Air water fire and earth combine here to make the perfect stay! Hotel is new with all the amenities any group needs for a trip Upon arrival, we were greeted by Sean at the front desk who gave me my room keys and directed me to the elevator They have luggage carts which were really helpful since we have small companions The rise breakfast is a grab and go experience including an assortment of cereals, bagels, and yogurt. Not ideal but definitely better than what I've had at some other locations The pool is nice and you reserve a 1 hour slot for your group at which time the pool is your private experience. A hot tub would be nice addition Fire pits are small and on around 8pm nightly. The one closest to building shelters you from wind. Rooms- spacious studio which had a kitchen including stove top, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Laundry is available on site.

    Stained couch

You were warned! This place is next to the rail tracks...consider the horns. The walls are thin as we heard a dog down the hall barking and the one next door whimpering. The couch was itchy and dirty. We were told you could enter thru the back, but the gate was broken and we had to walk around the entire building. Did I mention there are only 6 spaces in front? I would not recommend you stay here unless you are desperate with a dog!

One of the biggest highlights of this stay was the convenience of the hotel's location. It's located near a great variety of restaurants, stores, and gas stations, making it easy to get around and access anything within a short distance. The room itself was spacious and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the amenities provided were excellent. All of these reasons added to the overall comfort of the stay. The front desk staff members were welcoming and friendly. I also appreciated the availability of snacks for purchase in the lobby. A bonus was the complimentary continental breakfast served daily from 6:00-10:00 AM, which was convenient and a great way to start the day. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at Hampton Inn Nanuet. I would definitely recommend booking a stay here for a comfortable, convenient, and reasonably priced hotel experience.

We arrived and were given our first room. The moment we opened the door, we were greeted by a powerful blend of mold, mildew, and what I can only assume was the lingering spirit of a wet basement. Usually, I'm the one with the sensitive nose, but when my husband and two teenagers all immediately started backing out of the room, I knew we had a problem. The front desk moved us to a second room. Progress! This one smelled less like a swamp and more like a gym bag that had been forgotten in a hot car for three weeks. At this point, we decided to stay because we didn't want to become "that family." Besides, surely this was as bad as it could get. Narrator: It was not. I went out and purchased a giant can of Febreze Air Sanitizer. By the end of our stay, that can had fought harder for our comfort than the hotel staff. The hotel only cleans rooms every other day, which is fine. What wasn't fine was when housekeeping finally came and apparently decided to participate in a speed-running competition. One bed was made. One was not. Our used bath towels were removed. New bath towels were apparently considered a luxury upgrade. Naturally, I tried calling the front desk. The room phone was broken. My husband and son had to physically walk down to the front desk to ask for towels, where they were informed that the phone couldn't be fixed. So from that point on, if we needed anything, we had to make a pilgrimage to the lobby like it was 1873. Then came breakfast. Now, nobody expects a continental breakfast to be a five-star dining experience. But this was impressive in all the wrong ways. The light roast coffee was empty. I informed an employee. She eventually refilled it. During that time, the dark roast ran out. I looked at my husband and said, "Watch. She's not even going to check." She did not. I informed her that the dark roast was now empty. "Oh, thank you," she replied. You're welcome, ma'am. I'd hate for the coffee situation to continue spiraling out of control. And finally, the sausage patties. Friends, these sausage patties were gray. Gray. Not brown. Not golden. Not "well done." Gray. They looked less like breakfast and more like something archaeologists would uncover during a dig. By the end of the trip, I wasn't sure if I was staying at a Hampton Inn or participating in a survival challenge. Needless to say, I will not be staying here again. The only thing complimentary about this hotel was the opportunity to appreciate every other hotel I've ever stayed in.

The one main positive--that saved the stay is that the room is Very Clean--Very. What did you not like David? 1. The shower head was not installed properly. The water shot out from the shower head attachment neck and hit the ceiling, another stream went over the curtain top and soaked the floor and my bag and towels on the rack. I had to deal with this for 2 showers. I tried to hand fix it but it was tight--just not installed correctly--they put a new head on it seemed and never tested it and housekeeping does not test it and if previous guests complained--they didn't follow-up. I have actually never seen this in many hotel stays over the years. Maintenance here is not on the ball to say the least. See photo of shower head. 2. The screen on the window was not put on right and coming off--see photo. 3. No soap bars--just pumps.--see photo. 4. They must have a contract with the government to house homeless because a number of people were just wandering the property alone, some talking to themselves, smoking outside in the parking lot, watching you. Not your typical busy hotel crowd that has an agenda. 5. The pillows and bed were not that comfortable and I could not get good sleep the second night. 6. See the picture--but I have never seen a heater/AC with red and blue lights that flashed at you all night in the dark. I had to use 2 kitchen towels to cover them up otherwise they light up the room flashing. Never encountered lights like this in a heater/AC. I do like this area--next to Costco and Target close and IHOP and highways and my sister's office is close and parking is free and easy. Towels are mostly fine here--some not. Bottled water is $2.00 a bottle. In sum, it's the type of place that is fine for 1 or 2 nights--not more. Next time in the area, I may try a different hotel.

After a thorough search, this property emerged as one of only two options that didn't fall into the "high roller" price tier common to the area's newer hotels. The hotel was uncommon for other Quality Inns, in that it is more vintage with flaws that need attention. The hotel was budget but acceptable. In my opinion, the staff could use some hospitality management skill-training. The receptionist seemed lost in his personal-phone and barely recognized our entrance; he lacked a welcoming greeting and the grace that that position requires. Previously before arriving, phone calls were not answered by the desk and my calls always switched to the answering service. The room light fixture was broken and disconnected, not replaced; we plugged it into the wall to make it work. The second light was unplugged. The bedding and pillows were clean and comfortable. Only 2-towels when women tend to need two. The toilet seat was loose. The room we entered was musty until we turned on the air. No mention of the railroad train loudly passing the rear of the hotel at night. Signs about no smoking, but the second floor smelled like excessive cigarette. The ice machine on the 3d floor was inoperative. The breakfast was slight - waffles no butter, 2 apples, bread slices, and juice. No suitable milk. The hostess was busy with the front desk, so the tables were dirty and the dining room unattended. The inn has a fitness room that was good, clean, and a plus. There is no other good budget choice in this area, but this Quality does not meet the higher standards of other Quality Inns. If cost is a deciding factor, I would not rule this option out for a place to sleep for the night.
