The hotel is tired. Clean rooms, nice amenities, comfortable beds and pillows, clean bathroom. The decor is from the 80s I think. Dark colors, corners and molding has seen better days...carpet looks worn out in the hallways. They have a bar and restaurant inside. The place is huge. Just needs a good refresh.

Attitude at the front desk. No handicap accessible restroom at the entrance area. Air conditioning not working correctly room never became cool. Toilet continuously flushed. No hot water at night. Toilet seat not ADA approved height. Floor at the shower was slippery. Bath products were not accessible from the shower seat. The closest exit door to the outside would not open.

Hi everyone, So... today I called Hilton Parsippany (several times...lost count/for an hour & a half over & over putting in every option) to cancel my reservation for Oct. 23-26 & could not reach them at all because every option that was given said, "sorry, this option is not available"....& hung up on me. I called every number affiliated with them and they couldn't help me because I didn't make my reservation through them + they were rude as hell. I emailed them/replied to my confirmation email and it came back as undeliverable. I called the main # to the Hilton and they kept transferring me to #'s that were out of service. I had friends call that same Hilton Parsippany & they said the same thing that I just did above. NOW, I have to have a friend in the area go there and see if he can cancel it for me. I live in San Francisco. THIS IS THE POOREST SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. I'm going to not only post screenshots of all the calls I made, but I will update on the status. Never should anyone have to deal with this. 0 STARS is more like it. Patheric.

Older rooms but very nice. The staff is so welcoming and helpful! I had a king suite and it was very spacious. The lobby bar is great and the on-site Ruth Chris is a plus! I enjoyed my stay!

Damage found on the back of instrument upon return. Manager has not acknowledged it, calling this "alleged" in response to negative review.

My experience at Hilton Parsippany was deeply unsettling. During my stay, a $5,000 harp was damaged in my hotel room while I was absent from the room. There were many of these in rooms throughout the hotel that weekend, for a conference. The room and the hotel itself were in disrepair, raising immediate concerns about the quality and safety of the environment. When I reported the damage to hotel management, instead of addressing the issue, they stalled and then dodged responsibility with deceit. After weeks of delays and evasion, their so-called "legal department" resorted to aggressive phone calls, attempting to intimidate me rather than resolve the issue. I filed a police report and lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Throughout the entire process, the hotel employed stalling tactics and provided misleading information to evade accountability. What made this situation even worse was how both Hilton Parsippany (specifically Mohamed Abdelrehim) and Hilton Corporate (Donna Balch of Hilton Executive Customer Relations) handled the aftermath. They falsely claimed to the Better Business Bureau that I had not responded to their attempts to contact me about an insurance claim. In reality, they ignored my repeated efforts to find a resolution, responding only with empty platitudes about safety and high standards in their replies to my online reviews. This hotel's behavior raises serious concerns about its integrity and respect for guest safety. If you're considering a stay at Hilton Parsippany, I strongly advise against it. They not only failed to take responsibility for the damage but made the situation even worse through their unprofessional and dishonest handling of the issue. If you care about your personal safety and receiving honest, professional treatment, avoid Hilton Parsippany at all costs. The complicity between the Hilton Parsippany and Hilton Corporate is deeply troubling and reflects a systemic failure to prioritize guest welfare. Update: eventually, months later, this incident was finally escalated to their insurance risk firm, who worked with me to take responsibility for the luthier repair bill. It remains unresolved as of 2025. In order for the luthier to receive appropriate payment (at a deeply discounted amount -- $1719.83) the hotel legal department asked for any reviews to be removed and insists I sign a broad indemnification of "Hilton Parsippany, HH FP Portfolio LLC, HHC TRS FP Portfolio LLC, Remington Parsippany Employers LLC, Hilton Franchise Holding LLC, and the Hotel Owners and their affiliated companies, its officers, partners, directors, agents, attorneys, employees, members, shareholders and subsidiary companies and, other persons, firms and corporations from all claims and demands, rights and causes of action of any kind the undersigned now has or hereafter may have on account of or in any way growing out of property loss which is known or unknown to me at the present time." While I appreciated the opportunity to work with a reasonable and responsible agent, I still was met with unacceptable and disrespectful options generated from the hotel's legal department. And, through the agent, the legal department denied the harassing phone calls from the hotel as originating from their department. So, someone from that hotel posed as their legal counsel to try to intimidate me, instead of honestly dealing with the damage to my property caused by one of their staff.

Ok, first of all, this place is enormous. So in fairness I can imagine it's a very tough place to keep clean. However, the whole place stank of mold and mildew, the wing our room was in (we switched to a different part of the hotel) reeked of xylene or some sort of toxic cleaner. There were portable dehumidifiers all over the place, as were those little noxious plug-in air fresheners all in attempt (I presume) to cover up the reek of flooding or water damage. The air vents in our room were disturbingly caked with either black dust buildup or possibly mold. Hopefully my whole family didn't contract Legionnaires' disease. There were areas that were pretty great, including a very nice lobby bar, so you can get drunk enough to forget the perilous health violations, but the stink...holy hell. Enclosed is their lovely wall art depicting jars of trucker urine. A nice touch.

