Big ripoff! I dropped off two heads to have resurfaced and pressure tested. They had them for a week and never contacted me. When I called he says his milling machine is broken and he can take them to his buddy's to do them. I say let's get them done. Another week later they are finally ready. He charges me $335. This is a $150 to $200 job at any other shop. When I questions the bill he says they charge hourly. I think all he did was take them to another shop and double charge me. I will never step foot in that place again and bad mouth them any time I get the chance. read more

I brought a 4g63 cylinder head in here for a standard cleaning one would expect from any machine shop. I dropped it off Friday, was quoted $40 and told it would be ready in a couple of days. Monday i get a call saying it's ready. Tuesday i pick up. They want $65 plus tax. I scoff stating i was quoted $40. I get a response something along the lines of "Well it's $65, so unless you want to leave it here...". The gasket surfaces weren't clean. There was still a bit of grease embedded in the casting. I asked why it wasn't very clean, and they said "Well you can't put it in the hot tank." (No sh!t, A{}hole, it's caustic to aluminum, this isn't my first rodeo, i used to work in a machine shop). Apparently they don't even have a jet/steam cabinet and they WASHED IT IN THE SOLVENT TANK, or so they said. I got it home, cleaned up the mating surfaces, blew it out with the compressor and found glass bead (sand) all throughout the lifter bores and oil galleys. They didn't bead blast it, nor did I ask them to. It should not have had ANYTHING in it and should have been in a bag. Not sitting out on a stool in the open like it was when i went to pick up. The men that work here are not men at all. They are scoundrels that should not be trusted. They do shoddy work. Check google, they have many awful reviews. I hope the business goes under soon, because it's a waste of space. This experience with Jim Green's was more of a barometer to see what kind of work they do, as i do a lot of work on mitsubishi performance vehicles for myself and others. They'll not ever see my face in their shop again, let alone a penny from my coffers. I actually contemplated taking this particular head to the car wash and blasting it off because it wasn't even all that filthy. Customer lost a timing belt and some exhaust valves got bent. No cracked guides, and everything else checks out, so I just wanted to be working with clean parts, not throwing it together with grime and grit all getting in the way. I should have taken it to the car wash. I would have saved about $60 and whole lot of frustration. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CLOWNS FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER!! read more

I gave them one star because no stars is not an option. I will never give these crooks another penny. Took my car there for body and paint work. Jim green's only concern is to get your car into his shop and basically hold it there for ransom as they take their sweet ass time working on it while extorting money from you for as long as possible. Meanwhile continually saying that its almost done and that he needs a payment because of "taxes". They had my car for 10 months! 5 months past my deadline. It was nowhere near my original budget. I ended up missing my race season as well as car shows and drives that had planned. They painted it but never finished assembling it. After another month of no progress I finally showed up with my trailer and got it out. Jim said that I owed him money yet he couldn't provide any paperwork, time sheets, invoices or anything. By the time I loaded my car, the amount that he said that I owed went down because he happened to find two of my payments that were apparently misplaced. The quality of the work done was sub par for what I paid. None of my priorities were finished yet they spent countless hours on what I wasn't concerned with like door jams etc. I had bare metal still in the trunk and under the car where they replaced the trunk drop offs and where they patched the rear quarter panels they never even used any seam sealer to the weld seams throughout. Why would you leave bare metal when you are already spraying the entire car with both primer and paint? They never drilled the hood for my hood pins before painting a brand new fiberglass hood and the passenger door was chipped the first time that I opened it because they didn't fit it right before paint and it contacted the fender when being opened. During the time that my car was there I heard of several other customers having the same issues as myself not to mention a I saw more then one employee quitting on jim including his shop manager. By the way, I was a long time customer of twenty years and thats how I was treated. It will bring me great joy to see them go out of business do to customer treatment and greed. read more

