This is a beautiful new restaurant and we recently experienced it on the second day it was open. We did not realize that it was only the second day, but it explained the slow service. We had a fantastic waiter who came by frequently. He noted because it was only their second day that things were still getting worked out in the kitchen. We didn't mind the wait and we think it was our waiter that made the difference. We were there for happy hour and enjoyed ice cold beer. Our appetizers were calamari and may I say it was excellent. So much so that we ordered a second round of it. We each had a cup of clam chowder which rivaled clam chowder that we've enjoyed in San Francisco and Boston. The only issue we had with the clam chowder was we thought it could've been hotter. It was served warm and cooled as we ate it. Our 2nd appetizer- the crabcake was shared betweenthe four of us, we thought it was OK - it had a bit too much lemon. Doesn't mean that we wouldn't order it on another visit to give another chance. Can I talk to you about the bread? You could have just a meal out of that hot sourdough bread and butter. Really really good. Lastly, we ordered edamame w a spicy finish. While we only enjoyed the cold beer -the bar is a sight. Just beautiful and heavily stocked with premium liquors. This will be a go to restaurant to impress our out of town visitors. We are sure to be regulars here!!! read more

Had a great lunch here. Nice to see a seafood restaurant on the west side of the valley. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the place was exceptionally clean. Our bartender Vince was great. We filled ourselves up on the ceviche, crab cakes, bang bang shrimp, and cioppino. All of it was great. Can't wait to go back read more

My husband and I joined my friends for my best friends birthday here on June 23rd. We were a group of 10 people total. My husband and I both ordered the 16oz Prime New York medium and when it came out it was near well done. There was barely any pink. When we told the manager if we could please have them remade she argued that the steaks were medium. When they clearly weren't. Everyone at the table agreed that they were almost well done. Why was it so hard for the manager to just say, "I apologize for that we will get them remade to what you ordered" ? Once she took the plates of steak in her hands she looked at them and said "YUP medium!" Really??? She said they would be out right away and that was a lie. It took well over 30 minutes for our steaks to come out and by that time everyone at the table was done eating. Our whole group was very disappointed in the service. Also not even one of the steaks was taken off our bill for their mess up and making us wait over half an hour for them to be remade. We spent near $200 for just my husband and I for terrible service from the manager and an okay steak. We won't be returning. If you do come here and want your steak medium I would suggest ordering it rare to save yourself the headache. read more

Well it's not bad, but not great. We went in a Thursday around Noon and there was maybe 8 people in the entire restaurant. The service was good I think in part because there was nobody there to slow them down. We had the calamari sticks, fish tacos, and the halibut sandwich. Again, nothing was bad, but it wasn't great. The batter on the fish for both the tacos and the sandwich was very bland. The tacos were just in a basic tortilla, not even grilled and the weird part is it came with white rice and a bowl of Refried beans or some kind of bean dish. I've never been to a restaurant where they serve that with fish tacos, unless it was a Mexican restaurant. The beans were terrible. The white rice was bland and again the tacos were just OK. The fries came out as basic frozen french fries that looked like McDonald's fries, but definitely not as good. The atmosphere was rough. They literally played Perry Como type music from the 50s it made it feel like a old folks retirement home and at the time we were the youngest people in there and we are in our late 40s. I would love to see this place succeed, but based on what we saw today, I would rather go across the street to the Stillery or copper and Sage. We love that this place is expanding, but honestly, that place is not somewhere that I would go to again. Sorry... read more

