Community park in a somewhat nice neighborhood. 5 stars for the playground. It has the Alphabet Braille, Bells for sound, 2 slides that aren't very fast, different areas to climb. I like that it's the foam mat vs sand n wood chips. 0 stars because it smells like pee everywhere!! Like bums were pissing all over the place. Had to make the visit short for my little ones cuz one of my daughters started to get red bumps on her neck n face. So needless to say, took her straight home to give her a good bath. Either the city or community, whomever is in "charge" of keeping the parks clean, needs to actually clean the park. Clean it and Wipe it down.

We found this park on our Google maps and it was perfect for our comfort level during these times. Not crowded , clean. The kids loved climbing on everything and the see saw .

This was for years just an empty grass field park used by the elementary school. Since 2017 the school has sent out fliers saying the city had plans to build a park there. In January of 2019 they put in a beautiful accessible play structure. I made many calls in hopes it would be an accessible park. My only complaint is that they didn't put in and regular swings. They put in two infant swings and two handicap accessible swings. I had hopes it would have 2 of each similar to the amazing accessible park in cypress. This is a beautiful park structure and it's a wonderful addition to our city and community and I'm hoping we can follow the lead and update our other parks to be similar to this. Accessible to everyone and have these nice rubber grounds that are more sanitary and safer for the children.

New park with really cool playground setup. Next to Barton Elementary School. I love the colorful playground and how it's great for kids with visual impairment or have physical disabilities. There's a ramp and stairs, as well as slidEs, music thing, swings, Braille ABC wall, rock climbing wall, zip line thing and other games.

Parking was very limited at that time, so plan ahead if you're going early. Clearly, a lot of people know this is the spot for a serious workout. The stairs themselves are brutal in the best way possible. After about three rounds, my legs were completely done--but it's such an effective workout. This place really gets your cardio in fast, and you feel accomplished every time you finish a round. The views along the way make it even more worth it. We also came back later in the day around 5:30 PM. It starts to get a bit dark around that time, so that's something to keep in mind, but it's still a great experience and totally worth it. Overall, if you're looking for a challenging, fun, and effective outdoor workout, Hillcrest Park stairs deliver every time. Just be ready for sore legs and limited parking during peak hours.

There are 400+ steps to climb up and down. The steps are made of timber but could be wet and slippery from early morning dew, so I feel that a late morning trek is better when the stairs are dry. On my second visit, I went around 6 PM. Although the stairs are well lit, I just did not feel safe. I found myself alone at one point and looking behind me, checking if someone is coming out of the dark bushes. Maybe it's just me... But overall, if you would like to hit your 10K steps and/or your target heart rate, this is a fun way to go!

Pleasantly how nice this park was and not crowded on a Saturday morning. Met up with family here…read moreand expected lots of birthday parties and people but it was fairly empty. We were able to easily snag a table under the gazebo for some shade near the little kids playground. It's nice they had a big kids and little kids playground. Even some exercise equipment for the adults all near the restroom. Tons of grassy areas for soccer, picnics, etc. Restrooms were surprisingly clean for a park bathroom but they need to put a new faucet spout/spigot since the water dribbles out and is so close to the base that you can't even get any water. Also, please add soap. Other than that, we had no issues finding parking. We were able to hang out and grab lunch, enjoy the playground, and chill for a few hours on a Saturday morning.

I like that there's seating for parents and that you can actually see your kid and that the structures aren't huge enough to where you can't see what's going on. We come here a few times week as this has become our go to park. Did I mention I'm a homeschool mommy so most of time we have the park to ourselves or sometimes we go later in the day when the school next door lets the kids out and my boys enjoy playing and meeting new friends!

Great place to visit in DCA!…read more Just an FYI, I noticed that unless you have your stroller designated as a wheelchair, you can't bring it in and you have to park it outside for those who have children. Kids love this place as they can run around, go down a slide, and use the tire zipline among the rope climbing areas. I think it's a more physical and interactive space where they can also learn about the wilderness and how we can take care of nature around us versus just running around a regular playground. You can interact with the cast members there and sometimes they have photo pass opportunities here too. For Oogie Boogie Bash, this area is used for the Villain's Grove and during the Xmas season you can meet Santa here or decorate some cookies. I went during the Hoppers Collaboration and it's a cute little "scavenger hunt" with signs of the critter characters, a puzzle to decode, and photo opportunities with some free stickers. Super cute and fun! Hope it becomes permanent since the theme is perfect and since I love Tom Lizard.

My kids are still pretty small so I follow them but bigger kids can just explore with you feeling confident that they are contained and safe. Great spot. Totally recommend.
