Love coach Jennifer. Best place to go for beginners. My daughter loves gymnastic because of this place and not only is she excelling but she is being taught carefully (the basic gymnastics skills that are needed). She was at another gym and felt insecure and wasn't able to succeed in the foundation needed in the class. If you have tiny tots that wants to start gymnastics, this is a great spot. This post is for Parents with Special Needs Kids. This place is not friendly with children with disabilities. I have read all the positive reviews from yelp and wanted to try it out for my child. I have a four year old daughter with mild autism. Though she is non-verbal, she loves to tumble and climb. When we arrived at Gymtots she loved the place right away and wanted to explore, some kids were already warming up. We met Coach Jennifer. I have explained to her that my daughter is on the spectrum. My daughter went straightaway to the gym structures and explored. When she would not sit on the mat with the other kids, Coach Jennifer escorted her and brought her back to me and said, "we will try later." Coach Jennifer continued to instruct the other kids, while we watched. Roughly, five minutes later, my daughter wanted to go in but she went straight to the gym structures yet again. Coach Jennifer carried her back to me and said, "Sorry, we cannot accommodate her. Our programs are all structured." I asked if they have a beginner programs that my daughter can participate in since this is the first time that she has been in a gymnastics center. Coach Jennifer downright rejected her and told us that they don't have programs for suitable for her. No consideration or anything. I left Gymtots with my daughter crying. She had been enjoying herself and wanted to stay. I was heartbroken for her and for the fact that she had been discriminated against due to her disability. She is only four years old and I am realizing now how harsh this world can be for children like her. She could not access recreational activities such as gymnastics like any other kid. I would expect that, in this day and age, coaches and private sport centers would be attune to the needs of, not only disabled children but all children who maybe different than the elite. Now, having read previous posts on this forum, it is clear that Coach Jennifer has had problematic behaviors like this with very young children in the past, 2 year old. The owner replied to the negative review, said that changes would be made internally. It seems evident that the same problems are ongoing. read more

I started bringing my 1 year old to the tots in motion class in June and we both really enjoyed the classes. Coach Jennifer was great with all the kids especially mine, my little girl will be 2 in August so her attention span is short and she is super excited from the moment we walk in she just runs around in excitement. I would chase my daughter around so she would be involved in what coach Jennifer was singing & doing but the coach told me to just let her express herself and let her be free so I stopped chasing her around as much & let her enjoy herself. Come to July they got a new coach and right off the bat I was already not feeling her. My daughter ran to rang the bell like she always does & the new coach starts telling her no that's only for teachers which is strange bc my daughter & all the other kids always ring it (it's also hung at a TODDLER LEVEL) & coach Jennifer never said a thing. It's time for us to sit in our circle and sing & dance & my daughter being a NORMAL 1 year old didn't want to stay & sit on a dot on the mat, she wanted to run around & play like she normally would & I could tell the new coach was getting frustrated with my daughter right away, she keeps telling her to sit down & stuff. Which was kind of bothering me bc the other coaches never would say anything. But whatever I let it go, & just tried to get my daughter to sit & listen but she wanted to play. The teacher starts handing out toys for the kids & my daughter was like her little tail crying for a toy but the teacher was saying sit down for your toy make sure you sit down. I grab my daughter so she can sit with me & get her toy, while I'm doing my best to keep my daughter on the dot sitting, my daughter is crying & getting frustrated bc she wants a toy & doesn't want to be forced to sit, the coach is handing a toy to the kid next to us & as it's our turn for a toy she skips us & goes to another kid & makes my kid scream & cry more. Like I don't understand what was the point of that? To teach a one year old a lesson? You see her crying for a toy & she's sitting down but you go & skip her. After that I was PISSED. My daughter was frustrated as well & still didn't want to just sit so we grabbed our stuff & walked out bc the new coach was making us feel like we were bothering the rest of the class. I did not like the vibe that she was giving, I like the old coach better, coach Jennifer. Mind you this is a class for 18 month olds & 3 year olds, if you don't have the patience to work with kids then this ain't the job for you. I already paid for the month so I'm going to continue to bring my daughter for the rest of the month but these NEW coaches need to learn how to work with toddlers. I still gave three stars bc the first month we REALLY ENJOYED & had no issues, it's this new coach that is ruining our experience. read more

The coaches and classes were great! My daughter took classes here for 2 years. We moved right before the pandemic when she was close to 5, otherwise we would have stayed until she reaches the upper age limit here. Because of the excellent experience, I enrolled her in a gym near my new place last year. Though she is now in school age classes, for the last year I have observed quite a bit the preschool classes at the new place and appreciate more how lucky we were to have Gymtot closeby when she was younger. The coaches we had at Gymtot were all nice, some more bubblely some more quiet but all keep their attentions on the kids all the time during class. In comparison I was a bit shocked to see a coach at my new place looking or talking on her phone often while teaching preschoolers. Luckily she doesn't teach school age kids here. I also felt Gymtot classes have a good balance of structure and fun compared to the preschool classes I witnessed here. While at Gymtot when not exercising together, the kids would be in a "circus" doing different activities/stations in sequence with the coach(es) staying at fixed places helping/correcting the kids on the "bigger" skill in the sequence, while keeping an eye on the other stations. The whole process seemed pretty structured/efficient to me. I checked out yelp review back then before I started my kid here. Today while researching gyms for school age kids I checked back here again, and thought I should give a shout out to Gymtot, and recommend it to all who likes the kind of classes I tried to describe above. Open gym might be a better fit for parents/kids who prefers more free-spirited less structured gym activities. read more

