From the outside you'd never guess this place is great! They had a nice outdoor patio where we were able to sit with our pups. They had a good breakfast menu selection. Coffee was good. The savory crepe dish was delicious. I don't usually like Hollandaise sauce but there's was so fresh and I actually enjoyed it. The side of potato's was too oily in my opinion. The cheesesteak was well seasoned and perfectly cheesy! The drinks - order a juice, you'll thank me later. I had the apple/cucumber/spinach with ginger and OH MY! I am so conflicted about this review! My first experience here was last year and we LOVED it (5 stars all the way). The food and service were amazing and we were excited to find a South African restaurant. It really was a hidden gem and we talked about it all year and it was a must-eat for our next visit. Fast forward, we were in Moab again this past weekend. We learned that they were only serving breakfast and lunch, December is in the off season so it's understandable. But we still wanted to visit so we stopped in for Sunday brunch. The service was still great and we were seated quickly as it wasn't that busy. But we were so disappointed with the food.... The menu was mostly standard breakfast/ brunch type items but they had a few options that looked interesting, but they just didn't hit the mark for us. My BF ordered the Three Pigs Omelette, which came with fried potatoes and buttered toast. His overall reaction was "meh, nothing special". The omelette itself wasn't seasoned and you had to eat it with the bacon and sausage to get salt. The potatoes were a little dry and just ok. I had the Open-faced Smoked Salmon Bagel. It had the makings of being awesome because of the combination of awesome ingredients, but it just wasn't put together well. The one real positive was the smoked salmon. It was very tasty and there was a good portion. But the rest fell short. It was supposed to have dill cream cheese - I didn't taste any dill and hardly any visible to the eye, and there was hardly any cream cheese on it! Half the bagel on both sides had no cream cheese which left the bagel super dry in those bites. There was also spinach in the sandwich - the stems were left on which made it annoying to eat. The red onions and capers added great flavor but they were just plopped on top of the salmon. Every bite I took I was also trying not to lose them as they fell off my sandwich. I managed to rescue several capers but there were casualties as they bounced off my plate and landed on the floor. My son ordered the Chefs Crepes which had sliced banana, a berry jam, and a few walnuts sprinkled in. My son is 8 and even he commented that it was missing something. It was so bland. The jam was sweet but not overly sweet. I think we tasted vanilla in it but otherwise was one-note and there wasn't very much of it. The crepes themselves didn't taste like anything. And you know what semi-ripe bananas and walnuts taste like. It was dry and boring. So brunch really was no more than a 2 star experience. Mainly for the service, presentation which was very pretty, and the potential. We will come back next year and will come back for dinner which is really where they shine. Not giving up on this place yet! read more

Highly recommend Hidden Cuisine if you're ever in Moab. Chef brings her special twist from Cape Town, South Africa. Everything down to the berry preserves is homemade. The Healthy Banana Split was amazing!! The plain yogurt placed between a banana split down the center, topped with an assortment of fresh berries, then sprinkled with sliced almonds and granola. Accompanying sides of honey and homemade berry jam for extra touches of sweetness send this dish over the top. The heartiness and freshness of the Pipe Dream Avocado Toast was spectacular. The lime infused mash is the perfect morning touch of citrus. For those who can't make up their mind or simply want to try everything (which we did), they do offer "sides" of their favorites, French toast and biscuits with gravy. We passed Utah when we drove to Washington and we decided to stop here for breakfast. As the name implies, it is hidden and you would not expect this gem out here. When you walk in the place, it looked sparkling clean, well lit and very stylish! they also have a bar in the end. Their bathrooms were clean (quick s/o: women's bathroom had a changing table for babies so yay for people with young ones) It gave us a good impression! the menu looks appetizing! We had avocado toast, 3pigs omelette, eggs benedict and chef's crepes! they were all really delicious! avocado was well seasoned. The 3pigs omelette had good portions. It was alright according to my husband. I was not a fan of the jam inside the chef's crepes. suggestion: maybe give an option of either the jam on the side and cream inside or just straight up jam inside. I have no idea why this place has a 5 star rating on Yelp. It's pretty far out of town, quite a ways south of the heart of Moab, which isn't terrible, and there was a decent number of parking spots. We went at around noon and there was 1 other table seated while we were there, however it still took a long time to place an order and then 20 minutes to get our order (despite 2 servers, 1 busser, and at least 2 people in the kitchen). The banana split yogurt was good, but not amazing and pretty small. The omelette was fine, nothing special, basically all the meats in it tasted like the most generic store-bought stuff one could find. The 'breakfast potatoes' on the side were cubed potatoes slightly crisped -- no seasoning at all, not even salt. Lastly, they have an avocado toast that is supposed to be one of their signature dishes, plus most of their other dishes either have avocado or it can be added, yet the wait person didn't mention they were out of avocado until we tried ordering avocado toast! read more

Not "hidden", just a few miles from the busy downtown. This had to be one of our favorite meals and an unexpected find. Though the dinner menu features South African dishes, there is something for everyone. We started with the empanadas. Perfectly toasted, the salsa had a kick that the coconut dressing soothed. The bobotie and the sides were delicious. The South African ribs were tasty, the glaze a little too sweet for me. No room for dessert! Service was excellent; friendly and efficient. The outside seating is set away from the road enough and offers familiar views. Very relaxing to be there. Wish we could have gone back to try breakfast or lunch. read more

We shared an egg benedict and salmon bagel. The ham on the benedict was really flavorful, plus delicious hollandaise. I was disappointed that the eggs were a bit overcooked, as an oozy yolk is one of the best parts of breakfast. The salmon bagel was full of salmon and veggies, with a nice chewy bagel. The only surprise was that although it lists dill cream cheese as an ingredient, there's so little that it might as well not be there. I'd vote for adding more or leaving it off.
