I typically prefer local businesses especially in Asheville to chains, but this one gets a pass…read morebecause it's quite good. I've purchased many rubs, salts, spices, and sugars from them over the years and all of them have been amazing. I especially like their smoked salts. I like to bake giant chocolate chip cookies and sprinkle them with the smoked salt crystals to give them an extra layer of flavoring. You can taste anything you want such as the salts or sugars or rubs, just ask one of the associates to help you. You can smell anything you like yourself by just opening the jars and taking a nice whiff. Many items come in bags and some come in shakers. If you get something coarse you can ask for a grinder top that goes on your shaker for when you want smaller particles. I love the butchers blend general purpose seasoning for many things. My kids love the cinnamon sugar shaker with a grinder top....the put it on everything and we frequently run out. In addition to salts, spices, and sugars they have a huge tea selection. And before you scoff at the prices, just remember it takes just a tiny amount of these high quality loose leaf teas to make a cup of tea. Teas that you buy in the store are not fresh and are harvested too early, commercialized, and it requires a lot more to get the flavor you want. So these tiny bags of tea really do last a long time. I like to look up ancient tea and herbal blends online and then buy all the components here and make my own teas to try and then adjust the recipes to my liking. They often have some free samples of tea and other items to try hot or cold in the store, just ask. For me this is a store I always stop at when visiting Asheville.

Okay! I've been wanting to stop in for awhile now; today was the day that my mom & I got to go!…read more Upon first entering I was blown away by how much they packed into that space! I had a very sweet gentleman mix me up some aromatherapy while we perused the store. My husband is fighting stage 4 cancer & I was looking for some natural things to help him. I was shocked to find soursop there! I have read so much about that helping with cancer. They also had locally made fire cider which is GREAT this time of year! Jason helped us & my God- he was GREAT! He gave me local cancer survivors resources & even let me borrow a book on Immunotherapy. He was a wealth of knowledge as a cancer survivor himself. I picked up some reishi & Lions mane mushrooms, other supplements, and some things to add to my husbands regimen. I found the prices incredibly fair & some were cheaper than I've been paying at Whole Foods. I'd MUCH rather give them my money than Amazon! Everyone was so kind and helpful! I will ABSOLUTELY be back & not just to return the book! THIS is my new spot!!!

I took my time as there were many vitamins, herbal loose leave and encapsulated teas along with juices, powders, tinctures and general good for you grocery products too. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about their products and I really enjoyed my time there. It is the middle of the lunch hour and the shop is fairly busy which is always good to see as you know their products are fresher than most stores of this type. I noticed you can fill your water cooler jugs there as well. Glad I stopped in and I know I will be back when I need some products I can't find anywhere else in Winston Salem.

That is totally reasonable so we made the truck over. When we arrived however, I thought we were in the wrong place. It has an industrial feel, not a farmers market feel, and there were no markets going on outside. As a matter of fact, the only market was indoor with about a dozen or so stalls. We were disappointed, but I wanted to check it out so my husband remained in the vehicle with our dog. I looked at every market stall inside and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Having produce doesn't make something a farmers market. It just felt like walking around local grocery store. About a third of the vendors were fruits and vegetables and the rest were knick-knacks and t-shirts and miscellaneous items. Also, it was incredibly empty. I mean I understand why. I did find a new cider to try but knowing what I know now, I would most likely not make the drive again. I realize I'm not from the area, but this was no different than any local grocery stores to me.
