We came here at midnight on May 19th. Odd? Yes it is since we live a mile away. Our townhouse complex lost power at 4:30 pm on the hottest day of 2026. We kept getting updates from our power company for the restoration times. 9 pm, 11 pm, 2 am, but the kicker was restoration wouldn't happen until 6 pm that day! My husband is on oxygen and a cpap due to his cancer so we were forced to find accommodations. So, about the hotel. It was clean, the staff friendly, and the beds were comfy. We asked for a late check-out and they said 2 pm was fine without charging extra. Breakfast was great. We took it back to our room. expensive at $15.50 pp. Still it was delicious. I got the Eggs your way .....over easy, sausage, potatoes, and sour dough toast. The eggs were perfect, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! The sourdough toast was buttered and perfect! My husband had the French toast wth strawberries. "Dipped in cinnamon-vanilla custard and griddled, topped with powdered sugar, fresh strawberries, Vermont maple syrup" They smelled wonderful! We loved our breakfasts but the joy was taken away by the eco-friendly cardboard boxes the meals were served in. For most accommodations in our area, this hotel was pricey at $400.00 plus per night. A star off for that as well. Just a note. The tub bottom was very slippery! read more

This is your typical Courtyard Marriott. Rooms were decent sized, hallway was quiet, and the staff was friendly. There were numerous restaurants and shops nearby, in a convenient location. There was a small stain on the comforter that we noticed but otherwise the room was clean. We had to stay in the area for one night, so it was fine for a quick overnight stay. read more

Even had an air purifier to help with any airborne viruses. Ruth at the front desk was very helpful and a joy to deal with. We got a late dinner with Edgar at the cafe, and he was also very pleasant--and our meal was very good. The style and quality of Courtyard by Marriott is generally predictable (read: reliable), and I like that. The neighborhood is quiet and the rooms are clean. The bathroom sink and bathtub are on the smaller side, which is okay, but the oddest part of the room is that the TV is on the side of the bed (1 star off). The hotel could have just rotated the bed so that it's facing the bed! read more

I stayed at the Courtyard in Basking Ridge, the location is convenient as you're right by 78 and a number of shops and restaurants. Check-in was smooth. My room was comfortable, but a bit dusty and smelly. The TV was also at an odd angle. Check out was also smooth and the lobby and pool were modern and comfortable. read more

I have stayed at a lot of Courtyards and this one was just as good as others. Marriott has put in a program that allows for checkin by mobile device and a key is automatically sent to your phone. I did this. I was on a conference call the whole way through checkin and going into the room. Pretty amazing. The room had a ton of clean features including an air cleaner. The noise was too loud so I turned these off. There is a nice gym and the staff is friendly. Overall a good experience. read more

Went back based on my prior trip. Anyone who Fed Ex'es my wallet back deserves multiple visits. Service was excellent again and food in the bar as well as breakfast was great. The chef will cook you whatever type of omelet you'd like and they serve it to you v having to wait. Great service and great staff who greet/remember guests makes this hotel nice as the rooms are a bit dated. WiFi works fine and the fitness center is tiny. read more

I've been here several times. It keeps getting worse. The only reason I keep returning is there is no other game in town. This property gets a lot of use and the owner is not doing the needed maintenence. Everything is dirty or broken. The tap water is undrinkable and will not rinse soap effectively. O hope someone will build a new hotel in this area soon. read more

What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area of NJ....that's right NJ isn't just the horrors of Newark airport. First the area This hotel is about 30 minutes west and is in the middle of beautiful greenery and trees and homes that are so colonial and big and like out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Cute small towns are all around so check out Bernardsville. This is a great place to hike the neighborhood as the homes are all so beautiful. This hotel is done in the style of an old colonial building and fits in well with the neighborhood. And just up the street at great bagels me pizza. The hotel A top notch Marriott with friendly staff, awesome bistro with local type offerings including local beers. Also, the friendliest guests I have ever experienced. The room All seemed very new. Have stayed here often. Rooms have always been nice and comfy. Pool and hot tub add some nice relaxation. Last time I was there at Christmas, the Bistro food was very good and price reasonable. My only complaint is the inconsistent room pricing... every stay the price is different +/- $50-$100 and this time only 5 months after my last stay, the price is more than double, even with discounts and "Bonvoy" membership. So frustrating and unfortunately too high for my upcoming trip. read more

