When you're looking for any type of school, you want to make sure the instructors treat your kids as if they were their own. Today, multiple staff did that for my daughter. We've been going to this school since they were in Fullerton, and they've always been great. My daughter started with Mr Nori and he's one of her favorite instructors. She's gone through a few instructors and we've never had a bad experience. My son now attends the school too. This morning, my daughter had a make up class and had to go into a different swim lane with a new teacher. She's been apprehensive about leaving her current school and starting kinder next year, and the emotions came out today. She started crying and holding onto me when she saw the new lane and instructor and said she doesn't want new things. Within seconds, Mr Scott came over and began comforting her asking if she'd like to see her other instructor Mayumi. Mayumi wasn't even dressed to go in the water, but rolled up her jeans and sat in another lane with her. Mr Nori came by to say hi and comfort her, and Mr Christopher gave her a private lesson for a few minutes while she adjusted. He eventually asked her if she wanted to join him in the new lane with the new instructor, and she said yes and was happy the rest of the time. Mayumi also came back to check on her. This is the level of care any parent looks for in a school and I highly recommend coming here. read more

Our kids have been swimming at their Fullerton location since 2021 and recently transferred to their newest location. Our kids were excited to see the new facility and enjoyed everything it had to offer during their first visit. The motion activated splash pad was a hit with our 7 yr old while he waited for his class to start. The swim suit dryers and plentiful changing stalls are very convenient. The viewing room is also a very nice added touch to the facility. All the instructors have been great over the years at Fullerton and we were told we'll see some at the Placentia location as well. They are located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. read more

We enrolled our son at Australian Swim School when he was just 3.5 months old, and it has honestly been one of the best choices we've made as new parents. Now at 5 months, we can already see how much confidence and comfort he's developed in the water. What started as simple splashes and floating has turned into purposeful movements, smiles, and so much excitement whenever we walk into the pool. The instructors are absolutely wonderful--they're warm, patient, and make every class such a positive experience. They take the time to explain each step, making sure both parents and babies feel comfortable. You can tell they truly care about building water safety skills while also making it fun and engaging for the little ones. For us, the classes have also been an incredible bonding experience. Being in the water together has given us special one-on-one time with our baby, and it's amazing to see his little milestones each week. From learning how to float on his back to holding his breath under water for a few seconds, it's been so rewarding to watch his progress. We're so grateful we started early--this program has given our son a head start not just in water safety, but also in confidence and joy around swimming. We highly recommend Australian Swim School to any parent considering lessons for their baby. My son loves coming to his classes. He's 3 and I love how excited he is. The splash pad and viewing room help him get acclimated to the area before his swim. Sebastian is amazing and he loved his one class with Sara. Good confidence builder and working on safety in water. read more

My son started his swim class at 4 months and is now 9 months and he looks forward to his weekly classes. I've seen so much growth when it comes to his swim and verbal communication with the other children in his class, very fun to see him learn so little. The facility is very clean and the staff are always available for questions. read more

Excellent experience here. Facilities - Clean, new, spacious. WARM showers of different heights and many changing rooms of different sizes -- important when trying to fit swimmers and siblings :). Also a separate waiting area with a small play area and three TVs... and a splash pad! And pool water is warm. Instructors - We've worked with a number of instructors due to our own schedule changes (Nori, David, Kaitlyn, Mae, Sawyer) and all have been good and bring different styles. Recommend finding the right instructor for you. I appreciate that for my older kids - the teachers encourage and push them (safely) beyond what they thought they can do (including swimming on the deeper side!). They check in to see how the student is feeling (tired etc). For my youngest in parent and me, they challenge him and are building his confidence. I was nervous/worried too the first session when he was screaming crying and again when he started going under water. But.. trust the process and give it time. The instructors are monitoring the cues for holding breath, reactions, drinking water, etc. Instruction - Form and fundamentals are important. Feedback is given to the students and they progress (vs some schools may feel like they keep you at that level and take your money :). I also appreciate the way the business is run. They're responsive via email and phone, folks are willing to help. If there's an extra teacher without a class and they're able, they will split a fuller class so the students can have more reps. Excellent and brand new facility! I am transferring over from their Fullerton location. The instructors are excellent and they've taken my son from someone who is afraid of the pool to someone who is trying to master the butterfly stroke. I highly recommend this place and their new facility is top notch with individual changing stalls and plenty of seating. read more

Have been going here and the fullerton location for a good while, love the friendly instructors and the staff always is always willing to help and are always friendly. You can see the passion poured into this business and the owner is helpful and understanding as well. My kid has learned to swim and the instruction is based on proper technique and safety while explaining it to kids in a way they can understand. Patient instructors. Don't let the shiny brand new facility fool you. It's all pretty until you look inside and find the problems within this space and it starts with the owners - Jena and Cale. Interaction after interaction over the course of our month with them progressively got worse. During our first day of parent and me class, I brought up my concern about my daughter's needs to warm up to a space and people before moving up into classes without me. She is 3 and is (apparently) considered old for a PME class. I was met with a lack of support and understanding, all while belittling our needs in every conversation with a "they'll cry for about 3-4 weeks then will get over it" and a "well if you're nervous then she's going to be nervous" attitude. Each week, Jena and Cale have looked at us as if it's the first time we've met, then pressure us to move her up with a "benefit" to make it "convenient for me to not get in the water" (it's not about me - my priority is making my daughter feel safe and heard, while moving at her pace). My daughter has been unwillingly swim tested by each teacher to move up a class with our needs completely disregarded. My daughter went from being excited about swim classes to dreading them, so we pulled her out. When calling in for an absence for a 2nd time, Jena left a message saying that I wouldn't get the make up class without a doctors note (which in a later conversation was met with "it's not black and white, but I was stating our policy" - this should have been said in the voicemail.) The best thing they did was refund us for the rest of the month. There is a lack of heart from the owners here that's for sure. One exception to this review is Jose. We had him in class once and he was the kindest, most understanding teacher in this space who said all the words the owners should have said. They're lucky to have him. It's such a shame because we were so excited for this swim school. read more

This place is amazing! The place is nice and clean, they have showers and plenty of dressing rooms, the staff is great! We were waiting for this place to open up as we watched it being belt(my son goes to the karate studio near by) and when we did I was able to get a tour and schedule my first class. My son did amazing and was able to move up within two weeks( he use to go to aqua ducks), and since his lesson he's been so much confident in the pool. read more
