Today I brought my daughter in for a trial class after calling ahead to ask about level placement…read more I was told over the phone that she would be evaluated during the class to determine whether she should be in Level 1 or Level 2. However, when we arrived, there didn't seem to be any actual evaluation. She was placed into a regular class, and the coach did not specifically assess her skills or provide any feedback. She mainly practiced very basic movements, and there was no attempt to check skills like roundoff, which was specifically mentioned during my call. After class, the coach did not communicate anything about her level. When I asked the front desk, I was simply told that if the coach didn't say anything, then she would be placed in Level 1. This was disappointing because it did not match what was explained beforehand. I was expecting at least a brief evaluation and clear feedback on her placement. Better communication and a more structured evaluation process would really improve the experience for new students.

I honestly don't know how people still bring their kids here. I don't know why they make their kids stay. I don't know how they're still in business. Coaches curse at kids, threaten, and the owners allow it all. The owners partake. Not just the older kids, even the 5/6 year olds. Please go anywhere else. I've seen these kids spirits be broken. From such a young age. And they don't deserve that. There's so much more I could say but overall terrible, terrible experience.

She is always looking out for the kids making sure they're safe and their form is right. She builds good relationships with the kids which I believe allows children to perform the best knowing they can trust their coach but she always pushes her kids to be their best. Unfortunately she doesn't coach a class for my daughter's level but sometimes we catch ourselves watching her coach her class (oops!) My daughter was in a beginner class and had never taken gymnastics before. The girl told her to do whatever on the bar. My daughter asked for help. She commented back that she knew how to do it and that my daughter just wanted her to babysit her. Again, my daughter had zero experience with gymnastics. She was upset and cried in the car. She has a medical condition that sometimes requires a specific maneuver- similar to a handstand - to correct it. When this happened during class, my daughter ran out to notify me, as she's done before. In the past, we were offered a back room to perform it, since parents aren't allowed in the mat area. This time, while discussing the situation with the front desk, the owner walked out, spoke to me in a short and dismissive tone, and immediately shut down the conversation without offering any alternatives or solutions. Before I could even explain, she turned and walked back to her office, closing the door behind her. I completely understand and respect facility rules. But when a medical issue is involved, a little compassion and willingness to help would go a long way. This was handled poorly, and I'm extremely disappointed in how dismissive the response was. At the very least, I expected a conversation about possible solutions, but I was denied even that. I hope ERA gymnastics will reconsider how they handle medical concerns/situations like this in the future - for the well being and inclusion of every child in their program.

They truly care about their athletes, they fight for you, and want to see you succeed. My teammates, I can't say enough nice things about them. This is the only team I've been apart of that genuinely feels like a family. They include everyone, every time!! This was my first time competing at a lvl 6 and I learned so much. She basically didn't give me any reassurance that she would be welcoming. Definitely glad we didn't start here. We went to another dance studio that was definitely more friendly and welcoming.
