Disastrous & disappointing. I travel for work, especially pre-COVID. Out of dozens of hotel experiences, The Watt was one of the worst stays. I don't recommend this hotel if you're spending more than $120 at all. I have points & deals on Hotel Tonight so it was affordable. I had to stay two nights due to my partner having covid and I wanted to not get infected by sharing space during evenings while doing care support. The check-in was horrendous with rude and inattentive front desk staff who really wouldn't care if you stayed there at all. No greeting, no instructions on the hotel or if I've stayed there before. He couldn't be bothered and was on his cellphone as I waited for him to do his job. Also, In fact, when I extended my stay they didn't update my keys, their phone is constantly busy, so I went down and they didn't even try to ask me what the issue was, identify the wrong doing or apologize. The lounge and lobby fit the Hilton Tapestry line, with gorgeous interiors and beautiful bar. That's where the quality ends. The roof deck does not reflect the photos but still a radiant view of nyc and rahway. The hallways smell musty and the rug/carpets are snagged. The rooms are not updated, have damages in the bathroom, stains, and scratches on furniture plus no curtains so get ready to get the traffic light in your dreams. The room is highly scented like old Avon cologne which is to say, not comforting but dizzying. There was no refrigerator out microwave in the room. The cleaning staff do a great job and the quality is not on them, the general maintenance of the rooms are dated circa 2008 and not brought up to par. I would book in jersey city or break for $200+ price and at least get a pool and great customer service with curtains and a cost proximity to nyc. Really what could easily be a 4 star stay is a 2 star stay. The breakfast lounge was their saving shining grace!! Yaz the server and the kitchen staff were wonderful, attentive, excellent, and deserve the stars. Breakfast options are limited, no cheese omelet or poached eggs just sunny and scrambled. The hotel worker cleaning rooms was amazing and kind. Everything else was either underwhelming or terrible. ** UPDATE: CHANGED to 1 star review. Additionally, I was incorrectly charged double when I already paid in hotel tonight app. I called the hotel directly who wasted my time for 40 minutes. The inept front desk woman gave me a faulty case confirmation number and didn't email me a receipt or confirmation of case number. Impeccably fraudulent and irresponsible. I had to file a formal case with Hotel Tonight app who were exactly the opposite of The Watt and resolved the matter swiftly. DO NOT STAY HERE. THE WATT WILL ATTEMPT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY.

Great experience at bar lounge. Food was great, our table ordered the bbq boneless wings, fries, flatbread pizza, Thai lettuce wraps, and cheese quesadilla. Temperature of food was excellent and everything came out with nice presentation. Went on an early evening of a weekday (Wed). We also had a few glasses of wine. Service and attentive staff - highly recommend!

Came to the bar only. The drinks were very good. It's a cozy place. They have live music on the weekends.

This is the first time a stayed at a Spark by Hilton property and found the property to be on-par with Hampton Inn's but with an emphasis on basics. While this property was a take-over and remodel of another brand, there is very little indication that this was not a completely refurbished property. The only hint I saw was in the elevator in which the back side is glass, so as the elevator rises you can see outside. The tell sign is that while every detail inside the property is clean as a whistle, the window in the elevator are not, a minor detail overlooked. My room, 515, was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Close to the single elevator, there were times when it took some time for it to arrive, most 5 floor hotels do have more than one elevator. There were plenty of outlets in the room and the bead was ultra-comfortable, but the chair at the desk while fitting with the décor, is not functional for someone to work at the desk. All the staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful. I had an early departure, so I did not have an opportunity to check out breakfast, but parking was complementary which is always a plus, even though it was not gated. I like Spark for a quick, convenient and affordable overnight stay, but for more than one night, there are other Hilton brands I'd prefer to stay with. You be the judge; I think you'll like it overall as I did!

Negatives are the smell in the elevator!! Lordie!! Bad pillows. And if you are elderly, have any knee/leg issues getting into that tub to shower is KILLER. Really bad. The water pressure also leaves a lot to be desired!