we were looking forward to dining at High Tide, Goodyear. Here is why we were very disappointed. Went during happy hour. Ordered a bowl of Lobster Bisque. Server suggests we try a sample first because many customers refuse the soup. the sample tasted like cheese soup--no lobster or sherry taste at all. Not one scrap of lobster in the sample. We thanked her for the heads up and ordered a bowl of clam chowder. Once again she suggested we try it first. The sample was very salty and had no clam taste at all. Our next choice was ceviche. Once again we were advised to try it first because of the number of refused dishes. On to our third choice. The happy hour menu says oysters on the half shell, 2 dollars, chefs choice. We ordered a dozen and asked what oysters we were getting. Server said pick what you want. We choose from the four varieties on the menu and they were good. When we got the bill, the oysters were $4.50 each. when I asked why they were not $2.00 like the menu states, she said those are only for Blue Points. Very deceptive and like a Bait and Switch scam. So we ordered an entree, fish and chips, and were told they were out of the fish!!!! All and all, a crazy dining experience with nothing matching the menu descriptions and food quality sub par. We will probably go back and give them a second chance but I do not have any confidence that we will get a satisfactory dining experience. read more

Long wait for food to come out. Food was cold and half the party's meals were wrong. Manager couldn't be bothered with making it right. This was second time dining. First time the food took forever to come out as well read more

Table wasn't set, we had to stop a waiter to get utensils to eat our first course. The service was slow and bad.

Never made it to a table. Know before you go. Tables are for reservation only. If you walk in you will be offered bar seating or outdoor patio( temp of 110). Tables were empty, bar was jammed packed. It will be a long while until I forget and decide to give them a try. read more

This was literally the worst experience in recent memory, the host could not find our reservation then it was like an FBI interigation . after agreeing to sit at bar and wait for our table he come over saying your table is ready.. Turbs out it was the table in the bar behind the bar stools we sat at uncomfortably, We then waited and waited and waited . I had actually get up walk back to the bar and get a water for my wife , No silverware for 22 minutes , Here is my regret the food was like something from heaven it took forever so I'm m not sure if I was savagely hungry or if it was as good as I thought get bein said once the hangry went away we had to just take everything home because we were exhausted from being there super uncomfortable most of the night ! read more

We ate here on oyster day! Really good and fresh oysters that were shucked properly and served really cold. My wife hade the halibut fish and chips and they were cooked perfectly and had three pieces. I also had the ceviche and it was very good and also huge. Waitress was very friendly and attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I read people unhappy about speed of service but, this is not fast food! Food was timed to come out perfectly, we had time to relax and enjoy our meal. Overall this is a 10 out of 10. read more

I so want this place to succeed. Stopped by for lunch yesterday. The restaurant itself is very nice. Huge great looking bar. The food. The calamari looked like mozzarella sticks. I had never had calamari in that shape before. Usually they are rings and tentacles. They were ok. I had the fish tacos - not great. The tortilla was cold and hard so as soon as you picked it up it cracked and the fish fell out. The breading fell off the fish from too much sauce. The fish itself was tender the rest of the taco not great. Came with rice. Rice was cold and had hardened and stuck together - so if you scooped some up it broke off in chunks it was no good. Also came with a side of beans, skipped that all together. Friend had fish and chips they enjoyed that. Never offered a cocktail menu - so not sure if they have one. Maybe dinner is better than lunch ? I will give this place another try. Again nice restaurant space. read more

Arrived at 5:20 for 5:30 reservations, party of 8. Drink & food order taken immediately, while the rest of the table cheered with their drinks, me & my husband waited patiently for ours. 6 people in my party were brought their food while me & my husband waited, & waited, just watching them eat so slowly so that we could enjoy the meal with them... I questioned waitress since all orders taken at same time, then after another 20 min, I asked for a mgr by this time, everyone was 3/4 of their way thru dinner ... mgr apologized offering each couple a free desert to share... wrong desert was brought out for 2 us & our other friends ... not one water refill for the entire 2 hours we were there, incorrect bills... food was decent, but entire experience was irritating- do better! read more

This place recently opened so I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt....but it was not good. Service was slow, which I expected with a new business. They forgot our drinks after we ordered them. Had to remind the waiter, who then brought them. Ordered clam chowder which was awful. Way too thick and had almost no clams or potatoes. Ordered a double cut pork chop which was WAY overcooked. Dry and burnt. They did remove it from the bill when I showed it to the waiter. My wife ordered the salmon which was good, so there is that. Try at your own risk. It was not an enjoyable experience read more

I visited here for the first time last week. The food was great as well as the service.

