Price to rebuild a390 was competitive. Didn't stay on schedule. Jeremy seemed to not know much and was unconcerned. $3,000 and the motor leaked from a pipe plug in the back of the engine. Jeremy said "We don't guarantee that". They did correct it after I insisted, but I had to take it to them. The machinist was good, front office bad. read more

We live in our RV and need our box truck to take the RV to the septic dump. Auto Truck Service said they were ready for our truck so we brought it in. After not hearing anything for over 2 weeks, we called. They hadn't even looked at it yet! 2 more weeks go by. Nothing was done, yet. We ended up having to pay $185.80 for a company to come dump our tanks. Then another month later they were still working on it. Again, another $185.80 for a company to come dump our tanks. During this time, they left our truck unlocked in their yard and it got ransacked and a LOT of things were stolen. The shop replaced our generator with a used one and gave us $200 cash to replace the tool box, but that doesn't cover much. The thieves not only stole a lot of our stuff, including my mobility device, they completely ransacked the truck. Stuff was everywhere. We had to put all our stuff in a storage unit in order to take everything out to find out just what was missing and put everything back in, in an orderly fashion. We are disabled and this was no easy feat. So we ended up with another unnecessary expense for the storage unit. Not only did we pay nearly $1500 for repairs, we had over $300 in extra costs that wouldn't have been necessary, on top of having to replace the items that were stolen. One of the jobs we needed done was to replace the power steering belt and check the pulley alignments so that it wouldn't happen again. Today the same belt shredded again. read more

I dropped off my truck to be serviced and inspected before a 2k mile trip. They had my truck for over a month and charged me $900 to fix the steering and broken frame rivets. Yet they NEVER checked my oil!!!! They told me that everything other than the frame looked great. How the hell do you tell a customer about to drive 2k miles your inspection turned up no other issues and you haven't even checked the oil. I also asked them to check the dual fuel tank actuator because it doesn't switch to the front tank. They never did. Every time I talked to Jeremy or Kerry the owners they sounded confused. Made up excuses why they hadn't started any work and needed to be reminded what the truck was even there for. Do not under any circumstance take your car or truck to these crooks. I'm only lucky I checked the oil myself or else I would have burned up my engine in the middle of nowhere. read more

Again, you guys rocked. Went in today with my sons Mitsubishi Eclipse. We had stripped the interior to clean carpet and I failed to disconnect the battery prior to disconnecting the SRS switches on the seats. So if course this caused the SRS light to trip and the air bag system to stop working. Not a big deal as far as resetting the light and the system BUT, the software and hardware is prohibitively expensive. Went to a dealer; no complaints, but they would charge a minimum shop rate to reset the light about $50 to $100. I get it. Its a business. But at ATS, Jeremy, manager? Owner? doesn't charge. Nor does he ever make me feel stupid for the eff ups I do!! Lol. So thank you Jeremy and thank you to the professional and competent mechanic who reset the light. You guys will continue to be one of only two shops I go to or refer others to! read more

Dropped off a small, two cylinder diesel engine off to them to insert new sleeves and bore them to spec., check out the cylinder head to see if it needed reconditioning (they determined it did not need work) and resurface the block. They did a great job. It was a long wait, but it was worth it because the job was done right. read more

I've taken my car here a couple of times and these guys do a great job. They also stand behind what they do. A testament to that is that they do a lot of fleet work for local companies. Their pricing is reasonable and they keep a nice clean shop. I didn't see one booby calendar either! Ill face the facts, my Blazer is a POS, but they get me back on the road quickly everytime. The only con is the neighborhood. A block down is the mens mission but shop itself is safe and secure. Just don't mind the eccentrics under the bridge. read more

Return customer, this time we did a chevy 283 and turbo 350 transmission. Both are working great in our '51 chevy. Kerry really understood what I wanted out of the project and made several recommendations for internals in the motor and a head swap. These guys are the best. They are reliable, they don't try to trick you into buying extra unnecessary stuff, and their prices are fair. The guys know exactly what they are doing and I've never had a problem with them. My dad has been going to them for years and when I got my first car-, its where I have taken mine since. My newest car has been a bit of a lemon and has needed many things fixed within the past year alone, but they have always squeezed me in at a moment's notice and are very good about fixing it up by the time I need it again. The only downside I'd say is that they're in a fishy part of town? But don't let that deter you. If you want GOOD car service, go here. read more

I broke a lifter on my LS2 motor and decided to spend the coin for a total rebuild. Went to ATS with a perfect LS2 block and requested they clean-up/hone the cylinders (.005) and build a quality forged motor. I also asked for a complete long-block assembly as I would rather leave that sort of thing to the "professionals". Here is a break down of what they did and the mistakes they made #1 Bored an LS2 block to 4.030" - any reputable shop knows max is 4.010" on LS2's #2 Decked the block and they ordered stock height pistons - pistons were at a +deck height and almost contacting the heads. Not even close to correct "quench" #3 Rotating Assembly was never balanced - 913 lbs of force @ 10,000 rpm on the right bank and 133 lbs on the left bank #4 Milled the heads & used stock length push-rods - motor was floating valves at 4000 rpm #5 Assembled the motor without final cleaning of any parts - 3rd oil change at 1000 miles had so much debris I pulled the motor They would not own up to their work. It's all about quantity over quality. Went to Auburn and spent $3400 for a total rebuild on a motor that had 1k miles. Re-balance, New rings, bearings, etc. ATS has a bunch of kids working there and Kerry running around trying to work on every car there. It's a circus. If your building a serious motor and spending your hard earned money would you want "kids" with little to no experience machining and assembling your motor? Take a look at how dirty the "assembly room" is......do you think your parts are clean when they slap everything together? Do yourself a favor and head down to Auburn. There are 2 really good shops that will do it right the first time. read more

We brought our Ford 302 boat motor to these folks Jan. '17 for a rebuild, they did an awesome job and during the process a big unknown was uncovered which caused unforeseen work & delays and I could only describe as a real f**kery and these guys took it on with professional determination. They stand behind the work and even came to the boat after install to insure it was running it's best. In the end it's been 10 months of running - flawlessly. No doubt I'd go there again. read more

Dropped my vehicle off for a transmission RR. Was a told a week turn around. FOUR WEEKS later still not finished and not one call from Jeremy advising me why. This guy is a legend in his own mind but absolutely awful when dealing with people. It now has been 6 weeks still no call. Must be surviving off reputation because his still haven't received or had my vehicle returned. read more

I had my truck engine rebuilt in December, It never ran smooth, so I talked to the owner, Jeremy about it. He blamed the cam, said it was the reason it ran like it did. a few months went by and I got a check engine light. I took my truck to another mechanic and he put it on the diagnostic computer and told me I had air leaks. I went back to Jeremy and he again blamed the cam. They had it for 2 days and claimed they fixed it, yet it still ran rough, Jeremy claimed that the 4.0 Ford motors always run rough, and that it was also the cam. I called Delta cams and the guy there told me the cam they sold me was barley over stock, that if it was running rough I had AIR LEAKS. Well today my check engine light came on again, I checked the code and sure enough Its the very same code as before. I am done dealing with ATS, I would suggest that if you need an engine rebuilt, look somewhere else, these mechanics are incompetent, and the owner is a liar. read more
