My child played on the travel ball team and ever since the merge with Veritas and the name changed to Velocity, everything changed & went downhill fast! The environment of the facility became unwelcoming & unsettling and the new coaches & director never even acknowledged the prior players & families. This facility is turned into a place filled with people that weren't honest and only cared about profit. Communication is poor, promises are empty, and kids' growth is not the priority. Don't believe what you see on social media, it's not that whatsoever! Families deserve better than being misled by empty promises. I would not trust them with my child's growth or time again, nor would I ever recommend this place again. Thankfully, there are other programs in the area that are great for the kids & families!! It's our home away from home. The Veritas coaches and staff have been great. Floors are clean, staff is polite, the trainers are knowledgeable, they push our kids to get better every time they step on the court. They are expanding, always looking for improvements and seeking feedback, that in itself shows progress. read more

My sons have been going here for basketball training for 5 years. This place was like a family. The gym was beautiful, and the coaches genuinely cared about the kids. Cut to the "Velocity" rebrand. The place is filthy and looks like it's falling apart. It's no longer something to be proud of. Then we are informed that the prices are increasing DRASTICALLY and we will get less court time. Huh? It has become just a cash grab. And now this... their Velocity Spring Invitational tournament was cancelled on Sunday BECAUSE THE COURTS WEREN'T READY!!! How does that even happen??? This is NOT a good location for learning basketball for children. DO NOT send your children here. They spend half the time doing silly drills that do not help them learn basketball, they yell at the children, they embarass them when they cannot complete the drill. My son comes here for basketball training. I know recently there's a new management here. They rebrand to have better gym and courts, but it's been weeks that I'm here with my kid and the gym is so dirty. The restroom are so dirty and smelly. The floors are sticky and dirty. Had an interesting talk at the open house for the rebranded Velocity HQ. Talked to Coach Bryan and he had pointed out how this place is strictly for business. He had said that the coaches should not care about a relationship with the parents and/or kids. I do not understand how this is not important, as it is crucial for a child's development into the love of the game. Secondly, I returned the following day just to see how the establishment is ran. As I was sitting and looking around, I saw one class that had about 15 to 16 kids in it with only one coach. while I was looking around I saw in a room there was about four or five other coaches just sitting around not doing anything and I don't understand how they couldn't just hop in and help as you could clearly see the coach struggling to maintain all 15 to 16 kids in the class and give each and every single one the mentorship they need. This place has drastically changed for the worst and you can now clearly see it's all just a money grab. read more

Really beautiful interior, spacious and very clean. Three very profound quotes are on the wall as you walk in by Michael Jordan, LeBron, and Kobe. They do have water on sale for a dollar for a pretty big cold arrowhead bottle. The trashcan gets filled really quickly and I wish it would be emptied faster because these kids work so hard they drink two bottles easily!! There is a seating area for the drivers a.k.a. parents. I wish they had some benches also By the entrance area for those who cannot find seating area. The coaching staff are very nice and friendly! The kids will really love this place. read more

My son loves it here. He's here almost everyday now, sometimes just to watch other people play if he doesn't have a scheduled practice. Because of the different levels of players and classes, it really challenges him. Coach T is super supportive. read more

We have been around for a while and already know Veritas is bad news. Let's see if we get our refunds back this time. Don't come to this new program don't attach yourself to the gym. Crazy cause one of the teams in the fight still played Sunday!! What tournament would even that.. moneyyy is clearly more important than the safety of these kids. read more

