We absolutely love Adaptive Athlete! The coaches are fantastic! They're so patient and encouraging, and they genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. Sometimes my daughter has tougher days, especially if she didn't get a great nap, but the coaches always know how to meet her where she's at and make class enjoyable. They're constantly teaching her new skills while making learning fun, and we've seen so much growth in her confidence. This place will judge you child right of the back just through a phone call and then will not answer the phone if you have questions. I had to call with a different number to get someone to pickup and answer the phone. That is not professional at all. Its sad that are kids with autism are judged and not give a chance to explore different activities but I know their is a place out there just not here. read more

My daughter wanted to start gymnastics and could not find a place with structure and good coaches. We were referred by a friend to the adaptive athlete and have been going for nearly two years. My daughters look forward to going to class weekly! The classes are structured and the student to teacher ratio is great. The gym is clean & safe, I feel great about my girls going here. Front desk secretaries are always helpful answering questions, rescheduling classes when my kiddos are sick, and they create an atmosphere of professionalism, friendliness, and care for the students and parents. Hands down the best gymnastics classes to start your little one in! My daughters have both vastly improved in their gymnastic abilities but also their confidence and determination! Gymnastics classes have quickly become their favorite part of the week and they continually practice their new skills at home in between classes. One of the most difficult parts of being a parent to a kiddo with autism is finding allies in your community. An ally is someone that understands, supports, and empathizes with your child's disability. Community allies provide a safe space, free of judgment, for our kiddos to explore and realize their talents and special interests. The Adaptive Athlete is not a community ally. Adaptive Gymnastics classes consist of a tumble track obstacle course, group stretching, and free play. If your child elopes from the obstacle course activity, instructors do not support parents in helping re-engage their children. If your child happens to cross into a Neurotypical class you will be met with dirty looks or flat out rude and demeaning comments. It is unclear if the staff has any training or credentials at all. Evidence Based Practices and behavior strategies are not utilized or understood. The staff has no understanding of proprioception and sensory supports for autistic children. This is a tragedy because our children have so few community supports and social resources in our area. It really pains me to remove my 6-year-old son from this program because he truly loves playing here but I need to protect him from judgment, ignorance, and discrimination. If you are a parent of a child with Autism, beware of the Adaptive Athlete. read more

There is nothing adaptive or inclusive about this gym. I enrolled my 6 yro autistic child in the adaptive class for neurodivergence. We were immediately judged upon arrival by staff and other ASD parents (which was wild to me). This was not a welcoming experience. It's just upsetting that we finally had something catered to ASD close by for it to be this disappointing. Autistic kids elope, don't listen to direction right away, and have other siblings that have to come along! None of this was catered. There many other programs out there better than the adaptive athlete that are more inclusive to families. I asked for an immediate refund. If you're going to market to the neurodivergent, do better! read more

Tried the Sweet Peas program for 3 months. The coaches are cold and dismissive, never once said hello or smiled to myself or to the other parents. We love The Adaptive Athlete! My daughter started in the Three Peas class at age 3, and it was the perfect introduction to basic tumbling. The class sizes are small enough (usually 4-6 kids) so that everyone gets ample time and attention. The instructors are so kind and patient, and most importantly, they love kids! Every class for us looked different, with different stations, activities, and obstacles set up so that the little ones never got bored. I now have my 8 month old in their Wee Peas class, which is amazing because it's FREE! We love the staff, especially Ms. Bianca, Ms. Brittany, and Ms. Jillian, who have always made us feel like family. It's pretty amazing watching them work with their special needs students as well. Only reason why I chose one star is because I have to select one to write a review. I am so disappointed with the gymnastics program they run here. Had my daughter enrolled in a Saturday class and realized they didn't really pay attention to all the kids so I switched her to a smaller class come to fine out it still had the same amount of kids with only one instructor. They do not take the time out to teach the kids the proper techniques and my daughter came to me during class crying because she noticed herself that the instructor/instructors do not pay attention nor teach her EVER. We LOVE the Adaptive Athlete! My son and I train there with Coaches Ryan and Bianca. I love how the coaches are so creative with training, especially how they make everything adaptable to our needs. The knowledge and professionalism is off the charts! Ryan has the ability to correct my form and explain why it is we do the functional movements to prevent injury and to maximize my performance. My son Austin absolutely LOVES going to workout at the Adaptive Athlete. He loves Ryan and Bianca. Bianca is very patient and also knows how to train special needs. I overly babied my son and he had very little awareness of his body because of it - not coordinated, couldn't get the hang of sports, etc. We heard about this place from another parent at school and have been coming here for holiday and summer camps, along with weekly ninja classes. Everyone here is friendly and great with kids and my son looks forward to coming here every week! I cannot recommend this place enough! My son is almost 5 and has been attending the summer camps about twice a week. He LOVES being here! The staff is incredible and they greet him by name at the door. Most days, he forgets to say bye to me before running off to play! When I pick him up, he's all sweaty and tired but sooo happy. He always asks when is the next time that he can go back. We're sad the summer camps are coming to an end but there are so many different classes at this gym and so much to do, so we know we'll find another reason to visit all the time read more

Our kids, 12 and 14 years old, tried an introductory class. The gym and staff are top notch. The owner has created a wonderful place for kids of different abilities to get the exercise they need. We love The Adaptive Athlete! They have fitness classes for everyone ... adults, kids, special needs, etc. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Coach Ryan is awesome. I have two kids with special needs and he really takes the time to get to know them individually. He intuitively knows how to tailor their workouts based on their moods and knows just how far to push them.
