This is a nice little park located atop the hill, so it has nice views of the mountains in the background. On a clear day you can see out further near L.A. too. Lots of people walking dogs, there are trash cans, a few benches and picnic tables. Somewhat peaceful but lots of traffic right off the main roads. After days of rainy weather in late November, I saw a large rainbow while driving. Thinking I'd get nice views, I drove to Mountain View Park. There are a few parking spaces available, so I had to wait a little bit for someone to leave. I prefer to park across the street by Vista Park. We needed a place to crash between water polo games in Brea. I saw this park on Yelp, so my son and I checked it out. It is small, but the view is terrific and there are lots of trees to provide shade on a hot summer day. We pulled into the parking lot, i reclined my seat and enjoyed the view from my truck while I listened to the birds. A good place to recharge. read more

One of the things that calms me down whenever I'm feeling stressed or in need of fresh air is taking a walk at a park. On this particular day before heading out to meet a friend, I just needed to get some peace of mind. Luckily, this park is closely located to where my friend resides so I wanted to make a quick stop here to just relax and think. The park is very simple, as there aren't any playground equipment; only sidewalk trails and some benches. There is an overview of a nearby neighborhood along with hills and mountains in the distance. The parking lot, however, is quite cramped and small. I would say that after visiting this park and taking in all the scenery, I felt much better and at ease. read more

A quiet, quaint little park on the corner of Bastanchury and State College...it is a relaxing spot. There is little area for parking but most people that frequent the park live near the neighborhood. Across is a nice restaurant called Summit House and there is a trail that is popular on that side of the road...but currently closed due to COVID. There are no amenities in the park and you will not be able to host some big BBQ bash or set up canopies or volleyball nets...but it is great for a little stroll and have some self reflection time...or a great park for you to take a toddler so they could run around and go wild. At night time there are couples taking an evening stroll and the area is peaceful with less traffic in any direction. Overall a pleasant park. Nice. read more

Very small park with a very small parking lot (around 12 or 15 spaces?) attached to it. At the northwest corner of Bastanchury and State College Blvd, the only entrance into the parking lot is off of State College (NOT Bastanchury). Otherwise, you can park in the lower parking lot of Summit House, which is actually for the park. Entrances on Bastanchury and State College Blvd. In terms of walkways, you can walk the sidewalk path/trail up to Summit House if you park in that parking lot underneath Summit House. Otherwise. You can get a great view of the city lights at night if you go high enough and face south. If you're staying strictly in Mountain View Park, you can go north to go downhill and hit residential areas via the sidewalk, or stay in the park where there are benches and a water fountain. Puppy loved the grass, so will probably come back. Be aware of the spider webs during the warmer weather! read more

This is a small neighborhood park. It's on the top of the hill. And it's at the corner of a busy intersection. There is not many parking spots. About a dozen or so. The park is small. But the view. Is what people go for. Great to see the sunset. Great to show the valley. My mom loved the park. It has a couple of benches to sit on. If you walk from the mall to here. It's a nice walk. And you can enjoy the view while you sit. There is no jungle gym. Just grass and some trees. read more

Love this park! Unfortunately I had a bad experience when a staff member(?) in an unmarked truck came into the parking lot and honked repeatedly with their lights flashing in an intimidating manner. They then pulled onto the street and began closing the gate as an attempt to get all those with their cars still in the lot to leave. Small local park with a private lot for parking. Located on a hill that over looks the neighborhood below but has a great view of the mountains. A few shrubs of flowers and plants. A lot of little animals like lizards, hummingbirds etc. Great for photos but located on a corner of a busy street so there is a lot of noise but it's really nice. This is my favorite place in the whole of Orange County. I used to stop by here almost everyday back when I lived here. On a clear day you can see the building in downtown LA and the palm trees in santa monica beach. If you like watching airplanes, this is a great place to relax and watch the airplanes flying in and out of Ontario/SNA/LAX. Great view of Brea, Yorba Linda, Fullerton. This is also a great place to view 4th of July fireworks. There is a small parking lot for about 8-10 spots along Bastanchury Rd. read more

This was a beautiful find! A friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat and just vent. I found this place a mile away from Brea mall! It was very cozy and beautiful! It isn't that big so don't expect some grand park. Just go to enjoy the view and the person you're with. There are many benches and seating areas. Parking is limited so park nearby if you don't find any parking spots. It gets dark so watch out for any spider webs. I almost walked into 3 while I was there :-/ with some huge spiders in it. The only reason I gave this place four stars and not five is due to the lack of release for your IBS or UTI (jk). But seriously, there are no restrooms at all so it's really inconvenient if you plan on staying there with a significant other. You would have to leave to use the restroom which completely sucks. Other than that, I loved the place! read more

This is probably my favorite park to sit and have a mental breakdown at, lmAo. You get a fairly nice view overlooking the Fullerton/Brea area, which is a bit nicer at night. There's a private parking lot here, but they close it at around 10PM. If you're planning a late trip out here, you can park across the street near the fancy steak house and just walk on over. Reason for knocking off a star is because the tables are usually really dirty and gross to sit at. Other than that, this place is a pretty nice park. read more

Nice little and when I mean little.. I mean very very small park on top of a hill in a busy intersection. Probably on a clear day you can see a panoramic view of LA to the OC, however, we don't get much of those days here in Cali.. Cali=pollution! However, the parking lot is also closed right now, so the only place to park is all the way down the hill or in the Summit House extra parking lot (Sorry Summit House) but not sure if you would get ticketed/towed. The park is nice however, the tall trees obstruct your view and you don't get to take a great picture of the entire senic view. Also, if you look down, there are just a bunch of "rich" ppl home or shall I say.. bank owned homes.. and nice bank owned cars.. Haha!! Just kidding.. Nice gated communities and cars.. This place only gets an A OK because it's not really secluded nor peaceful. read more

