Was NOT expecting the experience I got -- what a hidden gem! When you arrive, you park at the bottom of a roadway and hop on a shuttle that takes you up. There were three shuttles running the Sunday we went, and our group of six had made reservations beforehand (highly recommend doing that!). The ride up is worth the trip alone -- super scenic, and our shuttle driver was fantastic. He shared a ton of info about how everything works and how long they've been in business, which kicked the whole experience off on the right foot. Once you're up top, there's a distillery and a restaurant. We headed to the restaurant side for brunch, and while it's a smaller buffet, the food was absolutely incredible -- every single thing was top-notch. The shrimp might've been the biggest I've ever seen at a buffet! They also had brisket, eggs Benedict, fresh fruit, and a whole spread of desserts -- and that's just the stuff I couldn't stop raving about. Best part? We never felt rushed for a second. The staff were super patient and genuinely let us relax and catch up, which was exactly what our group of friends came for. It's a bit pricier than your average spot, but for the experience and the food, I'd do it again in a heartbeat -- this is a special-occasion kind of place. Next time, I'm determined to do a distillery tour! Our group was big and they were fully booked for the rest of the day, so we missed out this round -- but that just gives me a reason to come back. read more

While looking up things to do in Park City, I came across this tour. I'm a big whiskey fan, so it seemed like an easy choice. What was really cool is I left with a whole new appreciation for gin! The tour was great. I wish I could remember our guide's name because he was awesome. He explained everything in a way that kept it interesting and never felt like a boring history lesson. Learning about Utah's alcohol history all the way through the 2002 Olympics was something I wasn't expecting. They also shared how Brigham Young enjoyed whiskey, shut down other distilleries while allowing his own to continue operating, and that it was later described as being for "medicinal purposes." Learn something new everyday! Oh,'I was also there for "medicinal purposes" It was also really cool to learn how they distill and blend their whiskey and hear the story behind the brand. ( no spoilers here) I even found out I've been drinking whiskey all wrong!! The price was not bad, especially since the tasting is included. Some of the other distilleries in the area charge extra for that, so I thought it was well worth it. They also have a restaurant that serves brunch, we went on a Sunday. We didn't eat there this time, but we'll definitely be stopping in the next time we're in Park City. Overall, this was just a really fun experience. The places was beautiful! It doesn't take up your whole day, but it's enough to feel like you got out and did something. If you're in Park City with friends, or you're able to sneak away from the kids for a couple of hours, I'd definitely recommend adding this to your trip. read more

We thought perhaps we were driving in the wrong direction, but sure enough, the distillery is nestled in the hillside of a large ranch. It oozes character from the moment you have on a shuttle ride up the mountain learning about the history from "Wild" Bill. We ended up grabbing some food and drinks and the menu was light but the food was solid, with incredibly friendly service. We didn't have time for a tour, but judging from the grounds it has to be a fun time. read more

We had so much fun on the High West Library Room Distillery tour. Our guide, Cal, was fantastic. The library was beautiful and we each got a different flight so we could try as many options as possible. What a fun way to celebrate a birthday for The Mister! Editing to add that we had lunch at the restaurant and it was fantastic. We ordered the smoked trout dip and it was delightful. The chicken BBQ nachos had tons of toppings. They did not skimp! And the French fries were excellent. Our one regret is that we didn't get the corn ribs. They looked amazing on the table next to ours. Next time! read more

Full disclosure, I'm not a bourbon connoisseur, but I had a great time here! The property is very nice, you catch a shuttle from the parking area up to the distillery. First stop was the restaurant, which was nice and had a solid menu selection along with drinks of course. The food was very good, I tried the bison dip. Afterwards we took a tour, which was really interesting. Our tour guide was great! After the tour you enter the tasting room to taste your selected flight. Overall it was a nice experience! I'd recommend checking it out. read more

