The bar is beautiful, and I like how the restaurant opened in the early summer. It gave the employees time to rehearse and proactive their service. Food is just OK, we have been there four times. The seafood enchiladas are wonderful. The lobster bisque and clam chowder are terrible: too much flour. The oysters are mostly breading, and only three. I've been here multiple times for happy hour. The 2 bar tenders this visit must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Snotty, shaking heads as if annoyed when all I did was walk up to the bar to order a drink as ai waited for my party. Hostess came to set up table next to me and as a courtesy I let her know there was a sticky spot on the table (she was setting menus down for a reservation). I was POLITE....and as she walked away she made eye rolls at another young staff member who reacted in kind. The place was good I enjoyed the location I went with friends as I was visiting out of the area our server was so nice however he kept forgetting stuff. The bartender messes up my friends father in laws lemon drop by putting salt instead of sugar on the rim and it wasn't a great drink. Service was decent but definitely overheard others having issues and when we needed our server he was no where to be found... I enjoyed the sashimi as it was very fresh and I tried the crab garlic breadstick o would rate it a 5 out of 10. Two times I've come on Friday's and waitstaff has not been great. Hard to understand if it's the waiters themselves or the structure of the restaurant. Long wait for refill, waitstaff seems to have tables spread across vs sections causing issues. During my meal this past Friday, I heard the table behind us speaking to our waitress about how long the wait times were the previous Friday and how they were seated at 6 PM and didn't receive their food until 8 PM. I'm sorry but no restaurant especially this one is worth a 2hr wait. Another issue I encountered during my meal was that I ordered sushi rolls. The sushi never arrived and at the end of my meal when I let our waitress know, she gave a confused response and asked if I was sure until she ultimately removed the sushi from my bill. I read the reviews before going and thought I would check it out for myself. Took some friends with me to get their opinions as well. Was promptly greeted by a wonderful hostess and are waiter was well informed and answered all our questions and even provided us with tasting of their gumbo. The both soups were very good. Plenty of lobster in the bisque and plenty of clams in the chowder. The sushi, calamari, edamame and the enchilada plate was very good Oh and the ice tea is really good. The atmosphere of eating seafood in "Land-locked Arizona" was great; clean tables and seating and bathrooms, with the midcentury decor and blue and white tile matchy matchy seat backs. The service started slow but after ordering drinks and food it was consistent checking up on our drinks and food quality. Maine Lobster, diverse selection of oysters, mussels and jumbo shrimp...its worth the price, remember Arizonans, we dont live near the ocean. This is a new location, and I know they need to work out the kinks, and obviously it's noticed. We had a reservation. We got there on time, they said about 5 minutes. Then it lasted longer, we did like the ambiance and the look of the restaurant. When I went back about 10 minutes later to check the the wait the excuse was, we have a big group, so we don't want the kitchen to get behind so you have to wait another 10 minutes or so. So about 25-30 minutes after our reservation we finally get seated. Mind you the restaurant was not crowded. The server comes to us and asks us if we want any drinks. We ordered some drinks and ask for water and also asked, do you serve any bread? Yes, we have sourdough bread. So after about 10 minutes or so the drinks come, still no waters and no bread yet. We ask, can we get some water, please. Had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for the waters to finally come. So by now we have drinks in waters and we're about 45 minutes after our reservation. Had to ask for bread again. Here is the funny thing I get called on my cell phone as I'm sitting in a restaurant at the table from the restaurant saying "we have a reservation for you are you coming?" Really?? I'm like, I'm already seated at your restaurant. Oh, sorry. We ordered some appetizers and the server didn't seem like she knew what the oysters named so should I keep on looking at the menu on how to spell them. I know it's new, so we're giving everybody a break. Once we have all the appetizers and we're almost done eating she finally takes our dinner order. We ordered the chilean sea bass with parmesan risotto, cioppino, fish and ships and short ribs. The Short Ribs we're good, the Chilean Seabass was good with the parmesan risotto, now here where it goes bad. The Cioppino has so salty couldn't even eat it, same with the Fish so salty. We explained how salty the dish was to the server and this was her excuse, couldn't believe