1 Star Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable. There was no hot water, several outlets did not work, and the room was extremely dirty. The floors were wet and sticky, and there was hair all over the bathtub and bathroom floor. The room also had a terrible smell, and there was paint peeling from the walls. This wasn't simply an older or dated room--it appeared that basic cleaning and maintenance had been neglected. Having a clean room, working electricity, and hot water are reasonable expectations when paying for a hotel stay. I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience. Management seriously needs to address the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall condition of the rooms before expecting guests to stay here. read more

I stayed here for two nights while on a work trip. My company booked the hotel and paid for the accommodations, which appealed to me since that meant I didn't have to track on an expense report. I arrived a little early, about 1:30pm and went to the counter. I was told they did not have any rooms available yet and they suggested I return about 3pm. When I returned, I was asked if I wanted a room on the ground floor, to which I replied that it did not matter. There wasn't any further conversation but I was then given keys to a room on the third floor. I did not attempt to use a digital key on this visit. This Hampton Inn appears to be physically connected to another Hilton property. After a quick look online, it appears the "Hilton" portion of the property is a level or two above the Hampton class of properties. Therefore, prices at the Hilton property are more expensive than those at the Hampton property. I think I must have been in an older section of the Hampton hotel. My room did not have a refrigerator and there were definite signs of major wear even though there appear to be attempts to make improvements. I honestly cannot remember the last time I stayed in any hotel that did not have a small refrigerator in the room. I ended up throwing out my leftover pizza because I could not keep it cold. The bathroom had significant signs of wear including rust on the ceiling and paint was peeling in several areas. The frame of the bathroom door was also rusting. Most of the USB ports and outlets on the furniture/lamps were too worn and did not charge my phone or computer. I plugged my computer directly in the wall to charge it and I plugged my phone into the outlet by the bed to get it to charge. On the second night I wanted to have some cold soda and a water for in the morning. I went to the ice machine on the third floor, it did not work. I went to the ice machine on the second floor, it did not work. I went to the ice machine on the ground floor and it worked. I guess third time is a charm. I thought the breakfast was good for a hotel. Both days they had a nice selection of options: Waffles, oatmeal, a potato option, bread, bagels, English muffins, meat (one day patty sausage, one day sliced link sausage), eggs (one day flat muffin style egg, meat, cheese, one day omelet style egg and cheese). I made a bagel breakfast sandwich each day before heading off to work which hit the spot. I also purchased a Coke from the lobby. I was surprised to find out it was $5.00. I stay at Hilton properties every time I book a hotel that one is available. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it. I am sure there are better options. read more

While we all know there is a difference between a Hampton and Hilton. Some people feel the need to stay a fancy hotel but sometimes, you do not get a choice. While the extras might be more abundant at other places. We stayed at the Hampton after being trapped in a blizzard in New York. We walked in and we were greeted by a excellent you man behind the counter, Guillermo was his name and he made our stay a great experience. The lobby of the Hampton was clean and inviting and the gathering area and snack room nearby. The room was adequate for our needs, including desk, microwave and refrigerator., the minimum. Little did we know that our stay was about to be extended, courtesy of Hernado which left 2 feet of snow overnight. When we received the notification of our flight being canceled, Guillermo was able to help us get a little larger room and extend our stay. He also was the person that helped with all hotel duties and even was the person who brought up extra towels. Since the Hampton shares the property with the adjoining Hilton, the Hilton pool, gym and restaurants are all available for Hampton guests. This is a budget friendly hotel that still provides a clean, quiet and comfortable stay at a reasonable price. read more