I love that they consistently keep the classes challenging and fun. There has never been a time where we came here and I questioned if it was worth it. I see how my daughter has made improvements and the short while we have come to these classes. Classes stopped due to Covid but they sent families videos and then reopened with smaller class sizes and lots of changes in places. read more

Gymtots is a great place to bring the kids!! We came to Saturday morning open gym (2 hour block - we stayed an hour and a half) and had a blast! Coach Jennifer was awesome with my 1 year old! She was gentle and fun and did great to make sure and all the other kids were safe the entire time. Her instructions were always clear and she did a great job playing with the kids and keeping them occupied and active. The gym is very clean and safe, complete with balance beams, rings, a small climbing wall, and a foam pit. There was a slide, mats, and even a bar and trampolines. Plus there was more fun stuff that Coach brought out to appease more of the younger tots. They did dancing time also, along with block building toward the end of open gym. Highly recommend! My little one passed out shortly after leaving the gym. read more

I highly recommend Gymtots. My daughter loves the coaches and I appreciate the structure that they provide for the students. Children know what to expect when they attend. I have noticed my daughter gain an awareness of her body as she attended classes. Coach Jennifer does a terrific job of showing the students the moves or exercises and then does not let your child do it incorrectly. She guides the child and corrects form. I feel like this is a quality program. The student to instructor ratio is also low and allows your child to always be under the attention and direction of an instructor. Took my daughter for the first time today and was so happy with everything I witnessed. The two coaches were so patient and had just the right amount of discipline to make sure my daughter listened. I was quite embarrassed in the beginning because my daughter was so excited she wasn't listening at all but within 10 minutes she was listening better and getting involved. They do a wonderful job at awarding great behavior every step of the way. I wondered if my daughter would like it but to be honest there is no way any kid can walk into this place and not enjoy themselves. My daughter cried when we had to leave so fair to say she's joining the Friday class weekly. read more

Love this place. We came for a free trial class on Thursday. Coach Jennifer was attentive, approachable and very professional. The gym was small, but filled age appropriate equipment that was well maintained and clean! Although my newly minted 3 year old was a bit too excited to follow instructions and had to sit out for part of the class (in order not to disrupt the test of the class), she did offer a work around. It was recommended he come to open play 2 times to get acquainted with the equipment in order to better follow instructions in class. At NO point did she make my son (or me!) feel less than worthy or unwelcome due to his excitability. We really appreciated that considering my son quietly observed and mimicked the moves being executed from the sidelines while waiting his turn. Today, we attended the open gym and just as coach Jennifer suggested, after running around and playing with everything, my son was able to better follow instruction, more confident and more independent. Smiles all around. We can't wait to start class officially! Location was easy to find with plenty of parking. Very convenient that they are located next to a market (Pavillions) so you can go grocery shopping during or after class. Other employees and parents seem to be fun and like minded. Doing my part to spread the word and hope they continue to grow, add more students and by extension, classes! read more

Excellent instruction and skills for all toddlers! The coaches at Gymtots truly understand this age range. I took my daughter to weekly classes from age 2 all the way through 5. She learned so much more than gymnastic skills- like how to listen and follow instructions independently, patiently wait and support her peers, and have the opportunity to be a leader even though she is a bit shy and less coordinated. Im going to start off by saying that we really enjoyed this class at first. It is very clean and the staff especially coach Jennifer were very friendly at the beginning. My 2yr old daughter went for a total of 6-7 classes. The first few were great given that this was the first activity or class she'd ever been enrolled in where I didn't have to join with her. My daughter needed more practice with learning how to stay on her apple and wait her turn for things (as most normal 2 yr olds) you could very well tell how frustrated coach Jennifer got with her. I could tell my daughter also felt her frustration and in turn my daughter didn't want to participate anymore. We left class early because my daughter was not happy with the environment that day and I didn't want her to distract the class. It was disappointing, but I was more disappointed in the way things were handled. Coach Jennifer called me and told me my daughter shouldn't come back for class for 2 weeks and after that we could "revisit" joining again. I was caught off guard and felt like she basically kicked my daughter out for being a normal, not perfect, toddler. I believe with more practice, patience, and understanding from coach Jennifer my daughter would have excelled. I also want to add that I was not the only parent that expressed concern for coach Jennifer's frustration towards my daughter. That should really say something! Not coming back. read more

My 2.5 year old enjoys coming here. The coaches are consistent which is a huge plus. My daughter is comfortable with the coaches during the 45 minute class and surprisingly doesn't need to have me next to her. She learns skills like balancing, jumping, hanging, climbing, stretching, tumbling; as well as, listening, following directions, and waiting her turn. My daughter started last September 2016, we did 1/week, she loves it so much now she is going there 2/week. My daughter started gymnastics at 22 months at another place which was closer to us, she was there for almost 3 years and honestly she did not really learn anything except forward roll. I love Gymtots because I noticed that they are really focus on gymnastics, my daughter learned so much and she just been there for a few months, the coach are very knowledgeable and the ratio of coach to students is amazing, the most 1:3. My daughter is really enjoying her class and I noticed how more confident she is now. And she cant wait for her classes she always look forward to going there. The place is always clean, I always see them sanitizing the equipments. Parking is not a problem, and we usually do last minute shopping at Albertson or get a drink at Starbucks while waiting for my daughter. I highly recommend Gymtots and I wish they will have classes for bigger kids so my daughter can conitnue going there. read more

The very best activity for my soon to be 2 year old! They teach her to follow directions and listen to instructions, all the while building her coordination and strength.
