This is a beautiful place to stop by. The scenery is breathtaking! We came here for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed it. Make sure to be here early since you have to take a shuttle from the bottom of the ranch to the top. The ride was fun since the driver was giving us some history on the land. As for the brunch, it was a buffet which had a pretty good amount of food. We really enjoyed having brunch is such a beautiful place with spectacular views. The reason for the four stars is due to my bloody mary. It was not good at all. Thankfully, the waiter noticed and at the end told us he noticed we were not fans. They also have a little store where you can buy some of their alcohol and some souvenirs. Overall, the food was good and the views were one of a kind. Do yourself a favor and book a tour and a brunch here! read more

High West Distillery - Alta Ruby cocktails because I love sweet drinks and Shishito Peppers for appetizers because I hate spicy food, but these were so tasty! - Distilleries Near Me - Wanship, Utah

We had Sunday brunch at High West. Our family was greeted pleasantly and seated quickly. The choices of food on the buffet were plentiful and delicious. There was something for everyone. We were there with two children who were equally delighted with the food choices. The Bloody Mary was also exceptional. The views were breathtaking. We also enjoyed the "guided tour" on the shuttle. The driver was an old timer and quite a character. I would highly recommend The High West. read more

There is truly nothing like this place in Utah. The scenery, service and food are outstanding. This is my second time up to the Wanship location and it didn't fail to meet any expectations. This is one place you can get a quality drink in the Salt Lake area. They find the loop holes in Utah laws and we love it! Some people next to us were talking about the steep prices of drinks, but when they tasted them and finished they understood why. Each time we come we arrive thirty minutes before our tour. This gives us time to take the shuttle up to the top, checkin, and grab a drink at the bar before it begins. The tour guides are knowledgeable and always have smiles on their faces.. I mean they work with whiskey all day how bad could it be?! After the tour we head to the tasting room to sample their signature whiskeys as well as their seasonal specials. The campfire is my least favorite.. but the rest are delicious! Once you're done tasting it's a good idea to head over to the restaurant. The food is unique, fresh and scrumptious. The menu consists of small plates, charcuterie for sharing, and hearty main dishes. We enjoy sitting on the patio with food and a drink while over looking the valley below. It's picturesque! After lunch walk the property or play corn hole and horse shoes! This place is my all time favorite. I wish they had a bar setup like this in the city! We'd be regulars for sure! read more

The hostess asked if we wanted a table inside and we said yes. She sat us at a table in the doorway and the cold wind and rain came in. When our waiter finally came by we ordered drinks that were horrible. The food was all cold. All looked pretty but cold. Our waiter did nothing but talk to his friends and other tables, and three times we asked for a check and were ignored. Two people, horrible drinks and bad service does not equal $151.00. read more

Holy cow this place is a beautiful gem. I've been wanting to go for years then finally did for my birthday. Their food was almost as good as their whiskey (which is really saying something). The tour was lovely and the tasting was informative and fun. read more

This place did not dissapoint! Stunning view with beautiful venue. Food was comparable, we got the fried zucchini and cheese curds and that was my fav. Also delicious was the bison patty melt and brisket hash. Would love to come again! Great for a big group but make a reservation! read more

It was a long drive to get there, but worth it had a very nice tour had a great tasting experience, and the guide was very friendly and helpful all along the way, even learned a few things, they sell some special additions. You can only get at the distillery, if I lived in Salt Lake City, I would spend more time here. read more

It was quite busy when we went for lunch. Our server, Sterling, was awesome. He provided A1 hospitality to us and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Bison Patty Melt. The bread was delicious as well as the juicy meat. My two companions enjoyed theirs as well. One had the Quinoa salad and the other the Shrimp and Grits. It was a beautiful fall day and the setting couldn't have been better.I look forward to returning soon! read more

Our tour guide Dan was great, very knowledgeable and entertaining. Would definitely recommend the tour. Now for lunch, don't do it.....food and service were horrible and overpriced. Our table was surrounded flies and other critters. Chicken quesadilla had very little chicken and was soggy. Chicken sandwich was soggy and fries were cold. Sad because they have a captive audience with the tours and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Would give restaurant one and tour five stars. read more

Good seasoned fries. Trout is fantastic. Sandwhiches are good but nothing special. Flight of whiskeys are nice.

