I've been to Bohemia Coffee House in West Jefferson twice now, and both visits have been fantastic! It's a smaller, welcoming space with a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for slowing down, enjoying a good drink, and spending time with family or friends. I also really appreciate how family-friendly it feels. It's the kind of place where you can comfortably stop in with the family, grab a drink, and enjoy some quality time together without feeling rushed. There's just something really inviting and down-to-earth about the atmosphere. The location is another big plus. It's centrally located in West Jefferson, making it a convenient spot to stop while you're exploring downtown or spending the day in town. It's an easy place to add to your plans, whether you're looking for a morning pick-me-up, an afternoon treat, or somewhere cozy to take a break. On this visit, I ordered a hot apple cider, and it was so good! It was exactly the kind of warm, comforting drink that fit the atmosphere perfectly. We stopped by Bohemia Coffee Shop while exploring downtown West Jefferson, and it was a great find. The shop is cute and inviting, right on the main strip, with a warm atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Even though there was a steady stream of customers, the staff kept the line moving quickly while still taking the time to chat with people and make everyone feel welcome. Our drinks came out fast, too. I ordered an iced mocha latte, and it was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had. My husband had a double shot of espresso and really enjoyed it as well. The quality of the coffee definitely stood out. Another thing we loved was the ambiance. They feature handmade items from local artists, have spaces where people can network and leave business cards, and the upbeat music added to the welcoming feel. There was plenty of indoor seating, and we enjoyed sitting by the window and people-watching for a while. Honestly, there wasn't anything we didn't enjoy. We'd definitely stop in again the next time we're in West Jefferson. read more

Both were refreshing and flavorful. Service was fast and accurate for a moderate client load and consistent stream of orders. Sidewalk seating available. Dogs welcome. The interior is spacious with plenteous and varied seating options: bar, table, nooks, and couches. The establishment is clean and there's congestion to the decor, but I can't say it's classically "bohemian". Nonetheless, it's pleasant, comfortable, and welcoming. The employees do not acknowledge customers as fellow humans with eye contact, but instead mechanically take orders, take money, and on to the next...Don't order a toasted bagel; they will lose track of it in the back and be condescending to you when you ask about it after waiting for so long that it's no longer warm. The employees were very friendly and welcoming upon entry. Overall it's a cool vibe inside! Lots of seating options & cute items for sale. I was a huge fan of the wooden duck with sparkly red boots. They have a large coffee menu and also some non-coffee options. I went for my usual iced Dirty Chai. Very reasonable prices and it was ready super quick. Sadly it was lacking on ice so halfway through my drink all the ice had melted & it started to taste watered down and wasn't very chilled. The restrooms were out of toilet paper and paper towels in the dispenser. I let the staff know & they said "we know, we've alerted the manager." I thought it was strange that the rest of the staff doesn't have access to those paper products, but I digress. I definitely had a better coffee experience at other nearby locations. read more

Bohemia is a great spot to grab coffee if you're exploring the adorable downtown West Jefferson area. I stopped in on a Saturday morning and was able to find free street parking easily out front. The service was quick, the cold brew was delicious, the baristas were incredibly friendly, and the space itself was clean, bright, and had plenty of seating available. The only thing I would flag is that the restroom situation was a tad uncomfortable. It was a single-stall bathroom with two doors -- one you enter as a customer, and one that leads to what looks like an employee-only area. There was no way to lock the door to the employee-only area from inside the restroom, so someone could have easily walked in from that door. Not the end of the world, but definitely something that would be worth changing for customers' peace of mind. read more

My husband and I are on vacation here and have started every morning off with a coffee and bagel here. They have a crazy amount of flavor options. I have ordered the Pumpkin Spiced Latte Hot, Pumpkin Spiced Latte Cold, Strawberry Banana Smoothie, and Peppermint Latte Hot. (Any place that sells pumpkin spiced drinks year round is good in my book.) The staff is very kind, the storefront is clean, and they're very fast at making the drinks. The bagels are also real bagels too, not the horrible kind you buy in the grocery store. Overall I'd recommend. It's a very chill atmosphere and a great start to the morning. read more

I'm giving this coffee shop the benefit of the doubt but we weren't able to try it because it didn't open on time! We had gone in the day before and had asked what time they opened so we could get coffee before we started our day. They had told us 7 am. We tried to come in around 7:25/7:30 this morning but the doors were locked. The door still had the "closed, will be back at 7 am" sign up. We tried twice to enter but the doors were locked. The first time I made eye contact with the employee at the front. I thought she was coming around to open but instead she went into the back. We walked around the town for a bit then came back to open the door and this time the employee was eating breakfast and we made eye contact but she didn't come to let us know when they would be open. Very awkward. The reason I left two stars instead of one is because this is a locally owned shop and maybe they were having an off day, the other reviews were very good. I'm very big on communications, customer service, and consistency. I wish the employee had come come around and told us the issues that were going on (ex. Internet down, still making food, etc) instead of just watching us struggle. I would have come back if she had communicated to us but now I would rather drive somewhere else after this experience. Which is sad because this shop is more convenient to where I am staying. We also watched another customer take the time to park and walk to the shop but turn around because they still hadn't unlocked their doors. I can understand being late to open a few minutes after opening time but half an hour is excessive and will guarantee you will lose business whether that's one time or repeat customers. read more

What Bohemia lacks in the coffee department, they certainly make up for in ambience, decor and service. I've visited here 2 or 3 times now, and I really like the place. It is a great spot to spend an hour or two reading and sipping. They have a great selection of couches and seating, and the staff have always been very kind and helpful. My only advice would be to step up their coffee game a bit. I don't drink lattes and fraps and all those frilly drinks. I drink coffee. Good coffee, with nothing added. Some freshly ground french press options or pour overs would be perfect for this little mountain gem. read more

Really good coffee spot in a great location in town. Super comfy inside and the staff is extra nice and very patient, which is helpful because the menu is pretty large. Pastry options are decent, but not overwhelming. The coffee...pretty good. As you can see by the menu, they seem to specialize in having lots of flavor options. That can be a blessing and a curse I think. It's probably my fault for ordering a flavored drink, but both times I've been here the coffee was overwhelmed by sweet. Not next time.
