Hilltop Bikes is a great shop nestled in a safe neighborhood in east county (Fletcher Hills). The bike mechanic is a great listener and completely honest up-front. I told him my concerns and desires for my ebike and the bike mechanic made a logical recommendation and advised me he would contact me if something unexpected was found. Well, within 24 hours the bike was ready and I picked it up. Rather than charging me for new brake pads, he was able to utilize the existing pads and saved me money. This is a delayed posting. Took 2 bikes over and dropped off 1-2 months ago for tune up, and break pad replacements. Servixe was quick, and still no issues at this time. No rating at all for this place I took my razor scooter to Deven asked if he could fix the tube took him two tubes told him I needed it before Friday it was Monday morning he said sure I will try I told him if you can't do it let me know I'll go somewhere els. so Tuesday I call him no answer Let a message if u can't do it I can come pick it up he text me Wednesday night and says bad news I popped both tubes we could order another i Needed the thing done before Friday. he said it was the tube he lied it had nothing to do with the tube he just couldn't do it he put holes in the tube he said he couldn't get air in it so it popped just be honest next time now I have to order more tubes and I needed it by Friday he had it three days Wednesday night that's not responsible, although I wanted to give him a chance I love to support self owned businesses but that's not how you treat people by by lying just be honest the first time I won't ever go back I'd rather take my business elsewhere. read more

I brought in my poorly maintained mountain bike and Cameron quickly diagnosed what needed to be done, gave me a fair price, and a reasonable timeline for pickup. I'm very thankful I came across the Backyard Bike Geeks. I recently got back into cycling myself having been an avid cyclist previously and found a used bicycle on Offer Up for my boyfriend to join me in cycling. I took that bike in and I was told an inspection would be done, then the bike would be tuned up and/or repaired if need be. The gentleman assisting me, named Cameron, was very personable and quite frankly very honest about the bike's condition. Rather than being pushy and telling me the the bicycle needed more than just a tune up, he tuned it up as agreed upon, then at pick up he informed me the tires had a good 3 to 6 months left on it and recommended a new seat but did not forcefully tell me I needed to take care of these things now. Additionally, he said they guarantee their work so if anything was off, I was welcome to bring it back with no worries. Honesty and integrity goes along way with me, so with all of that said, I would recommend giving them a try. Had high hopes for this shop, as we are always looking for a way to give back or promote small business. This shop is literally someone's back yard with a "mechanic" whose knowledge about bikes is probably above average but is also lacking in any and all industry standards. Took bikes for a quick tune up and they didn't know how to seat road bike tubeless tires, didn't recommend break pad replacement etc. Had to take bikes to another shop to have them actually go and check the bikes, and to seat the tires well pretty much undo/redo everything else. When I went to pick up the bikes I found out your supposed to have an appointment to pick them up, even though I was texting earlier in the day and stated I would just pick the bikes back up, it was also not stated when I dropped them off. In fairness it may be on their intake google sheets form somewhere, but I don't remember. if you are looking for anything more than someone to put air in your tires and charge you $75, save your money and go somewhere else. read more
