Mercedes, VW, Jeep, Nissan... getting quotes and considering having them do various work that I didn't have the tools or training on, but it always worked out to be less expensive for me to buy the specialized tools and do it myself. What I found refreshing was they enjoyed talking about the engines and even offered advice on what to do and not do. These folks know Diesels and if I didn't have the skills or want to buy the tools, I'd use them with confidence, reason being is I've had at three local shops break more than they fixed. Dealerships often won't or can't do the work on older vehicles. After I did my own service on a complicated little Diesel, I wanted someone that knew it well enough to do a thorough check. It wasn't trivial maintenance and involved well over a grand in parts and special tools... if I hadn't done it right, it wouldn't end well. I wanted to make sure it was correct because it's my wife's vehicle. They understood, they checked my work, and the entire vehicle and found one thing I had missed, which I'll be fixing later. They charged a reasonable amount for the complete check, less than the original estimate (they had scheduled 2 hrs, but only needed 30 minutes). If I had done something wrong I gladly would have paid to have it fixed by them. I know why they put rubber bands in Diesels, but wish they wouldn't, and then they require expensive special tools to change. So, if you've got a rubber band in your Diesel and you think the quote might be high... look at the special tools required to do the job, the training and skill required to do it. Get a quote from the Dealer as well, if they'll even service an older vehicle. Shop rate seems high, but it costs a lot of money to keep a shop going, especially with fees, taxes, safety and environmental mandates, insurance, training, special tools, skilled technicians... If I am not able to do something on my own in the future I'll be back. People have to realize that repairing vehicles can get complicated quickly, other parts wear out, things break that shouldn't break when trying to be removed and most vehicles simply were not designed well or built to be repaired easily, and of course dealerships stop supporting older vehicles. So, what's a person to do? Simple, find a shop like this one with folks who know a variety of vehicles. And before you complain about the costs of a repair, look at what is involved in that repair on line, and ask yourself, do you think YOU could do that job? If so, do it yourself, buy the tools, shop manuals, parts and save yourself the money. But you'll find it will take you more time, and chances are good that you'll break things along the way and the info you found on line might not have mentioned the things most mechanics already know. But, you'll save somewhere between 25 to 50% of what will be charged, and you will have special tools you'll likely never use again. Also, consider in the costs of towing if it goes horribly wrong, and what it will take/cost a professional to make it work again. I'm very thankful for those high school shop classes back in the '60's and '70's, they've saved me a lot of money over the years, and I didn't mind paying to have my work checked, if I hadn't done it right, it could have been very expensive.

We brought two of our cars here…read more People are friendly but the service was not up to par. They inspected our truck and failed to tell us our car was not drivable. We had our wheel bearings looked at and they said the should be replaced soon but not that our car was not drivable. So we took our car home to plan on when we could be without the car and bring it back. Well THREE days later, our wheel FLEW off while we were on the freeway almost causing a catastrophic car accident. We had to pay over 3,000 to fix it and towing fees. We called to complain about not be advisied that this was not drive able and that we shouldn't have drove off the lot but they said "well do what you gotta do". We also during this same time had our other vehicle under their "inspection" and "care" to replace a clutch on a manual. The replaced the clutch but it caused other issues with our motor mount. We took it to another shop after two attempts of having them "check their work" and this other shop advised us to never go back here. We have ANOTHER loose wheel bearing (which wasn't an issue before and were brand new) and issued with motor mount from the clutch install from this place They refuse to acknowledge they had any part in this and are adamant that BOTH cars were "fine" Take a look at our truck after NOT being told our truck wasn't drivable. My whole family was in the car and they are LUCKY no one was significantly harmed

There hasn't been one day in 10 years that they have had more than 2 customers vehicles in the shop. obviously the owner has his vehicles in there, but never a full shop. 2nd encounter....I ask for an estimate to get full exhaust replaced on my other car, same answer. Might I add, the representative of Everett pro muffler n Brake is not friendly nor courteous in the slightest. last interaction was indeed the last. I requested an exhaust system quote on a stock vehicle and was told they only do custom exhaust. All interactions were in person and not over the phone. I do not recommend this shop in any way. I was treated poorly and disrespectfully.

Back in 2015 I had an oil change performed at A1 Auto Service Center on my 2014 Mazda 6. Several…read moreweeks later my oil pressure light came on while driving and my engine sounds were alarming. I took the car to my dealership and they pointed out that the oil filter had likely failed as the oil had leaked out which caused heavy engine damage. I contacted A1 Auto Service Center and was told that since the oil filter was good when I drove away, that it was my problem to deal with. After a LOT of back and forth over weeks and months WIX, A1 Auto Service Center's oil filter supplier, eventually covered the damage to my car. However the approximate $5,000 in rental car charges that I incurred, due to not having a working vehicle for several months, was never recouped. After doing some research into the industry, it turns out shops like A1 Auto Service Center are required to have insurance to cover situations like this and they didn't have it. In the end A1 Auto Service Center put the responsibility on me to pursue their oil filter supplier while they refused to take any responsibility. A reputable shop would have provided a backup vehicle while they took point and got it sorted out. I understand companies being cautious about accepting liability but this should never come at the expense of the customer. I felt helpless as these two companies consistently pointed the finger at each other all while I'm incurring debt in order to secure transportation just so I don't lose my job and ability to provide for my family. The way the owner/manager conducted himself towards me was disgraceful, disrespectful, and showed a complete lack of care for my situation as his customer. Everyone I spoke to that was involved in this ordeal had similar things to say him and the way he does business. This is, by far, the worst experience in customer service that I have ever received. That is why I have come back 10 years later to drop this review.
