Grilled chicken regular burrito to go
Mary K.

Ordered to go. Have been here before, the food is good, my favorite is the grilled chicken regular burrito. The steak supper burrito was also good. I personally don't like sour cream and guacamole in my burrito, but my niece got fresh avocados instead of guacamole in it. I was a little disappointed in the kids plate ordered grilled chicken and rice and beans. It came in a half pint or a pint container. The service was OK. The lady behind the counter was to the point in short with conversation. they were not busy when I ordered.

Yikes.
Sydney A.

Very disappointed! I paid $14 for a burrito I had to completely take apart because it was just filled with pico de gallo and no sour cream! I asked for light sour cream and got none. On top of that, the shrimp are NOT sautéed they're like steamed... so sad. Not sure if I'll be back.

Menu

Just ok food. 3.5 stars for food quality/quantity. I got the bowl with chicken/beef. The bowl was made very quickly which was a surprise. But sadly the food was bland, and chicken was dry and luke warm. Not as fresh as I had at other restaurants. The prices were quite steep for what you get, but I can see if you're in the area for a quick bite this spot will be popular. Inside was clean and well maintained, but fans above created a windy and cool environment. Overall, a decent place to grab a bite, but prices and quality was not there for me.

A supreme bowl for $16 but half the portion you'll get in Chipotle - not worth it!
Ramez B.

$16 for just about half of what you'll get from Chipotle and it's not like the quality is better! I'm all for local business and all that (I live literally 4 minutes away) versus the big chains - but this was a tat too much for me. We're all making fun of Chipotle's quantities but here it's a joke!... Place is clean and food was served in no time - that I'll give to them, but quantity was a shocker (maybe other orders off the menu would be better) and quality was average at best. Going back to chipotle and not complaining again!

Super burrito
Lizbelle E.

Ordered a super burrito with al pastor, chorizo, pinto beans, and red chili sauce. This is literally the best combination of flavors in my opinion. The al pastor and chorizo were well seasoned and the red chili sauce gives it a nice kick. I was pleasantly surprised with how big the burrito was as well. I added a picture of my hand size in reference to the burrito. The only downside was that on my online order I asked for it to be cut in half but as you can see from my pictures it came whole. But since the burrito was tasty I won't deduct any stars.

Which is a shame since the food was excellent. The classic margarita was delicious and made with Arette tequila, which is one of my favorites. It was fresh tasting and well balanced. I would have had a lot more if I wasn't on a work budget. We split the Molotitos appetizer which was fried corn masa with a hodgepodge of fillings and toppings. They were good and bigger than I thought they would be. Definitely good for sharing, or even for a meal. They were a little dry, but they were topped with lots to goodies. I ordered the Shrimp Asados for my meal which was a fresh tasting grilled shrimp dish with veggies and quinoa... only they forgot the quinoa. After over an hour of waiting for it, I wasn't going to ask for some... not that I could as the waitress didn't really come back to the table that often. My colleague got the Mole Chicken and wow, that mole sauce was delicious. It also came with freshly made tortillas which made all the difference in that dish. The place was pretty big with outdoor dining and we were lucky enough to snag a table outside with very little wait... but ended up waiting a lot for the food. I think we were there for over 2 hours and left shortly after we finished our meals. Good food thought but man... figure out that service!

There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.

My husband had the chile relleno burrito & I had the carne asada. They were both very flavorful & good portion of meat! The churro was good too! Great selection of salsa too ! All homemade. I got another Mexican place to go to in Dublin. One note though. They don't seem to have free water. I've never encountered this before & I believe California requires restaurants to provide this. Do what you want with this information.

Now it gets weird. They ALWAYS used to include a mini cup of each of the salsas in my delivery orders. Last four delivery orders, they stopped giving the green jalapeño salsa. So because I love it so much, I specifically order an 8oz tub of it. Guess what they delivered? Not the jalapeño salsa but rather their other green one which is a garlic salsa. Could've reported it and received a DoorDash refund, but i left it alone. The last two deliveries, they also did not include the dorito pinwheels like they always do, so I drive there to get 'em. Even gave them $5 for something free, bc ya know - just helping a business out and the owner guy is nice and was apologetic. Now today, I was in the area, so i stopped in for a taco, agua fresca, a large bag of those pinwheel doritos and an 8oz tub of the jalapeño salsa especially because the salsa bar was empty and the other orange one i like was not made well this time. So watery yuck. The girl taking orders didn't seem like she was well versed in punching orders into their system. Took awhile for her to enter those 4 items I ordered and needed to grab one of the other staff to help her, but whatever - still tipped her 18%. Then, why in the world would they finish up my order then tell me they're completely out of the jalapeño salsa and then ask if I want an 8oz tub of another salsa? So at this point, it seems they're trying to do the same thing as when i ordered this specific salsa for delivery and hope i'll be ok with something else, right? It also looked almost performative when the girl opened the cabinet under the salsa bar looking for more jalapeño salsa before she told me they were completely out. I respond with "that's the only salsa I wanted. I can wait while they make more. can they make more?" she says no. twice. I let her know that I wanted to be refunded for the salsa and bag of dorito pinwheels. All of a sudden they magically found more jalapeño salsa. All of this to say I'm now absolutely convinced the staff is trying to hoard this specific salsa for whatever reason. Like i said, it's delicious, but not a reason to freakin hoard it for yourself when that's a reason your customers come back. I'll also add that the quality of the food these last two times around was no bueno. The amount of lengua and garnish in my taco was just sad. Literally, the taco I ordered today is the same taco I have pictured in my original review, but then opened it up when i got home and looked nothing like it did before. I've recommended this place to my coworkers and now I take it back and it seems the other Yelpers agree that this is no longer the place we loved. Definitely taking a break from this place. To the owner - I think when you're not there, your team is unfortunately letting you down and giving your customers a different food experience then what you provide and are known for.
