Nice big park to check out in the Fullerton area. Small parking lots, but street parking as well. No paved trails, but the paths are pretty worn from all the walking and horses, but keep an eye out for duck and horse droppings. Trail is pretty flat, easy, not strenuous and if I remember correctly, it is less than 1 or 1.5 miles all the way around the 1 section. I think there are other sections to walk if you cross over the street and continue on. There are a few tables to sit at, but more benches than tables. There are some bathrooms near the front, near the parking, and then some further down the trail on the 1 side. They were clean and respectable. Signs say there are fish, and there were people fishing, but mostly ducks and birds were out in force when I was there. Plenty of photos to see.

One of my favorite places to jog. Weekend gets busy, best to there early in the am. Different Trails to try.

Our second time here. Plenty of ducks and geese to look at. Perfect for a good short walk. There are other trails to do a bit longer walk and bike riding. Clean park. We saw bathrooms but didn't use them so I can't say if they were clean or not. You can bring your dog too. We liked this park very much!

Peaceful park- well maintained and great for everyone...including dogs! Parking is easy and accessible. Entrance to the park is great for picnics and they offer bbqs!!

It wasn't as pretty as I thought it'd be. A lot more dirt and bikes than expected. I was constantly on the look out to avoid being run over. There were also many people fishing. We walked by a dead turtle with blood over its mouth. It probably got hooked up by the people fishing nearby and was tossed to the side....Seeing that just saddened me and ruined my day. The only nice things about this place are that parking was smooth and it's pretty clean. There's barely even duck poop around.

Located in Fullerton. I didn't even realize that there was a hidden gem within this city. We were really surprised how pristine the park is. It's dog friendly and they allow fishing you have to follow the rules in fishing posted within the park area. There are a lot of ducks and turtles around the pond. We walked the whole route around casually and have enjoyed every minute of it. Next time you are in the City of Fullerton why not swing by.

A nice place to walk. I've never seen it too busy, not too empty. Some folks like to fish. There's always some shade as well. The path around the lake is about .75 mile.

This is an amazing park & we had no issues bringing our puppy for a walk. Everything is super clean & we even saw people riding horses.

Plenty of benches and tables around the loop

1st time visiting this park after continuously researching new parks to explore. Super love this park! Located in a residential area of fullerton with older large homes and equestrians setting. Free parking lots (slightly on smaller end) but there is always street parking. Parking lots located at either top or bottom of the loop pending which way coming from. No entrance fees! Kid friendly Stroller friendly Walkers Joggers Dog friendly Quite accessible for many folks looking to move around Dog bags are not provided so please prepare accordingly Well kept, various signs to learn about the habitat There is not a barrier from the lake so watch little ones who may want to explore a little to close Walking with my dog with in-between sniffs potty moments and etc, we finish under 30 mins. It was quite serene clean and for the amount of potential bird poo hardly was any seen. Plenty of trash cans, tables, and benches spread throughout. I would like to say there are 2 diff. Bathroom facilities available. Got here around 645am. Felt safe was there were a few cars and already a handful walking the paths. I would suggest bringing small cloth or something to wipe paws as my Kiddo tracked back a bit and he appreciate the wipe I think haha Definitely a place to return and explore the other pathways! Great find hidden gem indeed!

Ask the Community - Laguna Lake Park

How long is one lap around the lake?

I took a brisk walk and timed myself for one lap. Everyone has different walking speeds, and I even stopped to take photos. My time was 14 minutes and 30 seconds. The loop is about 3/4 of a mile.

Does it get busy with lots of fishing? Like to crowded?

it's a pretty big lake and i have never seen it get crowded

Is there a dog park here?

It's dog-friendly, but no designated area for dogs to run around off-leash.

    Any playground available?

No. Hermosa Park (nearby) has one though.

    Can dogs swim here?

    Unfortunately no.

Where can I obtain a fishing license?

    Walmart

What time does the lake open to fish?

Are there trails that are paved in this park so I can come with my baby in her stroller?

The track is dirt. Bit bumpy for a stroller. Hermosa Park (on the other side of Harbor) is a park suitable for strolling plus it's next to Hermosa Elementary

Can dogs go into the water?

Technically, no swimming. Common sense also mandates you wouldn't want any organic life swimming in the water upon closer observation.

Is there shelters available for birthday parties ? new to town so I'm not familiar with any parks .suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks !

