I attended a private dinner in one of the main conference rooms were attentive and the food was yummy, I also attend different meeting rooms at the layout was good. This was just ok. There was nothing that stood out from the property or the people but I'll get to that later. I got here on Wednesday and checked in late in the afternoon. The people at the desk weren't the friendliest. In fact, they seemed less than enthused about me being there. Once the check-in process was complete, I went up to my room. It seemed nice at first, but upon entry it felt like a sauna! I went out and got dinner and figured fit just needed time to cool down since it was much hotter than usual. After coming back, I noticed the temperature hadn't changed. I alerted the desk upon on my way to work out to let them know. When I got done from working out, I noticed it still hadn't changed so I asked them again and then sent someone up. He deconstructed the unit and gave me the "VIP" temperature, which unlocks it to go past 65. He said he put it at 60 and said it'll cool down in 10 mins. Now, while he was giving his spiel, he specifically said something about the hot water being off. I asked if that meant I wouldn't have hot water for my shower and he said no because they were separate units. I beg to differ. Once he left, I hopped in the shower and surprise surprise, no hot water. It wasn't even lukewarm. Not to mention, it never cooled down and I woke up sweating. I alerted them in the morning what went on and asked if I could switch rooms. The attendant said she'd award me 5,000 points for my trouble and gave me a new room. The first thing I did was check the shower to make sure the water was hot, and it was. I noticed the air felt the same as it did in my other room so I let them know on my way to breakfast. I came back and saw it hadn't changed. I told them again on my way to workout. Came back and same thing. When I went back, the attendant said the repairman closed out the ticket but she could send him back. The man came back to the room and you could tell he was pissed to be there. His tone was dismissive and after explaining what happened he said, "we fixed everything. You need to sit here for a while and you'll see." Oh ok, pal. I guess I'm a child now. I said thanks and he left. While the new room eventually got cooler, it was the principal and tone behind the matter. I wouldn't be raising a fuss if there wasn't merit behind my concern. If you're ok with mediocre service, this is the hotel for you. I won't be back. Update: 3/19/2026- I never got the points that they said they'd give me. read more

The Hanover Marriott is not up to the standard of other Marriott properties and should be downgraded to a Four Points by Sheraton at best or Holiday Inn. It fails to deliver in cleanliness, noise, and customer service. I stayed here for a work meeting and was provided a room not fully cleaned with a complimentary water half drunk. The walls are very thin and I could hear yelling from one side and another's white noise machine running until 2:30 am. The hotel's open entryway rises up to the 4th floor carrying sound to rooms on the 2-4th floors whose hallway overlooks the lobby, making you feel like you are sitting in the middle of all the noise. Any items delivered by DoorDash or Instacart, etc are left by hotel staff on a long table across the front desk creating an opportunity for food to be tampered with and other deliveries stolen, not to mention a cluttered eyesore in the lobby. Room furnishings are dated and staff is not always pleasant. Upon checking out the front desk person greeted me non-verbally by just pointing to the counter with his back turned to me signaling he'd help me at that desk rather than saying "good morning, are you checking out". I won't be staying here again for any work trips. This hotel needs much improvement before I'd ever consider this a standard Marriott property. read more

Visited September 20, 2025 for a Battlestar Galactica Convention. The areas for the Convention were clean. The restaurant/bar seemed nice. Would've liked to get something to eat there except on the weekends it was buffet only (at least in the AM). The hall for the panels was a good size. The biggest issue was that in the restroom, a few of the stalls had bathrooms where the door had issues. read more

This place is in the middle of no where and was cheap to stay at. Walking distance there is nothing. This place is very business like. The bathroom near the lobby is a far walk. The gym was nothing more than cardio machines and a small corner for free weights. The lobby was nice however, late one night the guy told my husband that the store was closed. He just wanted some diet coke. The room was clean and spacious though. The view was non existent. Their is no lock box in room not that you would need it for the area you are in. But one morning when we had the do not disturb sign up, housekeeping came into our room anyways while we were all sleeping. The sink did not drain and front desk had to be called. You have to pay for parking in the lot, which is weird. Our stay there was nice and all but I would not come back. We only stayed at this location because we were coming into town for a birthday and this was close to the area. read more