We selected the Courtyard by Marriott Basking Ridge to provide a room block for our wedding. To say that our experience was "mixed" would be putting it mildly. Unfortunately, our stay was severely affected by the poor performance of the events staff at the hotel. The events staff communicated very poorly: they provided contracts with ambiguous wording, they regularly failed to answer our questions our provide clarification on contractual wording and did not make it easy for us to get the information we needed. They also insisted on drip-feeding rooms in the block and required us to repeatedly ask them for booking numbers and then to expand the block, despite us making clear to them that the initial block size (20 rooms) was going to be insufficient. Before signing the contract they stated they would organize a shuttle to transport all of our guests staying in the block to the wedding venue. However, about two weeks before the wedding they told us they were only providing one shuttle which seated about 56 passengers despite having over 100 guests staying in the room block. Their suggestion to resolve this problem was to have guests arrive late to our wedding. This left us scrambling to find an alternative way to transport half of our guests. Even during the event there were errors: we had asked the events coordinator to organize drink tickets for our guests to use at the bar the night before our wedding. The tickets they printed had the wrong date on them, which caused confusion for our guests. When we pointed this out the hotel they were slow to re-print the tickets and acted as if there was no problem with the wrong date. We had to personally contact all of our guests who had already checked-in to tell them this was a mistake and that new tickets were being issued. The day-to-day staff were generally very good. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the housekeeping seemed very good, and the hotel lobby and public spaces were great for our large amount of guests. However, we found the event staff very disappointing, which is a shame: with better event staff we would have had a more satisfactory experience. I would not book a wedding room block with this hotel and would strongly encourage using a different hotel in the area. read more

I have nothing but GOOD things to say about this hotel. We rented 5 rooms and 2 suites for some of my sister's wedding party & relatives and I can speak for all of us when I say this hotel F#CKN ROCKED!! The front desk clerks (Steven was the best!) and the entire staff were great- UBER friendly and tended/responded to all of our requests/concerns efficiently. The rooms, rugs and common areas were VERY clean. The beds were SO comfortable and had LOTS of pillows- much like my own bed so I felt right at home!! I loved the little market - it had "soups-to-go" which is JUST what I needed to help with my hangover!! We only had breakfast at their restaurant- decent menu, LOVED the potatoes and eggs, FRESH fruits (my fave) and the service was also great. Oh, and the TVs in the booths were defintely a PLUS- it kept my daughter entertained while us grown-ups talked/ate. I also like the set-up of the lobby- LOTS of seating and nice view. I paid $116 p/n and compared to other hotels where I've paid the same (or more) I felt like this one gave me MORE for my money. The overall look and feel of Courtyard Basking Ridge OVER-EXCEEDED my expectations. I am MOST definitely a FAN and HIGHLY recommend it!! read more

Would have been four had there not been a dirty washcloth laying in the first room's tub, I'm already cranky because this is the third hotel after 11:30pm I've been sent to...finally it's 12:30 and we're in a clean room with an air purifier and clean linens. The front desk is very helpful and finally got us into a room we could sleep in. Don't really want to get into the other properties before as they are separate but apparently the same owner? Perhaps the staff at the other two could learn something from here in terms of greeting road weary guests with efficient and friendly service. I don't expect anything less, it's called the hospitality industry for a reason, it's expected. read more

Wow. This is definitely the best Courtyard I've ever stayed at. Everything is modern. The rooms are clean, upgraded, and new. And the very best part. 51 inch PLASMAS in every room. YES!!! Rooms are very large and comfortable. The beds are a tad bit softer than I would have liked it but was able to sleep just fine. You'll find all the standard Courtyard amenities such as free internet, excellent front desk service, nice lounge area with workstations/printer. Their free gym is small but adequate. The indoor pool is quite small. Everything looks clean. Plenty of parking. Beautiful yard area in the back for post dinner strolls. Some rooms has balconies, not sure if that cost more. Top notch hotel. High recommended for any traveler. read more

We stayed here for one night while headed back to MA. The staff was friendly, check in was easy + fast. The room was very nice, no problems noted. We ate at their small bistro restaurant, it was also very good. The only real problem is it's a bit off the highway. While obviously not really a five star hotel, it is as good as it gets for what it is. Recommended, 2 thumbs up. read more

this hotel fit our needs perfectly. we have an Autistic son who loves the pool, and even though there is a 1-hour time limit, Benjamin let us stay in the pool longer since no one had booked time after us. He was so helpful leading up to the night we stayed also, sending pictures of the hall leading to the pool and answering my questions. We rented the premium Pure room due to my wife's allergies, and the room clearly had water damage and probable mold. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Hotel is geared towards business travelers and not families like us. Don't plan on staying here again. read more

