There are 400+ steps to climb up and down. The steps are made of timber but could be wet and slippery from early morning dew, so I feel that a late morning trek is better when the stairs are dry. On my second visit, I went around 6 PM. Although the stairs are well lit, I just did not feel safe. I found myself alone at one point and looking behind me, checking if someone is coming out of the dark bushes. Maybe it's just me... But overall, if you would like to hit your 10K steps and/or your target heart rate, this is a fun way to go!

The play area is turf and surrounded by picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, with plenty of shade. The design is thoughtful and makes for a great place to spend an afternoon. The parking is free and right next to the play area. It feels secluded and somehow also right in the middle of everything. The only thing missing is a bathroom and while I understand that it's prevent homeless people from moving in, it does limit the amount of time that anyone can hang out here (especially with littles). Still a nice place to enjoy a coffee or picnic and let the kiddos play.

Parking is in front near the entrance, weekdays it's $4 /hr but free on the weekends. Admission is just a $5 suggested donation to support the arboretum. I arrived within the first half hour after opening to try and beat the heat. Even though it was still warm, there were plenty of shaded areas to stay cool along with benches that were great for relaxing. There was also a breeze so that helped. Thought about spending an hour there but glad I paid for two hours of parking because I ended up staying for 1 & 1/2 hours. One of my favorite moments were simply sitting on a bench listening to all the birds. Hopefully you can hear them on the video. This is a peaceful place to unwind and definitely encourage you to visit.

Recently found this trail and so happy we did…read more Easily accessible from both sides, with restrooms. Clean well kept. Has markers along the way to indicate the miles. Benches for seating. Biking and dogs allowed. Unfortunately not a lot of shade, but a hat and some sun screen and you are golden. Perfect spot to start or end your day to get your movement in!

I hate being out under the sun so I can use alllll the shade! There are several entrances to this place depending on what you want to do. The South St side is a better one for birding. Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.

There was some sort of soccer practice going on and some children playing on the playground- yet no loud noises really. It was a pleasant experience.

We all wanted to try something different. My first time here, and I enjoyed the scenery of the lake, picnic areas, and the monuments. Very nice family park for people of all ages. Plenty of tables to eat it. Restrooms are kept clean too. It was just exciting to be here. We will all make plenty of trips here again.

Parking here is very tight, only a few spaces, but the park is so small no one stays long. There are also no restrooms at all.
