Wonderful place! My daughter has been coming here for 6 lessons now and she absolutely loves it! She gets so excited when she knows she's coming for her lesson the next day. Her instructor Aiden is super nice and professional and he's so good with her. We see progress every time she comes! We had the same frustrating experience as many other parents. When we first signed up, we were told that if we paid for private 1-on-1 lessons, we could pick our coach. That was the only reason we agreed to enroll. Toward the end of our first set of classes, they asked if we wanted to renew to keep the same coach. We never signed a new contract--we just paid through Zelle (they don't accept credit cards, which feels intentional so parents can't dispute charges). Not long after renewing, our coach was suddenly switched. The first time, we asked for advance notice if a coach couldn't make it. But after a few more classes, we were informed that our coach had been permanently reassigned to another student at the same time slot. We were shocked--this is not what we agreed to. When we questioned it, we were told the school had "final say" in assigning coaches and that parents have no control. When I asked to see the contract I signed, it said nothing about "unfixed coaches." Instead, they sent me a different version--one I never signed--that suddenly included "unfixed coach" language. They also told me that if I wanted to guarantee a coach, I should have signed up for something called the Golden Private Lesson. This was the first time we had ever heard of that. It feels like they change policies and terms without ever informing parents. In fact, according to the contract I did sign, coach changes should only occur for personal reasons related to the coach. Replacing our coach just to give them to another student does not qualify. In our view, this is a breach of contract. As paying clients, we should receive at least reasonable notice of coaching changes as a matter of basic professionalism. On top of all this, my daughter has been attending for quite some time and still hasn't learned to swim--which is why we gave them another chance in the first place. We've also noticed that coaches are scheduled back-to-back with no breaks, and some don't pay attention to their students. When I brought this up, the school's response was that I should "let them know" if a coach wasn't doing their job. That is unacceptable--it should not be the parents' responsibility to monitor their staff. Parents, please be very careful when signing anything here and read the fine print. Their contract even includes a clause saying you "cannot sue them in court," which feels incredibly shady and deceptive. We believe this business model is unfair and misleading. Consumers have rights under California law to pursue remedies for deceptive practices and breach of contract. We are considering filing complaints with consumer protection agencies and may pursue recourse through small claims court if necessary. read more