This Hilton property has been here for more than thirty years. It is a testament to the style of hotels in the 80s. And who are we to judge that? It celebrates the theme of local pharma companies. The conference rooms are all named for elements. The hotel has everything you need. There is a big indoor pool. There is an adorable lobby bar with indoor fire pits along with a market cafe. The gym is very nice with ample equipment and space. The rooms are comfortable. We had a regular room with a big king size bed. It was so comfy! We had a lot of room to spread out and leave our bags out. The bathroom was standard with a nice walk in shower. The parking was ample. We parked right near the front door on a Sunday night at 8pm. The star of the show is the Ruth's Chris restaurant here. They offer nightly happy hour. It's the best deal in town!

    Fire
    Kristen C.

Multiple issues with this hotel. There was a fire right outside of the hotel which was not their fault. However we did not hear the fire alarm going off while we were sleeping. My friend had to call us to wake up to evacuate the building. The closest exit sign was ripped down and we had to exit on the side where the fire was. There are no fire alarms in the rooms just on the way other end of the hallway. Fire department said there should be fire alarms in every room. After the fire was put out the electricity remained off even after we left at 3:00pm. We are suppose to get a refund for the night but no one has called us back. Also these hotel smells like mold, toilets do not flush properly, and the shower does not drain.

Hair on the sheets and pillows.

The rooms were so cold that my guests had to wear their jackets the entire time. Their solution was to use several small space heaters throughout which didn't do anything to warm up the rooms and only managed to continuously trip the circuits and shut out the lights. Also, do not use their in house catering. I wish I knew the name of the caterer they used because they would deserve a review of their own. The penne vodka was so spiciy you could not eat it. Normally the pasta would be one of the first things to go so you know it was really bad - it was barely touched. How do you screw up the pasta? Thankfully I had ordered a couple of extra trays of food because there would not have been enough food otherwise. Not sure how they calculate their food portions or maybe Mike just needs to review my food order with the caterer to see what was ordered vs what was delivered. Because definitely something is off. No complaints about the staff. They just couldn't overcompensate for the bad experience.

The people at the desk weren't the friendliest. In fact, they seemed less than enthused about me being there. Once the check-in process was complete, I went up to my room. It seemed nice at first, but upon entry it felt like a sauna! I went out and got dinner and figured fit just needed time to cool down since it was much hotter than usual. After coming back, I noticed the temperature hadn't changed. I alerted the desk upon on my way to work out to let them know. When I got done from working out, I noticed it still hadn't changed so I asked them again and then sent someone up. He deconstructed the unit and gave me the "VIP" temperature, which unlocks it to go past 65. He said he put it at 60 and said it'll cool down in 10 mins. Now, while he was giving his spiel, he specifically said something about the hot water being off. I asked if that meant I wouldn't have hot water for my shower and he said no because they were separate units. I beg to differ. Once he left, I hopped in the shower and surprise surprise, no hot water. It wasn't even lukewarm. Not to mention, it never cooled down and I woke up sweating. I alerted them in the morning what went on and asked if I could switch rooms. The attendant said she'd award me 5,000 points for my trouble and gave me a new room. The first thing I did was check the shower to make sure the water was hot, and it was. I noticed the air felt the same as it did in my other room so I let them know on my way to breakfast. I came back and saw it hadn't changed. I told them again on my way to workout. Came back and same thing. When I went back, the attendant said the repairman closed out the ticket but she could send him back. The man came back to the room and you could tell he was pissed to be there. His tone was dismissive and after explaining what happened he said, "we fixed everything. You need to sit here for a while and you'll see." Oh ok, pal. I guess I'm a child now. I said thanks and he left. While the new room eventually got cooler, it was the principal and tone behind the matter. I wouldn't be raising a fuss if there wasn't merit behind my concern. If you're ok with mediocre service, this is the hotel for you. I won't be back. Update: 3/19/2026- I never got the points that they said they'd give me.

Since then, we've worked with Michael on planning our wedding and he was so great to work with. He was easy to communicate with, super energetic and full of positive energy throughout the planning, and very informative. We wanted our dogs in the ceremony a lower guest minimum for fear that less people at the time would attend due to covid and Michael quickly accommodated our requests, no questions asked! Our wedding was 10/14/23 and Farrell was our maitre'd. After getting home, my matron of honor, brother in law and mom had nothing but AMAZING things to say about Farrell. According to my mom, Farrell saw my grandpa had trouble with his boutonniere and she, without us asking, started helping him and all the other groomsmen clip them on. She worked with my husband on getting a little last-minute seating mishap resolved (we had some unplanned guests who had initially rsvp'd no and showed up). She was so good with children as our flower girl and flower boy/ring bearer were 4 and 7 and she interacted with them and helped show them what to do at the ceremony. Our day of coordinator unfortunately had an emergency and was not there part of the wedding but Farrell really took over and checked in on us constantly and took charge of the day. My matron of honor said Farrell was so nice and reliable and amazing at her job. Going back to the wedding, our guests couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the venue was, down to the chandeliers in the ballroom. Our wedding was unfortunately outdoors but Birchwood was so accommodating with allowing us to use the Grand Ballroom for the ceremony as the reception was already set up elsewhere. We upgraded the cocktail hour to deluxe and with both my husband and I being from Chinese families with high expectations in regards to seafood, the lobster tails were gone instantly as our guests loved them so much. People raved about how good the cocktail hour was, including the carving station and shrimp scampi station. The ice sculpture was a beautiful and elegant touch. All in all, we and our guests had nothing but an amazing time at Birchwood. We have nothing but positive experiences through our 2 years of wedding planning. Thank you Michael and Farrell and Birchwood Manor for helping us plan our wedding and make our wedding day visions really come to life!