Stayed with this league for almost two years, and now is time to leave. They do have couple good coaches, like Coach Ricky and Coach Chris. But fortunately, seems like the management team doesn't care about the quality no more. Witnessed this league from GREAT, when we just joined, to So-So/OKAY, to now - UNACCEPTABLE...Sad! especially after what we experienced today with the front desk manager Ralph. Just like some of the reviews here mentioned, bad attitude and rude. Not showing any willingness to help nor listen our feedbacks at all. He literally said "it's your choice" after I shared with him my disappointment of this league and thinking to leave. Anyways, the reality is that there are fewer and fewer kids playing in this league. That tells alot. We bring our son here and it's the 3rd semester we have brought him. He's been learning a lot of basketball skills from his various coaches. The gym is clean and modern and indoors! Which is a plus in my book! The staff are all nice and always says hi! Highly recommend this spot when you want to bring your children here. Not sure what's up with all the 1* reviews but this place is awesome. All the coaches are supportive and patient - all are knowledgeable and work great with kids. Someone wrote a review about someone spilling something on the courts -- maybe they should read the signs that say no liquids on the court? It's posted everywhere. Maybe follow the rules and you won't get kicked out. Simple as that. Both my kids come here and we're going to continue to sign up over and over. The coaches learn the strengths and weaknesses of the kids and REMEMBER them - doesn't matter what day they come if they have to make up or whatever. Sometimes we see the coaches at random places in Chino Hills and it's cool having them remember our kids and our kids remembering their coaches. They're all super respectful and we look forward to coming to our practices every week. Don't hesitate to send your kids here to learn drills and the essentials of playing basketball. We've been part of this gym and their travel/AAU team for several years and I wish you could have seen how wonderfully this place was run until late last year when the gym owner got involved with Veritas Academy and re-branded/re-named the gym Velocity Headquarters. Back when it was 3 Point Play Zone the floors were clean, the facility was well-maintained, and *all* the coaches were capable, kind, and truly cared about the kids and their development, both as players and as individuals. They built 3 Point from the ground up from just a neighborhood basketball gym to a respectable AAU force across all age groups, both girls and boys, and they filled the foyer with well-earned trophies, plaques, and awards. Since Veritas Academy came along, they have muscled out many of the truly good coaches, they are mismanaging the facility (dirty, run-down, etc), and they are trying to position Velocity HQ as an "elite" group of teams, when, in fact, they are only charging elite pricing, without any concrete skills and ability to back it up. They have alienated many of the younger (8, 9, 10U etc) age group teams and parents and have essentially decimated the 3 Point high school age teams. The owner has taken everything that made 3 Point Play Zone home away from home for many loyal families to a total money grab under the guise of "smart business decisions." This weekend's tournament was a disaster which saw a team get into a fight on Saturday and then be allowed to return to tournament play on Sunday, last-minute location and time changes for multiple tourney games, and a literal last-minute entire venue cancellation Sunday morning because none of the Veritas/Velocity folks bothered to show up and get the gym ready for the day's events. It is the least "elite" experience I can imagine paying any amount of money for. The new management scheme is unprofessional, discourteous, and brazenly designed to bilk as much money from unsuspecting parents as possible. There are lots of AAU/travel teams in the area, and to parents considering this place, I would advise you to look anywhere else but here. This place is amazing! I took my 3 year old and 1.5 year old to play in the indoor playground and they absolutely loved it! We played 2.5 hours which felt like plenty of time! Prices $12 for one and $8 for sibling! This was for 3 hours of play! Which was totally enough! They had two workers also playing with the kiddos and cleaning up here and there organizing. It was nice! All staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Plus + *Birthday Parties for toddlers and maybe up to 5 or so would be perfect here! *They will also be having enrichment classes for different ages--soon to come! Also bring socks! read more

If you want to feel racism, this is the place. We paid $600 for one month booking, but we were forced to leave at first visit. One man claimed we are not getting any refund at first place and called police to came here. Here is what happened. One of our guys accidentally spilled water on the floor and he was cleaning by himself. Then one employee came with mad attitude and yelling to us. He started to clean and said F word to everyone sitting by court. While he's cursing, he put trash container in the court so we cannot play. This employee even said F word to one of our guy face to face. Then this guy thrown basketball to the wall and we clam him down. The employee saw this and tried to make him leave. While we talking, he said he is the manager and can make anyone leave for no reason. He yelled:" An Asian guy shouldn't have this temper!" He looks like a Mexican by the way. Of course we refuse his commend. Later on, an African American came and claimed he is the boss and manager. I know he's lying cause this facility's owner is Asian. He started to yell and demanded our group, which has 20 people, to leave now with NO REFUNDS. I asked his name and he refused to give. We tried to talk this through, but all the sudden, he gave mad attitude again and said:" I'm done talking with your stupid Asian and you all stupid! You won't get any money back." After yelling, he called police. Officers came and talked to this "Manager". Then told us that we should leave now or will be arrested for trespassing. We had no choice but accepted what police officers said. Luckily, we can have our refund back. I never felt this shame at anyplace. Because we are Asian, we were call stupid without any discussion. It's true we wanted to be peaceful and humble with anyone. Yet we do have temper when racism happens. As a customer, I understand business has right to refuse service to anyone, but threatening and humiliating are unacceptable. If you want to have basic respect, don't go to 3 Point Play Zone. I know Mr. Yang is the real owner of this facility. Maybe he doesn't know the behaviors of his employees. Hopefully, I can have an explanation from the real manager. read more

