Walking through downtown Moab, this little place caught my eye because of the sign outside "Fresh & Hot Beignets 3 for $2." I absolutely love beignets, and at that price there was no way we were walking past. We went inside and ordered six. Since they're made fresh to order, there was a short wait, which was more than worth it. We told the friendly employee behind the counter that we wanted them to go, and when she handed us the bag she smiled and warned us they were piping hot. She wasn't kidding! By the time we got back to our apartment, we couldn't wait another second. They were hot, light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. We devoured every last one. I only wish we'd had more time to explore the rest of the menu because everything looked tempting. If you're strolling through downtown Moab and have a sweet tooth, Elsie's Old World Delights is a fantastic stop. Fresh beignets, friendly service and one of the best dessert bargains you'll find. read more

My friends and I were not impressed with the beignets here. They were pretty dense and didn't have much flavor. They also could have used some more powdered sugar to make up for it. The Pain Au Chocolat, however, was delicious and very chocolatey. The service was quick. It's also pretty cute inside. read more

I came in specifically for gelato and to check out this new space. One of the gelato creators was training some employees about gelato when I ordered. I had the tiramisu, and also tried the lemon. They have sandwiches, salads, crepes, and other items. Cool little cafe. Hope to check out their croque monsieur and other items on my next visit. read more

I am excited about the potential that exists on this corner. Sad to see Quesadillamobilla relocated but this will be an even better patio. The interior is very well done and feels nice and cozy. The prices are decent for Moab. Gelato prices say $4.50/scoop which is fine BUT the pistachio is actually $7.5 but they don't tell you until you squeal. I'd say this deserves a special callout on the menu board. It is called out in the paper menu but that's not what you see when you order. Service was great. Gelato was great. Location is supreme. Mormons love ice cream and I predict this will be popular if they figure out the model quickly. Next trip we will see how it has done. Plenty of opportunity here even with trump-tariff priced pistachio ice cream. read more

The signage drew us in. But we should've looked further. We each got gelato. It wasn't anything special in the flavors, taste, presentation or pricing. The person helping us said we couldn't combine flavors even if we got multiple scoops (very odd), and didn't seem overly friendly or helpful when giving us samples either. The ambience was ok but not special - other than the neon lit signs. Oh well. Not a big deal but figured I'd give the heads up. read more

This is a very cute eatery. They lure you in with the sign of beignets, but they also a full lunch menu of sandwiches, soups, etc., and some fun gelato flavors, croissants, coffee, teas waters. There is an old story about the western saloon that served free lunch -- something savory and salty -- and overpriced beer. The result wasn't necessarily a bad deal, but not as good as it seemed at first. Maybe something similar is going on with the Elsie's soft opening? The beignets are 3/$2 and very tasty, surprisingly reasonably priced even considering they are pretty small. But the coffee options are mediocre and exorbitantly expensive. When I think about how much I paid for my watery iced Americano, the beignets suddenly seem like less of a good deal. They also serve ice cream and croissants, and they have comfortable booths and a nice view of the bustle of Moab's main street. So I'm not saying you shouldn't go, not by any means, but I do think a Moab update on the traditional western saloon is the best way to think about the enterprise. read more

Very confusing. Stopped to get lobster rolls from Crown and Canyon food trailer. Sign on trailer said order in Elsies. We did, apparently a combined store. But Elsies kitchen closed at 5pm, serving the menu from the trailer only. All food apparently stops at 6pm. The hours on the door say open til 8pm.... I can only assume after 6 is only Gelato... or what ever is left over from the day. A positive note, the others said the lobster rolls and clam chowder was good. read more

Their croissants are as good as they are in France. Such a cute and impressive spot here in Moab. Exceptionally friendly staff, darling design inside and out, and amazingly delicious fresh croissants--don't miss them. Amazing food and service. Vanilla latte perfect and served with Italian cookie. We had the beignets, mushroom, spinach and Parmesan crepe, wild berry gelato and Lemmon ginger tea. Best breakfast in Moab. read more

I'm writing this review before I have gotten my food. The service is so bad. As a moab local I've been wanting to try this! We are in the middle of ordering our food and a worker (guy with cross tattoo) comes in interrupts our server... what gets me is she completely lost focus and just stoped taking our order while we were speaking to her!