The worst hotel experience I've ever had. The customer service was extremely poor, and basic amenities were not functioning properly. The water heater didn't work in the evening, the entire stay, so there was no hot water for a shower. There was also no room service done despite of my complaint, and even the bath towels had an unpleasant smell. This was by far the worst experience I've had at a Hilton property. When I arrived at the hotel at 1245 PM and asked if my room might be ready, the gentleman at the front desk said yes it was already clean and ready, but if I wanted to check in I'd have to pay an extra $50 for "early check in" before 4 PM. I questioned this fee since the room was already clean, if I hadn't requested that a room be ready when I arrived why would I be charged extra? He insisted this was the hotel's policy, even though I found out later that several team mates who arrived earlier and later than I did were NOT charged extra. When I questioned another front desk person about this attempted predatory charge, they just said "sorry". We had stayed here just two days earlier with no issues, but this time, a rude and unprofessional front desk woman unfairly accused us of causing a problem simply because our autistic child didn't have shoes on at check-in. Instead of showing any understanding or compassion, she escalated the situation by calling the police on us -- even though we did absolutely nothing wrong. To make things worse, she contacted corporate, and without investigating or even listening to our side, corporate backed her actions and refused to let us check into the room we had already paid for. This entire experience was humiliating, discriminatory, and traumatic for our child. Families with special needs deserve compassion -- not judgment and false accusations. I stayed here at the end of May for three days. I left an item an expensive item in my room and realized it after I got home which was five hours away and I called the hotel and I told them, nobody would go and check that night and nobody ever called me back and I followed up for three days or four days and I was told that they couldn't find anything. There was nothing there. However they also told me nobody rented the room in the three days after I left. Hilton told me that they would have someone contact me, no one has ever contacted me. Here I am two weeks later contacting them again and was told that someone, the general manager tried to call me. That's a lie. No one's called me. No one's left me a message. No one has done anything not even leave me an email so you know what this place sucks, Hilton sucks! Do not stay here, they will steal your stuff and then lie to you and then won't get back to you. This hotel had a really nice lobby. The room was beautiful and clean. The hot breakfast included in our rate was great also. My one issue is that the waffle irons are very popular and they're is always a line. Perhaps consider moving them to a location where the line wouldn't block the other breakfast items. They hotel is connected to another and they share the pools. The indoor pool was nice with plenty of space to walk around it but they need more chairs for parents. I highly recommend getting the app. I was able to check in the day before my arrival, pick my room and use the app as my door key. Extremely Convenient! Definitely recommend! read more

I am so utterly disgusted by my stay in Parsippany that I can't even believe that this property is within the Hilton portfolio. Came here with my daughter after a really long drive. From the moment I entered the elevator, I knew I was in the wrong place. The elevator is downtrodden and in serious need of a facelift. I got to the sixth floor and noticed an unpleasant aroma. Got to my room (with a sleeping child on my shoulder) and tried to relax. Unfortunately, I couldn't because there was no hot water, the restroom was filthy, the coffee machine didn't work, the TV had four working channels, the heater didn't work, and the A/C vent was broken and filthy - causing it to shoot out god-knows-what into the air. Additionally, the entire floor around the unit was soaked... So, I called the front desk. She offered me 5,000 points and told me I could change rooms. When I arrived to 1619, I was shocked to see the maintenance man there. He informed me that the only way to get warm water is to run the sink and tub at the same time. He was very apologetic, but it was clear he'd been working on the same issues in multiple rooms all night. By this point, it was after 11 pm and we just wanted to shower and sleep in a clean room. That wouldn't happen. We kept hearing loud, clanking noises coming from the restroom all night long. Additionally, the room was filthy - covered in hair and raisins from previous guests. At one point, I attempted to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work, AND, there was a hairy raisin on the phone's receiver which wound up on my face. My entire experience was horrific. It was also alarming because no hot water meant that employees weren't washing their hands properly - including the breakfast crew. I am so disappointed. This property is smartly packed into a business park and shares the lot with the Hilton Parsippany. Why is that smart? It's quiet, no traffic noise and you can walk around the business park and visit with the strolling ducks by the pond. First thing is first, I do not recommend staying here without a car. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and the Hilton with three restaurants, one of which is Ruth's Chris are an option but everything else - you'll be looking at a $10 Lyft, minimum each way. It's NJ, so walking is not possible beyond the business park. The hotel is modern with a sleek and big lobby. The lobby was quiet when I worked in it. There is a free business center in the lobby along with a pantry with ice cream, drinks and snacks. And a limited number of other sundries. Free internet is available to all guests with higher speed free to HHonors guests. Also, free parking! The rooms are clean and bright. I had a big room with two beds. The noise carried from the hallway but it was brief as others were just talking as they were opening the doors to their rooms. There is also a clean laundry room on floor two with two washers and two dryers. The staff were all really nice. If anything, they are busy at check in and out but bored during the slow day. They work hard and are very helpful. The fitness center is in the Hilton. It's easy to go there with your key. You do not need to speak to anyone at the Hilton. The rates are much better than Hilton, so why not give it a try? read more

