Great service! Fast and efficient. No question about what the cost is and no hidden fees. They charged $50 for my SUV and had me in and out in less than 15 minutes. Won't go anywhere else! Thanks for the great service. Will recommend you to everyone! read more

Recently came here for a smog check on my 1999 Tahoe. Was a little worried but everything was good and it passed. Ed was super nice and friendly. He also had a pep in his step trying to get the smog done while my 2 year old was running around outside. Definitely will bring all of our vehicles back to Ed! read more

Ed is so cool. I was in and out. They had the place nicely decorated for Halloween and they were giving out candy. Excellent and efficient service. I spoke to James his son; who was helping him work there. He was a very nice man. Five stars!!! read more

I had such a great experience at Auto Park Smog Service! From the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The service was fast and efficient, I was literally in and out in about 15 minutes for my smog check! What really stood out to me was how they took the time to explain the diagnostic codes my car had and clearly walked me through what everything meant and what steps I needed to take next. As a young female, I truly appreciated how respectful and patient they were. I felt completely comfortable, and well taken care of the entire time. They were also running a fun St. Patrick's Day special where you could draw from a hat to win a discounted smog, I ended up winning an $8.25 smog, which was such a cool bonus! Overall, amazing customer service, honest guidance, and super efficient. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a smog check! read more

Back again to see ol' Poker Face Ed. For those of us driving relics that require a Star smog station, this place is still the one. He moved around the corner next to Aunt Devi's Meat Pies. I highly recommend this place to my fellow Flintstone car drivers. Even got Ed to take a selfie with me whilst congratulating me on my legal smog status. Thanx Ed read more

New Location! He's on the corner of Industrial Ave. and Market Pl. FYI if you're on Industrial Ave., go to end of the street and turn the corner. Ed is so nice! Took approximately 20 minutes. He's honest and will let you know if you need any anything to get it done. Bring your registration for the smog check it makes it much easier! read more

Always excellent service, very customer focused. He also offers helpful advice if you need further work done to pass the test.

Called and Ed answered and was super nice and was able to squeeze me in for a smog check. When I arrived he was friendly and greeted me and I was done within 20 minutes. Apparently my tires were low and he was nice enough to put air in my tires. This place is great, I'm not sure why people are leaving a bad review. read more

I've been bringing my cars to Ed for over a decade.....I wouldn't go anywhere else. Super nice guy.

Ed's the man! Been coming here for the company van and he's always been honest with me. Great service, always prompt and reasonably priced. Thanks Ed! See you again in two years. read more

Went here for smog. I had some work done on my car before coming in such as a new catalytic converter. He was asking a lot of questions about the car and what was done. He told me the catalytic converter was "upside down" so he couldn't see the numbers. I immediately went to the shop that installed down the street and got the car up on a lift. The part only goes on one way. We all thought it was ridiculous that he would say something like that. I went to another smog station within the hour and the car passed with no issues. My impression of him went from helpful to straight up shady. read more

I was very impressed with the work they did. The owner was very nice, and told me where to go to get the tags for my car, The smog was done on time, and quickly. Best place I have been to smog my vehicles. read more

I've used this place several times and always been happy with the results. It seems like it is the same guy every time I go it but he is supper friendly and nice. This time I was able to get a same day appointment which was nice. One thing I really like is the employee always gives friendly advice on how to maintain your vehicle. I remember last time he was talking about the different gas companies and how they are not all the same. I've posted a picture of prices which I'm sure will change but should give you a good idea. I have an older truck so I will definitely be back. Give it a try. read more

This is a first class / no nonsense operation which in the automotive smog business is a pleasure. There is always some anxiety that comes with having to smog check your vehicle. Ed makes it easy. Always willing to help, great prices, finished when promised, and easy to find and get in and out of. This will always be my "go to" for smog checks. Thanks Ed !! Appreciate the great service !! read more

Ed was so nice in helping me out right before he closed up shop. They have moved to a new address than the one that's listed but he gave me instructions how to get there. Service was super fast, and he was so nice! read more

Reading "Gary H" review, I can't help but feel he is a little disingenuous about his rating. "Never complains?" This is one time he needed to ask Ed about the "broken in two" gas cap. This is a business transaction, not a personal matter. A little initiative on "Gary H" part would have put the matter to rest. Instead he torpedoes the owner on Yelp, making it a personal matter. If you read all the other reviews on Yelp, it is obvious the owner helps people resolve problems. It appears "Gary H" didn't give the owner a chance to solve his problem. As for me, I am a long time customer, returning to Auto Park Smog Service each time one of my vehicles needs certification. I agree with all the others that the owner, Ed, is friendly, helpful and efficient. If it were otherwise I would be going somewhere else. Maybe "Gary H" should give Ed another try. Next time be a little more forthcoming about his grievances. read more

I go here for all my smogs. They work hard to get the job done and they will let you know what to do to keep your car smog ready.

