When I called he says his milling machine is broken and he can take them to his buddy's to do them. I say let's get them done. Another week later they are finally ready. He charges me $335. This is a $150 to $200 job at any other shop. When I questions the bill he says they charge hourly. I think all he did was take them to another shop and double charge me. I will never step foot in that place again and bad mouth them any time I get the chance.

Monday i get a call saying it's ready. Tuesday i pick up. They want $65 plus tax. I scoff stating i was quoted $40. I get a response something along the lines of "Well it's $65, so unless you want to leave it here...". The gasket surfaces weren't clean. There was still a bit of grease embedded in the casting. I asked why it wasn't very clean, and they said "Well you can't put it in the hot tank." (No sh!t, A{}hole, it's caustic to aluminum, this isn't my first rodeo, i used to work in a machine shop). Apparently they don't even have a jet/steam cabinet and they WASHED IT IN THE SOLVENT TANK, or so they said. I got it home, cleaned up the mating surfaces, blew it out with the compressor and found glass bead (sand) all throughout the lifter bores and oil galleys. They didn't bead blast it, nor did I ask them to. It should not have had ANYTHING in it and should have been in a bag. Not sitting out on a stool in the open like it was when i went to pick up. The men that work here are not men at all. They are scoundrels that should not be trusted. They do shoddy work. Check google, they have many awful reviews. I hope the business goes under soon, because it's a waste of space. This experience with Jim Green's was more of a barometer to see what kind of work they do, as i do a lot of work on mitsubishi performance vehicles for myself and others. They'll not ever see my face in their shop again, let alone a penny from my coffers. I actually contemplated taking this particular head to the car wash and blasting it off because it wasn't even all that filthy. Customer lost a timing belt and some exhaust valves got bent. No cracked guides, and everything else checks out, so I just wanted to be working with clean parts, not throwing it together with grime and grit all getting in the way. I should have taken it to the car wash. I would have saved about $60 and whole lot of frustration. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CLOWNS FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER!!

I ordered a part and they typed in manual instead of automatic when doing the search in their…read moresystem, so once I got home and got my old part out, I realized that it was the wrong part. So I had to then call them back and have the guy tell me "Nah...that's just how those parts are, it may not look exactly like the one that was in your car as they are designed to fit many models of cars". So I go back to my car, and sanity check myself that NO, it is not the right part. It was then that I called back and we figured out the problem. Okay, no problem...one error that anyone could do. It was a little frustrating to finish removing all of the parts of my car and wait another day to complete the repair, but I understand these types of things happen. So then I go back the next day to pick up my new (correct) part and also turn in my core for the rebate (if you don't know, you get money back if you bring in your old part) and I ask them "Do you just give me cash for the part or does it go back on the card?" and they told me that it will go back on the card and according to the receipt it has already been handled. I thought this was a little strange as I had not brought in the core until that minute, so I was confused as to how it was "already handled", but I rolled with it. After waiting 3-5 business days, I still saw nothing in my bank and called to check on this. As I suspected, they had no record of processing the rebate at all and I needed to come back in to reswipe my card and get that money back. After that, I still had to wait an additional 3-5 days for the money to get in my account. I am a very patient person, I took all of these as simple mistakes, but as I am reviewing this place I still have to document them and express that while I understand that mistakes happen, I didn't have a pleasant experience with this personally. It was a LOT of back and forth with them on the phone and I just don't have time for all of that. And at the end of the day, all I got was a "Ah, yeah...sorry, man, haha". So, in conclusion the part is fine and the price was acceptable, but they need to drink a little more coffee or something because these mistakes don't need to happen for a first time customer on a first time visit. I hope I am an isolated case.

This review is LONG overdue (just like the oil change always is on our Land Cruiser). I can not…read moreexpress in words (but will try) how much we appreciate Mike and his team - they have saved us SO much and they fix the issue and it's gone. As a mother of two toddlers, we want our children to be in the safest most reliable car we can afford (especially when driving on HWY-2 & 203 daily) and for us it is our used 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser. Mike and his crew have helped us not only save money but keep your little ones safe with their mechanical talents. We use to take our Toyota Land Cruiser serviced at Michael's Toyota of Bellevue, but after repeated visits for the same issues which they weren't resolving, and then charging use again to fix we knew something was not right. We needed to find an honest auto repair business and fast - as our car is the work horse for our family. We found Monroe Foreign Auto Repair on Yelp and based on their reviews we took a chance, and thank goodness we did! The $3,500 a/c repair we were quoted at Michael's Toyota of Bellevue turned out to be a $1,500 repair at Monroe Foreign Auto Repair! What more - the a/c worked 50% better than when we bought the car used 7 years before. We were floored and so grateful, as every family knows - every dollar is accounted for and committed when you have children. Mike and his team were very practical and conservative with their assessment and repair approach game plan. They were very up front with what they knew about the vehicle / model (and OMG - do they know A TON about Toyota's!), and walked us through the options and plan of attack to address the issue. We were so impressed with their ethics. It's seems so hard to find a business who puts the needs of their customer's first rather than much they can squeeze/take advantage of them in a difficult situation. Wish there were more businesses out there run by people like Mike. Unfortunately they do not work on domestic cars, When we brought in our Ford Escape, Mike referred us to reputable auto repair shop who took car of us, Apex Auto Service just across the road who took care of us. Also, drop off/pick up of our car was EASY! The only time we could drop off our Toyota off after hours, and all we had to do was park/lock the car (they have security cameras every where) - fill out one of the envelopes, drop the key in and slip it into the door slot. Mike fixed our car while we were away on a family trip. We handled payment over the phone and arranged pick up when we returned. If you have even the smallest of issue with your foreign car and have been given a quote, highly urge/recommend you stop by and see Mike before committing to anyone and see what his team can do for you. Always get a 2nd even 3rd opinion ... you could save tons of money like we did. Monroe Foreign Auto is the ONLY place we will take our Toyota to from now on.

A few days later it was ready and I paid $700.00 and thought I was getting a great deal. I used the boat only a few times locally at Edmonds and Everett. Only a 50 mile round trip one way. Then drove up Vancouver Island for a week and then towed it to Port Alberni and home. This September when I returned, I was trailering the boat to Edmonds Marina and saw smoke coming from the front wheel. I called Kenny's Truck parts and told them my problem and that I was stranded. They took no responsibility even when I paid them a visit the next day. I limped the boat to Les Schwab in Kenmore and they were more than happy to help. After diagnosis, the trailer needed an entire new spindle, bearings and brakes and the spindle arm replaced. When Les Schwab realized the spindle arm was welded in, and recommended me to 3 Rivers Marina. I was treated well by both businesses. Maybe this message can help someone else!