We have been playing basketball at 3 Point for almost 4 years. Coach T and the staff have been great. They have been keeping the court clean and ready for play all the time. They are extremely friendly and easy to work with. Special thanks to Julianna and others who always come on time to open the door for our group since we play in the early morning. If you want to know how to ruin a first impression, listen to this review: I'll start with the positives: the basketball courts are beautiful. That's the end of the highlights. When we arrived they were somewhat scrounging to find our names even though I'd be in an email thread with an employee for over a month. Not a big deal though, we were told to wait at a table and the kids put on their shoes. We should have known it wasn't going to turn out well when the lady who checked us in then approached a couple of coaches to see who was going to work with our kids for the free trial session. Looked like she had to beg one of them to help us (we see everything). Now I'll give some context so it doesn't seem like I'm hating on this business: I've coached youth basketball for over 10 years from ages 5-18. Not saying I'm the greatest, but I've had success both on the teaching and relationship side (players & parents). So of course I'm going to have more of a critical eye for this, but still...this was unacceptable. Once our kids were called over to a court, one of the coaches started off with dribbling. That's fine, but anyone who works with kids knows you have to assess talent before you assign drills. Hey, maybe you're a good player, but talent on the court doesn't translate to the bench (coaching) automatically. Also there was a younger player who was tagging around and the coach wasn't that focused on our kids. Not exactly a professional look. They started with one hand crossovers stationary then moving to half court and back. How does he know kids can accomplish that? My son is 5 years old and hasn't played on a team before. For starters when a child is that young, you use a smaller ball. I'm sure they were available there. Next, if the ball is already big and his hands are small, wouldn't a crossover be better suited from one hand to the other? I get challenging kids, but if you're assuming each kid is at a certain level before even seeing them play that's just poor decision making. Surprisingly my daughter did alright, but then they moved on to putting the ball between their legs and walking. Once again, the ball is already big so what are the chances he can go between his legs let alone walk forward to half court and walk backwards doing it back to the baseline? As a side note, if basketball drills aren't transferable to a game why do them? Not saying ball handling isn't important, it is, but I watch even trainers who work with pros to know cool looking drills are more about the coach's ego than actually helping the player improve their skill level. Back to the session, after it was over my son said he kept telling him to do it and that he was doing it wrong. We're no helicopter parents, yet part of coaching kids is teaching to their level. Are you setting players up to succeed or fail? Clearly this guy didn't know how to do that. Both my kids were trying their best, but at one point my son started stomping his feet and grunting because he was upset/frustrated. My wife and I looked at each other and started walking towards them. An employee, who had no idea what was going on, tried to stop us saying it's ok let him handle it actually thought she could deter us. She was wrong. We're at a 20 minute free trial class. Maybe not pissing a kid off in 10 minutes should be the standard, but maybe I set my expectations too high?! People make mistakes and I get that, but the most disappointing part was the entire staff saw the incident (they were the only kids on either court at the time) and did nothing. The coach didn't apologize. The employees looked the other way. After we washed our hands in the restroom, they just let us walk out. From a business perspective, is that the experience you want a first time customer to feel and other customers to witness? Not sure if the owners or a manager were present, but if they were it's an even worse look on them. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume no leadership was represented. That means the staff isn't trained well or their hiring process is poor. Although this is a basketball facility (sounds like a product), you deliver a service. Outside of the cleanliness and look of your gym what really matters is your customer service. From my opinion they failed miserably today. We don't live in the area, but were considering it as an option for future use. Now we'll never step foot in there and will tell everyone who asks to stay away. Most of the reviews so far are about the kids play area not the basketball programs/coaches. It'd be a shame if this facility didn't make it because of their customer service, but with our experience it doesn't look promising at all. read more

I have such mixed feelings about this place. As far as lessons not all coaches are equal. Some correct form, some don't care if the kids do it wrong. The manager is rude and not friendly. But his brother is so nice, coach Dre also. As far as the league, for what they are charging $425! For 8weeks is crazy.1.5 hr practice mostly skills and not focused on game play. Then a game less than 1hr. The refs suck, there is definite favoritism for coaches and kids. The gym is beautiful though, clean, ac, bathrooms etc. Found a great trainer 4hrs a week half the cost. My kid learned so much in just 1 week. I really cant get over the charge of the league though, just crazy. This is not travel ball. read more

There are a few good coaches but for the most part it's about money with private lessons and their ego to win games not teach. Very organized basketball location, very clean, very reliable. Initially we tried to sign up for youth basketball through the city but the coaches each make up their own practice schedule and we don't know what they decide until after we sign up and show up the day of. Then on top of that, our coach didn't show up two weeks in a row, leaving me and others waiting over an hour. I said forget it! I'm signing up with 3 Point even though it's pricier. It's well worth it to be at a super organized facility and business where coaches and staff are always there. There have never been any of the incidences that I mentioned above that I've encountered with the local city basketball programs. The facility is beautiful and new, always clean. The staff are nice and friendly. There are always several staff at the front desk to help you. The coaches know what they're doing, know how to teach basketball. They also have a beautiful new hidden playground center you only see when you walk in. read more

My son is 7 and has been going to 3 Point Play zone since last Summer. He loves it there. His basketball skill has improved a lot since he joined the Titan League (TBA). All the coaches and employees there are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He also participated in their summer camp this year. The place is very clean and well-maintained. They also make the environment very comfortable for the parents to watch the games there. My son would rather skip going to any amusement parks on weekends than missing his TBA practice and game time. Playing basketball is now his passion. =) read more
