The restaurant is spacious, relaxing, and has a fireplace, maintaining a warm atmosphere. We were immediately asked if this was our first time, and then provided some recommendations. Food came fairly quickly - maybe a 15min wait. Server was attentive to the ongoing need for water (that's what happens when ordering the hottest level of spice). Many reviews on here talked about the chicken tikka masala - I agree with the positive comments. It was delicious. The portions are large because I was able to have two full plates and still take a lot home. Just one word of warning: be prepared to suffer if picking the hottest level of spice!

Mine didn't come out with theirs, so it was forgotten. It was busy tonight because not many places were open. We asked about my dish, and she said she would order it and it would take 10-15 minutes. My guys ate their food by the time my dish came. When it was set on the table, it was definitely not what I had in the past. I put one on my plate and it was stuffed with what I later found out from server what it was. She explained I wanted the Chicken Tikki Masala. My guys were already done eating. I said forget it, I was not wanting them to wait another 15 minutes. So I didn't eat tonight. What was brought to me did not look appealing. I waited all day for this meal, It's been a hot minute since we have been here. The guys enjoyed their dishes. My server apologized about the mistake. She was nice, and I'm sure we will return. 12/25/25

It's nice that there is a restaurant in town with fresh fish. Our server was awesome. We were going to a tiki themed place (which you should 100% try to find if you are in town) afterwards and the server shared some cool info about it when we mentioned it. I ordered fish and chips, against my better judgement, and it was just OK. I'm a fan of beer batter that builds up more than a thin crust on the fish, and this wasn't that. On top of that, the cod was a little over cooked (a bit of a theme for the other Ale's as well). That said, the flavor profile was good and their tartar sauce was on point. I had the option for seasoned fries or steak fries and opted for the steak fries to save some sodium intake. I'd probably shorten my life slightly and get the seasoned fries next time. My wife had a salad that was very similar to the other Ale's -- lots of iceberg lettuce and overcooked chicken. We also had the clam chowder, which had a good consistency but was just a touch fishy. I still enjoyed it, though. They have a pretty good selection of beer and other drinks, as well. The decor is informal and overall I liked the place. Between the two Ale's I'd probably give a slight nod to the original, but they are very similar restaurants other than the focus on seafood here.

The decor is super fun and reggae music is a beach lover's choice. The servers are great here, so friendly and careful to get it your way. We ordered from the special menu and the regular menu. Both special items were ordered, consisting of a delicious California Avocado and Swiss Cheese burger and French fries, and I ordered a large Taco Soup after asking for a tiny sample. It was a tasty soup, just like a deconstructed taco in a nicely flavored broth, with lots of sweet corn. On the regular dinner menu, I ordered the 50/50 pulled pork and beef steak sandwich. It was a very generously sized sandwich, it was made by the chef, Cat, he flavored the sandwich with a tangy and creative barbecue sauce. The waitress, Erika, was very nice, we had a good conversation, it was a rainy night and we were damp from the raindrops. Erika stoked the fire at the fireplace so that our clothes could dry off. She delivered our food promptly, and after we hung out catching up on things, I ordered a slice of the Fruit of the Forest rhubarb and raspberries pie, my classmate had a coffee. There may have been other berries in my pie, but I didn't ask about it, I just discerned the type of pie by its taste. We watched the football game, we were lucky to get the best table in the house, lol (the closest table which is situated next to the warm fireplace). It was a cozy evening, and we left right before it started raining cats and dogs. You can get to the Rock Inn via Santa Clarita by taking the San Francisquito Canyon Road, it's a scenic drive through the Angeles Forest and you pass through Lake Elizabeth and Lake Hughes before you get to the place. There's an unmarked parking lot to the side of the restaurant with an open garage structure, plus a parking lot directly across the street. It's a nice car ride if you want to have some scenery. From the north on the I-5 freeway, I took the State Route 14, then took a right on the Three Points Road to Pine Canyon Road to the Elizabeth Lake Road. If you like to have a nice meal in a historical building, the Rock Inn restaurant is a good place to start. The address of the restaurant is 17539 Elizabeth Lake Road, Lake Hughes, CA 93532-1008, if you need to use your GPS to get there. Remember to make a few stops to look at Lake Elizabeth, it's very scenic, either before or after your meal at the famous Rock Inn restaurant. You'll have an enjoyable experience and eat a nice meal.

We have been seeing ads for this place for a while around town and we decided to finally come here for our anniversary. We were greeted kindly and seated right away. The Al pastor fries was the best recommendation she had given me. I had the burger and husband had the steak. Both were cooked to perfection and had lots of flavor. Overall we had an amazing time and we will be back. Kuddos to Tiffany for a great time.

The veggies were obviously from frozen and were not very enjoyable. I spent roughly $55 for the entree plus $2 for the sautéed mushrooms which were also disappointing. All in all just not a great tasting meal. After tip and tax $70 was the total and I feel disappointed tricked. I would ask the chef to please put a little more love into your food. If you are going to sauté mushrooms, use some butter, not cooking oil. Get a little flame on your steaks to bring out the flavor and let it acclimate a little bit before you throw it on the grill so it stays juicy. Use fresh vegetables, not frozen or cooked and reheated the next day. The service was great BTW. Only I could tell she knew I wasn't enjoying my meal, which is probably why she didn't ask me how I liked it. On the other hand I had an excellent meal at Broken Bit steakhouse not far from here the day before. The chef should go there and learn something. Oh yeah and my meal was $10 less there.