What an organization! Met friends for brunch and did not know what to expect. Clean. Beautiful. Delicious food. Lots of healthy options too. Views are amazing. Quite the experience. We will be back! read more

Great good and tastings, but definitely pricey. Make sure you call and get the exact address, our map took us to a random dirt road that is only accessible to 4x4s. Luckily we saw the sign before we went up the road too far and called and got the correct address. The staff are very friendly and Bill the shuttle driver is very funny. read more

I'm not sure how I JUST found out about this place, but I'm so happy we tried it! We can for Sunday brunch on Easter and it was amazing. The weather happened to be warm enough to sit outside, and I'm so happy we did. We got the high west flight, mimosa, eggs Benedict, burger, and pancakes to share. All was so amazing! I'm not very into whiskey, but my boyfriend tried them and loved it. If the weather permits it, request to sit outside. read more

I had been here once previously after shooting at the Blue Sky Lodge clay shooting range and the service and food at that time was top tier. I took family from out of town on 7/6/2024 for a casual lunch. Atmosphere was outstanding, yet service and food was ok-acceptable, but definitely underwhelming for a "destination" food stop. It was fairly busy, but our server was lost/gone for far too long while trying to order appetizers and main courses and the fact that we sat with empty water and cocktail glasses for over an hour was frustrating. Most of the entrees were well received, but nothing you couldn't get at a corner bar. Will be back, but expectations are low. read more

Beware of the criminal service fee activity. They say the distillery tour is $10 each however they add untold charges to my bill for two: a $4.00 service fee and $1.00 order fee to your bill and only take credit cards. I asked to pay cash so I would not have to pay these ridiculous fees... they said no. They should be criminally charged for stealing and not telling or marketing these fees in advanced. Vey disappointed with there devious behavior ..... on a positive note food was good and it was billed without service fee and order fee... go figure! read more

Great time, beautiful facility! Would come again for sure. Check out the gift shop too

Best distillery this side of the Mississippi We visited the location in Wanship. The distillery is set within beautiful grounds of a larger ranch. Mr. Bill drove us up the hill from the parking lot, providing insights during the short drive about this location. Tour was great for this young yet quickly and vastly expanding distillery. The tour was free and somewhere around 30-40 minutes. We ended in the tasting room where we sampled three of their whiskies, though there is a fee here. A nice gift store offers several types of goodies you can buy. Do make reservations in advance. Beautiful grounds, exciting craft whiskies - a nice afternoon, read more

We dined at the distillery last evening for their Thursday Supper Club. What a great experience. The staff was very welcoming and the service was top notch...from the time we were seated until the last bite of dessert was gone. The meal was served family style for the six of us and the portions were spot on. It came in three courses with salad, main course, and dessert. My favorite was the flank steak with chimi churi. The cocktails were very good as well. We chose several and shared around the table. Sorry for the lack of pics. I didn't realize that I had left my phone in the truck until we had taken the shuttle up the hill. We will definitely be back! read more

Stopped here while visiting Park City. We love High West whiskey and bourbon so we had to try the distillery. First they sat us upstairs in a room by ourselves which was not a good atmosphere. We asked to be moved and they moved us tonthentanle we had reserved outside. Outside was much better and we enjoyed our dinner. Food and drinks were good. read more

Beautiful distillery with lots of options for drinks. They also had canned custom drinks to just grab and go or grab and sit! read more

The tour was fun and educational, and our guide was very knowledgeable. The atmosphere at the distillery is damn cute and we had a lot of fun even though we're not whiskey connoisseurs. The whiskey was strong but tasty, my favorite is the Campfire, and our cheeseboard was a delicious accompaniment to the flights. 10/10 recommend, 100% would go back. 5 stars to the great people working in the taproom as well. Amazing experience! Advice - arrive early. We had a scheduled tour and we're just a bit late as you need to take a shuttle up to the distillery. Mr. Bill gives an excellent history with great stories on the ride up. Gorgeous views and lovely location. Staff was amazing! They went out of their way to answer questions and help with needs. Shout out to the tasting room team. They were fantastic. Recommend the Archive tasting. Worth the $$. Played a round of cornhole on their breathtaking grounds. Then took a walk to their lookout point. Worth a visit. Book distillery tour early. Cannot wait to come back!!! read more