Good fast service. Trustworthy and honest. Glad I found a place I can trust! Let me know that I needed to drive 200 miles before testing or I would not pass because I had just replaced my battery. read more

Took my car to Ed's because I was recommended by my brother in law. Ed is the best! He has the best attention to detail! He really explains everything to you for you to understand better too. I highly recommend coming here for your next smog. Also, make an appointment! Ed gets very busy and always tries to get you in when he can read more

I showed up randomly at this shop without an appointment to see if they had any openings. I am originally an out of state driver and unfamiliar with Smog checks in general. Not only did they try and fit me in, the man working took the time to diagnose my car, and test my gas cap. Unfortunately my engine light is on, so I will need to get repairs before I can clear a smog test. He did not charge me for the tests, and gave me some very helpful tips on what I needed fixed, and to make sure and drive after having my computer engine cleared so I would past the DMV test. An immensely helpful shop, which didn't charge me anything. I was exceedingly impressed and appreciative- I live in SD, but would consider driving back to Escondido to have my smog check done at this location. read more

Who waits until the last minute to get a smog check? I do! Needed a smog last minute and used Yelp to find a place that wouldn't rip me off just because they could. Found this place and not only did it have great reviews but was just down the street from where I was. Walked in without an appointment and was told he would be able to squeeze me in after the next guy. Whole process was easy, and he told me all my numbers look good and don't need to worry about fixing anything as my numbers were all really good. He then told me about being able to go to nearby AAA if I was a member and I could not only pay there but would get my sticker right away as well. Very friendly and efficient service. I will be back when I need a smog check. read more

Great and speedy service by Ed! Smogged my BF's car last week and came back a week later to Smog my own. Low cost, friendly and knowledgeable. Informed me on the right amount of air to put in my tires. Don't go by the psi reading on the tire, go by your car's psi usually stated on the inside of driver side where the VIN is. I have found my go to for Smog checks. Thanks Ed! read more

This place was perfect. I didn't have an appointment, just walked right in and only had to wait for the guy in front of me. The man at the counter was VERY helpful. He warned me that there was someone ahead of me and also told me a pretty accurate wait time. While I waited for my smog check (which only took about 20 minutes) I looked on YELP and found that there is a diner only a few blocks away that has inexpensive breakfast. I was planning on going there but the wait was SO SHORT that I just waited a few minutes and continued on with my day! Later I heard positive things about that diner. I would like to point out that I have been ripped off in Escondido. The sign at this place said the smog check was going to be $62. The smog check was $62. I didn't need a coupon and they didn't pile on the fees after I left. I didn't need a coupon, the price was fair, and the guy behind the counter was fast and detailed. At the end of the transaction he gave me all the information I needed to get my papers in ASAP. He told me about the kiosk at the DMV and about AAA and about the online methods. I will go here again if I ever need a smog check in Escondido. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because I know that you can get a cheaper smog check within escondido (all the coupons say you can, at least) but I prefer this place now. In and out, nice and easy, no bullshit, no racist/sexist behavior. The price on the board was the price on the paper. End of story! read more

Ed is great! i have taken my diesel pick up to him back and 2009 and have been going there ever since. Good honest place. i don't usually make a appt. since i work down the street instead i drop it off and he calls when it is done. i have taken probably 5-6 cars/trucks to him and never had a bad experience. read more

I don't have a lot of needs for a smog check place, but Auto Park Smog made me feel comfortable. The price was clear on the wall, and Ed was friendly and personable, and answered my questions well. I called in the morning and set up an appointment for later in the day, which made it a quick 30 minute appointment. I'll be coming back here again! read more

Ed is pretty much a one man show, but he somehow makes that work for him AND his customers. I showed up for my appointment, he brought my car in and less than 20 minutes later was giving me my certificate. He told me that on busy days his wife comes down to help out. He knows his stuff and gets you in and out, what more do you want from a Smog Check spot? Oh, and that's pretty much all Ed does there, he's not a full service mechanic, just smog checks. Thanks again Ed, I'll be back when the state tells me I have to do it again. Highly recommended, don't forget to make an appointment! read more

Auto Park Smog Service - Ed's waiting area at Auto Park Smog Service - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Escondido, California

I appreciate that the price on their waiting room sign includes all fees. None of that weasel-like advertising where other smog businesses advertise a low price in big print and then an extra certificate cost in smaller print. I've come here on two separate occasions, to satisfy my state registration renewal requirements. The service has been fast and easy. read more

In and out service at its best! I called in the late morning to schedule an appointment and Ed was able to see me that same day. I'm used to having to wait 15-30 mins AFTER arriving before having service done, but not here! Total time was about 10 minutes, including signing paperwork, the service and payment. Ed is very courteous and I recommend all people come here! read more

I took my 1999 box truck to this guy. He failed my Cats cause it was the wrong model. apperently i had an isuzu hd. which was not found anywhere on the pink slip registration or on the side of the door. i called gmc for an estimate for cats. when i gave them my vin number they said i had the right cats and im good. I have used Auto Park Smog 6 times since 2013. They have raised their prices a whole $3 in that time span. Make an appointment and show up - what else is there to say? How can people possibly complain about the price and the service- I don't get it. No one looks forward to getting the smog checked on their car. Thankfully, Ed does an amazing job and makes it as painless as possible. Normally I just grab the closest place to the DMV, but that hasn't worked out super well for me in the past. Finally after a quick call over to this place, I knew I made a good decision :) From the moment he answered the phone, I knew this guy was professional, knowledgable, and efficient. He scheduled me at the next available appointment so I wouldn't have to wait long. My appointment was over in less than 20 minutes and the prices were very fair. He gives great little tips and suggestions for each customer about paperwork processing or maintenance. Bonus! Keep up the great work; you can expect a few referrals from me! read more
