I had a great experience at Smog Check Escondido thanks to John's outstanding customer service. I called ahead and John let me know there was only a minimal wait and told me to bring my Nissan Rogue in for a smog check. About 15 minutes later, I arrived and he kindly greeted me, took my keys and paperwork, and clearly explained the cost upfront, which was very reasonable at $60. John was friendly, professional, and had a great attitude the entire time. He told me the smog check would take about 15 minutes and invited me to wait inside the building. He was absolutely true to his word -- 15 minutes later he came back with all my paperwork completed. What really stood out was that he also took the time to point out a recall related to some wiring on my vehicle and recommended I contact Nissan to have it checked out. I truly appreciated his honesty, attention to detail, and professionalism. Excellent customer service from start to finish. Highly recommend! Smog Check Escondido is a step above the rest! read more

Escondido small check! Highly recommended, very polite and efficient got us in and out in under 10 minutes. We paid $80 for a standard smog check for our 2010 Toyota Sequoia! read more

it was a fast service for smog test about 15-20 minutes payed $80, took my car in right away.

I went in for a Smog certificate. I told John that the codes had recently been cleared. He conducted a test and said I need to drive the car more. I drove the car and came back and it failed again. Now he says drive to Murrieta and back. I did as he instructed and the vehicle passed finally. He did not charge me for 3 trips and gave a $10 discount. 5 stars and a wonderful businessman. I will send everyone I know to John. He has been in business for 11 years. Thank you John. Dedie A. read more

Absolutely disrespectful hung up on my face as I was asking a question. Do not come here.

Refused to honor Groupon voucher I already purchased. If you don't honor Groupon, get your vendor page off the platform. Rude too

Always come here for my smog check! The employees are super nice, quick, and efficient. Additionally, it's inexpensive if you grab the coupon from their website! read more

Smog Check Escondido - Waiting area - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Escondido, California

Took my truck here for a smog check. It failed the initial smog check due to sensors not being ready. It cost me $52 (reduced price because it didn't pass). I came back a week later to get it rechecked after the sensors were ready and they charged half off, so an additional $30 for a total of $82, which is a lot in my opinion for a total of about a 30min service. Nothing wrong with this place, but I should have searched elsewhere to check for a place that offers the same thing for cheaper. Some places don't charge for a recheck. read more

The staff were very respectful and responsive! They answered any questions I had in detail and made the experience pleasant. Highly recommend this establishment! read more

Quick, fast smog check. In and out fast and on with my day. Good service. No appointment needed.

Nice guy who did the work but it was not a great experience. Paid up front. Replacing my battery meant I had to reset the computer for emissions. They gave me some confusing instructions on how to reset it. Drove 200 + miles per the video they suggested. Auto Zone confirmed it was reset. Brought it back, but they said it wasn't completely reset. Drive more ... follow the video! On a hunch I went to another Star Certified Smog check place. No money up front. It passed. read more

June 1st 2020 Such an awesome group of Guys!! Great customer service really goes a long way. That's why I'll always think of them when ever I need a smog. My daughter's car last week and now mine today. Really quick and easy and pricing is unbeatable! Happy to know they are still passing or failing cars (haha) during this Covid 19 stay at home mandate and are open for business. 5 stars Highly recommended :) Many thanks to YA'LL - The Yelp Familia! $60 star smog test only* cash-for the Land Cruiser. I called our usual mechanic and he was gonna charge me $98!! :( and I would have to drive to San Diego. In and out ~10minutes. There's a $29.99 check-in for regular cars plus the smog cert. Extremely polite and professional. Absolute pleasure to deal with got me in and out in no time.

Fast and quick service- very reasonably priced! Would highly recommend for a smog check and also not a long wait.

Their website has a coupon for $29.99 + an $8.25 certificate - I attached a screenshot of it. My car is a 1996 model, so according to their coupon, that would add another $10 to their charge. It's Sunday. Nobody else is open. I need a smog start station check done ASAP (my fault for waiting til the last minute). I called in. Told the guys what I needed, he said he could do it for $85, but for me, he'd give me special pricing of $75. When I mentioned the coupon reading as it did on their website, he immediately dismissed me saying that's for 2000 or younger model cars and said good bye. Yes, good bye. I'll take my business elsewhere to somebody who isn't rude and honors what they advertise. read more

Quick, easy and affordable! A great couple of men run this smog check. I called ahead, set a time, and was able to pull straight up to the bay. The check took about 20-30 minutes. I decided to wait in their giant waiting area. There are a few other businesses here for window tint, windshield repair, oil changes, transmission, etc. Each of the businesses appear to be independent. If you plan it out right, you could probably knock a few things off the to-do list. read more

Needed a star smog to sell my car. They have super fast service and lots of friendly staff to get you back on the road fast.

It came to the point where my car came of age and required its first smog check. An extra errand that came to light when renewing the registration online. I went to my go-to Smog Station at opening on a Friday morning but the doors weren't opened for business yet. I didn't want to sit around waiting so I searched for another smog station and this one was only a mile away. Talk about quick, friendly and affordable service! I suppose since it was really early I was the first customer and my car was able to get promptly serviced. And by prompt I mean 15 minutes at the most! I made like a double-double and I was in-and-out of there in no time :) Econosmog is nestled among a 76 gas station, a car wash/detailing and also window tinting. So if you want to reward your car after passing smog then why not bathe and feed it right after ;) read more

Went to get my car smogged. Walked in the front door and one person was looking through some papers on the desk while the other was dusting. Quick and fast service! 10/10 recommend, I came after work and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes!

They were very professional, very fast, and gave me a discount as well. Super nice as well. I recommend!

$50 for a smog check. Their website says they price match. I asked him if he'd price match Henry's smog shop for $39 he said "no." Then said it'd be $60 without the coupon. Dude was just sitting there doing nothing. Could've made $39 for 15 minutes of work. Don't go to these lazy and unreliable people. That is all. Worst smog in Escondido, avoid at all costs!!! read more

John the owner is a stand up guy. They took me in the same day and worked on my Van veby then very quickly as soon as I got there. He has a helper which makes it go by a lot faster as well. I got me a coupon discount on there website for $29.99. I was like this is awesome! I went the next day and check out the shop. I saw the regular smog check price on the board and it's like $52. I was like YES! I'm glad I got me some coupon. After it was done, they ask me for the coupon and presented it. They came back and explain the total amount and add up to $52 just like the one on the board that they have posted.. I was like WHAT the F@#k! They got me for a sucker! Other than the main issue that I experienced, great customer service and quick check up. Gave me recommendations about my car and advice. read more

This place is not good. Curmudgeony guy quoted $100 to smog my car. It is an older car that needed the sniffer test on the dyno, which takes more time, so I didn't balk at this, even though it seemed high for a smog check. Wanted to make an appointment but he said just show up any time. I showed up and he seemed flustered and short. Gave car a cursory look over and made excuses about not being able to find key smog components like EGR and EVAP canister, all of which were there, just not in easily visible locations on my particular make/model of car. He just didn't want to put in the work to do a proper inspection and passed on the chance to make an easy $100 because he was "too busy." Well, I'm glad he passed because I got the job done professionally and without drama at another place for only $65! Obviously won't be going back here... read more