After staying at the Hampton Inn Parsippany, I have pros and cons about this place. Pros: The lobby is beautiful, and free breakfast from 6am-10am. The grounds around the hotel are nice and well maintained; it's adjoined with the Hilton. Morris Plains is right down the road and has everything you need from restaurants to grocery shopping. Morristown is right down the road as well, but we didn't go so I can't comment on what they have. Cons: The rooms are in dire need of updating. The carpet, apparently, is new but there is no padding underneath and it is very thin carpet. The bathrooms are old, and the door jams have been painted over to cover any rust or mold. Housekeeping came multiple times while we were there but never did an adequate job; they would change the bedding with sheets that had stains on them. Also, in our room, gnats were in the bathroom. We would get rid of them but it seemed like they were multiplying and they would never go away. They'd land on all of our bathroom products, which is disgusting. Front desk was notified but did nothing. The laundry on the second floor took quarters, but only 1 washer and 1 dryer worked but you had to guess which one since the front desk doesn't know and there is no 'Out of Order' sign posted. Front desk is touch and go. A lot of them are extremely unfriendly, while some of them are nice. If we are ever in the area again, we probably wouldn't book a room here again. read more

I have stayed at this Hampton Inn several times and it continues to go down hill and this was my last stay at this location. I'll start with the good...it was located close to my office and the young lady who prepares and maintains breakfast is delightful...that's it. Now for the truth, my stay here was abysmal: The front desk staff was abrupt and not friendly. The room that I checked-in to via the app that said it was available and ready was not actually ready when I arrived at the hotel. Housekeeping did not clean the room everyday. In fact, one sheet on the bed was dirty when I checked-in. The cable is non-functioning most of the time. Wifi was non-existent. The HVAC in my room, did not work at all, so on the warmest February day in history here the room was warm and stuffy and the following cold day the room was freezing. The dressers, tv stand, and drawers in the room were old and dilapidated (one drawer wouldn't close all the way as it looked busted). They say these rooms were "remodeled" a year ago, but all I could tell was different was the carpet and one new chair. They painted the door trim in the bathroom, but they painted over rusted parts so it looks awful The tub does not drain. And one morning (about 430 to 500am ish) the FIRE ALARM went off and we had to evacuate the building. Why? Because the fire alarm system had faulty sensors...so those aren't even being maintained. I will not be staying here in the future on my next business trip. I hear there's a nicer Marriott around the corner and I will be staying there. If you want comfort, your room cleaned everyday, the HVAC to work, the cable to work, the wifi to work, and to not be awakened out of your sleep because of faulty fire alarm systems, stay elsewhere...you will be sorely disappointed here. PS...I complained about the wifi and cable the last time I was here and they said they would have their engineers fix it immediately and my next stay would be better...they LIED. We had a pleasant stay at this property. They honored my request for a room with a refrigerator and microwave away from the elevator and because it was our anniversary, even gave us a very nice upgraded room. Suite 1330 was very nice and roomy. The bathroom is a bit small but it suited our needs. I love the accessibility to the Hilton where my event was. The breakfast was pretty good and the breakfast area was comfortable. There was also a very warm fireplace in the lobby that was very cozy. I would definitely stay here again. read more

