I spent a few minutes staring at the menu, and now I already know what I'm coming back for... that stuffed French toast has my name written all over it. I just couldn't cheat on the bagel this time. Fair warning: if you go in hungry, don't blame me when you start planning your next visit before you finish your first meal. This spot definitely earned a repeat customer.

I would come back here though, seems like a solid all around breakfast joint.

Just with any place, depending on when you go, it can easily be a little wait. I came in this morning on my day off and ordered the cruel summer on everything sourdough. It has scallion cream cheese, egg, bacon, and hot honey. I also tried the hash brown. I was pleasantly surprised because it was seasoned. Most times hash browns are very plain but this one was not. I opted to sit in and enjoy my breakfast. They had seating with standard tables and chairs. Anytime I've come in, it's always nice and clean. Needless to say, check it out. There are so many varieties of not only bagels but they also have wraps and croissants. So you can customize to your liking. Although, I'm a southern Belle, the New Yorkers have stamped this as a supreme bagel spot. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have.

As before, I give this a resounding 5 stars. The menu has changed a little bit since I last wrote a review, and I've tried some new items. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. My new go-tos are the raging chicken salad on a croissant and the berries and cream pastries. If you read my previous review, you will see that I was working up the nerve to try the chicken salad, because I'm somewhat meat-averse at times, and also don't like heavily mayonnaised foods, which is a big risk with any of the so-called "salad" items (potato, chicken, tuna, etc.) in life. I can now confirm that the chicken salad is 1) not overly mayonnaised and 2) made from not-gross chicken (I have no further explanation for this, but picky eaters will know what I mean). It's relatively light, has a nice texture, and is flavorful. It is one of my favorite weekend lunch items (or weekday, if I'm working remotely and in the area) now, not just here but in general. The berries and cream pastry is delicious and I would eat everyday, or even multiple times a day, if my figure and my wallet could afford it. Sweet, rich, flaky. Definitely one of my favorite dessert / sweet snack items currently. I also got a birthday cake made here and it was absolutely gorgeous (and delicious, obviously). Very well executed and totally got my vision. As I said before, there is plenty of seating inside (outside too!) and the volume level is perfect -- lots of people coming through, but quiet enough I can read, study, or do work. We spend several hours at a time in here some weekends. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.

The four of us who ate there smelled like bacon smoke the entire afternoon. Will continue to eat from here, just maybe not inside until the ventilation sees an improvement.

I don't know if the ownership has changed or if they just made some decisions to alter things, but either way it changes our opinion of the place. First and most important for us, they used to be the only place we were aware of in NC to get Gluten Free Crab Cakes which was a major reason we frequented Sammy G's. That has apparently changed and the new Gluten Free menu is basically just the meats menu which is a real shame. It looks like they have made some other small changes to the regular menu as well, none of those were all that concerning but the loss of this GF treat is a real blow for us. If you are a celiac and found reviews about the GF crab cakes, please be aware they appear to be gone now. Additionally, the prices across the menu seem to have gone up by a few dollars. When you consider that Sammy G's was never a cheap place to eat, and given the state of the economy these days, that actually does come out to a noticeable change and makes it harder to justify going. However, with the loss of the old GF options, it's unlikely we'll come back anywhere near as often as we used to.

Great bagels and bagel sandwiches. They're in a great location, right off of the Main Street running through the area. The only thing that bothers me is how slow their delivery can be. It can take more than an hour to get it delivered sometimes. I'm not sure if it's the app or them. One time I placed an order for pickup. I got there and told them I ordered through the delivery app for pickup and they had no idea they even got my order 30minutes ago. Besides that, the owner is a pretty cool guy. He's very blunt, but will talk to you and ask you how your days going. We like to come here when we know there won't be a breakfast rush. read more

It has scallion cream cheese, egg, bacon, and hot honey. I also tried the hash brown. I was pleasantly surprised because it was seasoned. Most times hash browns are very plain but this one was not. I opted to sit in and enjoy my breakfast. They had seating with standard tables and chairs. Anytime I've come in, it's always nice and clean. Needless to say, check it out. There are so many varieties of not only bagels but they also have wraps and croissants. So you can customize to your liking. Although, I'm a southern Belle, the New Yorkers have stamped this as a supreme bagel spot. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have.

It's a very relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly, welcoming us in enthusiastically as we walked in. It was a bit after lunch on a Sunday, so their selection was pretty picked over, but we bought a mixed dozen with the intent of freezing some and enjoying some that week for breakfasts. Normally, if you get their early enough, it appears they carry a great selection of bagels, but also sandwiches, and various flavors of cream cheese. We've only had a few of the bagels so far, but have enjoyed each we've tried. They do freeze really well, and keep their flavor! If you're looking for authentic NY bagels, this place is one you should check out!
