Pearson Park is one of those places that quietly overdelivers. It's interesting that it has such a low rating on Yelp, but has a crazy high star rating and review count on Google Reviews. I don't usually review parks, but did this time because I knew that this beauty was not getting the flowers that it deserved. Stopped by yesterday evening for a 1.5-hour hot girl walk with a friend, and it checked all the usual boxes. Clean, well maintained, plenty of mature trees, and wide paths that make it easy to settle into a good conversation without constantly dodging people. It has that easygoing neighborhood feel that works just as well for a book club meetup, a picnic date, or a jog if you're in that 5k/marathon phase of your quarter life crisis like my friends are. An unexpected highlight for us was catching skytyping that was announcing Olivia Rodrigo's new album, "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love," which is scheduled for release on June 12, 2026. We were craning our necks for a cool 20 minutes trying to figure out what the message meant and I didn't figure it out until looking it up on Reddit when I got home. Not exactly standard park entertainment, but definitely memorable. Also worth noting, right across the street we came across a full Zumba class happening in a small private studio. Apparently it runs every Thursday evening with a $7.00 cover. If you're into that kind of thing, it could be a fun way to switch things up. All in all, Pearson Park knocked it out of the (local) park. It was interesting enough for me to consider adding it to my future routine and will absolutely be coming back. read more

The park is a good sized park -- big enough for a dog walk or a run around the 0.7-mile perimeter. It has several tennis courts, baseball fields, playgrounds, and a swimming pool. There are many large trees around that offer very good shade. There are nice walk trails around the park but I would not advice to venture late at night as some parts of the park are not well lit. read more

Nice park. My friend grew up here and went to this park all her life. She said that most residents call it "Sycamore Park." I love it. Park is quiet and safe. We had night picnic here. Available parking was plentiful. Which is important. Loved the Kobe and Gianna basketball court mural as well. read more

Pearson Park is Anaheim's "main park" in the heart of the city and walking distance to downtown, etc. It's a decent park. Pros: - big size - lots of amenities like small pond, basketball court (with famous Kobe mural), tennis courts, pool - walking distance to Downtown Anaheim - usually not super crowded Cons: - a lot of homeless in all areas of the park; never felt unsafe while walking around but alway have to be vigilante - no designated parking lot (but free street parking surrounding park) - older park with older amenities Given the homeless and older look/feel of the park, it's ok. You can find other "nicer" parks around OC. The location is convenient if you want to spend day in central Anaheim, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here unless you want to snap photos in front of the Kobe mural. read more

Really nice park. Soccer fields and tennis courts along with basketball quarts. I think the mural was the show stopper though! The mural was in memory of Kobe Bryant and his wife Gigi. It was beautiful. What a wonderful tribute to Kobe and his wife. The front has their faces on it and the back has a message. The back looks like a butterfly. It's so pretty. read more

Wish the city would take care of this park especially kids and adults safety. I heard it's not safety to be out there at night in the park alone. Homeless people sleep inside the restrooms and lock themselves there I feel bad for them but there's kids around and people need to use the restrooms. This is a pretty nice park with ponds, ducks, and a bunch of amenities. I absolutely loved that they have a Kobe & Gigi Lakers inspired basketball court. They also had about 4 tennis courts that wasn't fully occupied on Sunday noon (No pickleball though). It has a decent route to run in so overall you can do a lot of this park. It does look like there are a bit of transients chilling at the park now though but I didn't have any issues with them. read more

Believe this is known as the "Kobe Bryant" court. Traveling in from Chicago-Very beautiful mural, court, and park. It has a playground for toddlers, and older children. There were tables and a covered pavilion for picnics, behind the butterfly structure was a bench. Bathrooms were locked, water fountain with refillable stations as well. There was sand in the other part of the playground for volleyball. On the other side, there were plants and it was just beautiful. Street parking available on all four sides of the street. read more