I come to Morristown on a regular basis to train at CAE, the rooms are nice and it's convenient for the school, however they have some type of new contract with a tow truck operator where you must scan a QR code and fill out a bunch of details about your stay and give them a credit card to pay the paring in advance or someone will come in and tow your car. This hotel has now gone from a 3 star hotel to a two star hotel that even though I am a loyal Bonvoy member, I will never return here. I expect something like this to happen at a Motel 6, not a Mariott property. read more

I stayed at this hotel this past weekend for events on Saturday and Sunday. My room was nice with a view of the parking lot which was fine. The hotel is off the local highway so nobody gets a view. I called ahead and requested extra pillows, and they made sure I had them in my room upon arrival. That was cool. I would have given them more stars but the bathroom on the lobby level by the ballrooms was not serviced in the evening. Half of the stalls were dirty. Plus, they didn't tell all guests who were keeping their car at the hotel about the parking permit. This information should be consistent. Nobody wants their car toed. At night, after the events, some of us were sitting in the lobby hanging out before returning to our rooms. I heard there were 4 weddings that were taking place at the same time. There were guests from other events who were also hanging out in the lobby who were much louder than us. I wish they would have asked them lower their voices. There was a drunk guy on Sunday who was exceptionally loud but no one told him to calm down. Consistency is key. Make sure they treat all of the guests the same way. Overall, the hotel was nice except for a few things. read more

Fast check in with friendly front desk staff. I used the Marriott app to select and arrival time and pre-check in and when I advised I did a mobile checkin, he was able to get my room key promptly. I appreciated I was able to get into my room a couple of hours before the usual check in time. The room itself was fine. Nothing amazing but clean and had plenty of plugs, as well as USB ports for phone/watch charging, and was quiet. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were good as well. I have really come to like this hotel! As I am working in Jersey twice a month , it has become my home away from home! Right now it's so pretty as they have all the Fall flowers planted in the grounds! The staff are so nice and a participant thank you so Mercy who works in the concierge lounge in the evenings. She is so lovely and remembered that last visit I was flying cross coast to see my daughter in College and asked how she was! She is a lovely person and so helpful! And speaking of the lounge - it's great! Lots of healthy breakfast choices and raw veggies, small snacks and hummus for the evening! Here for a 3 day stay to attend #LuciConNJ (the Netflix show Lucifer). The common areas are clean and fairly standard, except for the immense glass light fixture on the ceiling when you walk in. Very cool. The meeting rooms seem--well--like meeting rooms. Fairly plain, but clean and unobtrusive. The hotel restaurant/bar "The Auld Shebean" is cute and cozy. We were able to take our drinks out into the lobby, since it was also PACKED with Lucifans. Easily ordered DoorDash to the hotel at 8 PM, which was definitely a bonus!! We have a double on the 3rd floor. The room is well-appointed with clean tile floors, a huge smart tv, a safe, a pod coffee maker (have not seen coffee, but it may be hiding), and a small fridge. (No microwave?). A built-in desk, ergonomic desk chair, comfy sitting chair, and small table round out the room. There is a full length mirror on the wall, which seems fairly rare for hotel rooms. The alarm clock has usb plugs, and there are reading lights on the headboards. One set of small drawers and a closet are available. The bathroom is stocked with "This Works" products (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to the wall, as well as bars of soap) that smell divine. Shower has glass doors and an adjustable rainfall shower head with separate sprayer. Fancy. The beds are SO comfortable, and come with 4 pillows each of varying firmness. Sheets are crisp cotton, and the blankets are both cool and warm, if that makes sense. Overall, it is a nice hotel at a decent price for the area. read more

Have stayed here many times over the last 25+ years. I was shocked when pulling into the parking lot to find QR codes posted on all of the light poles requiring you to pay to park. This is a suburban Marriot not in a city where there isn't a parking lot and completed isolated where no one is dropping off their car and going elsewhere. I refused to pay and let the front desk know this was not stated at the time I booked the reservation at which point they waived parking however I will never stay here again. There is a great Hilton/Hampton across Route 10 that hasn't resorted to these measures outside of their annual car show which is understandable as its a private event. I believe a new ownership group took over the property within the last couple of years but due to the parking I will avoid any Marriot they have an ownership stake in.... read more