As I read the reviews as far back as 2015 I realized this hotel hasn't been working well for guests for years. When I stayed there recently I was appalled at the lack of professionalism with employees. I told the gm but she does nothing. Everything is old and outdated which is the fault of the owners . I booked a quick trip to Parsippany over the holiday weekend. We stayed here because the price was reasonable. I didn't know what to expect when I arrived. The hotel staff was EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating to all of our requests. The continental breakfast was good. The staff serving the food went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed even after breakfast was over. But the hotel needed some TLC! First the ceiling looked like it experienced water damage. There were spots that had been poorly repaired. The tub was outdated. Brown stuff fell from the faucet. My family was in another room that did not have a fridge, iron or ironing board. When i inquired about these things. I was told the fridge was not standard in all the rooms and I should have requested it. I have never stayed anywhere that fridges are not standard. They did bring those items to my family's room later the second day. There are two pools however they are in the adjoining hotel. Which was a long walk from the Hampton Inn especially if you are wet from swimming and you aren't supposed to take the towels from the pool area to your room. The pool was cold! The hot tub was not hot at all. Apparently, something was wrong with the heating system for the hot tub that was also only half full. The pool was a major letdown. My room had a funny smell like old carpet. The front desk attendant told me we couldn't be moved but he did come and "Febreze" the floor. It all raised an eyebrow. We stayed here over the weekend for the Chiller event. We arrived early and were greeted by a very friendly young woman at the front desk. Her name is Priyanka. She texted me once my room was cleaned and ready. Upon check-in we were given two waters as well as the free premium WiFi code. We were told the checkout and breakfast times as well. Seamless checkin as always. We have stayed here before for this event and we like it MUCH better than the adjoining Hilton which is noisy. The Hampton is so quiet and relaxing. We had plenty of towels in the room as well as blankets and pillows. Although we didn't have a fridge, we had our own cooler so no issues. There was an ice bucket in our room as well as all of the expected amenities. Our room was extremely clean and smelled clean too. Breakfast the next morning was great and orderly. It was crowded, as they had a sold out hotel, but they made sure all of the food was always plenty and restocked. I have already reserved my room for Chiller in October because I wanted to make sure we got a good room at this hotel. It's much better than the Hilton in my opinion. It's a smaller hotel so a LOT less walking to get to your rooms. Management was outstanding and we always felt like valued guests. read more

No insulation between rooms, I can clearly hear conversations and the guy next to me in the bathroom. Eek!! I'm here on business and didn't have a choice or I would have checked out by now. I was fortunate enough to attend a Barrister's Ball at the Hampton Inn. This is a great venue for it. First of all, the hotel is easy to get to. That may not sound notable but I have attended many events at other venue where we easily got lost. The ballroom itself is huge. We easily had more than 200 people attend with plenty of space. The cocktail hour happened outside in the ballroom in another spacious area where we had no problem mingling with the crowd. I have no complaints about the food or service but at the same time nothing stood out either. I will be back again next week and hope I am further impressed the second time around. read more

Overnight stay here at Hampton Inn. Friendly staff during check-in. Room was very spacious with comfortable beds. Only one drawback. There are no microwave or fridge in the room. Front desk has a fridge and will store your item and there is a microwave- self serve by the front desk where refreshments are sold. Coffee machine maker cord is short. Outlet most accessible and conducive was the nightstand between the beds. Hot breakfast served- scrambled eggs and Kielbasa was available for today. Make your own waffles, also pastries, and the continental breakfast was available too. Definitely, a hotel worth staying again and again if you are heading to NYC. I've stayed here a couple times while in town for business. It's fairly typical of a Hampton Inn with a surprisingly large room for the east coast. The room was clean including the bathroom. There is no shortage of hot water here, it gets scalding if you're not careful! The complimentary breakfast in the morning is your standard free breakfast fare. I have to give props to the desk clerk. When I called because my room was missing a room service menu, she immediately brought one up to me even though I was on the top floor. The room service itself was disappointing. My order took 30 minutes longer than promised (75 minutes total) and was only lukewarm when delivered. There was a minor billing option to resolve with two receipts emailed to me and each having a different room rate. Only a $10 difference so not a huge deal but that shouldn't happen. The hotel is connected to a Hilton and shares the same address so my driver dropped me at the wrong entrance. There is an inside walkway but I had to ask directions to locate it. On a side note, the Hilton has a nice bar and a Ruth's Chris if you are looking to get out. read more

On one of our trips to NY, this was where my dad decided to book our hotel. He wanted to save money by not staying on the island. As far as the hotel itself it was fine. Clean and very affordable. It just made driving into the city an extra hour each day. We did end up visiting atlantic city, which is in NJ, but this hotel was more west than south so it didn't help. I asked for a recommendation for dinner and I was told Ruth Chris in the attached Hilton. While that is a great place, I asked if there was anything else around. She just gave me a list.