Came in from Vegas to celebrate my birthday. It was so nice! We took the tour which was very interesting and informative. What a process for whiskey. We had lunch and did whiskey tasting! The flights were reasonable and very tasty! We did the $55 flight and two other tastings from the 2nd flight. Those were flavorful and darker. For lunch we had the corn ribs which were delicious. I had linguine with pistachios, squash and cherry tomatoes. It was very delicious the pistachios gave it a lite crunch but not too much. My husband's Reuben sandwich was good in flavor and tender. The fries had a hint of rosemary and were crunchy. The ambience was welcoming and pleasant. Everyone was uplifting and the space was read more

It's one of the most beautiful places to eat in the Park City area with exquisite architecture and reclaimed wood. Our server, Sterling, was excellent. We tried a few new cocktails and the Baked Brie along with an order of Smoked Chicken Nachos. All wonderful! The only downside is the noise level. There are only hard surfaces which magnify the shouts from the boisterous tipsy patrons. read more

High West Distillery is a beautiful place to visit if you're ever in the greater Salt Lake area and thirsty for some Utahn whiskey. Utah's first legal distillery since the prohibition! Open since 2004, I have been a fan of their whiskey for many years and since I average one visit to SLC each year to visit one of my besties, I figured one of these days I needed to come here. So glad I finally did! The Wanship distillery location (there's also a saloon in Park City) is a half hour away from Park City and 45 minutes out of SLC, not including traffic and weather conditions of course. They're open 11 am - 3 pm Wednesday through Sunday as of my writing this review. I would recommend as always putting in a reservation, but as we were only two people the day we decided to come up we didn't and it ended up being okay. We got to the parking area around 11 am when they open, and a shuttle driver took us up the hill to the distillery (with colorful commentary), which I gather is the only way to get up there now without special permission. We ended up spending a half day here, staying long enough for cocktails, a 75 minute tour, whiskey tasting which concludes the tour, and another round of drinks and appetizers. They have a full lunch/brunch menu, but we had a hearty diner breakfast before coming up and were still not hungry by early afternoon. I loved the cheese curds and fried zucchini appetizer! Everything was fantastic, from the educational, hands-on components of the distillery tour, to the perfectly presented tasting flight. The view must be something else in winter, so maybe I need to come back for that! We came in April of this year and the snow was all dried up, but it was still a very pretty drive and ambiance during our visit. I highly recommend a visit when you're next in the area! read more

Views: 5/5 High West Distillery has incredible scenery all around. This distillery is a dream for anyone who loves gazing out into nature and enjoying a peaceful getaway Service: 5/5 Our server was so kind and accommodating. They even arranged a custom made plate from the chef for our gluten-free friend Food: 4/5 The food was good! We especially loved the freshly carved meat, along with the salad bar, main bar, and dessert bar. The brunch buffet offered a great variety of options. Drinks: 5/5 High West Distillery had SO many fun drink options. Everyone's drink looked so good. I can't wait to come back and try more! These drinks are perfect for the summer. Cost: 4/5 A bit pricier than your average meal, but well worth it for the beautiful views, friendly service, and buffet style dining experience that's more rare in Utah Dogs: Plus they allow dogs in the outdoor seating area, which makes for an even more convenient and fun visit read more

My son and I did the distillery tour when I visited him in Salt Lake City. The ride from the parking lot down below to the site higher up was full of fun stories of the ranch and the area. The tour was interesting and our guide was knowledgeable and interesting. We did the middle flight of tastings and enjoyed several whiskeys. My son bought a bottle while I bought one of the candles and a beautiful iridescent empty bottle since I wasn't checking a bag on my flight. The view is amazing and we plan to come back to hang out in the patio. Be sure to check times for eating. We had planned to tour and then have lunch but the restaurant had closed. read more

The service was very attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is incredible. A beautiful view of the mountains through all of the windows. Nice gift shop. You park and then take a shuttle up to the distillery/restaurant so allow 10 minutes before your reservation. We did not tour the distillery but had a wonderful, relaxed lunch. Don't skip the baked pimento dip! Everything was great! Loved the cocktails too! The gin cocktail is really good and welcome for those of us that are not bourbon fans! Everyone else enjoyed bourbon cocktails and I understand the 2025 dram is fabulous! read more