Came for the distillery tour! Super fun and best of all free. You only have to pay for samples afterward. A flight of 5 was $23. This is currently the ONLY place in Utah you can have more than one drink on the table at a time. They went through a 3 year process to get a special license to do so that's awesome. The tour was very informative but hard to hear at times if you aren't standing in front of the guide. Learned a ton and the building is beautiful. It's on private land and you need to catch the shuttle to get there. Be sure to make reservations a few weeks ahead of time as they do fill up quickly. Great for family and friends visiting from out of state. I didn't know they had a brunch but you can also make a reservation for that and it's $40/person for a buffet style. Next time we will try that! read more

Beautiful distillery with beautiful scenery. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly ; from the shuttle driver who takes you from the parking area up to the distillery to the employees in the shop where you buy whiskey and accouterments. Fun tour, great tasting room, extraordinary food. I recommend eating here before you take the tour. Plenty of opportunity to drink good whiskey. You don't want that on an empty stomach. We happened upon this idea accidentally. You have to make a reservation for the tour. We did and we ended up being late, over a 90 minute drive. We checked in and they let us know we can get in the two o'clock tour of we wanted to wait an hour. Perfect time to have lunch. Great service, waiter recommended great drink and meal choices. Recommend charcutery for an appetizer, rainbow chowder and buffalo/beef burger. Smoke Signal whiskey cocktail was delicious. Expert tour guide and beautiful distillery. I learned a lot about whiskey. Great tasting room experience. Very knowledgeable hostess. The only place in Utah where one person can have more than one alcohol drink in front of them at once. Utah law requires that you pay for each whiskey taste, so no free drinks like most tasting rooms in every other state. (By the way, Brigham Young operated the first distillery in the state). One of the funnest experiences I've had in many years, and I'm not even much of a drinker. Highly recommend!! read more

Food was amazing and service was perfect as well. Our waiter, Robbie (I believe) needs to get so much credit for our great experience. He gave us great recommendations and brought our drinks out in less than a minute. I got a salad with beets and quinoa, as well as a side of gnocchi because I am in love with gnocchi. It was the best gnocchi I have ever eaten-- and I get it everywhere it is offered. I will recommend this place to all and will be returning next time we are on vacation! read more

On our visit to Park City, we booked a tour of the distillery. We followed the directions as given on the High West Distillery website. We recieved a reservation confirmation. On advice from our concierge, we tried to verify our reservation by calling the distillery. We never reached a live person and left multiple message as prompted. We did not recieved a response. When we arrived at the distillery in Wanship, we were informed that we did not have a tour reservation but were welcomed into the restaurant. When confronted with our efforts to confirm our reservation, they said that they were too busy to respond and challenged the validity of our claim. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. read more

I don't think there are words to describe the beauty of this place. A month later and I'm still thinking about my glorious day at High West. Located in beautiful Utah, High West is a Mecca for whiskey lovers. Having a lot of family in Utah made my visit extra special and now I know where I'll be spending my next vacation. Located up on a mountain, being a High West makes you feel like you are in heaven, literally. I enjoyed delicious cocktails, a magnificent Sunday brunch, whiskey flights, a distillery tour and even a glass of champagne. Went on a Friday afternoon in the off season. No problem getting a table. Wife ordered the salmon, which she liked. The squash was very greasy so she couldn't eat it. I had the burger, which the waiter stated was the most popular item. It was edible but dry and disappointing. Fries were good. Had an old fashioned whiskey. Very strong. I was so impressed with my latest visit to HW! As a vegetarian I really appreciated the delicious Pozole option with homemade corn tortillas- wow! I love Pozole and it is so rare to find a veggie version. It was so hearty with just the right amount of spice. And I definitely recommend starting with the Shishito peppers- these are a unique twist offering the peppers two wats- one with a tasty spice rub and the other in a light tempura-like batter (I wasn't sure about that but it was tasty!) Service was great as well. read more
