The parking is free and right next to the play area. It feels secluded and somehow also right in the middle of everything. The only thing missing is a bathroom and while I understand that it's prevent homeless people from moving in, it does limit the amount of time that anyone can hang out here (especially with littles). Still a nice place to enjoy a coffee or picnic and let the kiddos play.

I don't usually review parks, but did this time because I knew that this beauty was not getting the flowers that it deserved. Stopped by yesterday evening for a 1.5-hour hot girl walk with a friend, and it checked all the usual boxes. Clean, well maintained, plenty of mature trees, and wide paths that make it easy to settle into a good conversation without constantly dodging people. It has that easygoing neighborhood feel that works just as well for a book club meetup, a picnic date, or a jog if you're in that 5k/marathon phase of your quarter life crisis like my friends are. An unexpected highlight for us was catching skytyping that was announcing Olivia Rodrigo's new album, "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love," which is scheduled for release on June 12, 2026. We were craning our necks for a cool 20 minutes trying to figure out what the message meant and I didn't figure it out until looking it up on Reddit when I got home. Not exactly standard park entertainment, but definitely memorable. Also worth noting, right across the street we came across a full Zumba class happening in a small private studio. Apparently it runs every Thursday evening with a $7.00 cover. If you're into that kind of thing, it could be a fun way to switch things up. There's a communal bench area that's covered that looks good for parties (with a cool King Neptune statue). There are really beautiful and unique stone water fountains shaped like seashells integrated into the walls. It feels like a magical little park with groovy animals/shapes. My kid was able to enjoy the splash pad all to herself. There's an outdoor shower right by it as well to rinse off. The splash pad was interactive and fun. There are various swing sets here of different styles fit for different ages. There was ample parking. Many of the areas are shaded. The bad: We came upon opening hours and the gate wasn't open yet. People opened it around 7 minutes late. My husband and I were about to leave but luckily stood around trying to make phone calls for long enough that someone eventually came and opened the gate. The interesting: After an hour or less at the splash pad the button to turn the water on stopped working.

Instead there's bird poop, spider webs, and litter everywhere. The splash pad wasn't operating when we visited. Some of the playground equipment is rusty. All of it is outdated with some strange design choices. We were the only ones there, which after a while was sad and a bit creepy. I like that there's so much shady greenery and that the park is fenced in with an affordable admission fee. In fact, that's how an Instagram influencer convinced me to check this place out (last time I listen to that person, ay yi yi). But it's messed up how the ticket seller took our money with a big smile and told us to have a good time -- not letting us know that the splash pad was broken and sending us to play in a neglected mess. When I asked about the splash pad, I was told to contact Garden Grove city hall for updates. Not sure what's going on with this place. Maybe the employees could at least pick up trash and wipe away bird poop.

Lots of birds twittering, crows and geese present. The restrooms are open and clean. The basketball courts are in good repair. One corner has children's park equipment to play on. There are picnic benches, places to barbecue, trash cans that have recently been emptied. There's a man over there with his bike, just like me, just sitting and looking at what's going on around him. A man is jogging and a woman is doing her calisthenics. It's a quiet and peaceful oasis in the middle of the city.

The Play structures are in really great condition, there are two regular swings and two infant/toddler swings, a basketball court, and a large baseball/softball field with lots of grassy area for running as well. There seems to be a small recreation center and restrooms, but they are blocked off by a large covered gate. I'm assuming for a construction.
