3-6 ft" deep for older kids

this is our first time come to Brea Plunge and it's a very nice & safe public pool! They have pretty big kiddie pool and another pool for bigger kids with a divider walkway in the middle. Kiddie pool is 2-3 feet deep and the other pool is 3-6 feet deep. They have 5 lifeguards here (4 lifeguards around the bigger pool and 1 lifeguard standing around the kiddie pool) My kids enjoy swimming here so much!!! Glad I found this pool on google!!! They only charge $2/person for admission!! Open swim hours from 1:30p.m.-3:30p.m. (2 hours) on M-F and 12:30-3:30p.m. (3 hours) on weekend.

We love this pool! It was our 1st year doing swim lessons. We only signed up for 1 session, but our girls (6 & 10) learned so much in 2 weeks and loved it so much that they are now in their 3rd session and thinking about signing up for a 4th. It's a great summer activity and fun because they meet old friends and make new ones. The instructors have been awesome!! They are so patient and friendly with the kids, as well as pushing them to learn. I highly recommend the Brea Plunge! It's helped us have a fun summer break!

In…read morejust 20 minutes at a time, and often with a swim buddy (one other person in a group lesson), Nick is able to help him make huge gains in his strokes. Our son has been able to swim for a while, but it was more a combination of freestyle kicks and "big arms" with a lift of the head to breathe. This works fine if you're trying to have fun in the pool. But this is NOT efficient. And we really wanted him to gain some speed. Well, we are getting that with Nick YL. We are truly amazed at the progress and the small tweaks that he makes for huge improvement. Like Nick will tell him to be looking down or glue his ear to his arm and suddenly his stroke is way better. Or he'll move his arms a certain way so our little guy can feel a difference or give him a pull as Nick tells him what to do...it's pretty amazing. The pool is located inside LA Fitness and the facility is not super clean. For example, don't put your coffee cup down on the window sill or you might get a mouthful of cobwebs. But we're only there for 20 minutes and for our purposes it works. Last note: they used to have changing tents and for whatever reason, these are now gone. So I recommend getting a swim parka for after the lesson. We dry with a towel first, then pop the parka on, so we can keep the car seat dry for the ride home.

My son absolutely loves Australian Swim School, and I can't recommend them enough!…read more One of the biggest reasons we chose this swim school is the water temperature. It's by far the warmest pool we could find, and it's the only place where my son happily stays in the water without shivering. Our regular instructor is Mr. Nori, and he has been wonderful with my son. He's patient, encouraging, and fantastic with all of the kids I've seen in his classes. We recently missed a couple of lessons and had to attend makeup classes. For whatever reason, my son suddenly decided he didn't want to go back for his lesson. Miss Kaylee stepped in and was incredible. She tried everything she could to gently encourage him to go to the back pool, but when it became clear he wasn't going to do it, she didn't give up. Instead, she offered to work with him one-on-one in the front pool where we already were. She even promised she wouldn't put his head under the water. In the end, he became comfortable enough that he chose to put his face in the water on his own with her guidance, but she honored her promise and never forced him. That meant so much to me. I don't know if she was on her lunch break, between classes, or supposed to be doing something else, but I know that impromptu private lesson wasn't part of her day. She took the time simply because she cared, and it completely turned the experience around for my son. The best part is that it worked. Today my son happily got back in the water with Mr. Nori, and I honestly think it was his best lesson yet. Mr. Nori was so sweet, so encouraging, and genuinely proud of him. Seeing his confidence come back was such a great moment as a parent, and I really credit both instructors for making that happen. Every single person we've interacted with has been kind, welcoming, patient, and genuinely wonderful with kids. I honestly have not had a single negative experience here. The first class is free, the warm water makes such a difference, and the little splash pad was a huge part of getting my son's initial buy-in. From the instructors to the front desk staff, the entire team is amazing. If you're looking for swim lessons for your child, I highly recommend Australian Swim School!