This is a very small park. Small as it is, the view on a clear day is one of the best in Fullerton. You can see the buildings of LA in the distance. And Mount Baldy as well. I thought it was a great place to be. Smell of freshly cut grass, clear sunny day, soft breeze. Glorious. read more

This small park has a great view of the city. Many people come here to take prom pictures or pictures for other occasions. I have visited this park several times. One of my favorite places to go to when I have a long gap during my school days to just sit and relax. Came here this morning to enjoy my açaí bowl from Nature's Juice (highly recommend btw, about 5 minutes away from here!) and do some writing in my journal and wow it was perfect! Every time I come here I just feel so at peace. An added bonus was that I was completely alone and there was no one else there, woohoo! Yes it is a very small park but it is very well kept and simply beautiful! It has a nice view of the mountains and lots of benches and tables for a picnic or to paint, write, read. It's very peaceful. I love coming here when I just need to think in peace, since not a lot of people stroll by here. The birds chirping, the leaves falling, AHH I LOVE IT! Feeling overwhelmed? Let me tell you a story. Yes, again I know. I can remember this park, Mountain View Park in Fullerton, ever since the early 2000's. You can research and find out that it was established in 2002. Before that, especially when I lived here during some of my childhood in the early-mid 1990's. I actually don't recall what this area was back then. I would assume it was just a plain field with your typical chain-linked fence up with green construction tarp on it, who knows. Point being, this park I like for several reasons and let me tell you why. First, when living in Mid-South Orange County (close to the beaches) back when first started to notice this particular park, but never really stopped to "smell the roses" you can say, I used to exit off the Yorba LInda Blvd., exit on the 57 Freeway. I would exit, make my left on Yorba, then make a right hand turn on Associated Road and then proceed to making a left on Bastanchury Road. I'd go east up the HUGE hill that would give almost anyone a "burn" in their legs if they were even to attempt something so much as a fast paced walk. Reaching Bastanchury Road where it intersects with State College Blvd. I would find myself from time to time, stopped at a red light there, facing east, as I was going to my destination of La Habra, where I was visiting a good friend of mine. But I would never really look at what beauty lied right in front of me! Then again, during that time, It was far from my mind. Just the way it was I guess. This would continue on for a couple years. Secondly, I started to really notice what this park had to offer as time went on from first discovering it, but not really paying attention to the details of it. I'd say it was about 2007 is when I really started to look out onto the horizon, no really, and seeing silhouettes of the San Gabriel Mountains, and a line of very tall palm trees that would line the street near where I grew up just thirteen years before. Then, just then I really started to understand why it was called "Mountain View Park". The View was just...wow. Now, just in these past two years and especially this last year alone, I have really come to appreciate this park altogether. Every time I drive up to the top of Bastanchury and State College, I have the tendency to slow my speed just to the point where I can enjoy the view of the San Gabriel's, the Palm Trees that still remain from my childhood memories and neighborhood, and last but certainly not least...the silhouette of the Los Angeles Skyline. Wow. You'd never think you could see it all of this, but it's on a pretty big hill (mountain). Also on a crystal clear blue-sky shiny day you can even faintly see, but will most likely need binoculars, to see the HOLLYWOOD SIGN itself! Pretty cool eh? So from time to time, I always include the E Bastanchury Road Hill during my exercise walks/runs or even for casual walk. This way I can reach the destination of the Mountain View Park and just stand....or sit, and look out and enjoy what that park has to offer. Mind you, it's not big, it doesn't have ducks, a pond, a lake, or even tents or barbecues, but what it does have is...A MOUNTAIN VIEW! I'm glad they established this in 2002, hey, better late than never! I still can't for the life of me, figure out what it was prior to what it is now. Plus, this park has been the destination for viewing fireworks for me these last two years (2010 & 2011). To be honest, the firework show was better last year than it was this year, that's because since a year ago, the trees that surround the hillside seemed to have grown much taller, obstructing the view of fireworks coming from La Habra, Fullerton H.S. and so on. But that's okay, you were still able to see some good ones in the not too far distance out in the city of Yorba Linda. It's still a good place to go and it seems to always attract a bunch of people (atleast 200 of so). In conclusion, whether it's for fireworks or just a walk on a nice morning, afternoon or evening, Mountain View Park is a great place to stop and "smell the roses", in other words, really stop and look what you have around you and just to remind how small we all really are in this world. It's a great experience and I know that I will not stop going here from time to time, because everytime I do, I always relive some fond memories and look out into the distance at my dreams and bask in the moment and remain in awe. There are some nice curvy walkways, a good number of benches, trashcans for disposal of trash, beautiful landscaping and nearby astounding houses and neighborhoods to look down on as well. Nice stone work as well. The location is great and is near businesses of all kinds. Besides parking is limited, but still easily accessible and your better off walking to this park if you live nearby, it's worth the walk! Believe me! It's great!! Go here if you have not already. This park used to be oil fields for as long as I've lived in Fullerton (since 1967). Now the public has a great place to come and get the beat views in north OC. On a clear day you can see as far away as downtown L.A. to the north west, and Mt.San Jacinto to the east. The San Bernardino Mts are to the north, and especially beautiful after a winter storm. No restrooms, no playground. On a busy intersection (Bastanchury & State College) so don't bring your dog, cars zoom by very fast. read more

Great little hike for you and your pup. Awesome view of the city. Walked up a few years back on the fourth of July and saw some amazing fire works. Many bushes full of critters so keep your pup on a leash. Leads you right onto skyline and down Brea Blvd if you follow the loop. A few lookout/picture points with maps. On a clear day you can see Catalina...but the smog covers it most days. read more