Pretty bummed. Came here with my family to celebrate my birthday tonight. Hosts were nice. But service was terrible. No one's drinks were refilled. One beverage never even made it and we were still charged for it. Plates and basics weren't brought to the table for appetizers. We weren't made aware of 86ed items so once meals were already entered, two people in our party had to choose something else and their food did not come til we all were done eating. The crème brûlée was runny and tasted like water. And dirty plates were never cleared. I had to stack them and ask them to be taken so that dessert could fit on the table. The sad part was it wasn't even busy and it was an hour before closing once we were deciding on dessert and the server prioritized talking to the bartender which was confusing when there was so much not getting done for our table. Lastly, with the reservation being set for my birthday it was disappointing that it was not ever mentioned. It all just seems to be the basics of good service. However, the calamari, clam chowder, shrimp scampi pasta, and crème brûlée CHEESECAKE were good. And the manager Cassandra was nice when we told her about our experience. She explained she'd heard this sort of thing before. Maybe this particular server doesn't do very well typically. read more

Great fo9d and service. Our server Cody was the best. Can't wait until my next visit.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to get their Monday afternoon, right after they opened. Service was fabulous, the oysters were fresh and succulent, so many varieties to choose from. Will be going back for sure. read more

A beautiful restaurant. The service was disappointing. It wasn't the waiters fault. The drinks tasted bad. Food was good, but overpriced for the quality. I was expecting a high end experience, but didn't get it. I give it a 2 out of 5. I hope they get better. read more

Had lunch there yesterday,I'm not a seafood person but the other 3 in our group are. They thought the food was delicious,as for me,had the hamburger, and I can honestly say, best burger I ever had ( fries not so much). Really great service to go along with the food. read more

First off for being a newly opened restaurant I realize there would be learning curves to all parts of the restaurant but they seem to have it figured out for the most part. We've now been here twice and had the best service. Amanda was our server and is the sweetest and always checked on us thru out our meal. We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager John. He seems to really care about this restaurant and about his Patrons. A very nice gentleman. The food has been amazing from the appetizers to Lunch entrees to Dinner Entrees. The Seafood tastes super fresh as if it were caught the same day and the Steak was just as delicious. We will be making this our regular and so happy to have a Seafood restaurant close to home. Highly recommend. read more

First time here. Amazing fresh seafood. The manager said it's flown in several times a week. They have plenty of non seafood options also. Crème brûlée cheesecakes incredible! Service was great (Amanda) and manger (John) was fantastic as well. So excited to have a restaurant with high quality beautiful crafted food in the West valley. read more

As a Pacific Northwest transplant, I have high expectations for seafood. If you like Old Bay Seasoning, then you might like this place. The crab cheese bread had shards of crab and heavy on the Old Bay. The mussels were steeped in a broth that looked like dishwater and tasted of Old Bay. The calamari were those little fish stick type things--I want good old rings and tenacles! White wine was room temperature and the fix? Can I get you an ice cube. Oysters were fabulous. Sorry! expected more. read more

Took 2 hours for food to even come out, took 30 minutes to even get our drinks, never saw the server again after we got our drinks. Then asked to see the manager cause it took so long for our food to come out, she started being rude and disrespectful to us just a total horrible experience read more