If you have them do your work make sure you bring your own bottle of lube so its not as painful as it was for me! I was getting my boat ready for the upcoming fishing season and called them to see if they could cleanup my Holly 600 carb ,it worked perfect but was really dirty and may need a little TLC. I explained that I had less then a week before season opened and could they get it done in that time frame. Jims response was "no problem" so I told him I would pull it and drop it off. He insisted that he would rather me leave it on the boat and just bring the whole boat in and he would remove ,rebuild and reinstall and quoted me $325 for the rebuild and what ever time it took to pull it and reinstall .So I thought OK an extra hour labor ( @ $100 hr shop time) no problem and then it would be there to adjust after installation . Upon delivery the story changed (in a days time) to him saying "boy not sure if we can get to it ,we are swamped" but we can try. The day after I dropped the boat I got a call from him that said they removed the carb and hot tanked it and decided that it was unbuildable (junk) but that he had ordered me a new one which would be $750 ( I later found out that the carb I bought is really worth $325 anyplace but there) plus labor. I was stuck with the season opener in a few days and needed the boat so I said ok I guess that's what we need to do. When I got there to pickup the boat I was charge $ 750 for the carb and $1100 for labor plus tax. He said he had 11 hrs of billable shop time into removing a carb from a stock 350 chev. This is a place where they can remove, strip down to a bare block and rebuild an 8000 HP engine at the drag strip in 90 mins and have it ready for the next run down the track but took 11 hours (a full day and a half) to remove four bolts and undo a gas line . I asked them if they didn't see a problem with that and they said " no ,its not our fault. it took as long as it took " When I got it home I ran it for a while I started loading the boat and it was pouring (leaking gas) into the engine compartment so I had to either drive the 6 hr round trip back to Monroe to have them fix it or take it to a shop in Sedro Woolley. I choose to take it to a shop that was closer ( I would never make it back to Monroe before they closed) and they charged another $150 to fix the problem. The next day I started my halibut season and realized that I was burning 55 gal an hour in fuel ! (usually on an average I burned 8 gal an hour at 3200 rpms) . When I got off the water after the first weekend I called them and complained about the carb problems and the guy I was talking to on the phone said " I don't know why you put that Holly 750 on there anyway, your carb just got out of the hot tank and why don't we install the original one back on the boat " ? I told him to get it ready and that I would make arrangements to get back down there at the end of the short season and have them install the original one . I got a phone call a few days later from Jim stating that if I wanted the guy to install the carb I had better hurry because his last day is Friday . I can only assume that they fired him for telling me the truth about my original part. To bring this to a close , I had them remove the new carb (which they kept with no refund)and reinstall my old carb ,which now had issues with sticking floats and butterfly (it took two people to start it ,one to manually work the carb and one inside to turn it over) . I used it for a weekend (two days) then I parked the boat for a few months. Tried to start it last week to winterize it and it caught fire , blew the power valve and almost burned up my Seasport boat. I am out about $2400 not counting three trips to Monroe ( 18 hrs of drive time) ,an extra $2000 in additional fuel costs for 10 days of fishing and now I have to take it off and start over by buying a new carb. Starting to sound like a job for "GET JESSE" on TV doesn't it? Don't know what happened to them after the move from Edmonds but at this rate they wont be around long read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! Dropped my motor off in January for a simple rebuild. Thought the place was reputable. Was so wrong. Was quoted 2-3 weeks and $4000 for the rebuild. Reality = 6 months/$7500. I did not get the motor back until June (6months). They did not even touch the motor until 2days before I got it back. I called them once or twice a week over that 6month period and got a "my guys keep calling in sick". Was ready to pull it outta there and count my loses. Should have done that. I again trusted them. Finally got the motor back (they reused all my parts...crank, cam, heads, pistons, and still charged me $7000 dollars!!!!!!) I put the motor into my car, ran for 20mins, then died. Turned it by hand and it was seized. Had to tow car all the way out to their shop. Took them a week to get back to me. Said they "changed oil" and it was fine. Charged my 7hrs $900 additional dollars. STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!! SHADY PLACE!!!! read more
