It was super tasty with the perfect amount of sweetness and I got the lavender and maple essence, but not so much the blueberry. I also got a Parmesan pepper danish, which was decent- honestly it looked cool so I was intrigued haha. There are a lot of different types of seating options (darker/natural light, sofas, wooden benches, bar-type, regular tables) so ambiance is great. Service was fast & friendly. Lots of parking in the lot upfront. 9/10 would recommend!

I hit it just before the Sunday crowd and got a great high top table facing outside with nice sunlight coming through. I got the Americano with a oat milk float on top and a scrumptious morning bun. I highly suggest this pastry, sugary, buttery , flaky without being too sweet . A bit messy but oh so good. Didn't plan on eating it all but oh well I did. Get it warmed up. Coffee was nice and strong. With the perfect amount of foam. Super clean and well run , a little hidden away from most retail and restaurants. Sat here eating and reading for a bit. Perfect Sunday morning.

I also should add that ordering ahead will save you about 20 mins.

Awesome place. Coffee always tastes great. The lounge area is very relaxing and the people are always nice and has a smile on their faces. MUCH better then going to the chain coffee shops . These people take the time to talk to you and see how your day is going. Never get the RUSHED feeling from anyone there. read more

The first time was September 13, 2021; the ending stages of COVID so customers were not allowed in the shop. I ended up drinking coffee outside with three local gentlemen; one of the them was Larry. He is an owner and a Marine Veteran. We had some good laughs and I learned a lot about Banner Elk and the surrounding area. After visiting Fred and Larry's Coffee the first time, I realized I wanted to make exploring local coffee shops a part of my life; and here I am almost 500 coffee shops later. On my second trip I enjoyed a cortado while relaxing on Fred and Larry's big comfy leather couch. The barista was super friendly. She is definitely an incredible asset to the shop. Thank you Fred and Larry for making delicious coffee and providing a relaxing setting to meet new people and dream up new adventures in life. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

We simply asked if we could swap it for a different coffee, but instead of trying to accommodate us, we were given a hard time about it. For a family that had just ordered eight coffees, I thought that was unnecessary and poor customer service. On top of that, the muffin we ordered was frozen. I know places can have an off day, but between the weak coffee, frozen muffin, and the way our simple request was handled, this was not the experience we expected.