This was my first stay at a Courtyard. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I love the cute modern decor of the rooms here. Yep old, grand hotel rooms scare me. Flat screen TV and cosy couch.... love it. In most other hotels, I never ever use or touch the couches there. Here, I kinda like the set-up. However, I'm not a huge fan of their bathroom layout, choice of shower curtain etc. In my opinion, I much prefer white-colored scheme bathrooms than the beige or cream ones. Beige or cream-colored bathrooms always scream to me "OLD FASHIONED!". Get with the times! I love the cable channel selections at the Courtyard! Much better than the typical Hyatts or Westins I must say! Other than that, I've never attempted to eat at the restaurant - would prefer to do the 2 min drive to Origin French Thai III a stone's throw away to do take-out. Also, the pool is a disappointment here, no bar fridges and even if they are available in some rooms, they are not stocked either. All in all, judging from the Courtyard status and all, I was pretty pleased as I had ultra low expectations. read more

Furniture in rooms (dresser, desk, and bed) seem to be old. The sofa and carpet are the only upgraded components. The lobby has been redone to match the new brand. The weird thing is that the smoke detector is on the ceiling and the CO2 detector is near the bed close to the floor. I know CO2 is heavier them air so it floats down and smoke goes up but this is the first time I have seen them in the right places in an hotel. 4 stars for the maintenance team. On the other hand it took a while for me to get warm water on the 4th floor maintenance gets knocked a star and goes back to 3 stars. The fitness area is great. I was able to get in a good run on there upstaged equipment!! read more

Cons Check-in wasn't offered any info about amenities, breakfast, hotel layout. I had to ask. Tried to order lunch. Room service wasn't available until after 5. But try WORST part was asked them to call me a cab so I could pick up lunch since I was stuck there without car or food. My taxi turned out to be a SUV that unbeknownst to me was a "limo" and he charged me $40 to drive 2.5 miles to restaurant and back. What a SCAM. I ask for a taxi and they call their buddy who runs a "taxi" service and gauge their guests. Giving them 3 because bed and pillows were comfortable. read more

My husband and I could not sleep because the noise level in this place is atrocious. Who approved the design? The hotel seriously needs acoustics management. Rooms right over a lobby with no panel to block out the noise? Ridiculous! I spent $200 a night to have no sleep? I was here for a wedding and woke up feeling horrible. The discussion among my many family members is most could not sleep. For a brand name like Marriott, this is disgraceful. I was told by the hotel that this would be a "teaching moment" for the hotel. This is not a way to build customer loyalty... Also the hotel charges for parking and does not include breakfast. Also the body wash in the shower was not refilled, and the handles in the tub are not situated correctly if you are traveling with anyone who needs them. read more

Beautiful hotel.. however, will not be back. I've stayed at so many different kinds of Marriotts but was taken back by having an $8 charge for parking at this particular Courtyard. It does not tell you that when you make the reservation. They have AMPLE amount of parking since it's a regular hotel off a main road. Also, the parking lot last night was completely open on both sides, wrapped around the hotel and a full parking lot in the back. Doesn't make any sense to me. So I asked the woman at the front desk and she said we just started this month charging because hotels around the area are doing it. Crazy to me! I've never stayed at a Courtyard, Fairfield inn, Springhill Suites or related that has the same layout and paid for parking. read more

After meeting with a few hotels in the area, we decided to go with the Courtyard to reserve rooms (room block) for our wedding. To be honest, the hotel is very nice and much nicer than the others we met with. It is very clean, new and the rooms are really nice. The grounds are also very well manicured and they look great. We met with one girl to set the original room block up and she was fine. Everything after that, we had to deal with some guy in the corporate office in Somerset. He was impossible to reach by phone and took forever (2-3 business days) to return emails. And, all we were trying to do was add extra rooms to the block. Basically, we were trying to give them free business and no one would get back to us. I tried calling the hotel, but they would direct us to the corporate office. Fine. It is what it is. On the day before our wedding, I drove my now wife over to check-in. Since we had a certain number of rooms blocked, we were supposed to get a free room. This was in the original agreement. Of course, they had no record of this. This isn't a matter of being cheap, but when it is the day before your wedding, this is the absolute last thing you want to deal with. The manager, I can't remember her name, was VERY sincere and helpful. She ended up honoring our request, which I appreciated. I do think the hotel was very nice and all of our guests were accommodated, so that is why I am not giving the place 1 star. I just felt like they were difficult to deal with and the lines of communication weren't always there. If you were looking for a hotel to spend a couple of nights at, I am sure that this place would be perfect. read more