Drove up from Park City. Parked and took the shuttle from the Lounge to the Distillery. The shuttle driver with the cowboy hat and big beard was a hoot. Beautiful grounds! Went to the bar for a whiskey flight. I enjoyed the flight and talking with the bartender Bryan who also gave us some tips about the area and turned us on to a cider bottle shop in Kamas. Five star bar experience. After the bar we headed to the gift shop. Tried to engage the clerk there who seemed pissed off about something. Tried to ask about shipping whiskey but she didn't give a darn. Ok I guess I won't buy the $150 bottle then. 1 star for the gift shop and the angry lady. We will try the tour next time and avoid the gift shop. read more

The venue deems itself as far out of the way and exclusive, but the experience is at least one of those things. Okay we can take a shuttle to the restaurant, cool, fine. But the menu and service is disappointing, at best. For the price point I would expect to not serve my own water, again, fine if the food made up for it. The menu is not appetizing in description, less so on plate and even less on palate. Just don't waste your time going there read more

Great food options, friendly staff, and such calming ambiance with the mountain views. Loved the location most!

Beautiful drive up to the distillery and restaurant. The highlight was actually our bus driver from the parking lot to the distillery where he gave us a quick background on the distillery and the ranch . Unfortunately we did not plan ahead enough and book a tour, that's ok. Got to check out the giftshop and the restaurant. We already ate so didn't need the brunch buffet. A dram and cocktail worked great and enjoyed rhe nice weather and rustling of the leaves in the wind. Very relaxing. read more

Review: 4.2/5 Stars Ambiance and Atmosphere: 4/5 High West Distillery has a cool old west, rustic, cowboy bar vibe with unique decor like mason jar lighting, a giant paella pan, and interesting signage. The dim lighting adds to the atmosphere. I imagine the mason jar accent wall looks amazing at night. There was little noise during our visit as there wasn't too many there, but thanks to high ceilings and decorated walls, I cannot imagine it getting overly loud even when full capacity. However, the bar stools were tight and heavy, making bar seating less comfortable, especially for larger individuals. Table seating was OK, but not overly comfortable. Service: 5/5 The hosts were welcoming, and our server was really friendly and knowledgeable about the specialty cocktails. She was timely and gave great recommendations on drinks without being pushy. Food and Drinks: 4/5 We only stopped in for drinks, but the prices were pretty reasonable considering the touristy area. Cleanliness: 3/5 The place was clean, but don't expect it to be spotless--it's got a rustic feel. The glasses, tables, and chairs were all clean and well-maintained. Accessibility and Location: 4/5 Parking seemed mostly street-based, though we walked from nearby. It's not on main street but easy to spot with its matching old west exterior. Overall Experience: If you're in Park City, UT, this spot is a must-visit for that rustic, mountain town vibe. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you prefer more modern places, but we enjoyed it enough to want to come back and maybe try some food next time. read more

We were a party of seven so we had our own private room. We were celebrating an anniversary so it was so perfect. The space it self is very spacious and lively. Lots of fun to be had. The cocktails are endless. The bartenders have a nightly special that they do every evening. They made a espresso martini using their whiskey. It was so good. My favorite part about it was they put some flaked sea salt on top of the almost whipped cream topping. delicious. We had smoked chicken wings which everyone enjoyed. Very well done. The Brussels sprouts were so tender and they cooked them with some of the stem greens which were awesome. A nice spice with the chili oil made it so satisfying. The elf meatballs were on one of the best polenta I ever had. So creamy and satisfying. I had oyster mushroom tacos so yummy and satisfying. They had a pork schnitzel that was tender and delicious. Good place to go wonderful desserts lots of wonderful cocktails fun had by all. Our server was so awesome. He made sure everyone was taken care of. read more