Ehh. I really don't think it's worth the high price tag. Room was a bit outdated. There wasn't a fan in the bathroom and the water took forever to get hot! Bed wasn't overly comfortable, but I dealt with it. The TV states you can order room service, providing menus and all... but when I inquired about room service, I was informed there isn't room service available. Soda from the vending machines were over 4 months expired and the creamer in the room was all curdled. You're able to get into your room via the app but 4/5 of the time it failed. There's only one main restaurant and it doesn't open until later in the afternoon. So...you cannot get a midday drink or even lunch. The pool is still currently closed due to Covid. The employees I did interact with were friendly. The mini store to the left of the front desk is very overpriced. Ramen was $4.00. Talk about markup. I wouldn't stay here again. read more

Call me old fashioned, and maybe even a little crazy, but! ..... Hear me out. Remember when you would give your business and places showed appreciation for doing so. Well at the Hanover Marriott this is not the case. When booking my room on app, I selected parking because like so many, I'll be arriving with my own transportation. Now, it's not unheard of to pay for parking. However, paid for parking is typically in extremely populated areas with limited parking. Here at the Hanover, you will arrive to an industrial like park tucked away, with a parking lot large enough to host a circus, bears, elephants and bedazzled show ponies by the dozens. This begs the question,why charge for parking? Answer, extortion and or ungrateful guest relations with a side order of unjustified greed. The worse part is, you can not even place the parking on the room, oh no no, you have to scan a QR code (which is plastered like wall paper, all about the lot and hotel). Remember your plate number, find your bank card and enter your information, and bam! 17.50 later, after taxes and administration processor fees , you are good to go. Someone please explain, no justify this to me so I maybe can give a better rating. Before you comment google earth this mess and from there let me know your thoughts! read more

Had to stay overnight with my son for his hockey tournament. When we checked in, they put us on the 3rd floor by the elevator with an opening overlooking lobby. We came back in the evening with one desire to crash and sleep. Wake up call was at 5am for the next day of hockey. Hotel was extremely busy. Lobby was full. Only at night when I called the front desk to complain about noise, they told me there were 3 weddings going on. No one said a word when we were checking in. Hotel staff was extremely dismissive, disrespectful snd rude. They knew about the venue and put us in the worst room possible! Had I known, I'd switch the hotels. They just told me the wedding was going till 2am and there is nothing they can do. This was not a private venue, so I'd think the hotel should obey the noise ordinance that is between 10pm and 7am. They clearly were in the violation of noise ordinance policies! The extreme noise from the lobby, outside and the hall was intensifying deeper into the night. There were hundreds of people there. Once again front desk just asked "don't you know it's popular Indian wedding venue?!" No, I had no clue, not from the area. And 2 questions: - why did hotel still take reservations for those outside the wedding party? - why didn't the Management reserve a few rooms further away from the lobby for the guests like us? The only obvious answers are: - absolute negligence - complete stupidity and lack of common sense. We ended up having 2 hours of sleep. The screaming and partying didn't stop till 3 am. Had to call the police and file a report. Have recordings of mayhem at 2am. Next step is connecting with Marriott Corporate, then... we shall see. Very upsetting! Terrible stay, sleepless night and horrible customer service! My son was moving in slow motion next day. Worst hockey I've seen from him. I had to drive 4 hours next day. Barely made it home! I would consider it more high end but worth it based on the accommodations & the services provided. All staff were wonderful. I came in on a whim after leaving a very dirty & bad hotel in the area so I was desperate but I didn't feel like they took advantage of me at all. I was traveling alone for a conference so I felt safe but not smothered. Restaurant on the property was great. Delicious food. A bit dark but I think that was the ambiance. Restaurant Staff were friendly & very accommodating. Very clean hotel. Plenty of towels, great shower. No noise even tho there were events happening throughout the weekend & great view of the patio. Unfortunately they are hindered by an incompetent, lazy and ineffective manger (Bin Lai) he is weak and avoids trying to help solve customer problems, pushes the girls out to do what he doesn't have the spine to do and he refuses to speak with customers. I stayed at the Hanover Marriott while traveling to Pennsylvania. Sure, it's not that far away from my house, but did save me from having to wake up at 5:30am to get on the road. From what I gathered, this location has been partially renovated. Some of the rooms, such as the one I was assigned which is shown in the photos I've included were beautifully renovated with solid floors, new bathrooms, updated lighting, and contemporary decor- while others retain the tired 10-year old Marriott design. There doesn't seem to be a mechanism to request an updated room, so probably have to just get there early or give them a call to request one. The hotel has much of what you would expect from a Marriott- a full service restaurant, pool (sans hot tub, they seem to have filled in), and a nice exterior area. Only pet peeve was how they charge for parking. $15 to park in their lot is steep considering you're in suburbia and none of the other hotels in the area charge. read more