No shelters. This marsh isn't ideal for picnics, etc. Consider Craig Regional Park in Brea, Ralph B Park in Fullerton, Vista del Valle Park in La Habra, City Hall Park in… Read more

Where exactly are the train tracks?

The tracks dip below the cliff line. you can't access it from the lake. You can walk down from Hermosa Dr or Las Palmas.… Read more

None of the signs around the lake state whether or not a fishing license is required? Please explain why or why not you believe a license is required and where to get one if you've ever fished here?

Generally, fishing license is required whenever the California Dept of Fish & Game stocks the lake/resevoirs. You can acquire or get info on how to get a CA fishing permit at www.wildlife.ca.gov/Licensing/Fishing. Best is annual/no restrictions

Do you need a fishing license for this site?

Yes , you are required to have a fishing license !

    What time does it close?

They lock the gates at sunset.

Do you have to pay to get in?

No. Free street parking and small parking lots around.

What are the rules for fishing at this lake? Is it catch and release for certain fish or all fish? If not, how many fish can be taken home? Thank you.

Its catch and release mainly but if you do choose to keep any the limit is 2. This applies to any of the fish.

Parking was very limited at that time, so plan ahead if you're going early. Clearly, a lot of people know this is the spot for a serious workout. The stairs themselves are brutal in the best way possible. After about three rounds, my legs were completely done--but it's such an effective workout. This place really gets your cardio in fast, and you feel accomplished every time you finish a round. The views along the way make it even more worth it. We also came back later in the day around 5:30 PM. It starts to get a bit dark around that time, so that's something to keep in mind, but it's still a great experience and totally worth it. Overall, if you're looking for a challenging, fun, and effective outdoor workout, Hillcrest Park stairs deliver every time. Just be ready for sore legs and limited parking during peak hours.

There are 400+ steps to climb up and down. The steps are made of timber but could be wet and slippery from early morning dew, so I feel that a late morning trek is better when the stairs are dry. On my second visit, I went around 6 PM. Although the stairs are well lit, I just did not feel safe. I found myself alone at one point and looking behind me, checking if someone is coming out of the dark bushes. Maybe it's just me... But overall, if you would like to hit your 10K steps and/or your target heart rate, this is a fun way to go!

My kid had fun playing on both sides. They also have swings and a cool little gyro-spinning thing for the kids. We did visit the bathroom while there and it was pretty no frills, but several rolls of toilet paper and some hand soap outside, so that was a plus. I went there with someone, and the moment we stepped into the park, I felt this bright, open energy that reminded me of the same playful excitement I felt when I visited Funko Hollywood. The whole place felt alive in a way I didn't expect from a park. What really stood out to me right away was how many teenagers were there. They were walking around the trails, relaxing under the trees, taking pictures near the lake, and just enjoying the space in a natural, comfortable way. Seeing so many teenagers made the park feel even more vibrant, almost like it was designed for them to have a place where they could be themselves. As I walked around, I appreciated how easy it was to enjoy everything without feeling rushed. The park is big enough to explore but not so big that it feels overwhelming. The lake area especially has this peaceful atmosphere that still feels exciting because of all the activity happening around it. I saw teenagers taking photos with the water behind them, and the scenery looked so good that it almost felt like a real outdoor version of those fun, creative photo spots at Funko Hollywood. Everything was free, which makes it even better for teenagers who want a place to hang out, take pictures, and have fun without spending money. I only visited Ralph B. Clark Park one time before making this review, but it left a strong impression on me. I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked deeper into the park and saw the trails, the open fields, the museum building, and all the little areas where people were relaxing. The experience turned out exactly the way I hoped it would. It reminded me how much I enjoy places that feel youthful, open, and creative. In the summertime of 2024, I learned that I am still physically and mentally 18 years old even though I have lived for 24 years, and that sense of youthfulness connected perfectly with the atmosphere of this park. My prefrontal cortex may be more developed than the average 25 year old's, but that does not stop me from appreciating places that make me feel playful, sharp, and relaxed at the same time. Ralph B. Clark Park is honestly one of the most enjoyable outdoor places I have been to in a long time. It has that perfect mix of calm and excitement that teenagers love, and it gives them a space to talk, laugh, take pictures, walk around, and feel creative without any pressure. I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it is the kind of place where they can have fun, feel comfortable, and make memories in a setting that feels safe, open, and full of life.
