Sent my husband here for his car after my experience a year ago- the fact that I remember the business speaks to the awesome service and environment. My husband had nothing but positive things to say as well! read more

Our car failed smog test at another station. I called Hi-Tech (our regular test station) and took a look and explain the findings and referred me to another great shop next door who fixed the problem. Professional, friendly service- highly recommended. read more

First time using Hi-Tech Auto. The customer service is absolutely amazing. My tech let me know the progress all through out the time I was there. He even rotated the tires for free, gave me a discount I would recommend this place to everyone. Thanks Hi-Tech. read more

I went to there to get my car smog. The guy checked my car first since I knew that my catalyst was incomplete. He told me that the car should pass smog easily. Waited for about 15 mins and he got my car ready. First time customer get $10 off. This place is really friendly. Would definitely come here again. read more

Super awesome Guys here! They are not going to overcharge you like your normal Smog place. They give you a great price and provide awesome customer service and I keep coming back because of how cool they are. Matt is a stud and usually makes things happen when I get in a pinch. I don't yelp that often and I don't have a way with words but if you want a good price and want to have a great experience give these guys a visit. read more

I have been a customer of High Tech Auto for twenty years. I brought my Toyota Avalon in yesterday for a smog and as always Matt had it done in timely manner and at a fair price. I usually don't write two reviews for a company, however High Tech is so good they deserve two five-star reviews. Thank you for providing great service. read more

Great SMOG experience. Fast and easy to communicate. I will definitely come back here again. Waiting room was clean and as soon as i came in i was told what to do and how long it would take. read more

On Aug 2, 2011 my husband called HIgh Tech & got me an appointment for my 95 Chevy S-10 the next day. What a great facility. Everyone was super nice, the waiting area was super clean and had plenty of reading material, the front desk lady greeted me with a smile & offered me water. Then Tom came in & talked to me for a minute. Later the sweetest lady came out from the main office & asked everyone if the air temperature inside was ok & offered everyone more beverages & candy. She was so sweet. Tom came back & said my car had passed then he escorted me to the bay where I was introduced to the Team. We all talked and joked, I paid my tab (which was very reasonable) & off I went. High Tech Auto has earned loyal customers with me and my husband. read more

I needed a fast and economical smog for my car on the day my registration was due. I looked them up on Yelp and made an appointment. I was in and out in 35 minutes and that includes the State computer system being down for 10 minutes. Friendly and price was reasonable. I would highly recommend them. read more

I just needed a smog test and found High Tech Auto via Yelp. I spoke with several members of the staff and all were very friendly. The work was done on time, the process was explained, and the price was clarified up front and included all taxes, etc. I will definitely go back. read more

Called for an appointment on 4/25/11 and Rita answered. Very nice on the phone and very nice in person. Drove my Dodge diesel truck over to their place and was greeted nicely by Rita and the other people. Were very professional in attitude and in their work. Got me in and out in about a half hour and only charged $50. This was the first time I've used them and because they were nice, professional, honest, and have a clean operation... I'll take my wife and son's vehicles there for smog checks. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't get better than this! I'll be back and I highly recommend them to others. read more

Extremely friendly and fast service. Very good price for a smog check.highly recommend

I have been coming here for years because they get you in and out and are affordable which is great seeing how I have three cars and feel like I come here often. Most importantly, Matt has the best customer service and is just great! Any time I call, Matt gets me in as soon as possible and back on the road. I will keep coming here as long as the doors are open and Matt is working there! read more

Oh my!! Loved this place. I was referred by an excellent mechanic to get my smog check done, and the service was excellent. From the time I stepped in I was greeted with kindness and professionalism. I was referred to High Tech Auto from Chris at Terry's auto in San Marcos. I made an appointment. I didn't catch the tech's name but he was very friendly and had my truck in and passed smog relatively quickly. They also have a waiting room, so your not stuck wandering in a parking lot. Smog and Cert for a Toyota Tundra was $50 out the door without hassling with coupons. I'm happy I came here as I had a horrible experience at Blue Sky Auto Smog. I will be coming here from now on! Trustworthy and reliable. read more

I had to find another smog test center because my normal place is closed due to vacation for the entire month. I have an older vehicle which requires a Star Test Center and High Tech Auto was suggested as a Star Test Center. I'm so glad I went to High Tech Auto! The technicians are very professional and thorough. The woman in the front office is very sweet. She even offered me coffee or bottled water and candy while I waited. I have two vehicles and I'll be coming back for my other car and future testing needs! I forgot to add they also checked and adjusted my tire pressure - for free! Nice touch. Thanks High Tech Auto!! read more

I hate getting my cars smogged! I never know where to go because I don't trust the shops that I've used in the past. I usually spend a lot of time doing searches on the Web to find smog specials of the month or whatever, because the prices vary so much. However, I've finally found the smog only test shop that I will use for all my cars going forward - High Tech Auto in San Marcos! What a great place! Family-owned and operated, friendly, outgoing, clean, trustworthy, Christian-oriented business! I love this place and will recommend it to all my family, friends and others who want to be treated right and taken well care of when they need their cars smogged! Great job, High Tech Auto! I'm a fan.... read more

Amazing people...amazing service!!! These folks went out of their way to help me. When my car didn't pass, they provided detailed instructions for the mechanic. Twice the mechanic failed to fix the problem! Finally, High Tech Auto got me in touch with a guy who specializes on my type of car--he fixed the issue in five minutes! I am in treatment and feel like I got hit by a bus...no longer having to take the car back and forth to the mechanic was a huge deal to me. I sooo appreciated their kindness and the manner in which they explained everything! They've won a loyal customer!!!! read more

Well say no more i had to try this place and everything that i was expecting was true! The Lady in the front desk spoke Spanish and English which helps if you are not bilingual! I'm astounded that this place is highly rated. I scheduled an appointment to get my car smogged. When I went in for my appointment I stood at the counter for 20 minutes while the front desk employee argued on the phone with what sounded to be his boss. Not once did he even acknowledge my presence. So eventually I walked out. Highly unprofessional and clearly lacking in customer service. read more
