On Aug 2, 2011 my husband called HIgh Tech & got me an appointment for my 95 Chevy S-10 the next day. What a great facility. Everyone was super nice, the waiting area was super clean and had plenty of reading material, the front desk lady greeted me with a smile & offered me water. Then Tom came in & talked to me for a minute. Later the sweetest lady came out from the main office & asked everyone if the air temperature inside was ok & offered everyone more beverages & candy. She was so sweet. Tom came back & said my car had passed then he escorted me to the bay where I was introduced to the Team. Called for an appointment on 4/25/11 and Rita answered. Very nice on the phone and very nice in person. Drove my Dodge diesel truck over to their place and was greeted nicely by Rita and the other people. Were very professional in attitude and in their work. Got me in and out in about a half hour and only charged $50. This was the first time I've used them and because they were nice, professional, honest, and have a clean operation... I'll take my wife and son's vehicles there for smog checks. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't get better than this! I'll be back and I highly recommend them to others. read more

I was referred to High Tech Auto from Chris at Terry's auto in San Marcos. I made an appointment. I didn't catch the tech's name but he was very friendly and had my truck in and passed smog relatively quickly. They also have a waiting room, so your not stuck wandering in a parking lot. Smog and Cert for a Toyota Tundra was $50 out the door without hassling with coupons. I'm happy I came here as I had a horrible experience at Blue Sky Auto Smog. I will be coming here from now on! I had to find another smog test center because my normal place is closed due to vacation for the entire month. I have an older vehicle which requires a Star Test Center and High Tech Auto was suggested as a Star Test Center. I'm so glad I went to High Tech Auto! The technicians are very professional and thorough. The woman in the front office is very sweet. She even offered me coffee or bottled water and candy while I waited. I hate getting my cars smogged! I never know where to go because I don't trust the shops that I've used in the past. I usually spend a lot of time doing searches on the Web to find smog specials of the month or whatever, because the prices vary so much. However, I've finally found the smog only test shop that I will use for all my cars going forward - High Tech Auto in San Marcos! What a great place! I'm astounded that this place is highly rated. I scheduled an appointment to get my car smogged. When I went in for my appointment I stood at the counter for 20 minutes while the front desk employee argued on the phone with what sounded to be his boss. I am a big Fan of this Place. I went for the first time on Tuesday around 12pm with an appointment and I was treated very nice. They even asked if the temp. was alright for me. while i was filling out paper work for the car they offered me Water and candy. The smog check took about less than 20 minutes. Amazing. Fantastic. Friendly. Fast. The list can go on & on. I was at the temp dmv down the street & searched for a smog station, this place popped up & with the great reviews, I drove over. Walked in the office & knew I made a great decision right away. Talk ab really nice people. No joke, I spoke with 5 different people & ALL of them were happy go lucky. & I mean the real happy- not that fake smile that's annoying within 2 seconds. When I was told the smog would only take 20 minutes, I handed over my key. The wait didn't feel like 20 minutes. Maybe bc it was faster, or maybe bc the office is nice & that dying itch to leave wasn't there- which ever it was, I was still happy at the end. Amazing people...amazing service!!! These folks went out of their way to help me. When my car didn't pass, they provided detailed instructions for the mechanic. Twice the mechanic failed to fix the problem! Finally, High Tech Auto got me in touch with a guy who specializes on my type of car--he fixed the issue in five minutes! I am in treatment and feel like I got hit by a bus...no longer having to take the car back and forth to the mechanic was a huge deal to me. Well after looking for a smog shop here in SM i was recommended here by my mother. She explained to me that its a very fast, affordable, and the customer service is spectacular! Well say no more i had to try this place and everything that i was expecting was true! The Lady in the front desk spoke Spanish and English which helps if you are not bilingual!