Lovely stay & hospitality. I must say, it's quite shocking seeing some of these negative reviews, it's almost as if they are more self-inflicted problems than the fault of the property. Upon arrival I was wonderfully greeted by staff and made to feel very welcome within the establishment. The completed renovations are splendid and professionally done. The staff at the restaurant is pleasant and got us everything we needed with excellent service throughout the entirety of our dinner. There was a convention going on, many of them seemed lost and were causing quite the ruckus, one near us was taking up a table of about 10 people and only had a few there, which delayed our seating. He never got more than a few individuals to join him, so the staff seemed flustered at this that they had to make us wait longer than needed. They handled the quite uncomfortable situation marvelously. Overall, a great experience and I will be returning as I'm a lifetime Bonvoy Titanium Elite Member. read more

Be aware of their check-in policy! I had a reservation that was non-refundable (my fault), and my plans changed, so I couldn't make the reservation. They would not give me my money back, and they refused to give me any credit for the night, because I never checked in! Easy no fuss 2 night stay- we were here for a wedding at the hotel and enjoyed being the same location as the celebration. I did not use any of the amenities (restaurant, bar, patio, gym etc) but for the wedding they did utilize a large portion of the venue from hot breakfast on the 3rd floor conference room to the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception on the first floor between the 2 ballrooms and the hallways. I was super impressed at the service with the entire wedding- we had breakfast, lunch and dinner all as part of the wedding and they did amazing at handling the "longer than usual" wedding day events. The rooms were standard and had everything we needed including a mini fridge for leftovers and bottled water. The only negative thing here is the $15 parking per day. Bleh. read more

3-Star prices for 2-star rooms and 1-star service We're Bonvoy members because we like Westins. According to https://help.marriott.com, the Marriott brand and the Westin brand are both considered "Premium" Bonvoy properties. As such we expected a similar level of service to what we've received staying at Westins. Unfortunately this particular Marriott is a stunning disappointment. We arrived at the property for check-in to find there was no valet parking. They charge a parking fee of $15.00US, which they charged by default, even if you have no vehicle there. Several of our friends noticed that they had been charged only when they got home and received the e-folio. They had to call back and get the charges removed. In addition, there was no staff at all to assist with baggage. Everyone had to haul their own. There was an exciting scavenger hunt to find a luggage cart whenever you needed one. The rooms are clean and present well. I appreciate that there are walk-in showers instead of tubs. I question the choice to use a vinyl composite flooring instead of carpet. The hard surface makes the room noisy, the floor cold, and has a very "Super 8" feel to it. As with the Westins, the beds are quite comfortable. We originally intended a 7 night stay, but due to reservation issues we opted to cut back to 5 nights. I've called the property a dozen times over the course of 14 months to reserve a hospitality suite for the week. The sales manager here is either incompetent, lazy or both. In that 14 month window she was unable to fulfill even this exceedingly basic request. She ignored every single one of Marriott's 5 core values and ruined a trip we've been planning for three years. Our first experience with the on-site dining elicited a mixed reaction. The food was better than expected, and our server was extremely accommodating. We had a table that ended up being 12 people (started with 6, expanded as additional people arrived). Some left and others took their spots. All told we were there about 2-1/2 hours. The hostess was quite cranky, apparently it was inconvenient for her that we were still buying drinks and chatting. She pointed out a few times that we couldn't stay long, as she had another group coming in. That struck us as odd, as she'd told us earlier that they don't take reservations. Even our server was getting annoyed with her, probably afraid she was ruining his tips. Anyway, breakfast service is short, closing by 9:30, and the staff member in charge of the lobby coffee was quite anxious to shut off the coffee machine Friday morning, even though several of us were gathered in the lobby chatting and...wait for it...drinking coffee. Apparently, she was afraid the guests would avail themselves of...guest amenities? There was no coffee service at all on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Hotel tip: Anyone staying at a property Marriott considers "Premium" shouldn't have to DoorDash coffee from Starbucks. The convention space is nice. It's smaller than most I've been to, and really too small for the convention we were attending. That said, it's clean, spacious and has convenient restrooms. I've seen some run-down convention spaces over the years, so I know what to look for. This place is in really good shape. The verdict is: I wouldn't consider staying here again. I can see that the sign on the marquee says Marriott, but it's really just a Days Inn with delusions of grandeur. This property does the minimum it needs to in order to get by, which makes it a black mark on Marriot's otherwise excellent reputation. read more

