Destiny is so kind and informative. Even on their busiest day, Friday, she took the time to give my family and another family a tour. She was helping with taking calls and registration as well. I appreciate that there is an instructor in each pool lane and someone supervising at all times. They offer all things you may need for swim class. There is also a play area, lunch tables and basketball courts for students to use. The bathrooms and changing areas are clean. The pool water and shower water is temperature controlled. My son has been enrolled in Academy 1 since mid-May at the Diamond Bar PSA location. Initially, we were happy with the program. We felt that the class size was small and he was truly enjoying the lesson. However, after 4 months, and after spending close to $520 he is still in Academy 1. There's been over 5 different instructors. Each time the instructor was switched, it was like we were starting over. Every 30-minute lesson is the same without spending time on skills the student actually needs to improve on. I've spoken to the deck managers and the front desk multiple times, however, would never really get an answer. Due to the lack of help and constant frustration of every swim lesson being the same for the last 4-5 months, we've decided to drop the program. We are extremely unhappy with the service and lack of communication on PSA side and will not be recommending this academy to any of our friends/family. read more

Asked if I could make up because my child is sick. They wouldn't allow him to after today. I've had similar issue with customer service before. These things are unavoidable! We tried YMCA for swim lessons and that was horrible. It was nothing compared to PSA. We also signed up for summer camp that was offered and that helped with the kids swimming drastically. The instructors including the summer camp staff were awesome but my kids favorites were Leila and AJ (Ahmad). We were sad their schedules did not align with our new schedule since school started. AJ would always say hi and make small talk with my kids whenever we are there even though he is not our instructor. Only negative is the scheduling and number of kids per class. Max kids to instructor should be 3 not 4 for group lessons. I wish we're able to have the option to change classes via online ourselves and after each level up. It's hard to make the decision right on the spot day of after leveling up since days & times available does not always work with our schedule and we need time to discuss with our significant other. At times, when I call I don't always get the Diamond bar location but the remote team. I do like the make up token given when unable to attend a lesson that week. Also, we were one of the families affected when it rained lightly one Saturday afternoon so they made the decision to closed the pool at noon due to possible lightning which is understandable & was given a make up token. It would have been better if that was decided earlier in the day for possible closure & parents notified ahead of time & given the option to reschedule or take the chance instead of waiting right before class to begin to closed. We don't live in the area & the 11:30 class was still in progress. So it was an inconvenience & waste of a day for us since it was hard to get the private lesson to begin with. great program that's well run, but clearly varies by instructor - we took lessons over the winter here and could tell the coaches are a little more committed than the ones that are just there for a "summer job".. i like the clearly written out skill progression of the training program, and my kid went from screaming when her face got wet to fully jumping in, doing a back float, swimming back to the edge and getting out of the pool (yay survival skills) - within 7mos of once a week 30min lessons (with a month break in the middle for the holidays so really 6mos?) - we were casually doing it as a consistent weekend activity to learn water safety so no feedback on how it is if you're looking to do an expedited skills upgrade. pool is outside but covered by a tent so it's shaded in the summer, and enclosed during the winter. The beginning group lessons are 4 kids max and there's often a helper coach so it feels pretty individualized. read more

This is our first swim lessons for son who is 20 months old. It's located inside a neighborhood with plenty of parking. The facility looks clean with an outdoor pool that's covered. When we first came we signed in on the kiosk and got a small tour of the facilities. There is an indoor area where you can sit and wait, a small playroom, out doors is a large pool, showers, bathrooms, and a basketball area. Staff were welcoming and friendly, all smiling! My two boys have been going to Premier for about a year and a half now. When we started, my younger one hated getting his face wet, and now he loves swim class. Both boys have gone through many different instructors (due to scheduling changes or leveling up) and everyone has been so nice. My younger child LOVES his current instructor, Ms. Leila! I had enrolled my teenage daughter to have swim classes at Diamond Bar location , due to her not being a strong swimmer and also she didn't want me teaching her. For starters, anyone who is looking to enroll their child , definitely call or go and physically ask questions regarding the programs and different options available , I do not suggest doing anything online, as it may be confusing especially if your enrolling a child older than age 12. This was my error! I had enrolled my daughter into the private lessons , which cost more , and were a short amount of time, and I should have spoke to a rep at the academy prior to doing this . As there are classes that are available for a better price option and offer more time for learning. I only have two negatives about the academy. (1) The non-refundable/ not credited, enrollment fee of $50 is a little over the top, I believe it could more reasonable or possibly offered as a credit of some sort, but whatever. (2) There should be accommodations available , when knowledge is not apparent. Me and my daughter were late to our private lessons because we had no idea what to do when we arrived in the lobby. There was no greeter/staff/rep to direct us to the proper pool area, and because of that we lost time , and the manager was not agreeable to give that time back or provide any help. It was more so treated as an "Oh Well". That put a bad taste in my mouth. For transparency, we arrived at 12:58pm, and classes started at 1pm. We did not get situated until 1:07pm, and all we had to do was be lead to the pool area . And my request was only to ask for an additional 5 minutes, which I was advised to ask by a swim coach (in which under other circumstances, I wouldn't have even inquired). I was informed by the manager, while regular lessons provide make ups, private lessons do not! Again, please call and visit facility to ask questions prior to enrolling. All in all, my daughter did gain more confidence with swimming and we are very appreciative of our swim coach we had at the time! read more

