I brought my kids here after our Sunday morning breakfast during the heat wave. I couldn't even begin to say how thankful I was for the shade. It was absolutely baking. I love the equipment variety and condition it was in. My girls had a load of fun and everything was spread out enough not to make it feel cramped. The only dislike about this place are the wood chips. Rubber would have been so much better but I get it's a more cost effective way to handle things. Great playground. Will bring the kids back soon.

Came on a cool morning around 8:30am. No one around. Looks like new equipments for 5-12 yr. right next to the bathrooms. pretty clean wood chips. It's was peaceful. There were other people running, riding bikes, and walking their dogs.

Very cool park for toddlers that we take Ian to once in a while. Pros: Play area is under shade. (+1) Adventurous play sections. (+1) Not crowded at all. (+1) Good vantage point for adults to supervise their kids. Kids cannot run away from the play area onto any nearby road with vehicles. Cons: None. This is a must try place to all Fullerton parents, in my opinion.

This place has one huge kids play area. The play area is only for 5-12 years of age. The play area is quite difficult for toddlers to enjoy. It has two swings. One adult swing that's a bit too low to the ground for an actual adult to ride on. Another swing that's for toddlers, but doesn't have a closing on one side so only kids who knows how to hold on can ride on the swing. Minus one star for not having diversity on play area. However the play area has lots of good shade which is a big plus. There are lots of parking spots. This sports complex is located near a residential area so it looks pretty hidden from the main streets. The play area is located further down the hill.

We had so much fun here. It's so spacious, plenty of parking, bathroom, food kiosk (no healthy options though) shaded playground and baseball fields. It actually took us a while to get there. But it was totally worth it. I'd say it's in my top 10 favorite parks and we will be back (:

Ask the Community - Fullerton Sports Complex

04.2021: does anyone know if the playground is open?

Yes it's open. It's new equipment for 5-12 years old. The current photos are old. We went this morning to see if it was open.

    Has the playground reopened?

Not as of 9/28/20. There's a fence around the structure that you can get through but the equipment is really dirty

Park is currently closed. Anyone know why and for how long?

As of 10/11 it's still closed. Should be opened by now. Not sure why.

There are 400+ steps to climb up and down. The steps are made of timber but could be wet and slippery from early morning dew, so I feel that a late morning trek is better when the stairs are dry. On my second visit, I went around 6 PM. Although the stairs are well lit, I just did not feel safe. I found myself alone at one point and looking behind me, checking if someone is coming out of the dark bushes. Maybe it's just me... My kid had fun playing on both sides. They also have swings and a cool little gyro-spinning thing for the kids. We did visit the bathroom while there and it was pretty no frills, but several rolls of toilet paper and some hand soap outside, so that was a plus. It's quite spacious and there are just such a variety of activities for kids, from playing in a ball pit, to stacking random foam blocks, to playing in an area filled with random electronic entertainment (like mario kart and coloring fish), to actual play area with slides and padded obstacles. Even after seeing some of the lower reviews, I still think it is relatively clean considering the amount of traffic the weekend or evening may bring. I didn't really see anything that was broken or not working, and even when the mario kart system bugged out and was on a default screen, a staff member quickly did a reset and got it back into working order within 10 minutes or so. A consideration to be made is the fact that not all the parents are attentive with their kids, so there were definitely some kids that are just disrupting other kids playing or being obnoxious/rude. It's inevitable but also makes it feel like some parents literally just let their kids do whatever with little supervision, knowing that they are within the indoor playground. For example, my 1 year old was sitting on the padded carousel, and an older kid (at least 6 y.o.) jumped into the middle of the carousel and started dancing around wildly, which would've been fine until he almost fell on top of my much smaller child. It should also be noted that the area was marked for 2 y.o. or younger, but there's pretty much no enforcement of the space. Otherwise, it's a really cool spot for kids to burn a few hours and I still think it's remarkable that they fit so many different things to do in the same area.