We recently rode our bikes to check out the Kobe & Gianna Bryant Mural and the surrounding structures at the park. The mural and basketball court is beautiful. The artist did an amazing job. This park has an amphitheater, pool, many tennis courts and a good amount of park space with lots of shade from the trees. It's a good park to take the family. My only recommendation is maybe more park maintenance and power washing the sidewalks. People and ducks tend to make the sidewalks a little dirty. It would be nice, if it was maintained more often. Other than that, it is a good park to visit. read more

Pearson Park is a nice, quiet spot to relax or take a walk. There's plenty of green space, a playground for kids, and even an amphitheater for events. It's clean and well-kept, making it a great place for a picnic or just hanging out.Parking can be a little tough during events, but overall, it's a solid park for a chill day outside! read more

We stumbled upon the park after leaving Disneyland and just had to stop by and take a look. The sculpture at the park honoring Kobe and Gianna Bryant is just breath taking. Due to the rain my kids were unable to get out and play, but I imagine this is a great place to bring the family to spend a sunny day at the park. read more

Recently came here to see the Kobe Bryant mural. The basketball court is dedicated to Kobe and his daughter. It's very pretty. Kobe's family was here for the ceremony. The colors are Laker colors and the mural has a nice picture of the two along with some info about them and quotes. It's in a shape of a butterfly. While here, run into two other Laker fans. A park with basketball courts and a public pool. That's pretty interesting as I don't think I've seen a public pool around here before. There's just street parking for this park. I've been bringing my children here every week since they were born. We usually visit in the afternoon during the week. We've always had a nice time here, especially since they've updated the play equipment however, I've noticed an increase in sketchy characters in the park as of late and I am NOT about that. Some guy who was clearly high on something was running around the park half naked yelling about something to someone who was not visible to me. This is not the the first time I've witnessed this kind of behavior in the park. There are usually an uncomfortable number of men sitting around the play area... true, some are just having lunch then they go on their way but I've noticed others that linger, with no ties to the play area but are there watching the children anyway. I'm just over the sketchy increase in the park and will be taking my children elsewhere. read more

It's a great park with plenty of parking around the edges. However, my only concern here are the bathrooms. I know bathrooms at parks aren't the best, but at least take care of them! There's beer bottles and cans everywhere and it does smell pretty sketchy in there. Don't let your children go in here alone. Clean up the bathrooms a bit and there goes a 4 or 5 star review. read more

We come hear for the YMCA Anaheim swim classes. I didn't even know this pool existed until I found the swim classes. The staff is friendly. The lockers and pool are clean. There's plenty of shade for the parents to sit and watch the classes. I also love that the pool is only 2.5' where they instruct the littles so my 4 yo can actually reach the bottom and still be above water no problem. That really helps with their confidence in the water. My 4yo really likes Ms. Amanda and the other instructors. We signed up for the second session. read more

Dig this park much! Been getting my minor fitness on here for awhile. It's just kind of dirty along the sidewalks and some of the grassy areas by the duck ponds. Maybe because of the different berry looking things that drop from the trees onto the concrete, or animal poop that wasn't discarded of properly. Other than that, the park is huge. Offering a playground, ponds, pavilions for gatherings, benches, tennis courts, a swimming pool, bleacher seats, the amphitheater, cactus plants, various trees, flowers, ducklings and ducks. Got a bunch of walkers, joggers, runners, skateboarders, cyclists, unicyclists, romanticists, families and average every day folks just passing through or hanging out. Love coming here before the sun sets or even once it's dark. You can catch a not-so-bad view of the Disneyland fireworks from here too! read more