The facility is very clean and organize. They even have playroom for the kids. They also offer birthday party venue at an affordable price. I'm very glad that I've found this place. Lexie and the other instructor we had yesterday (sorry forgot her name but she's in the pic) are good! I've been here 2x and observed the process! In my experience I've never seen an instructor begin with submerging the kids head under water...looks like they gradually work their way there! I've observed other little friends cry and are scared to get into the pool. Recently one little friend was crying and afraid to get in...the instructor handled the situation very well...played in the pool with the little one until he stopped crying and anxiety was ceases! I would feel confident taking my children here! I have multiple might I add different ages! I've come for morning and afternoon sessions and love it! This place is absolutely amazing. It was an old YMCA center converted to a swim academy and is very well kept. Everything is clean and very well organized! The pool is very comfortably heated, cleaned and doesn't reek of strong chlorine. They offer an app to monitor classes and upload student information as well. My biggest compliment is their swim instructors! My youngest has had an intense fear of water, so much so that bath time is difficult when it comes to washing his hair. He was lucky enough to be placed with Taylor, who is an absolute angel. She was so patient and gentle with him and in his first session he was already allowing her to submerge his head. I am EXTREMELY grateful we found this place and my kids LOVE it. There is nothing better than having peace of mind when it comes to your kids safety. Definitely money well spent! read more

My 20 month old son was enrolled in the big fish class which we loved!!! It's $108 for a 4 week month class and you go once a week or $135 for a 5 week month. Caitlyn was amazing instructor!! You basically go at your own pace and my son loved all his classes. You can dunk their head in water if you want or skip it if you think it's too early for your child. It was a parent and me class. Unfortunately we had to drop out of the program because my son kept getting ear infections because of the being in the water. So we decided we will enroll him again next summer and hopefully he will have better tolerance being in the water. Cancellation was easy. Makeup sessions are easy and unlimited. Each class is 30 mins long. A little playroom for little kids in the front office area. Everything is kept clean as well. All the little ones need swim diapers on. All staff very nice there! Instructors forcefully dunk the kids' heads in the water, they allow practice diving in 3 feet of water, and instructors have up to 4 kids climb on their back in deep water, ignoring all hazards and safety protocols. We've been with Premier for almost a year now. This is where my 5yo kids learned to swim. They were 4yo when they started and had never even been in a pool. Now they jump in the water with confidence and back float no prob. Instructors are great, facility is clean, water is heated, showers all have hot water and the same day swim program is awesome. Previously had good experiences with premier... very clean and nice facility. my Daughter(very new swimmer) was having her lesson with a few other kids and swim coach Matthew joined... was not initially part of the lesson to my knowledge.. Was very rude with her, aggravated when she was trying new tasks or behaving like a normal kid. completely inappropriate. service Staff was lovely but will not be returning. I am giving 2 1/2 stars because the location, parking, and check-in is effortless and the facility is clean. We took my 3 year old daughter here for her first ever swim lesson. She was so very excited for the lesson as we had been talking to her about it for days. We checked in with the swim instructor and began her swim lesson. Within 30 seconds she dunked my daughter's head inside the water. My daughter was obviously startled and began to cry because she has never done this before. Upon seeing my daughter cry, the instructor did a different exercise where my daughter's head was partially submerged underwater and although it was less traumatic for her, she was still extremely scared and upset because she has never been taught how to hold her breath or blow out underwater. This happened a few more times before my daughter was fully crying and we stopped the instructor and cut the lesson short. Now I don't want to tell an instructor how to teach their lesson, but this is not what we were expecting. She did not tell my daughter what was expected of her before pulling her underwater, and I feel like my daughter will be much more afraid of being in a pool again. I took my older son to a different location for swim lessons a few years back and the lessons were much different. They began by teaching them how to pedal while being held and slowly showing them how to go underwater at their pace. I really wanted my daughter to have an enjoyable experience but unfortunately this was the exact opposite and we will not be returning. read more

Negative 5 stars. Very strange place. We switched our day of swim lessons to avoid this one instructor, Leah C., who was taking pictures of my son and me, and laughing about it with a deck mamager with a nose ring. I assume she was f#t shaming. My son and I are heavy set. We complained about this twice. To avoid escalation, and to protect my son, I change the days of my son's lessons. So we mind our own business and show up to our new class, day and time. And this Leah C. who is not listed as a class instructor is placed in the lane right next to my son to help with another swimming class. It's clear they are not taking my complaints seriously and intentionally wishes to stand by their employee and continue with the harassment or making a statement: "Our employees can do what they want. You can leave if you don't like it." Very strange, uncomfortable, juvenile and unprofessional environment. But say, my son was doing very well with his two swim instructors, Sergio and Matthew, and really enjoyed himself. But this Leah C. seems to have fixated and targeted my son to bully because he is larger than the other kids. I know you can't protect your kids from everything but you can protect them from this kind of environment and business. And they took down my previous Yelp review that discussed the inattentiveness of a swimming instructor who let the child slip under water for a long time and caused the child to choke on water. read more

I can not say enough great things about Premier Swim Academy Diamond Bar! My son is 4.5 years old and came in with some experience in the pool (comfortable in the water, holds his breath, blows nose bubbles). In 2 months with Coach Lexie he is officially swimming! He's learned to push off, flip over, back float, and most importantly get to his back float independently after jumping/falling in. I love that he's learned these safety skills first and now is excited to add on more and more. Lexie is amazing with him and the other kids she teaches. She meets him on his level and makes it so fun, all while keeping him focused and engaged. He recently leveled up and the boost of confidence he got from passing his test and ringing the bell had me in near tears. The facility is awesome - large pool, showers, changing rooms, clean bathrooms, turfed area to run around before or after class - and everyone we've interacted with has been so friendly and professional, especially Selena at the front desk and the deck manager, Matt. I can't wait to see how he'll continue to improve and for a fun summer of swimming with him! read more