The ONLY reason I'm giving this hotel 2 stars is because the staff was absolutely amazing. Everyone from the front desk, to the bistro staff, and even the housekeeping staff was really, really helpful. That's the best thing I can say about this property. Everything else is a complete and total wash. If you can stay elsewhere, DO SO. The lobby is decent....and very open. The bistro area is also pretty nice, but that's where it ends. The sleeping rooms are AWFUL. It looks as if these rooms haven't been updated since the hotel was ORIGINALLY constructed. My tub was YELLOW...and not because that was the original color either. They still have shower curtains (hello, it's 2019...Glass or even glass-LIKE doors, PLEASE), along with a sink that's SEPARATE from the rest of the bathroom. The worst part was that my room was marked as a "Pure" room...one that was hypoallergenic. In reality, that meant a HUGE and VERY LOUD humidifier in my room, that took up a good portion of the floor space. The gym left EVERYTHING to be desired...it was small, and could be considered "crowded" with 3 people occupying 3 difference areas. What was even more astonishing was the price point per night......my company has a corporate rate that I thought was $206/night, which is INSANE for the lack of amenities at this property. Turns out, that right was the CHEAPEST for my entire stay. The 2nd and 3rd nights were $306 and $356 PER NIGHT. I had to ask the front desk for clorox wipes and lysol spray to ensure my room was clean when I first checked in, so this property DOES NOT warrant that price point. But because of the location in relation to lots of businesses in the area keep it competitive. To add insult to injury, myself and another team member were charged various amounts for parking. We never instructed the property that we had a vehicle with us at check-in or check-out. They just assumed everyone had a car. If I hadn't checked my folio upon check-out, I would have been inaccurately charged. That's becoming a habit at Marriott properties. Thankfully, I was able to call the hotel on the way to the airport, and have a very sweet staff member correct the error. Once again proving that the staff here is worth FAR MORE than the nightly rate. read more

They're in the process of expanding their bar so you'll have a chill place to kick back a few drinks after a long day of taking care of business. Let me start off by saying yes I know this is a Courtyard Marriott and not the top end of all Marriot hotels but it's clearly located in the middle of a major business area for travelers and I expect a higher quality from the Marriot brand. I arrived late in the evening after a long day at the client site to be greeted by 3 people at the front desk, while there was a line of business men such as myself trying to check in, and only one person actually checking anyone in. In addition two of them were wearing sweatshirts, not a uniform (not that I care all that much about it but I wanted this to be comprehensive). After checking in, I arrived at my room to find it directly above the pool meaning I had the chlorine smell as well as the rising heat. Not a big deal, I realize the hotel is very busy...except for the fact the room was also messy which just annoyed me above the normal level. Went to turn on the TV...no signal...went to use the phone to call the desk...no dial ton. I realize there's not much of a need to update the phone itself (it's basically ancient) but at least make sure it works. They send up a man who was rude and spoke very little English. He fiddled with the TV, and the signal came on and ultimately had to spend about 5-10min with the phone before getting it to work (I have no idea what he did for this portion). All was well and good until I went to use the TV the next night with the same issue, "no signal", on any channel. He came back again only to tell me that it was just an issue where I had to leave the TV on a bit and the signal would get picked up...really now? Is that how a TV is supposed to work? Now let's get to the bistro/café area, which I visited each morning for coffee and some sort of breakfast. The coffee itself you would assume was meant to be fairly easy since they have a Starbucks machine but talk about the worse cappuccino and lattes I've had. After the first two days, I just stopped going and grabbed something at the office. I ate in the Bistro for dinner one night as I had calls the whole evening...cold soup and what appeared to be under-cooked wings. I would've have complained more but at that point I was so done with the hotel, complaining didn't even seem worth it. I will not be staying here again. This time, I could not just simply lodge a complaint at the front desk, it just did not seem to be cared about or addressed. read more