Pearson Park is my family's park. We love to walk or run to the park to enjoy the playground, the mini lake, the sports, the amphitheater and the general beauty. There is a lot of history at the park. For example Rudolph Boysen was the parks first maintenance supervisor. Mr. Boysen stayed on for more than 38 Years and developed the "Boysenberry" in his spare time.Pearson Park is named for Charles A. Pearson, mayor from 1945 to 1959. There's a statue of famous actress Helena Modjeska at the corner of Sycamore and Lemon. This park has a pool, playground, sand volley courts, tennis courts, etc. My co-workers and I come here regularly to use their public courts after work to play some friendly games. The last two courts have the most shade and they are usually very popular. Because of that, there are a lot of dead leaves and not very clean as a result. What a beautiful, and large park! Great for people young and old. My fiance and I went to play some catch and we had tons of space to run and practice. Nearby, we saw a big birthday party, probably 30 people. They had on music and had started cooking a bunch of food on a park provided bbq. Away from us was a bridge surrounded by a beautiful pond with lots of ducks inside. From there we could see another whole baseball field and what looked like a huge soccer field as well. This is a great park for families or if you just want to take a long walk. I'll definitely be brining my dogs here in the future. read more

This review is JUST for the Tennis courts. It has been a while since I have attended this park and I must say I LOVE these tennis courts. If I get there before 4pm there are tons of courts available. If you get there after 5pm it will be difficult. These courts are super clean and well maintained. =] Need a snack or refreshment? There is either a shaved ice, corn, or ice cream man available! Only gripe are the super short dividers between the courts. Tennis balls tend to easily bounce onto other courts. Otherwise, really nice tennis courts. read more

I had more than one Barbie in my childhood. Aside from the plastic, anatomically impossible doll, there was the other blonde, blue eyed Barbie...my swim instructor at Pearson Park. I was maybe 5 years old and already could survive in the water, but Barbie helped turn this girl into a solid swimmer and a life long lover of the water. I remember getting our little "diploma" for graduating from swim class and how proud of myself I was! Obviously this park has a nostalgic place in my heart. There's plenty of history at this park, going back to the heyday of Anaheim when this park was the entertainment hub. There's an awesome amphitheater here, the large pool, a cactus garden, little lakes and fountains. Unfortunately, at times, the crowd here isn't too amazing, but you know, just use some discretion. Cute Craftsman homes in the historic neighborhood to walk around and look at as well. Carl Karcher's (R.I.P.) family home is located right down the street from here. read more

Wonderful, hidden park, community events in the theater during the summer. Nice river to walk by ad well as a number of small landmarks. Also a nice park for Pokemon Go users as there's several PokeStops within it and a PokeGym by the statue. read more

While I was little, I used to get water in my ears and hair so I decided to get a swimcap and goggles which helped me get swimming a lot better. I go here to use the tennis courts. There are 6 well lit courts that are well maintained and quite popular to locals. I almost always find a court to play on but it can get busy during peak hours which are weekday around 6 and weekend mornings. Aside from those times, I always find at least one court. The only bad thing about it is that there are people in the area that tend to smoke weed and once in a while I'll get a whiff of the odor and I absolutely hate it. Other than that, its great! Its free, its clean, and easily accessible. read more

Had a birthday party for my daughter here and the first thing greeting us is a bunch of goose crap. The park is overrun with geese and there is goose crap everywhere you walk. This poop isn't typical bird poop either, it's the size of a small dog's crap. Luckily it doesn't smell as bad, but it still had a smell like sewage mud. I had to spend $70 on a tarp in order to do the piñata if not the kids would be getting handfuls of crap when picking up the candy. Just be careful if you want to have a party there maybe it's a seasonal thing but in September it was overrun with Geese and goose poop. Also the reason we reserved here was because the price was cheap but then they added all kinds of fees, the fees we twice as much as what the actual reservation cost. So make sure and take that into account. I won't even mention the sketchy and homeless people because they were the lest of my concern to be honest. read more

In my opinion this park was very dirty. The play area isn't something I would let my child climb on, The wood chips had trash in it, and The equipment had graffiti on it. And please don't get me started on the people who were hanging out here. The only positive I saw was a police car driving through the park. I do love the ducks, they are gorgeous but I definitely don't want my one year old playing in bird Feces. And lastly I disliked the fact the water has blue dye in it. Makes me think they are covering up dirty water or who knows what. I definitely won't be back to this park and wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. read more

I love going here to jog...Best part is feeding ducks at the pond. Worst part is the trucks/cars that park overnight.

Great spot for playing tennis, went for a few games with my best friend we had a blast!