This will not, and should not, be graded on the same criteria and expectations as a Ritz-Carlton or Mandarin hotel. Understanding this, it still fails and should be avoided. I would not pay to stay here--ever. Cleanliness was the largest failure. The bathroom was not clean (see pictures) in any sense of the definition. The bathtub had a layer dirt caked in it. There was hair all over the tiles--if you look at the pics, I don't have curly hair. The toilet was dirty on the seat and around it. In the main room, there was a piece of tape stuck to the vanity top with yet another person's hair on it. This person's hair was only slightly curly. The next area of failure was the accommodations. Again, I do not expect luxury in any sense however I do not expect broken or filthy items in the room. The shower curtain (see pics) had holes throughout the middle of the curtain. A shower curtain retails for $4. This is a joke. The coffee machine was covered in a white film. The person at the front desk was very pleasant, however the hotel is completely mismanaged. Avoid.

The bed is a bit firm, but the room seems clean and well-maintained.Reading reviews from hotel sites, I was warned about the sharp right turn to get into the motel, but just check out the satellite view from Google first and you won't miss it. A great deal!

I parked the car in their free lot and did not move it for 3 days. Some spaces covered and some uncovered. They have carts but you will move your bags in and out. Everything is fine about this hotel and the prices reasonable. The front desk folks were fast, courteous, and efficient and gave me extra towels when I needed them right away to bring to the room no hassle, no wait. Just one night desk clerk snapped at me when I asked for towels because she said they don't do the laundry on Sunday, may run out, but she got them for me anyway with a bad attitude and sour face. The towels here were excellent quality. Beds/Pillows comfortable, but not like at a 5 star hotel. Room was clean and cleaned well. I interacted with housekeeping and they were nice. This location is with all the restaurants and shops of Westfield--an upscale area of NJ. You can walk out your door to eat and shop. I walked over and had breakfast at the Westfield Diner two times and dinner at the Thai restaurant next door to the Diner one time. All good places. The Diner gets you in and out quick. The free breakfast at this Best Western Hotel is small and not great--so plan on going to one the great bagel, coffee shops, and diners walking distance to the hotel. I went to the hotel free breakfast the first morning and not again--it's not the way to start your day properly. There is also a Trader Joe's walking distance and picked up a tuna sandwich there for lunch one of the days. I would definitely stay at this hotel again--I liked the whole area and all the services easy walking distance. If it was warmer and I had more free time I would have walked more around the area. There is a train that run in the back of the hotel so be on notice that it could be noisy in some back rooms. I was in the front and had no problem--but I sleep with earplugs if needed.

We did not have hotel reservations at all when we left Baltimore for this trip, which is not how I like to roll, but I was waiting for my refund until moments before we left. We drove all the way to East Rutherford, had dinner, saw Pantera and Metallica and THEN went to find a hotel room. Motel 6 and Super 8s are our go-to motels when we find ourselves in late night situations like this. The clerk in the office was mostly concerned that we understood that it was a SMOKING room. Oh, no problem, buddy. We smoke. Though I did not expect there to be a GIANT burn hole in the center of the comforter on the bed. Just throw that thing out. It cannot cost that much to pick up a new king size blanket somewhere. We don't use hotel bedding anyway. We bring our own comforters and pillows. After stripping the bed, the room was decent. It was not an accessible room, per se, as I could not use the bathtub, nor could I fit my chair through the bathroom door, but this has never stopped us before. The room was ENORMOUS. No table and chairs, no fridge, no microwave but I never had to fear backing up into furniture in the middle of the night, in the dark, on the way to the bathroom. The sink was located outside the bathroom, and did not drain. The bed was uncomfortable, and the air conditioner was not up to the task of cooling the room, but that's nothing a couple of cocktails couldn't fix. All I needed was a place to sleep after our daily all-day adventures, and a place to pee (I mentioned cocktails, right?). I seriously do not need a lot when it comes to motels/hotels and this place did the job. If you're high maintenance or picky, this place probably isn't for you. But I liked the NYC themed art, and the dark blue and sand color walls, and that I could park right outside our door. Some people can't handle MOTELS, and this is definitely a motel. Know thyself.