I was surprised at the low reviews for the Hanover Marriott, but understand that it did go through some remodeling in the last year. I recently stayed here for one night for business and found it to be a great hotel for the time I was there. The entire lobby has been renovated (heard from someone who had stayed there during renovation), and is contemporary and tasteful. The front desk was very helpful and nice. There is a self-serve winebar in their lobby/lounge area, which I thought was interesting. There's plenty of nice, comfortable seating in the entry area, so that you're comfortable if you're meeting someone, and there's free Wifi in the lobby. Not so for the rest of the hotel where you have to pay $13/24 hours. I still think it's ridiculous when hotels do that. My room was on the 5th floor and it was clean and comfortable. For the ladies, they only have bar soap, so if you like to use a puff and liquid soap, bring your own. They offer free cable with HBO as a premium channel on their LCD TV. There are outlets by the bed, which I love so you can charge your phones right next to you. My room lacked an ironing board, but had an iron. I was just too lazy to call for an iron. The bathroom was clean, comes with plenty of towels. There's plenty of spaced, with a sitting chair near the window. So if you want to do some yoga/stretching in there, you have the space for it. The fitness center on the first floor is fairly sized. and accessible 24/7 with your room key. I think there are indoor and outdoor pools, but since it was like 20 degrees outside, I didn't bother checking. 5 treadmills with individual TV, a couple of ellipticals and stationary bikes. Weights, balls for situps, and a couple of mats for stretching. It was also stocked with towels, a water dispenser and fruit. At $150/night, it was a pleasant hotel for a business trip. read more

Can't Complain This would be 4 stars, but this is full service Marriott and this hotel could use room updates. The bathrooms in the rooms need work. We have stayed here a few times and it's been very good every time. The rooms are spacious and very clean. They even have a great Irish pub off the lobby that serves decent food and has lots of great beers. You could easily hang out there all night. Attended a formal event here this past weekend. We were on a quiet floor (6) in a room near the elevator & our entire bathroom smelled of mildew - yuck! I brought it to the attention of the hotel and their response was they'd let the engineer know. No apology, no offer for another room (although there was vacancy). Not staying here again. read more

Got a room for my parents and got them Grubhub restaurant quality food (because of Covaid). I think they were the only guests checked in. The rooms are definitely in need of a make over yesterday. I was a little surprised it was a full service Marriott. It's outdated by ten years. And it was clean but it wasn't as if someone took the extra time to do it right especially with the virus. On a positive note the reception staff was probably one of the best if not the best I have ever encountered in all my prior traveling days. I believe her name was Christina. She was extremely pleasant and did everything she could to make sure my parents anniversary went well. Without a doubt she made the stay a 5-star stay in a 3-star hotel. If it wasn't for her, I'd probably want a refund. But when you get exceptional service like that it is hard to even give the truth about the hotel itself. Good job Christina!! read more