Had high hopes for this place based off the reviews and menu offerings. Being in Arizona, always hoping for a solid seafood spot. First time here. Called to make reservation and hostess had to get manager because they were "busy". Weird, It was not busy and there were several tables open the whole time we were there. Ordered one of their specialty cocktails, the "New Fashion". I think I'll stick with the Old Fashioned. It was terrible and I mean terrible. Waiter was nice, but needed a lot more training. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon, medium rare that came with choice of 2 sides. He started to take my order before asking her about the sides. I had to correct him so that that he could finish taking her order. I ordered the spicy seafood pasta. He asked me what type of rice I would like with that. White or dirty rice. I said, I don't think it comes with rice, it's a pasta dish. He said, what type of rice would you like just in case it comes with rice. Hmmm, okay. Main orders have now been taken. I ask if they have any raw oysters on the half shell. He said, no one gave you an oyster menu? Nope! He left and came back with one that had about 7 different types. I place my order for 6. He came back 5 minutes later to inform me that they were out of that type. I picked another type. As we were waiting for our entrees, he didn't refill my wife's Coke Zero at all. He never even asked until we got our check. He was pleasant, just very undertrained. Our dinner finally arrived, along the with oysters at the same time, not good timing. My wife cut into her Filet Mignon cooked medium almost med well, not medium rare as ordered. I like salt, and her steak was extremely salty. The whipped potatoes were nothing special. The mac n cheese side was good. My spicy seafood pasta was not spicy at all and was basically pasta in a bowl of soup. It was described as a spicy tomato cream sauce. Soup is not a sauce. Flavor was decent, good amount of seafood, however, artichokes were missing. Just could have been way better had it been spicy and proper cream sauce, not soup. The waiter never came back to check if our food was ok. I normally don't write reviews, however, I do see potential in this place and desperately want to like it. With the prices they charge, having spent $163.00 for two, I did not feel the experience or value was there to justify those level of prices. Mixed feelings about this place. read more

Four of us went to dinner and each ordered a different dish to try the variety of seafood. It was TERRIBLE for all of us. Everything was horribly salty as in not edible. Scallops were chewy and overcooked. Chilean sea bass was dry and flaky not silky and buttery as it should be. Halibut was so overcooked, it was hard to swallow. Scallops came with an orzo that except by texture had the same flavor and saltiness of the risotto that came with the the sea bass and halibut. Blistered tomatoes on two of the dishes were actually refrigerator cold and asparagus was cold and shriveled. Calamari tasted like something from Costco's freezer and fried. Lobster Mac and Cheese was pretty good, but have had better! Service was mediocre at best. Every question asked didn't have an answer, she had to go ask; clearly not knowledgeable about the food they served. So disappointed!!!!! Worst meal we've ever been served and that says a lot as we dine out often. read more

We went on May 31 for my husband's birthday. We had the oysters - excellent, plump, briny, fresh - then he had the Chilean see bass and I had the scallops. Both dishes were superb, the sea bass especially. That risotto was out of this world! The cooks really know how to handle seafood. They comp'ed a dessert for the b-day boy, nice touch. Cocktails on point, excellent and well-priced wine list. Service was attentive but not overbearing. So why 4 not 5 stars? Weirdly, we were only allowed to sit side by side on one side of the booth, and it was the side facing the NNW windows. The banquette on the other side looked fine, but they told us it was out of commission? Odd. And the outside shades don't span the full width of the NNW side so for a very uncomfortable 20 minutes we had the harsh setting sun in our eyes. Fix that, and this is a five star experience. We'll be back. But we'll ask for a different table, read more

We had high hopes for High Tide. Goodyear was lacking a great seafood restaurant. After 2 visits here's what we've taken away. The food is great with a few technical issues. The scallops and clams had sand in them both times we ate here. The service is another issue. Sat at the bar the first time and service was surprisingly lacking. Drinks are okay but the service was a little slow even sitting at the bar. Had to ask to place a 'to-go' and for the check. And this was at just before 5 so there were not many people at the bar at this point. The next day we sat at a table in the bar area. Again the service was slow. Drinks were inconsistent, service was almost non existent. We had to flag down a different bartender to order a second round (the table next to us appeared to be upset with the length of time it took to get there drinks as well). Ordered a tower and wasn't brought out any plates or a bowl (for shells). After a server was by the table they walked away without taking the empty dishes that were left on the table. Little things like no soy sauce or wasabi with the sushi no silverware. Over all food was decent but for the price I would expect perfection on these dishes. I know they've only been open a few weeks and are still finding their footing but the issues we experienced are simple things that any restaurant should be avoiding from the get go. Management was politely informed of our concerns but it didn't seem to resonate. Hopefully ownership will step in to resolve these issues. read more