it. That's how the recipe is so. No apology, no trying to fix the issue. Just says, that's the way it is sorry basically. I told her, no, you really need to explain this to your kitchen or to a manager. This is not acceptable, and she said, okay and walked away. Never came back with a manager or anybody else to resolve this issue, disappointing. The next time we saw her, it was giving us the check Obviously they don't know how to handle issues. It's only been a week since they were open. But but you should get a manager or so the Chef to come over to the table. Also, when you hire people, they're supposed to be experienced in some degree, right? This sounds like they're not. More training is definitely needed. So I gave this restaurant 3 stars, really should be 2.5 max. This is based on the drinks being okay, the appetizers were okay and 2 out of the 4 meals were okay. There is a lot of potential here but you need to clean up your service at the entrance and table side and food quality on all dishes. We might come back one more time to see if anything is better, but not anytime soon. read more

My daughter lives in Phoenix so this one isn't too far a drive but it is so....worth it! My daughter and I came for a girls night and it did not disappoint! The food, every single morsel, was so good! We just sat at the bar and grazed for hours. lol. We started with the scallops rockefeller, so creamy and delicious and rich. I love the bread crumbs. yum. This place is located in the complex with City Hall. It looks like a newer development, very clean and safe area. The restaurant is modern and sleek, and the service was excellent. The mussels needed salt and seasoning, and the cioppino had a strange unpleasant flavor. The yellowtail roll was pretty good. We ordered 2 cocktails that took over 20 minutes to come out, and they were both not what we ordered, so we returned them. We also got the wrong sushi roll and had to let the server know the one we got was not yellowtail but ahi tuna. He did not know the difference between them. We are so pleased to have High Tide in Goodyear. It's nice to finally have other options other than unhealthy fast food joints that are littered throughout our neighborhoods. We have visited this location now five times and each time is better. Larry, who works the bar, along with two other gentlemen always takes care of our orders promptly and efficiently. Everyone works well together and it's noticeable. The portions are great, fresh and delicious. Makes my mouth water. We have never had anything that didn't taste great. We always get treated well by the staff. We were greeted at the door by a cheerful hostess, and then again at our table within a few minutes by our server, Celeste. She was knowledgable regarding the menu options, offered two of our guests GF menus when she realized the kind of food they were requesting and the questions they were asking. She made great recommendations and had just the right amount of upselling (which were great suggestions as it turned out!) - Every one of us loved our dinners (Cioppino, poke chips, Spinach salad with salmon as protein, and a Salmon dinner dish) - everything was prepared as ordered. After finishing our snacks, food was served without clearing the dishes so the table was a mess. Person serving the dinner would not take the dirty dishes when leaving as "it is not my job". We just stacked the dirty dishes and eat around them. Food was hot, but not served at the same time. Halibut sandwich was delivered 15 minutes after our first dinner item was served. I ate dinner here two days in a row. First night we had the calamari. It was good, I wished it was a little crispy. Then I tried the enchiladas Del Mar, really good if your open to a little fishy. We started with Calamari...not the little rings or small squid; calamari steak strips that were tender, lightly crisped exterior. I had sea bass and the hubs had tide roast; a mix of crab, crawfish, clams etc in a citrus brandy tomato cream sauce. My sea bass was done just right. It had a nice crusted bottom with moist flaky meat. Service was top notch! Rubi took care of us. She was attentive, advised us on dishes and we were never left wondering where she was. We had been to High Tide Goodyear one other time. We sat at the bar for drinks and apps. We had a nice time and left saying we need to come back for dinner. Last night we did and had an incredible evening. Our server Shelby was fantastic, drinks were terrific and the food was excellent. We had calamari, crab cakes, sea bass, and halibut all very good. We also met the owners Chris & Kim, really nice people. We had such a good time we are planning our next night out. My husband and I absolutely loved high tide... Gilbert!! Drive there all the way from Goodyear at least twice a month. When I found out that high tide was coming to Goodyear, I couldn't wait!! I tried to like the cooking three times. Absolutely hated the food, food is always too salty, why can't someone from Gilbert over haul this restaurant before it closes down.
