cyclists that zoom through.

Parking was very limited at that time, so plan ahead if you're going early. Clearly, a lot of people know this is the spot for a serious workout. The stairs themselves are brutal in the best way possible. After about three rounds, my legs were completely done--but it's such an effective workout. This place really gets your cardio in fast, and you feel accomplished every time you finish a round. The views along the way make it even more worth it. We also came back later in the day around 5:30 PM. It starts to get a bit dark around that time, so that's something to keep in mind, but it's still a great experience and totally worth it. Overall, if you're looking for a challenging, fun, and effective outdoor workout, Hillcrest Park stairs deliver every time. Just be ready for sore legs and limited parking during peak hours.

There are 400+ steps to climb up and down. The steps are made of timber but could be wet and slippery from early morning dew, so I feel that a late morning trek is better when the stairs are dry. On my second visit, I went around 6 PM. Although the stairs are well lit, I just did not feel safe. I found myself alone at one point and looking behind me, checking if someone is coming out of the dark bushes. Maybe it's just me... But overall, if you would like to hit your 10K steps and/or your target heart rate, this is a fun way to go!

My kid had fun playing on both sides. They also have swings and a cool little gyro-spinning thing for the kids. We did visit the bathroom while there and it was pretty no frills, but several rolls of toilet paper and some hand soap outside, so that was a plus. I went there with someone, and the moment we stepped into the park, I felt this bright, open energy that reminded me of the same playful excitement I felt when I visited Funko Hollywood. The whole place felt alive in a way I didn't expect from a park. What really stood out to me right away was how many teenagers were there. They were walking around the trails, relaxing under the trees, taking pictures near the lake, and just enjoying the space in a natural, comfortable way. Seeing so many teenagers made the park feel even more vibrant, almost like it was designed for them to have a place where they could be themselves. As I walked around, I appreciated how easy it was to enjoy everything without feeling rushed. The park is big enough to explore but not so big that it feels overwhelming. The lake area especially has this peaceful atmosphere that still feels exciting because of all the activity happening around it. I saw teenagers taking photos with the water behind them, and the scenery looked so good that it almost felt like a real outdoor version of those fun, creative photo spots at Funko Hollywood. Everything was free, which makes it even better for teenagers who want a place to hang out, take pictures, and have fun without spending money. I only visited Ralph B. Clark Park one time before making this review, but it left a strong impression on me. I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked deeper into the park and saw the trails, the open fields, the museum building, and all the little areas where people were relaxing. The experience turned out exactly the way I hoped it would. It reminded me how much I enjoy places that feel youthful, open, and creative. In the summertime of 2024, I learned that I am still physically and mentally 18 years old even though I have lived for 24 years, and that sense of youthfulness connected perfectly with the atmosphere of this park. My prefrontal cortex may be more developed than the average 25 year old's, but that does not stop me from appreciating places that make me feel playful, sharp, and relaxed at the same time. Ralph B. Clark Park is honestly one of the most enjoyable outdoor places I have been to in a long time. It has that perfect mix of calm and excitement that teenagers love, and it gives them a space to talk, laugh, take pictures, walk around, and feel creative without any pressure. I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it is the kind of place where they can have fun, feel comfortable, and make memories in a setting that feels safe, open, and full of life.