High West Distillery is an engaging way to spend a day if you're in SLC or Park City. Hidden in the hills of Wanship, the distillery shuttles you up to the restaurant and your. The shuttle ride is fun and the person driving is charismatic. The tour is a blast! It's interactive because you can smell the different ingredients that go into whiskey throughout the whole process. The whiskey ambassadors are knowledgeable, fun, and thorough. If you take the tour with Tom, he will be able to answer any question and he's super fun! If you purchase the whiskey tasking after the tour, you will have a blast and be able to taste almost any High West's whiskeys--even the ones that are out of season and some of the discontinued lines. The restaurant is large and inviting. The food is wonderful, and everything tastes as though it's infused with whiskey. (Yes, the restaurant is kid-friendly.) The French fries are flavorful and crispy. The wings were the best I've ever had and the peach BBQ sauce is my favorite BBQ sauce now. The pesto chicken sandwich was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The salad had an orange vinaigrette added the perfect mixture of sweet and acidic flavoring. My boyfriend got the brisket roll and said it amazing. The bread was thick, and the meat was perfectly cooked. The onion aioli was his favorite flavor on the sandwich. The restaurant service was fast, competent, and quality. Our server, Sterling, was outstanding. I had so much fun that I am planning on reserving a tour for my parents' anniversary! read more

First off, the tour, Dan, was amazing! So knowledgeable about their process. A great story. Worth every dollar. Now for lunch. Food was average at best but the service, including management, was horrendous. Did not catch her name, the manager, wish I did. Quite obviously they did not want to be there. Everyone's drinks ran dry before he ever came back around to check on us. We asked for the bill to be split, after him telling us he could split it up to six ways, and then tells us "oh I can't split the bill. It will take too long." He did figure out how to get it split and then double charged us on half of the items we ordered. He said "I thought I took those off" with attitude. When we spoke to the manager she said, "did he get it fixed" and yes he did for her to respond "oh well" and walked away. Quite a bad look in front of quite a few people in the lobby area. Go for the tour not the food! read more

My husband and I wanted to do something a little different for our anniversary this year, so we booked the whiskey and chocolate pairing at High West Distillery & Tasting Room. Our appointment was for 11 a.m., but like many visitors to Park City, we accidentally headed to their downtown location first. When we realized the tasting was held at the distillery just outside town, we called ahead, worried we had missed our chance. To our surprise, the staff could not have been more accommodating. Not only did they reassure us that we could still enjoy a tasting, but they went above and beyond by arranging a private experience with "Dazzling Dan," one of their incredible team members. Dan was an absolute delight--knowledgeable, entertaining, and passionate about High West's history and craftsmanship. We learned so much and enjoyed every minute of the tasting. The setting itself is stunning--nestled in a beautiful, scenic area that feels like a true escape. What began as a bit of a hectic morning turned into one of the highlights of our anniversary trip. We ended up staying for lunch, which was just as memorable as the tasting--delicious food, warm service, and the same rustic charm that makes High West so special. We truly didn't even know this location existed, and now we're already planning to return. Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast or just looking for a unique and fun experience in Park City, High West Distillery is an absolute must. Five stars all the way! read more

We loved the tour! Our tour guide was super knowledgeable (go Tess!). We've seen High West in CO but always walked by it and when the midnight dram comes out, it flys off the shelves. We started with a few apps which were the chicken wings and the trout dip. Both of those were so good, all the flavors hitting just right. We then had some bison tacos which were hearty and rich. As far as drinks, we chose a few cocktails. They have a great selection, my fav being the "Paper Plane". If you're in the Park City area I highly suggest making this spot part of your fun. Had lunch at the distillery. Loved that we got to taste whiskeys during lunch as well. Absolutely loved the Prisoner's Share and the Mid Winter Night's Dream. Both were Flavorful and Smooth. The Prisioner's was great neat but add a couple of drops of water and it completely transformed into something so unbelievable and tasty. Had to pick up a bottle to take home. We ordered the tacos and the chicken sandwich, as well as the five bean chili. Everything was very delicious, high-quality and felt like you were being treated to a special homemade meal. The five bean chili was tomatillo based and unlike anything else in the chili realm that either my husband or myself had tried before. This was the highlight of the meal. I even tried to replicate it when I came home The scenic views at the distillery were awesome. Please not that directions in maps are to a parking lot where you must park and take the provided shuttle up the hill to the distillery.