I write this review not just as a hotel guest, but also as a convention host. I've hosted two weekend events here (2012 and 2013) and have had nothing short of an amazing success, a success which I owe greatly in part to the Hanover Marriott. The staff have been nothing short of amazing across the board. The event coordinators (Danielle and Athena) have been immaculate, well organized and attentive to our planning and requests. The AV/tech team (Bo & company) have been nothing short of outstanding, thoroughly professional and quick to respond when we've needed assistance. No matter what our need, no matter the request, they were quick and easy to accomodate them and work to help fulfil our needs. Seriously. I am nothing but ecstatic at the level of professionalism, courtesy and detail in which the staff of the Hanover Marriott has handled our events. Everything about this hotel is just "yes". There is not *ONE* thing that's really made me go "Y'know, I love the Hanover Marriott, but..." I'm that happy with them. As for the rooms? Each year, I've had roughly half a dozen rooms under my name, and each room has been well kept, beautiful and (mostly importantly) comfortable. They're comfortable, and the beds come with more pillows than I really know what to do with (read: pillow fort... PILLOW FORTS EVERYWHERE!). They're spacious, well kept and have plenty of AV plugs to allow guests to connect their laptops/game systems to the TVs if needed. A steady erosion of services and helpful staff. Less and less they are willing to do to help

I have stayed at the Hanover Marriott quite a few times and never have a problem with my stay. The lobby of the hotel is nice but I feel as though they are always renovating and never finished. The rooms are clean and updated but they do not reflect the latest updates from Marriott. My bedding wasn't the new fluffy mattress or comforter which would be okay if it was a Courtyard. For $300 night I would expect more updated bedding. I was surprised to see the rooms have the new mobile key feature which was cool. I loved that I was able to check in on my phone, access the key and not have to deal with the front desk. Marriott def did a good job on making it convenient. This location has meeting rooms on the first and third floor so it can accommodate breakout sessions if you want to hold a conference. Just beware that one of the larger rooms must of had a leak or water damage at some point leaving a very mildew like smell. Not exactly what you want to be sniffing all day while having to listen to presentations. The parking lot is large and finding a space is never an issue nor do you have to worry about getting one of the last creepy spots in the back of the hotel if you check in late. The hotel also has a restaurant onsite which is great bc there aren't any restaurants in walking distance or close by. You have to drive a few miles if you want to get something to eat elsewhere. For being the premium hotel in the area I would expect a little more. With the exception of the mobile key access and the onsite restaurant this location is no different than the Courtyard located on Rt 46. read more

Stayed here on business... Service (5): Staff was extremely friendly. Front desk staff was great. Concierge Lounge staff (Claudia) very friendly and professional. The flavored seltzer water was absolutely delicious! Sadly it was only there on Tuesday, none on Wednesday. The shuttle service was decent. I was able to get a ride over to Ruth Chris' across the highway and be picked up in a reasonable amount of time once I finished my meal. Cleanliness (4): Overall my room was clean; not spotless, but clean. I can't stand hair (that's not mine) in the bathroom. Gross! Hotel staff could roam the halls more often. Both nights there were food trays in the halls around 4 pm and those same trays still sat there until the morning (not a pleasant sight). Appearance (4): Although the hotel is older, it's apparent that they have made an effort to remodel the inside; especially the lobby. The rooms were fairly updated, not bad. Overall (4): My bed slept well. The food in Seeds (restaurant in lobby) was mediocre at best. The gym was updated and met my needs, which was a plus. The Marriott is really a great place to come after work or to meet up with some friends. The bar area is really cozy and vintage. A great space and environment to get to know someone on an intimate level. I love the setup and patio outside as well. They have cute lounge chairs and even a little fire pit. I would definitely recommend this place to come for happy hour and in the evening. read more

After experiencing more conventions at different locations, I have to say that this isn't the best place to have one with the amount of guests that this convention attracts. It's not big enough to accommodate all the people and eventually you start to feel like a stuffed sausage. The place is great but it's suitable for smaller conventions. The vendor area is small. The photo area is smaller and it makes everything seem like endless amount of hours. The only positive is the hall size with all the seats. read more