We've been going to this school since they were in Fullerton, and they've always been great. My daughter started with Mr Nori and he's one of her favorite instructors. She's gone through a few instructors and we've never had a bad experience. My son now attends the school too. This morning, my daughter had a make up class and had to go into a different swim lane with a new teacher. She's been apprehensive about leaving her current school and starting kinder next year, and the emotions came out today. She started crying and holding onto me when she saw the new lane and instructor and said she doesn't want new things. Within seconds, Mr Scott came over and began comforting her asking if she'd like to see her other instructor Mayumi. Mayumi wasn't even dressed to go in the water, but rolled up her jeans and sat in another lane with her. Mr Nori came by to say hi and comfort her, and Mr Christopher gave her a private lesson for a few minutes while she adjusted. He eventually asked her if she wanted to join him in the new lane with the new instructor, and she said yes and was happy the rest of the time. Mayumi also came back to check on her. This is the level of care any parent looks for in a school and I highly recommend coming here.

I did state that before. I do ask again to keep refraining from texting me, posting about me, and having such anger towards me. It feels displaced and truly unprofessional. I'm just uncomfortable with this rhetoric and engagement. Again, loud and clear, I wish you well. FYI- my pool isn't heated, however it is indoors in a heated room. *** it's pretty upsetting this morning to entertain texts and phone calls from friends who are screening me comments the owner is making about me on her Instagram page. I never even talked to her on Instagram or other social media outlets that's concerning given a professional, I'm entitled to my opinion I don't feel like I said anything that was a discrepancy towards her. Personally, she cared to share her personal endeavors with me, which I don't feel are reflective of what her personal position should hold, that's neither here nor there. I come from a place of wishing you goodwill in your journey of whatever it is that brings you peace and happiness, and I asked that you refrain from threatening me via my personal text which my husband and I both read, as well as on any social media outlet I don't feel that's constructive. It's both discrediting and defamatory against somebody's character. I didn't say anything about you personally again wishing you well, so please refrain from further harassment towards me personally thank you Pretty disappointed with the various layers of content from owner. The initial phone call I placed was to a recorded, outdated message that was very dry and monotone. A little more enthusiasm, especially considering the audience you want to attract would be helpful. Nevertheless I wanted to give it a try and left a message. I would naturally assume a live person, especially an owner attempting to secure a potential new client would personally reach out. Instead I was texted. Very dry, lacking any enthusiasm or introduction to whom I was speaking with. As a parent and an educator I was left feeling very unimpressed and as if my business wasn't a concern for them in securing. It's too bad because in the past, I often gather several friends and children to take part and lessons when I find someone that I'm super happy with and comfortable with. the only reason I am no longer using the private instructors that I have had is because they have moved away. Furthermore, it was indicated that no lessons or instruction would take place and less the degree of temperature was 80° and above I've never heard of this when I've also used professional schools and CPR trained swim instructors that were on swim teams earning medals at the number one high school in California. It's just a little disheartening that I was just treated with such ill regard as to my needs as a client or any considerations on my end. So it was just left as if there was no concern to secure my business again no professional phone call was made or introduction from them. I have no idea who I was speaking with and it's unfortunate because they lost a great deal of business that I would've been happy to support.

In the winter, they reconfigure the lanes so that they are 25 yards (shallow water) and 33 yards (from 7ʻ to 13ʻ). Overall the pool ranges in depth from 4ʻ to 7ʻ and 13.ʻ It is open year round for lap swimming. The other pool is a shallower pool, used primarily for family swim, and swimming for kids in the summer. They also use it for lessons and swim practice for the kids. They have designated hours for public lap swim in the big pool from 12 - 3 PM, M-Sa, and also include Sundays in the summer. Be sure to look for the FAST swim program website in order to reserve and pay for a lane for lap swim. In the summer, the community summer day camp programs come and use the pool, usually from around 11 - 2. There are lifeguards. If you are doing lap swim, itʻs recommended taht you know how to swim. Lap swim tends to be very busy, and most of the people swam in high school or college, many of them during 12 - 3 are older. Basic swim equipment: fins, paddles, kickboards, goggles, are allowed to use as part of your lap swim routine. Swimwear attire. Overall, itʻs a very nice facility. It could use some facility upgrades, like shaded areas where people can towel off in the hot summer months, and where others can wait. It could use more regular cleaning of the locker rooms especially in the summer, when there should be restroom/locker room attendants. It could use more signage, and graphics, and the check in for everyone using the pool should be located near the entrance -in its own building, or a ticket booth. Itʻs a great place.
