A small smog shop that's 100% worth visiting. I've taken several cars here and it's always quick and easy. - Unlike some mechanic shops that offer smog at a reduced price, those places will make up that money with various upsells and suspicious problems they "happened to notice". This is smog only. One price, no upsells, no complementary inspections. This is in and out at a fair price. - Highly recommended. - They do star and non-star smog checks. read more

Fast, quick and easy service, I pulled up, the guy came out, hooked the car up, gave me my results and I went on my merry way. There was also a convenient gas station with a little snack store immediately next to it. read more

I have my cars at Henry's Smog now for the second time. He makes this very convenient. No appointment needed, he can handle two cars at a time, so there is minimal waiting. I was both times in and out within 15/20 minutes. The pricing is fair and at times he will have a coupon on his website. If you go and renew your registration at AAA in Escondido, you can literally drive from Henry's to AAA and expect for them to see the smog passing score when you get your new registration and stickers. read more

Henry is efficient and a pleasure to do business with. His new location is much easier to get in and out of. Great move. Very fast. And my car passed! read more

Great friendly service! Easy to find location at a gas station with plenty of parking on the off chance you have to wait. I didn't have an appointment and I didn't have to wait at all. :) read more

Slightly unclear pricing on the coupon offered on the app, but still the best in town. Yelp check in price is $29.99, but you still have to pay an additional $10 for the certification. Even though the coupon should be written a bit differently, I still understood when he stated the additional cost. My husband found it to be misleading, however. Also, when you go on their website, they have a coupon special for $39.70 and "+ CERT $8.25". So for the Yelp special youre paying $10 for cert, but $8.25 online if you pay more for the smog. So look, it's not a huge difference, but it's still something to note. That being said, Henry was nice, got my smog done in about 5 minutes and even offered for me to use his phone when mine was having issues. You will have to back into potential traffic when exiting, so be aware of that. Still a 5 star place in my books. I'd change the coupon on yelp, however, to be a little clearer on the pricing. read more

This is the only place I go to get my car smog. It is quick and easy you are in and out in the price is extremely inexpensive.

Almost lost my mind when I heard Henry's was closed! But then I jumped on the website to find that he moved! Just in time for my smog! I was this close to trying someone new! We've been going to Henry's for 7 years now (first review under Marisa W.) and just saw him last year for hubby's car. He is one of THE hardest working and customer service oriented people I've had the pleasure to meet and we look forward to seeing him each time. With all the numerous smog places we have in Esco, we feel fortunate to continue supporting and recommending Henry's! Trust the reviews! He is a great guy and deserves all the success in the world! read more

Got here for smog @ THURSDAY-09/21/2023 3:00PM (NO APPOINTMENT) Had to renew my car's registration & had searched around for STAR Certified Smog. Super easy to find, right along the BLVD - and The technician was super nice and helpful They have an outdoor waiting area of lawnchairs but thankfully the smog didn't take long at all. As advertised: "Henry's is the cheapest, fastest, friendliest smog shop in escondido." I attest this! Unfortunately I had to jump my car before coming here because my car was sitting for a month on my driveway, and the technician didn't charge me because the smog tested as "incomplete" he told me to come back after i drive it for 90+ miles, which sucks but he was very helpful and didn't try to shell me out some $$$ even though he took the time to try to test it. Will be back to retest! Thank you!! read more

Stopped here for a smog test after purchasing a used car since it was a requirement in order to get the car registered. I saw all the five star reviews and figure it would be a reliable place to get it done. All the reviewers were right. When we arrived (no appointment needed), two cars were just finishing up. They have two machines, which helps the line move quicker. We waited about 5 minutes and then Henry got started on our test right away. The whole process took about 10-15 minutes. I used the check-in coupon so the total came out to $40 including the certificate. When we stopped by the DMV about an hour later, our paperwork was already in the system. Gave true meaning to "bada bing bada boom." We'll definitely be back for our biannual smog test next year. read more

Henry's Smog - Front of shop - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Escondido, California

Excellent! A great place to get the smog done. Not my first time. Thank you very much!

Talk about a hassle-free experience! I called Henry's (star-certified) earlier in the day to see if he accepts walk-ins which they do and that same afternoon I was in and out within 15 minutes. Thankfully my car passed, but Henry does not charge on fail which is definitely appreciated for those who are apprehensive about their car passing. Super quick and convenient smog check experience and I'd definitely recommend to anyone needing a smog check! read more

My man and I couldn't remember which shop we used last time, so I found Henry's via a simple apple map search. Figured the reviews were good, so why not. I brought in our FJ and then my Jetta - both times, he got me in right away and smogged them within 30 min! I'm highly impressed. He was very kind, thorough, and quick. We will be using his shop from now on! read more

I took my honey's FJ for the required Smog check to Henry's Smog. When I arrived, I arrived without an appointment to find another customer's car being checked. Henry asked me to pull the car in next to the other car. I shared I was looking for a smog check. I handed over the keys and he hooked up the FJ to his diagnostic machines. He did his tests and I was out of there in less than 30mins. Easy does it. Efficient and on point. Since I ended up taking our Prius as well, he gave me a slight discount which was greatly appreciated. read more
